Beacon

Fuse

In no time at all, Ozpin and I made it to Beacon, freaking out all of the students in the process.

As it turns out, nobody liked the presence of a Gamer. I'm willing to bet half of it was due to the stupid ass name.

I had us land on basically the front lawn of the school since I didn't see any other appropriate place to land. But as the two of us walked towards the massive building, I was somewhat regretting the decision.

It really was a school, hearing all of the whispers and gossips about me as we walked through the school towards his office.

"Say, Ozpin," I spoke out without letting him confirm he was listening, "Why do you run a school that's basically right outside of Hell?"

Ozpin simply replied, "It wasn't like Vale was infested with your kind just a year ago, you know."

Ah, that makes sense.

My prattling ceases as we make it to Ozpin's office.

"So, Azure Dragon," He broaches the subject, "Why do you wish to kill him?"

I shrug, not seeing any reason to hide the truth, "He has an item I'm looking to take from him. Seeing the state of the city, I believe I wouldn't get along with him at all, so I'm just going to kill him instead of negotiating."

Tilting his head, he questions further, "What item?"

"A little fragment of a domino. It's literal and metaphorical at the same time. I can't bring mine out, so you'll just have to believe me on this one," I said, walking over to a nearby chair to sit down on.

Ozpin walks over to his desk to take a seat, "I see… Well then, I believe I may be of some use to you. Thanks to the fact that our adversaries are trapped within Vale, we've created an elaborate camera system throughout the city to spy on everyone inside. That being said, we can only really keep track of them for so long before they inevitably destroy or corrupt the cameras. We do know where most of them frequent though, and where they don't. I believe if you check into their most visited haunts, you're sure to find Azure Dragon."

That makes sense. Maybe he's hanging around at some location and people come in to check on him every once and a while? After all, a balance implies the two factions, heroes and villains, are of equal strength. If one of their members is slacking off, that puts the entire group at a disadvantage.

That being said, is Azure Dragon a villain? It seems likely, considering the one fortune I got from him puts him in a negative light. But considering the stock of Gamers in Vale, he might also just become one of the Heroes to balance things out.

Well, it's a good first lead, anyway.

"So, any recommendations?" I asked right away, not intending to waste much time in this dump.

Ozpin wasn't ready to let me go so fast, though, "I do have a few more questions I would like to ask of you, if you don't mind."

"Sure, you're doing me a favor anyway," I let him go, getting ready to answer a few things about myself.

Getting more comfortable in each of our respective seats, Ozpin began his questionnaire, "First, do you believe what you are doing is right? Is it justice?"

"Absolutely," I said with no hesitation, "I talked to those guys for like, 2 minutes and I instantly wanted to shoot them. They're the very antithesis of what an American should stand for."

Ozpin decided to ignore that as he asked his next question, "I see. Well, how did you manage to enter this world? I have heard from some Hero Gamers about their restricted ability that would've let them travel through worlds. I assumed that it would restrict anyone from entering as well."

I shrugged, not having a good answer to this, "Well, this domino I have inside of me is from another universe. The barrier is just a replica of a massive wall on the border of the universe. I assume that it allowed me to bypass the rules and just do whatever the hell I want."

He looked confused, "The barrier that surrounds Vale is just a replica? And this domino you're seeking is from… Another universe?"

It's normal to me because I began my journey like this, but I could see how that could be confusing to someone with no idea what the fuck I'm talking about.

"It's exactly what it sounds like," I leaned back in my seat, deciding to put my feet on his desk, "Bullshit."

Digesting my words, Ozpin then asked, "Do you think Azure Dragon, having one of these domino fragments, could do the same?"

"No fucking clue. I was hoping you knew, actually," I answered honestly.

I'm going to be pissed if I killed everyone inside of Vale and it's revealed that Azure Dragon walked out like half a damn year ago.

Hell, I might just crash out and destroy the entire goddamn world at that point.

Well, hypotheticals.

Frowning, Ozpin suggested, "Then it could be wise to check outside the-"

"Nope, I'm checking Vale. All in," I interrupted, not letting that line of thought continue.

That would take months and I'm not doing it.

"...I see. Well then, Interstellar Warrior, I will gather some of the intel I have on the Gamers and give it to you. For now… Could you stay in Beacon for a few hours?" Ozpin asked, also giving me a cool ass title.

Actually, it was a really cool ass title. I might name drop it sometime somewhere.

Giving him a thumbs up, I got up and started walking out, "That's fine with me. Just send someone for me once you've got everything. I'll make myself visible."

Now, I haven't talked to a student in a while. But if I just find the ones who are named by my Observe, I could probably get some neat nuggets of information out of them.

After all, they were the ones that the other Gamers were specifically protecting, right?

Bringing them with me should elicit some sort of reaction.

AN:

Still a bit slow on writing. 1 hour of writing got me 600 words (And then I wrote 400 words in like 15 minutes but hey, whatever am I right.)

But I finished this at 11:54 PM, which is 6 minutes before I have to upload it. Instead of having to upload it because I passed the deadline. Progress, am I right?

It's just backwards progress.

Anyway, love y'all, enjoy your MLK day, even if I despise the incoming President, whom I will be treating like Voldemort. We can only pray for the success of the American People.

In February and March, I'll pop off, trust.
