CHAPTER 02 : THE REBEL IN THE SAVANNAH PART 01
TSUKIKO'S POV
DREAM SEQUENCE
I opened my eyes and stared at my surroundings. I was in an unknown savannah.
"Is this a dream?" I thought while still looking around, soon a gentle wind brushed past me, the warmth of it made me feel peaceful as I closed my eyes and breathed out, as I whispered, "I can feel the wind."
From a distance on a giant rock, I see a lion and a mandrill heading towards the cliff. The primate seems to be holding something in it's arms. A hornbill then flew past me and towards the rock. Soon the Lion was accompanied by the Lioness, looking at the Mandrill. Below them all animals of shape and sizes have gathered around to watch. I finally could see that what it is holding is a small lion cub.
With great care he then lifts the cub up in the air towards the heavens as if to show the entire savannah about this little bundle of joy.
I felt in awe as if I have witnessed something majestic. Then my moonstone began to glow and all went white….
In the vast white space, I hear a lion's roar…..

NORMAL POV
RAMSHACKLE DORM : TSUKIKO'S ROOM
Tsukiko Akari slowly rose from her bed and looked around in a slight daze before realizing where she was. She then began to contemplate of what she had just dreamt, "What was with that roar?" She thought as she silently touched her moonstone.
"Nyah…. How's that…. Do you understand the power of the Great Grim…."
Tsukiko looked down and by her side stretching and talking in his sleep lay Grim. Tsukiko smiled and gently began to nudge the little monster as she said, "Grim, wake up."
"I showed that tyrant, Riddle, who's boss….What!? The Ramshackle Dorm?" Grim exclaimed as he quickly stood up from where he was sleeping. He then sat down again and sighed out, "It was only a dream…. I thought I'd knock that Riddle out and become the strongest wizard ever. So disappointing."
Tsukiko smiled gently and stroked the feline monster. It has already been a week since the "RIDDLE INCIDENT". All has been well, and things has changed for the better in the Heartslabyul dorm. The sisters and Grim are often welcomed there especially during tea time where they partake Trey's delicious sweets. She then said the Grim, "It's already time for breakfast, would you like to help me out in the kitchen, Grim?"
The little monster's ears perk up and said happily, "Oh yeah! As long as you make your fantastic Tuna Cheesy Omurice for me!" Grim was always enthusiastic to help out Tsukiko in the kitchen as not only was she a terrific cook, but she was more patient and ladylike.
They soon headed downstairs where they were greeted by the residence ghost.

A FEW MINUTES LATER
"Ohayo, Tsuki-nee…. Ohayo Grim chan!" Hoshiko greeted cheerfully. She was already in her school uniform and full of energy.
"Good morning Hoshiko, could you please help set the table for me, then call on Neesan afterwards." Tsukiko said as she has just finished placing the last cooked bacons on a serving plate. On her side 4 bento boxed filled with tasty dishes are displayed, the aromatic smell soon filled up the kitchen.
Hoshiko and Grim took a look whiff of the smell and both sigh out in delight, "Tsuki-nee… it smells really good!". "Yeah… I could eat those lunch right now!" Grim said as he drooled at the site of the boxed lunch.
"No, Grim." Tsukiko said as she picked up the monster and carried him to a chair, "Those will be our lunch for today." Before Grim could complain, Tsukiko has placed his omurice in front of him. Hoshiko was about to call her sister, when Himari suddenly burst inside looking really excited and exclaimed, "GUYS! I DID IT! I FINALLY DID IT!"
Both sisters and Grim blinked in surprise and asked, "Did what, Neesan?"
Himari stood proudly and then raised her hand and cried out, "LIGHT UP THE SKY!" With that a small flame appeared in Himari's palm. She then lowered it and showed it to the others as she said happily, "I'm slowly getting the hand of my unique magic!"
Her three companions looked at the tiny little flame as it flicked and slowly transitioned colors from orange to blue to red to green.
"Aww it looks so cute, Hima-nee!" Hoshiko giggled.
"That's wonderful to hear Neesan." Tsukiko said happily.
"PFFT…. You call that a flame?!" Grim laughed out, "My flames are waaay cooler and bigger than your little flicker!"
MEGACHOP
"OW!" Grim cried out as he rubbed his swollen noggin.
"Hey! I'm still new at this magic business… and I think I did pretty cool on my first try!" Himari hmphed angrily. She then leaned forward giving Grim a smug smirk as she said, "let's not forget who was able to kick Riddle's ass back to normal!" Grim just growled and glared back at the golden-haired girl before both of them felt a gentle pat on the head. The duo turned to look at Tsukiko who was giving them the MOTHERLY STERN Look as she said, "Now I don't want you two to be fighting over something like this! You both did well in helping Riddle kun during his overblot incident. Now, I want both of you to sit down and let's enjoy our breakfast, all right!"
Both Himari and Grim looking rather scared, just nodded slowly and move to their respective seats.
Hoshiko, just giggled and thought, "Tsuki-nee has finally become more assertive. It's interesting!"

(CAFETERIA : LUNCHTIME)
"Ugh…. Mr. Trein has been using some sort of spell to put me to sleep." Grim mumbled.
It was already lunchtime at Night Raven College. The Akari sisters, Grim, Ace and Deuce are walking down the hallways of the cafeteria looking for a table to sit on.
"Yeah… I get what you mean, Grim." Himari groaned out as she sat on a vacant seat and lay her head on the table. "No matter how hard I resisted I was almost ready to head off to dreamland!"
Deuce shook his head as he looked at the two and said, "Grim, you fell asleep five minutes in. And you, Himari around 20 mins. That's not resisting at all… if it wasn't for Tsukiko, both of you would have faced the penalty from Mr. Trein."
Both Himari and Grim just glared at the blue-haired boy but both seemed too tired to care. Tsukiko and Hoshiko sat across their sister and was preparing to take out their packed lunch. Ace on the other hand looked excited saying, "Lunch time, what should I have today…?" They soon noticed a huge crowd gathering at the service area. "…Hmmmm? The cafeteria is extra crowded today."
One of the ghosts suddenly appears in front of them and said happily, "Today is a special day that happens once a month! A super popular bakery in town is here to promote at school. It sells out fast so early bird gets the wooorm!"
"3 Chocolate croissants for me!"
"I actually got something this month! This egg salad sandwich is the best!"
As the ghost quickly handed out bread and pastries, the Akari sisters watch carefully.
"Oooh… look guys, there's also chocolate eclairs on sale… please let's get some!" Hoshiko pleaded to her sisters giving them puppy dog eyes. Himari chuckled and stood up to get some for her sister.
Meanwhile the Ghost announced, "The egg salad sandwich is already sold out! There's only one deluxe ground meat sandwich left!"
Ace was looking at the remaining bread and pastries on display as he said, "Everything looks really tasty. I might have to go get something.
Deuce was behind Ace, in front of Himari as he was observing the display as well, "It's really popular. Himari, Grim. What do you wanna….HUH?!" But as he turned to look, Grim suddenly pounced past them.
"OI, GRIM!" Himari cried out.
The furry little monster ignored them as he made a mad dash towards the front, "Outta my way! All of you! That deluxe ground meat sandwich is mine!"
Some of the students are looking annoyed as they cried out,
"Hey jerk! No cutting in line!"
"You've got some nerve cutting in front of your seniors, freshmen! Get outta here!"
"He loses himself to food way too easily!" Deuce cried out looking really embarrassed.
"Ugh!" Ace groaned
Despite the efforts of the other students. Grim snatched the sandwich from the ghost's hand as he said triumphantly, "DO YOU GET HOW STRONG I AM NOW! THIS LAST DELUXE GROUND MEAT SANDWICH IS ALL MINE!" He grinned as he told the Ghost, "Nya ha ha! I'll also be taking yakisoba bread and cream filled bread!"
"Grim, knock it off already! I'm sorry everyone!" Deuce said, scolding Grim then turning to apologize to his fellow classmates.
Ace approached the Ghost and said, "And, uh, I'll have a roast beef and lettuce panini!"
Deuce looked at his two companions in disbelief as he exclaimed, "YOU DON'T GET TO JUST CUT IN LINE EITHER!"
MEGACHOP
"OW!"
"Honestly you are such a troublemaker!" Himari grumbled holding Grim by the scruff of it's neck. The little monster had a huge bump on his noggin but refused to let go of the sandwich. The golden-haired girl then turned to the seniors and gave a small bow and apologized to them for Grim's behavior. She then got her order of 3 chocolate eclairs and along with the other two Heartslabyul freshmen headed back to their table.
"I swear Grim, your gluttonous stomach will one day get you in immense trouble!" Himari grumbled as she settled the little monster on it's seat. "Besides, why the heck did you had to go and grab that when you know Tsukiko prepared us a packed lunch!"
While Himari was scolding Grim, Tsukiko and Hoshiko were opening their packed lunch.
"Oh wow! You made that, Tsukiko?" Ace looked in amazement.
"It looks really good!" Deuce said.
The Blue-Haired Akari sister blushed shyly and said, "T-Thank you… but it's really just a simple lunch."
"Are you kidding! NOM NOM NOM! Your cooking is really incredible! The soft rice, the fluffy omelette, the tasty Meatballs! MUNCH! CHOMP!" Grim exclaimed already digging in to his packed lunch.
"Jeez slow down you glutton!" Himari scolded again as she is opening up her own lunch.

"Ah, crap! I completely missed the lunch time free- for- all!" Ruggie Bucchi of Savanaclaw sighed out as he scanned the pastry and bread display. "The deluxe ground meat sandwich Leona wanted is already sold out!. What to do…."
"Jeez slow down you glutton!"
Ruggie's Hyeana ears perked up as he turned to see 2 Heartslabyul first years as well as the famous Sisters who mysteriously appeared at the school on the opening ceremony. He blinked for a moment, but he then slyly smiled as he noticed what Grim has on his lap.
"NYA HA HA! THE TASTE OF VICTORY IS SWEET! I'll take my time savoring it!" Grim said happily. He had just finished his packed lunch and was now going to savor the sandwich.
"Oh…. Hey you. That's pretty great. You got your hands on a deluxe ground meat sandwich, huh."
The group then looked up to see a student approaching them. He had spiky, dark blonde hair and two large hyena ears. He has green-grey eyes, which are often half-lidded. He is also shown to have a short, thin tail that matches the colour of his ears.
"Huh? What's it to you?" Grim huffed looking annoyed that somebody interrupted his meal.
Ruggie gave a friendly grin as he said, "I have to get that sandwich no matter what but they sold out right in front of me." He looked at Grim straight in the eyes and asked, "So… I have a proposition, could you trade me that deluxe ground meat sandwich for my mini bean paste bread?"
"Huh!? No way in heck!" Grim said, covering his precious sandwich behind him.
Ruggie smirked grew as he said, "Now, now… don't say that…" He then extended both his hands at Grim, one hand holding a smaller sized bread, "Here you are!"
In a brief moment, Hoshiko Akari, saw small sparkles appearing from the Hyeana boy's arms, but when she blinked again they disappeared. Her eyes widened as she and the others witnessed something unbelievable.
"FGNAAAH!? WHAT'S GOING ON!? MY ARMS AND LEGS ARE MOVING ON THEIR OWN…." Grim cried out in thoughts, as his boy began to move against his will. He was mimicking the stance of Ruggie and as if in sync, both exchange their bread.
"Grim…. Who normally has space in his head for food, is actually trading a mini for a deluxe?!" Himari gasped in utter disbelief.
"That's incredible!" Tsukiko whispered in astonishment.
Hoshiko just remained quiet, as she silently observed the scene, already figuring out what just happened.
Ruggie looked at his newly acquired sandwich as he chuckled saying, "Negotiations complete. Shi shi shi shi." He then leaned forward at Grim who was in utter shock and dismay as he gave him a friendly pat on the head saying, "Thanks for being kind enough to trade with me! That mini bean paste bread is just as good." He was about to leave when a delectable aroma caught his nose. He turned to see Hoshiko holding up a meatball using chopstick. He walked closer to the youngest Akari sister as he drooled a bit saying, "Wow…. That looks really tasty…"
Hoshiko blinked twice, before smiling and held up the meatball near Ruggie as she chirped happily, "Well then why don't you try one?"
"HOSHIKO!?" Himari cried out in shock.
Ruggie looked surprised at first, but the ate the meatball whole looking really elated at the juicy taste of the meat. "NOM…. NOM… Wow! This meatball is really tasty!" He looked at Hoshiko and gave a flirty wink and said, "Thanks a lot, cutie! Shi shi shi shi shi!"
Before Himari could grab him he gave a huge leap and gave a friendly wave to the group saying, "Well… got what I came for, and a bonus to booth… Thanks again and bye-bye" With that he then ran off.
"What a funny guy!" Hoshiko giggled.
"HOSHIKO AKARI! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT BEING TOO FRIENDLY WITH GUYS!" Himari scolded at her younger sister angrily.
"Relax Hima-nee…. He looked really hungry and I kinda felt sorry for him." Hoshiko said calmly as she happily continued eating.
Himari looked ready to lash out, but something within her stopped, and she sat down and grumbled, "If you were like any other type of girl I would get even mad at you… but I know you too well… sigh"
Tsukiko sighed out and said calmly to Hoshiko, "Neesan is correct, please try to reserve yourself more Hoshiko."
Hoshiko nodded calmly as she said. "Oookaaay…."
"F-F-F-FFFGNAAAA!" The group jumped a bit in surprise as they looked down at Grim who started to wail out, "MY DELUXE GROUND MEAT SANDWICHHH!" The little monster then slumped down in depression as he moaned out, "Oooh, oooh…. Today is the worst day ever." He then proceeded to consume the tiny bread that he traded for, adding , "This bread is hard to swallow…."
"He says after vacuuming up three of them." Ace said while shaking his head.
"Then what were you thinking earlier?!" Himari asked looking annoyed rather than pity, "If you wanted to eat that darn sandwich then why the heck would you have traded it in the first place?"
Grim looked at the group as he angrily cried out, "That's not it! When that guy stuck his arms out, my body moved in the same way on its own. The trade was over before I knew it."
"Wait what?" Himari asked now beginning to feel suspicious.
"Oh I see, you just kinda went along with it. That happens sometimes." Ace said dismissively.
"That's not right either…. Grrr, I can't explain it well!" Grim said looking even more defeated.
Himari frowned at this and thought, "Could that guy be using some sort of magic?"
Grim then stood up and cried out, "I'm confused so I'm just gonna eat to feel better!" He then tried to eat get some from Deuce's plate, "Deuce, gimme some of your pasta!"
"I'M NOT PART OF THIS! KNOCK IT OFF!" Deuce said angrily, lifting his plate up and away from the feline monster.
Hoshiko just giggled at the scene, while Himari just sighed and even looked a bit annoyed.
"By the way…" Ace said looking at the sisters, "the headmaster said he has something to talk about so to come to his office after class today."
"Huh? Wonder what it is?" Himari asked looking a bit surprised.
"Isn't it probably about the stuff that happened with Dorm Head Rosehearts?" Deuce concluded.
"The 'EVIL BERSERKER MODE' incident? Probably." Ace agreed. He then looked at Himari and asked, "How have you been doing, Hima? I mean with your magic and all?"
"Oh… actually it's kinda cool. Take a look at this guys!" Himari said excitedly as she conjured up a tiny rainbow-colored flame.
"Oh cool…" Ace remarked, "When I first started magic, my wind spells were more like little breeze.
"Well.. I am still learning." Himari chucked, "but maybe I can ask the headmaster for more details about it."
"HAH!" Grim cried standing in the center of the table looking proud, "We might get a whole pile of canned tuna for how hard we worked!"
"No canned tuna please!" Ace groaned out.
Himari, then noticed that Tsukiko has been quiet and deep in thoughts for a while, she then asked, "What's wrong, Tsukiko? Got something on your mind?"
"O-Oh… it's nothing at all, Neesan. Don't worry." Tsukiko said giving them a reassuring smile. She then thought back about Ruggie and wondered, "Hmmm…. I wonder where have I seen that boy before?"

(BOTANICAL GARDEN: TEMPERATE ZONE)
"Leonaaaa, I'm back with lunch!" Ruggie called out.
A figure began to stir from his resting place by the lawn area. He slowly opened his emerald green eyes as he gave a small growl and muttered, "Grrr…. Huh, already afternoon?"
"Were you by chance sleeping here all morning?" asked Ruggie as he walked closer to Leona Kingscholar. The young Hyeana shook his head disapprovingly and said, "You're gonna fail another class."
The young Lion just ignored Ruggie's warnings as he gave a long yawn, his nose then picked up the scent of the sandwich and looked up saying, "Sniff sniff… Oh, smells like you got what I ordered."
Ruggie sighed saying, "Ugh! Leona, you always want the stuff that's the most competitive." He then handed over the lunch to Leona. "Here's your order of one deluxe ground meat sandwich and ice tea."
Leona frowned and snatched the lunch as he said, "Stupid! The more difficult it is to get the more you wanna eat it!" and with that he starting eating his sandwich
"I'll eat anything as long as it isn't moldy." Ruggie shrugged, he then remembered the delicious meatball that he consumed from the cute freshman with twin ponytails. He licked his lips in delight and thought, "I also wouldn't mind eating that delicious meatball again…. Or meeting her for that matter."
He looked down at the young Lion as he continued to eat without a care in the world. Ruggie smirked and commented, "I'm sure Prince Leona wouldn't know anything about that."
"Hmph!" Leona said, "I'm not the crown prince, I'm the second. I couldn't be king even if I wanted to. I'm not different from the masses."
Ruggie then said, "I'll never forget when I showed you a picture of my home and you said, 'I THOUGHT IT WAS A DOG HOUSE'."
"I said that?" asked Leona.
"Ya sure did." Ruggie said, he sighed out, "Ugh, I'd love to live in a castle so big it makes my home look like a dog house."
"Hah! Being Royalty isn't that great." Leona scoffed out, "Your effort or skills make no difference, everything is decided by what order you were born in."
"Hmph… is that so?" Ruggie asked. "Oh yeah! After school today is the dorm head meeting about the Magical Shift Tournament. Please don't miss it."
"….Tsk… pain in the ass…" Leona grumbled.
"As the dorm head, you get the biggest single room. So work to earn that place." Ruggie said.
"Ahhh…. Fine, fine." Leona waved off. He then gave a long stretch and lay down again on the grass saying, "YAWN…. I'm stuffed to the brim and sleepy. Wake me up after lunch."
"I'm not your alarm clock, Leona…" Ruggie scolded at the lion, he blinked and cried out in disbelief. "Eh?! He's already asleep!?"He sighed out in defeat, "Ugh… I can't….". Ruggie then picked up the empty sandwich wrapper and paper cup and walked away. He then thought back at the cafeteria, with the freshmen from Heartslabyul, Grim, and the 3 sisters. He then stopped and thought again about the one sister with Midnight blue hair and thought, "Now that I think about it, where have I seen those first years and that raccoon before?"
He then shrugged and walked on to head to his next class.

I really hoped you enjoyed the New chapter of my fanstory. I want to add a bit of info here for those who got confused regarding Hoshiko's actions and why Himari was lenient on her. Hoshiko's strong traits is she has high observational skills, she doesn't just interact or be super friendly to someone without a good reason. As her older sister, Himari is well aware of this which is why she doesn't thoroughly scold her, but that doesn't mean she will stop being overprotective to her younger siblings….
I am really excited as I just remembered that this is the chapter where my favorite WAKA SAMA is going to make his official appearance… Yey ^v^.
Also starting this week, I will also work on the latest chapter of my HOOZUKI NO REITETSU fanstory… it's been long overdue, I also plan to upload it on wattpad soon. As for ONCE UPON A TIME… I decided to launch it around the holidays.
So I'll be posting my next chapter real soon… again there will be days were the chapters will be shorter… but I will still continue to do my best to write well.
