Really? They're all remnants of the Sun-In-Splendor, who was murdered/divided by those he loved and trusted most. Much as the Emperor is a rotting husk of what he used to be, betrayed not only by his favored son but by his own Imperium which has twisted his word and Truth into exactly the kind of fanatical Creed that he fought so hard to extirpate. And the Emperor's soul is implied by some sources to be likewise broken and divided…

So perhaps the Intercalate is the breaking of the Emperor-who-was and the lighting of the Astronomican, and the remnants of the Sun-In-Splendor are the most coherent shards of the Emperor's soul, incomplete fragments of memory and soulstuff refracting through the prism of Imperial faith to resolve into aspects and archetypes of his broken divinity.

Or something. There's lots of parallels, is what I'm saying.

Okay yes, you're definitely on to something. Especially since The Emperor already took the death and martyrdom slots so the Madrugad and Sun In Rags also fit.

The Madrugad - Name of the Emperor in his role as a psychopomp, as well as beginnings and endings.
The Mensicate - Name of the Emperor, who preserves the glories of the golden age and keeps the dream of their return
The Sun In Rags - Name of the Emperor, reflecting the current state of the Imperium but idealized. The dignity of experience, learning from failure, and strength in defeat. Like a civilian Colonel.

There is a belief among Emperor Worshippers in Slawkenberg that the Madrugad, Meniscate, and Sun In Rags also embody the death of the Imperium That Is (Sun In Rags) and the rebirth of the Imperium That Will Be (Madrugad) through the dream of what the Empereror intended and preserved for us (Meniscate). When the Liberation of the Imperium is complete the Sun In Splendor - the Emperor - will be reborn. Some whisper that, through Cain, this is already happening…

I could actually see some debate over a lot of these among the Slawkies, since there is quite a bit of overlap.

The Omnissiah and Tzeentch both share a lot of Knowledge-related aspects, so the Beachcomber and the Door-In-The-Eye could fit both. Tzeentch is also a god of trickery, so the Vagabond fits there, too.

I really want an omake on Slawkenberg theology debates now; the Inquisition would be pulling its hair when it sees the heretics debating in a rational manner about the nature of divinity.

All of these could be aspects of Nurgle too, since the Slawkenbergers believe he's tainted the other Gods.

Really good thoughts.

The Beachcomber, in particular, definitely works as a Name of the Omnisiah in two aspects. First, as a scavenger and scrounger and 'picker up of unconsidered trifles' it is patron of Archeotech and everything surrounding it. And second, as ferreter of secrets and patron of blackmail and voyeurs it is the god of Hackers specifically. Tzeentch doesn't get ALL the spies.

The Vagabond seems more like they work with Tzeentch than being a Name. The Vagabond is a jester and traveler all. But they can still admire another god.
