CHAPTER 01 : THE CRIMSON TYRANT PART 07

NORMAL POV

KITCHEN

"We're hheeeere!" Hoshiko said in a sing song voice.

"Oh, you're finally back. That sure took a while." Ace said.

Himari, Trey and Ace has just finished with the other ingredients when their 4 comrades came back with the ingredients and tools.

"Looks like you guys had some fun." Himari said smiling at her sisters.

"Yeah! It was a blast… the store was pretty cool!" Hoshiko said excitedly.

"All right everyone, let's finish up the mont blanc" Trey said preparing the rest of the ingredient.

(A FEW HOURS LATER)

"Lastly, we dust the top with powdered sugar…." Trey instructed as he and Tsukiko began to apply the final touches to the pastry.

"Finished!" Ace, Grim, Himari and Hoshiko exclaimed happily.

"Finished…" Deuce sighed out still looking really gloomy.

"Ok… what's the deal with Mr. Gloomygus over there?" Himari asked her sisters and Grim.

"Did something happen while you were out shopping?" Ace asked looking just as confused as Himari.

"Um… well…" Tsukiko mumbled looking rather unsure if she should say anything.

"Let's just say he experienced a 'CHICK SHOCK'!" Hoshiko giggled out.

"Huh?" Himari said looking even more confused. Both her and Ace looked at Deuce who was still looking down and mumbling, "For 16 years…. I believed that…."

"There, there, "Tsukiko comforted the blue haired freshman.

Ace just shook his head and sighed out, "Making sweets takes so much time. I'm exhausted…."

"Good work! Is the tart finished? The decorations look super cute!"

All turned to see Cater standing by the doorway waving merrily at the group.

"Ah… its Cay-kun again!" Hoshiko said.

Cater gave another friendly wave more to the younger Akari's sisters direction before approaching the tarts and taking out his magicam and started taking away photo after photo, "Oh yeah… it's totally magicam-gramable! Let me take more pics of them."

"Geh! What'd you come here for?" Ace asked looking surprised and then annoyed.

"I came by to check on my cute underclassmen, working so hard." Cater replied, he looked at them before he laughed and continued, "Ahahaha, you look rather beat!"

Himari folded her arms and raised one eyebrow up as she said, "Well aren't you so lucky to come just when we finished everything."

Trey smiled as he started to untie his apron saying, "Things you aren't used to tire you out quick. So when you're tired you need to eat something sweet." He then gestured at the delicious pastry tarts as he said, "Go ahead and try the mont blanc we made."

"YAY!" Everybody cheered and all grabbed a piece.

Ace looked at his upper classmen asking, "Cater, you did come here just in time to eat the tart!"

Cater shrugged and said, "Well you can just think of me as the taste-tester."

Himari rolled her eyes. She then looked down at the treat in her hands and her eyes sparkled in delight and her mouth watered in anticipation. She could hear Grim saying excitedly, "Waahaaa…. It smells so deliciously sweet. The chestnuts on top are glossy while the cream underneath is so fluffy! Let's eat!"

With that the group took a great big bite and then…

"AH! Holy Crap!" Ace exclaimed in amazement.

"So Good!" Cater said happily

"Amazing…. It's like what you get in stores!" Deuce cried out.

"No way…." Himari exclaimed, "these tastes way better than those from the stores!"

"It's not overly sweet but still has a richness to it!" Grim said happily, "It's like a garden of chestnuts in my mouth!"

Trey laughed at their reaction and asked, "Is that a compliment?"

Tsukiko looked at Trey saying, "Trey sempai… your mont blanc is truly incredible!"

Hoshiko chirped gleefully saying, "Yeah! I can't imagine any other desserts topping this off!"

Cater looked at Hoshiko and then looked at Trey saying, "Oh yeah. Hey, Trey, do the thing."

"The thing?" Trey asked before smiling as he realized what Cater was asking, "Oh, that."

"That?" Ace asked.

Trey looked at all the 1st years and asked, "So, what are your favorite foods?"

"Mine's cherry pie and hamburgers." Ace said

"My number one is canned tuna, and cheese omurice, and grilled meat and pudding!" Grim said enthusiastically.

"If I have to pick, omurice, I guess." Deuce said.

"And mine is grilled lamb with Diablo sauce." Cater said.

"As for me… my favorites would be grilled unagi, udons, and I do love red bean filled sticky rice cakes with green tea." Tsukiko said.

"I love okonomiyaki and also chocolate eclairs with iced caramel latte." Hoshiko chirped.

(At that time Cater secretly stored what Hoshiko said in his memory for him to use in case he gets an opportunity to ask out the younger Akari sister. ^v^)

"Sweet and Spicy flavored Miso Ramen for me! And, also…." Himari declared, she then looked away as she dwindled her fingers and mumbled the last part looking a little embarrassed, "…. Strawberry glazed shortcake…."

The boys and Grim stared at her in silence before Ace started laughing and said, "PFFFTT… Hahahaha…. Aww… look at you… acting all girly…. It's actually kinda cute!"

MEGACHOP

"OUCH!"

Deuce, Tsukiko and Grim sighed and shook their heads at Ace who got another painful taste of Himari's signature move.

Trey laughed at the sight as he takes out his magic pen and said, "Alright, here we go…. DOODLE SUIT!"

A Sudden bright flash with sparkles enveloped the kitchen, nothing happened after that leaving all the freshmen confused.

"…? This is?" Deuce asked.

Trey smiled as he gestured at the pastry the group is still holding onto. "Now," he said, "take another bite of the mont blanc."

They all did, soon all of them widened their eyes and stared at their desserts in disbelief.

"Hm? Hmmmmm? This is… mont blanc but it tastes like cherry pie!" Ace cried out

"It tastes like canned tuna! Chomp chomp!" Grim said happily while munching on, "Oooh, now its cheese omurice! and grilled chicken, munch munch, and pudding!"

"Oh wow! I can actually taste the okonomiyaki!" Hoshiko chirped happily.

"Isn't it fun? If you did this while having tea with a girl, they'd be super impressed!" Cater said, all the while taking a secretive glance again at Hoshiko.

"This is amazing!" Tsukiko gasped in awe at Trey, "Is this your unique magic, sempai?"

Trey nodded and said, "Actually, it's magic that 'overwrites a component'. So not just taste, but I can also overwrite the color or scent or really anything. The overwrite only lasts a short time so that's why it's like a doodle or scribble. That's why I've named this magic 'doodle' since it's not permanent."

"Still… your magic is really incredible!" Himari said and munched away happily at her ramen-flavored mont blanc.

"Yeah!" Grim chimed in, "with your 'DOODLE SUIT' my dream of all you can eat canned tuna isn't just a dream! It's so much better than the magic Riddle uses to bully people with."

Trey then frowned slightly as he quietly said, "No…. my magic is nothing more than child's play when compared to Riddle's. He's on a different level."

At that moment, the Akari sisters stopped eating and looked at their upperclassmen. From the way he spoke, it seems to show that Trey was showing concern over the state of their Dorm leader.

Trey, who noticed the girls silent looks, quickly smiled and said, "…. It's getting late. Let's go home and give Riddle the tart tomorrow. Tomorrow is the Unbirthday Party. Don't be late."

Everyone nodded and finished their pastry.

"Well I guess, we need to head back to our dorms as well." Himari said while stretching her arms in the air.

Ace turned to the eldest sister and asked in a flirty, and slightly pleading tone, "Himaaaa ~ will you let me sleepover again?"

Himari, crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow while glaring at Ace who sighed and said in a sad tone, "My cruel upperclassmen aren't going to let me in the dorm!"

"Wow…. So prickly…" Cater mumbled

Hoshiko just giggled.

Deuce frowned at the red-head and said, "Ace, don't force the girls to spoil you too much!"

"Yeah!" Grim nodded as he climbed on Himari's shoulders, "You gotta pay to stay! 10 cans of tuna!"

Ace frowned as he said, "What! Are you telling me to sleep outside?"

Trey then stepped forward and said, "How about this… Deuce, why don't you stay in their dorm to keep an eye on Ace? As the vice dorm leader, I give you permission."

"Trey, aren't you spoiling the newbies." Cater exclaimed, "I'm so jealous. Ne, Hoshiko chan, would it be okay if I come too?" He said smiling charmingly at Hoshiko.

"….." Himari glared at Cater with murderous eyes.

"Hehe…. Sorry not allowed, their Dorm leader has spoken." Trey said to Cater.

"… Tche… Bringing me down…." Cater sighed out.

Trey looked at Himari and her sisters and said, "Himari, as the dorm leader of Ramshackle I would like to apologize for forcing those two on you four. We're counting on you all tomorrow."

"Don't worry about it, sempai." Himari said smiling at Trey.

"We'll do our best. Thank you again for all your help." Tsukiko said and gave a polite bow.

"See you guys tomorrow then!" Hoshiko said cheerily.

All of them started to head back to their respected Dorms. While walking Ace said, "Tomorrows the Unbirthday party. This Damn collar is definitely coming off! Just you watch, Riddle."

His companions sighed and slightly shook their head in disbelief at their friend's declaration.

"Idiot…"Himari muttered, but then gave a slight smile as she kinda admired the red-haired's determination.

HEARTSLABYUL DORM – LOUNGE

"Trey, Cater, I'm so relieved that you're finally back!"

The two upperclassmen has just arrived at the dorm where a 2nd-year resident was waiting for them looking nervous.

"What's the matter?" Trey asked.

"There were 10 residents in violation of Laws of the Queen of Hearts, No. 256: 'JUST AFTER 8 PM ONE MUST DRINK LEMONADE WITH HONEY'. THEY GOT THEIR HEADS OFFED BY RIDDLE…" He cried out nervously.

Both Trey and Cater looked even worried. Riddle's punishment has increased even more these past few days.

The 2nd year resident collapsed on his knees and cried out in fear, "I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE!" He looked like he was ready to lose it, "I'M RENDERED IMMOBILE BY RULES, I DON'T UNDERSTAND…. I… I WANT TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DORM!"

Trey knelt down and placed a comforting hand on the students shoulder as he gently said, "…Everything's going to be fine. I'll go talk to our dorm leader. You should go back to your rooms."

As the student finally calmed down and headed back to his room. Cater sighed out and said, "…. Ugh… I suppouse I should go and get some tea ready to try and win favor with the queen."

"Sigh… I'm sorry, Cater." Trey said looking apologetic. "Oh yeah. Make sure to pick herbal tea instead of black tea. I'm pretty sure rule number 153 mentions something about evening tea…."

"Will do." Cater replied giving a slight salute.

DRIP

DRIP

DRIP

DROP

Himari stopped and turned around as the sound of dripping liquid can be heard.

"Is something the matter, Neesan?" Tsukiko asked.

Himari blinked before shaking her head saying, "Huh… oh… it's nothing…."

She turned around again to see if she can hear it again before shrugging and walking back to the dorm with her sisters, Grim and the Heartslabyul freshmen.

So ends another chapter…Sorry if this is rather short. But I hope you will like it. The next chapters will be challenging but I really hope that you will enjoy them once I upload them.

Also any one who is a Cater fan, I hope I did not make him too OOC and too fawning or gushing over Hoshiko, that was never my intention.
