Chris: Last time on Total Drama Island! Our 11 remaining campers went on a pirate-style treasure hunt! Some succeeded and some failed hard! After Kayla won immunity, with no definitive targets, Kayla, Maria, and Demetri were able to get Gavin's vote, and sent Sire packing. Latrell didn't take that well though, and he swore to get back at Kayla. Who's going to be voted off next? And will Latrell actually get back at Kayla? Find out tonight on Total... Drama... Island!

Latrell: (Drinks some orange soda) Man, I love this reward.
Jaden: (Eats some cheese fries) Yeah, thanks for sharing with us, bro.

Riley: Sure. (Eats some cheese fries) Ooh! These are so good!
Latrell: I know, right? I'm surprised you haven't ever tried them.
Riley: (Chuckles) I guess I never had the opportunity to try them.
Jaden: Do you two think that she's seen yet?
Riley: In about 3... 2... 1...
(A loud scream of frustration is heard from the Girls Cabin)
At the door to the Girls Cabin with the remaining campers
Kayla: All of my hair products have been destroyed! Who did this?!
Maria: It'll be-
Kayla: I swear when I find who did this, I will wring their neck!
Latrell: (Snickers and fist bumps Jaden)
Confessional - Latrell
Latrell: Revenge is a dish best served cold. So, I drenched her hair products in the lake while Jaden and Riley snapped the ones that weren't electrical. (Laughs) Man, I love this game.
At the Dock with the remaining campers, Chris, and Chef
Chris: Campers, your challenge today will be simple, but that doesn't mean it won't be tough.
Campers: (Look at each other in confusion)
Chris: You're playing a simple game of hide and seek. You'll have 10 minutes to hide, and after those, Chef will hunt you down.
John: What's stopping us from just running and pretending Chef never found us?
Chris: I'm glad you asked. Chef?
Chef: (Pulls out a huge water gun and points it at Latrell)
Latrell: So we're gonna get splashed by some water? I've seen worse.
Chris: Would you like a demonstration?
Chef: (Points it at Chris and fires)
Chris: (Flies back with the wave)
Campers: (Laugh)
Chris (From a Distance): Not on me, dude! (Starts walking back)
Kayla: So, how do we win this game?
Chris: You have 3 options. You can either avoid being captured or, if you are caught, help Chef find other players. You can also make it to home-base before Chef captures you.
With Jaden walking through the forest
Jaden: (Walking and looking around)
Naomi: (Sticks their head out from behind a tree)
Jaden: (Looks back as Naomi hides again, then shrugs and continues walking)
Confessional - Naomi
Naomi: I'd rather just get my day over with, so I'll just follow someone to see their hiding spot, and then I'll just get caught and help Chef find them.
Jaden: (Hides inside a gigantic bush)
Naomi: (Smirks and walks away)
Confessional - Naomi
Naomi: That was too easy.
With Maria in the forest aswell
Maria: (Climbs a tree and positions herself so her legs are sticking out from the branches)
With Latrell in the Main Lodge
Latrell: (Hides under the table closer to the door)
Kayla: (Walks into the Main Lodge)
Latrell: (Glares at her without saying anything)
Kayla: (Walks into the kitchen)
With Riley in the Girls Cabin
Riley: (Walks into the cabin) This should be a good spot.
(The wood creaks as she walks into the cabin)
Riley: Crap. (Quickly hides under a bed)
With Gavin on the roof of the Guys Cabin
Gavin: (Holding onto the shingles on the roof for dear life) Oh fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
(One of the shingles next to Gavin slide off the roof)
Gavin: Fuck 1000 times over.
Back at the Docks
Chris (Megaphone): Campers! I hope you found a good hiding spot! Because Chef is now on the loose!
Chef: (Runs into the campgrounds and cocks his water blaster)
Back with Naomi in the forest
Naomi: (Looks around and then poorly hides behind a tree)
Chef: (Walks by and passes by Naomi)
Naomi: (Rolls her eyes and tosses a rock off the ground into the air, hitting a squirrel out of the tree)
(The squirrel screams and hits the ground, causing Chef to turn his head back and see Naomi)
Chef: Got you, girlie.
Naomi: Oh... hey...
Chef: (Sprays Naomi with his water blaster)
Naomi: (Deadpans Chef) Thanks.
Chef: Now come with me, soldier! (Walks back in the direction he was walking in before)
Naomi: (Smirks) Alright. (Walks with Chef)
With John in the communal bathroom
John: Damn, never found an actual place to hide. (Goes into a stall)
(A rat runs by John's feet)
John: (Screams like a girl)
With Nikki the forest outside of a cave
Nikki: I really hope that no bears are in this joint. (Walks into the cave and hides behind a random rock)
With Naomi and Chef at the bush the former of the two saw Jaden hide in
Naomi: (Taps on Jaden's shoulder) Gotcha.
Jaden: (Comes out from hiding) Goddammit, man.
Chef: (Sprays Jaden) Alright, Naomi has immunity.
Naomi: Sweet, I have immunity.
With Demetri walking into the Girls Cabin
Demetri: (Looks around the Girls Cabin) Alright, coast is clear.
Riley (Whispering): What the fuck is he doing in here?
Demetri: This should be good. (Attempts to hide under the bed Riley is under)
Riley: (Gets out from under the bed) What on Earth are you doing?!
Demetri: Riley? Oh shit.
Riley: Why are you even in here, perv?
Demetri: I was trying to hide, same as everyone else.
Riley: Then why didn't you hide in the Boys Cabin?
Demetri: Chef would be less likely to look for me here.
Riley: Oh, that is a bold-faced lie.
Demetri: Hey!
Riley: Can you please just find another-
Chef: (Walks in and prepares his water blaster) Hey there, kiddos.
Demetri: Oh shi-
We cut to Chef, Jaden, Riley, and Demetri walking through camp, with the latter two being drenched from Chef's water blaster.
Jaden: Jeez, Chef really got a 2-for-1.
Riley: I blame Demetri.
Demetri: All I wanted to do was hide!
Confessional - Demetri
Demetri: And maybe... (Makes air quotes) borrow a pair of Naomi's panties.
In the Main Lodge with Chef
Chef: (Looks around then walks into the kitchen)
Kayla: (Peeks from behind the door to the kitchen which Chef left open)
Chef: (Turns back and sees Kayla quickly put her head back behind the door)
Kayla (Whispering): Dammit, dammit, dammit.
Chef: (Taps on Kayla's shoulder and shoots her with the water blaster)
Kayla: Shit!
Chef: C'mon, girlie. (Walks out of the kitchen with Kayla)
Kayla: Son of a bitch.
Chef: (Looks and notices the red from Latrell's hoodie under the table)
Kayla: Can we go?
Chef: (Shoots under the table where Latrell is) Got you.
Latrell: (Comes out from under the table, drenched) Son of a fucking bitch.
Chef: Now we can go.
Outside the Main Lodge with Demetri, Jaden, and Riley waiting outside
Chef: (Walks out with Kayla and Latrell)
Riley: You too?
Latrell: Yeah. At least the bitch doesn't have immunity.
Kayla: What did you call me?!
Latrell: Right, people like you have to suck-
Jaden: Bro, we're on TV, can you at least keep it somewhat PG?
Latrell: Sure.
Kayla: (Flips off Latrell)
Latrell: (Flips off Kayla)
Chef: Let's go, kids.
Demetri: Yeah, let's go.
(The 5 Campers and Chef walk away)
With Chef, Demetri, Jaden, Kayla, Latrell, and Riley at the Communal Bathroom
Chef: (Looks around) Hmm, would've thought someone would be here.
John: (Runs out of the stall he was hiding in while screaming)
Jaden: Jeez, are you okay?
John: There were rats running by me every 5 minutes.
Chef: (Shoots John with the water blaster)
John: (Deadpans) Thanks.
Chef: C'mon, we still got 3 more of you brats to find!
With Chef and the campers in the forest
Riley: (Talking with Jaden and Latrell about something)
John: (Yawns as he's walking with the group)
Demetri: (Looking around the forest)
Kayla: You find anything, Demetri?
Demetri: Nope.
Kayla: (Rolls her eyes but notices Maria up in a tree)
Maria: (Mouthing the words "Don't tell me" to Kayla)
Kayla: Chef! I found someone! (Points up to the tree Maria's in)
Chef: (Shoots at the tree)
Maria: (Screams as she falls and hits the ground)
Kayla: Look at that, I have immunity again.
Latrell: (Rolls eyes)
Riley: Damn.
Jaden: Not again.
Confessional - Maria
Maria: I can't believe Kayla did that. She probably misread my lips, that's probably it.
Confessional - Kayla
Kayla: Maria makes it too easy.
Outside of the cave Nikki was hiding in with all the campers who have been found
Chef: (Walks out of the cave carrying Nikki on his shoulder)
Nikki: Okay, you caught me.
Naomi: Are we missing anyone?
John: We're missing Gavin.
Chef: How? I looked everywhere!
With Chef and the Campers running to the dock.
Chef: Well I'll be damned.
Gavin: (Sitting on the lifeguard chair) Kinda surprised you didn't check the roof of the cabins.
John: Nice going, bro!
Chris: (Appears out of fucking nowhere) Challenge is over! Gavin, Naomi, and Kayla have immunity. I'll see you at the elimination ceremony tonight.
Sometime around sunset, with John and Maria outside of the Main Lodge
John: Maria, why did you want me to meet you here?
Maria: Well... I wanted to tell you something...
John: What is it?
Maria: I... I...
John: Are you feeling okay, Maria?
Maria: I like you!
John: You... WHAT?!
Maria: It was really hard to build up the courage to tell you, so I hope you feel the same.
John: Maria...
Maria: Yes?
John: I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same.
Maria: W-What?
John: Sorry, we can be friends though.
Maria: Oh... okay... (Quickly runs away)
John: (Sadly sighs)

John: I feel bad for Maria. She isn't a bad girl at all, she's really friendly, but I'm just not into her.

Chris: Campers, welcome. I must say, I'm surprised at these votes. However, the game must go on. I have 9 marshmallows on this plate. If I call your name, you receive a marshmallow and stay in the game, if you don't, you must make your way to the Dock of Shame and catch the Boat of Losers. Naomi, Kayla, and Gavin are safe. Now...

John: Right. (Walks away)
(The remaining campers give each other a confused look)
Confessional - Maria
Maria: I really didn't want to do that to John, and I especially didn't want to use feelings and sympathy as a way to manipulate someone. But, Kayla said this will help us, and I trust her. John, I'm really, really sorry.
Confessional - Kayla
Kayla: John had been targeting me for the longest time, and seeing how he was friendly with the most liked guy on the island, there was a chance he could've rallied everyone against me. I had to get him out, and Maria did her job perfectly. She was reluctant to do it, but I managed to convince her.
Confessional - Riley
Riley: I know Latrell and Jaden wanted me to vote for Demetri, but I felt so bad for Maria. I had to vote John. I hope the guys will understand.
At the Dock with Chris
Chris: Wow, I didn't see that coming. With our first returnee out of the game, how much longer will the other stay in the game? Will Maria's guilt consume her? And how will Kayla shake up the game again? Find out next time! On Total! Drama! Island!

Review the Chapter and Rate it 1-10! John was definitely a good character in the episode he got eliminated initially, but he didn't serve much of a purpose in the Merge. Mostly bc everyone had their main plots, interactions, and all that, and John just couldn't really fit into that without it feeling forced. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. This took a lot longer to make than most chapters since this is my least favorite Merge Episode in Island so I wasn't as joyful to make the episode. I'm definitely gonna enjoy almost all of the next episodes though.
