LEGIONES CANCELLED. WHO'S NEXT ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK?

The Workshop has announced that their mass combat miniature wargame, Legiones, is being cancelled. No further updates will be released, and any models that are out of stock will not return.

"Unfortunately, The Workshop lacks the knowledge and capability to accurately model large scale combat. As part of our dedication to accuracy and objectivity, we cannot in good conscience continue to produce it." Spokesperson Warden Matthewson said.

Anabel, Valhallan Guardswoman, agrees with the statement. "I was an early collector of Legiones, but its clear The Workshop won't, or can't, make the kind of units that define that scale of combat. Where are the Baneblades, the Knights, the Titans?"

Others, like Clerk Nicodemus, are less positive. "The reality is that The Workshop flubbed things. Balance swung wildly between USA and Valhallan every rules patch, and once they realised they couldn't cash out by printing other factions they shuttered it. Mark my word, 10 years from now we'll be talking about how yet another specialist game has been Legioned."

Hobby stores are currently attempting to clear leftover stocks from the shelf. Store owner Nottingham shares his concerns. "It's going to be hard to persuade people to buy into a dead game, especially since it isn't to scale as the mainline. Sure, Aeronautica is, but that's the one thing that sells out consistently. What use are 6mm infantry in a game of Aeronautica, objective markers? I'm probably going to have to hold off on buying the rumoured Strike Cruiser until I've cleared my losses."

What do you think about the cancellation? Will this affect your future purchases of specialist Workshop games?
