The Navigator Conspiracy- a Inquisition report

The ongoing purge of the Navigators and Tech priests responsible for the exterminatus of Ichar IV continues as more and more evidence comes forward of retaliation against a Rogue Trader who held an STC that could render Navigators obsolete... the conspiracy destroyed Ichar IV because they thought that it was the homeworld of Areelu Van Yastobaal, holder of the Van Yastobaal Warrant of Trade, and wanted to "send her a message"

Notably, while the Navigators have proclaimed their innocence, and declared themselves "perfectly innocent and legitimate servants of the God-Emperor of Mankind", many witnesses against them have had their residences consumed by warpfire, or killed by seemingly malfunctioning equipment that was very recently serviced. Said Navigators and Magi said that this was a clear indication that the God-Emperor favored them, so they were immediately freed from their "unjust confinement" by members of the Ecclesiarchy and Sororitas.

This has led to the present conflict, this being the suppression of the Navigator's rebellion against the Imperium. Their rebellion has made its home in the Segmentum Obscurus, where they seem to particularly hate both Rogue Traders vessels and any vessels that are associated with Lady Inquisitor Vail, under their excuse of serving the God-Emperor by combating heretical forces. They have notably been responsible for the loss and corruption of the entirety of the Ultramarines First Company, said company having just having just rendezvoused with Vail's Inquisitorial flagship. The Black Astropathica declared them heretics, and then used previously unknown psychic powers to warp them into the Eye of Terror.
The First Company has been declared Excommunicatis Traitoris, their last documented sighting being fighting alongside the forces of the Black Commisar against Imperial forces in the Battle of Graia, alongside the Lamentors.

As punishment, the entirety of the Ultramarines were ordered to participate in the latest Penitent Crusade, the object being the total destruction of the Traitor Primarch Perturabo, the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion, and the exterminatus of Medrengard. The Inquisitor who organized the Crusade is now known to have been an devout worshipper of the Idiot Karamazov(1), the shrine to and life-sized solid-gold statue of the latter being proof of the former's heretical allegiances. Inquisitor Ruskvelt unfortunately has also managed to alienate the Ultramarines by ordering the Iron Hands and their gathered succesor chapters to fire upon the Celestial Lions, with him only surviving because of the presence of the Minotaurs chapter. Unfortunately, it is now too late to recall the Ultramarines and Celestial Lions, (who are now deep into the Eye) or to recall the Iron Hands and their successor chapters from their watch over the Realms of Ultramar. It was only through the intervention of the God-Emperor that we were able to catch Ruskvelt, who was caught shaking hands with a hololith of the leader of the Black Astropathica, and thus was immediately shot.

We have since heard what seems like screams of rage from the Imperial Palace, in particular the Golden Throne.

1. Known previously as Lord Inquisitor Karamazov. While we are still waiting for the Damnatio Memoraie to go through, we have been successful in posthumously revoking his title. His security access is another matter.
