Wyndon Stadium

Fuse

The tournament to decide Galar's next champion started off just fine. There was only one stadium, though, and there were a bunch of trainers to get to. So, this was what the first day was going to be, with the second day being the "real" tournament with all of the gym leaders.

Of course, the third day will just be Leon against the winner of that tournament.

Sitting in the stadium with Dori, Nahida, Angeles, and Romeo, I idly watch Lily fight Hop, as the rest of my companions chat with each other over various things.

Watching Lily Vs Hop, it was clear that Hop was outmatched here, already on his last two Pokemon while Lily swapped between her Centiscorch and Mimikyu to clean up his team.

Not to mention that Lily has already beaten Marnie and Gloria, who I vaguely remember being the female protagonist of the game, so nothing is between her and the championship anymore. I have no doubts that

Lily publicly has 5 known pokemon, but six on her belt. It's odd how she's never let slip who that last Pokemon is. Maybe it's a legendary pokemon, but who knows at this point.

Tapping out of the match, I turned towards Dori who wasn't that interested in watching a stomp either to ask, "Hey, so how's that interdimensional business of yours going?"

As far as I knew, she was trying to build Amazon after I told her how Amazon works. But like, on multiple worlds. So you could order something from Galar and get it in Teyvat.

Of course, her portal mastery drained mana for as long as she had the portal up, and her mana regeneration wasn't good at all to be able to ignore the drain.

With a cheerful humph, Dori proudly said, "Oh, with the ridiculous exchange rate they're willing to give Mora for Pokedollars, I can get one hundred Mora to go for tens of thousands back home. My plans to set up an "Amazon" in the way you described are already fulfilled in this world, so I've been studying that using the Rotom-phone while I'm here."

Damn, that's pretty impressive. I totally forgot that though you can't get Mora from Pokedollars, you can get stuff which can sell for Mora. It's definitely why Dori is the merchant and not me.

Nahida chimes in, saying, "Most of the issues surrounding getting the products from here to Teyvat have been solved too, since we began exploring Terraria for its gear. Plus, Garbanag has been very helpful in giving us his old gear, though most of it was only helpful in accuracy and ranged weaponry. Luciel has also been helpful in clearing the monsters out as well"

Huh, those guys. I kind of forgot about him and Luciel since I've been stuck playing Pokemon for a month.

I guess they also have to do something so they don't go crazy being bored. Terraria gear would be pretty nice to have…

If the next world I visit has a gamer that kicks my ass, I should go circle back to get some Terraria gear. I could honestly just borrow Garbanag's stuff, actually, since both he and I use guns.

I replied, "Yeah? I guess it's good that they're helping. Do they want anything, or are they alright with what they have?"

Angeles answered my question, "Luciel has asked about being able to complete her requirements to travel to other worlds, which is to complete an Archon Quest, whatever that means."

Ah…

Well, I guess since Luciel is no longer being puppeted by "Fate" or "Destiny," she's probably fine.

"Tell her it's fine the next time you see her," I nonchalantly said, watching Hop finally be defeated by someone who didn't even dynamax once in the fight, "She's a Canadian, I'm sure she'll be on her best behavior."

Angeles simply nods and turns to Romeo as Dori and Nahida get into their own conversation while I think of ways to defeat Lily's team.

So, her revealed team is Corviknight, Mimikyu, Ludicolo, Obstagoon, Centiscorch, and one last unrevealed Pokemon.

Since I have at least one of every type I know of in my team, I can put super effective hits on every one of them. At least two on every one of them.

Though, given that Lily's Pokemon are stronger than mine on average… It'll probably end up with me barely winning by the skin of my teeth.

Though, I'm pretty sure I'll get Lily to dynamax, unlike Hop over here who's dejectedly walking out of the stadium.

I stood up, telling the others, "I'm going to miss the second day, since I already know Lily is going to win it. You should probably skip the third day too, since there won't be a fight that day."

Romeo, who was enjoying watching the fights, raised an eyebrow, "Oh? How come?"

"Story events," I vaguely said, "I'm going to go to Hammerlocke to fight the guy who does it after he does his thing."

At that, Nahida confusedly asked, "Why not before?"

"I dunno, I wanna see Eternatus," I said, half lying half not.

It's mostly because it would be the most socially acceptable time to fight Rose.

But also, seeing Eternatus would be pretty fucking cool.

I make my way to Hammerlocke, ready to jump Rose for…

Well, fun, really.

I just want to unleash 12 Pokemon on someone I know is below my level.

Hammerlocke Energy Plant

Rose

So, it was done.

Eternatus has been unleashed unto Galar.

It will take maybe an hour for everyone to arrive. Until then… He will bask in his accomplishments.

Now, Galar's future is secure.

"Hey, bozo."

Widening his eyes, Rose quickly turned around to find Fuse, casually walking to his location as if they weren't deep underground.

How did he get here so quickly? He had just finished the broadcast…

Did Fuse know he would unleash Eternatus?

Fuse continued to monologue, "I really am glad that I remembered the plot so easily. Now I've got you stuck here, all ready for a fight."

Rose's face scrunched up in confusion.

Was a fight all he was here for?

With a measured tone, Rose asked, "With Galar's future on the line, is all you can ask for… A fight?"

Casually, Fuse shrugged, "It's not that serious."

Somehow, Rose believes Fuse feels he is being completely truthful in his statement.

Regardless of how he thought of the situation, Fuse kept going on, "Anyhow, all that's left is for my team to get one final test before our final exam."

Suddenly, Fuse throws out both of his arms, and twelve Pokeballs are in the air. He immediately realizes Fuse wanted a team battle.

Rose sends out all five of his Pokemon in return, knowing full well that he's outnumbered.

The reason why most people don't bother carrying more than six Pokemon at a time wasn't just because of the standard ruleset, because the amount of food needed for more than six was usually too much of a drain on a person's resources.

Something that Fuse seems to have under control, as very few of his twelve Pokemon are the type to not need food.

Knowing it was going to be a quick battle, the two quickly dynamaxed their chosen Pokemon.

For Fuse, it was Marshadow, a Pokemon Rose only learnt of recently due to Fuse's internet famous fight with it earlier last month.

For Rose, it was his beloved Copperajah, who had been with him since day 1.

Immediately, the battle descends into chaos as neither of the two trainers could properly command all of their pokemon against each other. Instead, the Pokemon take their own initiatives.

Copperajah sends out a G-max Steelsurge, attempting to clear as much as possible while shoring up the defenses of Rose's Pokemon.

The dynamaxed Marshadow, however, counters with Max Knuckle, sending a flying fist towards Copperajah.

As a result, the Steelsurge did not do as much damage as it set out to do, and Copperajah was heavily hurt.

Meanwhile, the rest of Rose's Pokemon put up their best fight. But in a five against twelve, there was not much any of them could do.

The first to go down was Escavalier, immediately being burnt by Volcarona's flames.

Ferrowthorn wasn't long after, crushed by Coalossal's heat crash, unable to move away.

Perrserker was brought down by the Salamence, Seismitoad, and Galarian Slowking working together to ensure it couldn't move.

Klingklang was actually successful in dodging a few attacks. However, the electric regi landed a clean enough hit for the Tinkaton to drive him into the ground, letting everyone else jump on it.

Copperajah was the last to fall, being felled by Marshadow.

It was a very quick battle, and not one worth talking about. Such is the nature of being outnumbered.

"So, I am defeated," Rose plainly admitted, recalling all of his fainted Pokemon.

To be honest, out of the many things he thought would happen to him today… Being attacked by twelve Pokemon at once by the magical criminal they had in Galar was not one of those things.

It really is a strange world.

Accepting his fate, regardless of what it may be, Rose simply closed his eyes and waited to find out what code of justice Fuse followed.

All he heard was footsteps walking away from him.

Not believing his ears, Rose opened his eyes to look up to confirm that, yes, Fuse was simply walking away after recalling all of his Pokemon.

"What- Why are you…?" Rose muttered, not understanding anything that Fuse has done since he started being active.

Fuse had the courtesy to turn around and at least respond.

"Hm? Like I said, it's not that serious," He said, his tone of voice as though it were simply a casual outing, "I'm American, you're British- Well, Galarian. I enjoy bullying you guys around. That's all there is to it."

Without another word of elaboration, Fuse left Rose to think about everything that had just happened.

Fuse didn't even seem to care about Eternatus. He was here to simply battle Rose.

Despite the situation, Rose couldn't resist the urge to crack a smile.

"What a strange, strange man," Rose remarked to himself, knowing no else would hear it.

Washy:

Oh MAN I never expected for Rose to try and revive an ancient Pokemon like that! Who could've seen that coming?

Utsuro, The Weaver:

? Literally nobody. What you mean who could've seen that coming like any of us had that on our bingo card.

Uyrip Ecirava:

Naturally.

…Actually, what happened, I was asleep.

Rattata Lover:

Maybe stay asleep buddy lmao.

(Piscord)

Kugo, Hammer of God

So, what's the bets on the Lily Vs Leon fight?

Iuhfneayuibiauwehbf

Lily has had the most dominant performance throughout her entire journey since perhaps Leon himself. I really think she could be the one to finally take down Leon.

Mosovorop, Laughing Bug

Lily is literally 9 years old lmao

Maybe when she's older but not right now

ASla

You say that, but apparently all these other adults couldn't beat Leon. This kid is the closest we've ever gotten.

Who's to say Lily won't win? It all depends on their performance tomorrow.

Kaveros, Precipice of Subjugation

You think Lily is going to convince Hop and his friend to give her that legendary Pokemon they caught for the Leon fight lol.

ASla

No, it probably has to go in a research lab somewhere.

But to be fair, it would be pretty funny if she was able to convince them to give it up for this one fight.

Lily

As she watches Leon's Charizard fall defeated, Lily is filled with some sense of satisfaction. But mostly, anticipation and excitement.

While Lily had soundly beaten Leon, there was still one more opponent to go before she could call it a day!

Leon said something encouraging, but Lily isn't listening. Instead she's already pulling out a full restore to heal her Obstagoon, which had fought against Charizard and had taken the most damage of her team.

She knows what's about to happen. It would likely be the toughest battle of her career, as short as it has been.

Leon questions what's wrong, but he senses it too.

Riding on his Braviary, Fuse descended onto the field, just behind Leon.

Leon quickly backed off, all his Pokemon worn out from fighting Lily.

Seeing the potion in her hand, Fuse annoyedly commented, "Damn, you already healed? That ruins basically my entire plan, you know."

Of course, some of her Pokemon were still injured. Leon wasn't a pushover, of course! Even if Leon wasn't able to take down a single one of her Pokemon. But that was because her Pokemon are really powerful.

"Well, I knew you were coming, it wasn't like you were hiding it…" Lily sheepishly replied, putting the empty potion into her inventory.

With a chuckle, Fuse simply got off his Braviary to put it back into his Pokeball, pulling out another, "Ah well, you know what happens next, then."

The crowd goes wild as Fuse faces her directly, holding out a Pokeball in a challenging pose, "I challenge you, Lily!"

Holding out Obsty's Pokeball, though he was already out, Lily had a smile on her face as she replied in kind, "Of course I accept your challenge, Fuse!"

The crowd went wild as the final battle commenced.

AN:

I actually finished this chapter before the deadline, isn't that crazy?

Granted, I had to stay up all night to finish it because I procrastinated too much scrolling online and talking to friends on Discord.

Speaking of which, because I finished it a whole… 14 hours before publishing (It's not a lot but shut up), I'm putting this chapter on my Discord server for the readers there to read a bit early.

Granted, that's like 4 people. But hey, you could make it 5.

Am I plugging the Discord server properly? I dunno. I'm playing with bots on there.

ZPrVHumQJv is the server code.

I'll keep plugging it for a few more chapters I think, lol.

Also a fun fact, I haven't gone to sleep in 18 hours.

I'm going to sleep now.

[Also, in a ~19 chapter Pokemon arc, there was only like, a few actual Pokemon battles that weren't completely glossed over. Lmao that's crazy. I'm never trusting a Pokemon arc ever again guys. Next world will be better trust]

(You know, literally right after uploading this, I realized that Columbus day was actually next week because we missed Monday by one day coming into October. Oh well, just consider this the reward for winning the April Fools battle way back then. There'll also be an actual Columbus day update lol.)
