I do not own Pokémon, and the idea is not original. A YouTuber's video gave me ideas. I also talked to said YouTuber personally, and he helped out. His name is EliteMJ. Go look him up on YouTube; his videos are very well-made.
Aaron, Daphne, and Franklin entered Route One as Rei and Charles were on Aaron's shoulders looking around as Daphne said that after Route One was Viridian City. Franklin clenched his fist and said, "I know I'm not strong enough yet, but when it's time, I'm challenging Silver to the right of Gym Leader."
"Your dad fought him in the war, right Franklin?" Aaron asked the angry traveling companion. Franklin nodded his head and said that in the war it was Giovanni himself who had his dad killed. Daphne looked at the sky as she said she remembered how her aunt was when they handed her uncle's Mega ring to her. They then all stopped and said nothing as they knew the price their parents and friends paid in the war. That was when a shiny Caterpie wiggled up to them and touched Daphne's leg, making her scream in fear and hopping on Franklin's back.
"GET IT AWAY FROM ME!" She shouted. Aaron chuckled and offered the Caterpie some Pokémon food, it ate the food as he scanned the Caterpie. His Pokédex read, "Caterpie, the worm Pokémon. A bug type, It releases a stench from its red antennae to repel enemies. It grows by molting repeatedly. This Caterpie is a Male and knows Tackle, String Shot, and Bug Bite." Aaron knelt and asked Caterpie if it was still hungry, and the Caterpie nodded its head.
"Well want to come with me on my Journey? You can have all the food you want." Aaron told him. Daphne said that she hoped he was joking but Aaron said he wasn't, pointing out that his dad caught a Caterpie as his second Pokémon when he was starting. Then Daphne said, "Yeah, my mom told me about it. But I don't like bugs!" Aaron chuckled as he picked up the Caterpie and asked him again if Caterpie wanted to join him and he agreed.
"Welcome to the team buddy, how about… Ben." Aaron said to the Caterpie and he shook his head. Aaron then said, "No… then what about… Wilbur." Caterpie jumped up and down on Aaron's shoulder. Aaron smiled and touched a Pokéball on Wilbur and he went inside the Pokéball. After three shakes and a Ding, Aaron caught a Caterpie, and his data was added to his Pokédex.
"Yae… you got a Bug-type, don't use that to scare me," Daphne said as she looked at Aaron. Aaron said he would never do anything like that. Then Franklin said that he and Daphne needed to catch up as they were behind Aaron and had to catch up. Daphne nodded her head and the two split up as Aaron was getting camp set up. He then called Wilbur back out and let Rei, Charles, and Wilbur all have fun.
With Franklin, he and his two Pokémon were looking for a Pokémon when a Weedle inched its way to him and Oddish saw it. Getting Franklin's Attention, He saw the Weedle and scanned it with his Pokédex. It told him, "Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokémon. A Bug and Poison type. It eats its weight in Leaves every day. It fends off attackers with the Needle on its head. This Weedle is a female and knows Poison Sting, String Shot, and Bug Bite." Franklin smiled and was careful not to hit the poison stinger. Oddish and Bulbasaur greeted Weedle. Franklin even gave her some Pokémon food. Smiling more, Franklin asked the Weedle if she wanted to join him on his journey.
The Weedle jumped onto his hand and crawled up it. That made Franklin smile, though Weedle wasn't a Grass type, he could use her to scare his cousin. With Daphne, She was looking around when she spotted an injured Spearow. Scanning it, her Pokédex read, "Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A normal and Flying-type, it flaps its small wings busily to fly. Using its beak, it searches in grass for prey. This Spearow is a female and knows Growl, Peck, and Leer."
Daphne saw that its wing was hurting, so she pulled out a potion and sprayed it onto the wing. The Spearow shrieked in pain before seeing her wing was feeling better. The Spearow thanked her by jumping onto her shoulder. Daphne smiled and gave her Bird Pokémon food, and it ate the food happily.
"You're cute, wanna join my team?" Daphne asked the Spearow, to which it nodded. That made Daphne smile and tap the Spearow with a Pokéball. It was caught and she smiled as her Eevee was on her shoulder. Daphne looked at her and said, "I realize that I have two pokémon, not Eevee now… so maybe I should change my goal. Hey… Pokémon Contests. That way I can keep it in the family." her Eevee cheered, and jumped around.
Back with Aaron, he was finishing setting up the camp as Rei and Charles played with each other. Aaron smiled when he felt something land on his shoulder. Looking to his right, he saw a Pidgey looking at some food he had out. Aaron followed Pidgey's gaze and chuckled before giving it some food. The Pokémon took the food and landed on the small table. He then scanned it with his Pokédex and it said, "Pidgey, the tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal and Flying type, it is docile and prefers to avoid conflict. If disturbed, however, it can ferociously strike back. This Pidgey is a Male and knows Tackle and Sand Attack."
"Hey, wanna join my team? You can get more food like that." Aaron asked Pidgey. The Tiny bird nodded his head and Aaron smiled at that as he caught the Pidgey. He then saw Franklin and Daphne returning and showed them his new Pokémon. Franklin smiled and said that he caught a new one too as did Daphne. Franklin saw the Pidgey and said, "Seems like you got a new one."
"Yeah, I think I'll call him Zane," Aaron said, and the Pidgey agreed with him as Aaron tapped a Pokéball onto the Pidgey and caught it, adding its Data into his Pokédex. Franklin smiled and showed his Weedle, causing Daphne to glare at him before showing them her Spearow. She then told them her plan to change from an all-Eeveelution team to a Pokémon Coordinator.
"Is… that for my dad?" Franklin asked her. Daphne nodded her head, Franklin teared up a bit and hugged his cousin. Aaron smiled at them before a net landed on all three of them and their Pokémon except for Rei, Zane, Daphne's Spearow, and Franklin's Weedle. Then the sound of three people laughing was heard when a Meowth head and Paw Shaped Balloon appeared and three people jumped from it and landed.
"Prepare for trouble!" said a girl with Periwinkle hair in a Ponytail.
"And make it double!" Said a guy with Magenta hair in a bowl-cut style.
"To Protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the star above!"
"Jessalyn!"
"Jamison!"
"Team Rocket blasts out at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare for a harmonious fight!"
"Meowth, that's right." said a talking Meowth before he coughed and added, "I'm getting too old for this."
"Jessalyn?! Jamison?!" Aaron shouted in confusion. Franklin and Daphne looked at the two people before looking at Aaron and Franklin asked, "You know them?" Aaron looked at the cousins and said, "Yeah, I do, they're the twin son and daughter of Jessie and James, the defectors who helped my dad in the war."
"Hey, it's the Mini Twerp," Meowth said as he walked over to them. Jessalyn and Jamison followed him as they took the net off and Jamison told them, "Sorry about that, but we saw you from the old balloon and we wanted to pull a joke." Aaron dusted himself off and shook Jamison's hand and asked if they wanted to join them for a meal.
"They tossed a net onto us and you want them to eat with us?" Daphne asked, clearly pissed. Aaron told them that he had played with them and their younger sibling when he was younger. Franklin and Daphne looked at each other before sighing and agreeing. Sitting down for lunch, Meowth joined the Pokémon as Jamison and Jessalyn joined Aaron, Franklin, and Daphne. Aaron looked at Meowth and asked, "I never found out, did you eventually get caught by them, Mr. Meowth?"
"Nope and I intend to stay that way, the truth is Giovanni tried capturing me in the war, which is the reason Jessie and James defected," he replied. Aaron never knew that. Jamison sighed as he said, "When our parents defected, they came and got us before we could be captured and used as bait to lure them in. Arbok and Weezing came to our rescue and got us to our parents."
"Turns out it was the same Arbok and Weezing that once traveled with our parents. The reunion was cut short though as Team Rocket grunts arrived with Houndooms and Dodrios. Arbok and Weezing told us all to run as Mom and Dad only had a Pokémon each and both were injured." Jessalyn said as she took over for her brother. She added that Mom, Dad, and Uncle Meowth bought them time to escape with a bunch of Ekans and Koffing, this was them returning the favor, last thing they all saw was Arbok and Weezing…dying to the grunts and their Pokémon.
"Arbok and Weezing were Jessie and James's first Pokémon each and it hurt them both having to abandon them in the first place, they had to go and give their lives for us… it hurt them even more. Jessie and James never spoke about it, but I could tell that they were upset." Meowth said to them. Aaron nodded his head as he looked at Rei, Daphne her Eevee, and Franklin his Oddish, they would have probably felt the same way.
"After the war, Mom and Dad went to Master Koga in Fuchsia City, where they were trained in Ninjutsu and took over as the Fuchsia City Gym Leaders when Koga's daughter died in the war as well." Jamison finished up with. Franklin and Daphne smiled as they saw the twins be proud of their parents. Afterward, Jessalyn and Jamison challenged the cousins to a double battle. Daphne and Franklin looked at each other and nodded to the twins as if it would be a good experience for their new Pokémon.
After they finished eating, Franklin had Weedle out while Daphne had Spearow out. Jessalyn sent out an Ekans while Jamison sent out a Koffing. The cousins scanned the two Pokémon with their Pokédexes, Franklin's scanned Jamison's Koffingande Daphne scanned Jessalyn's Ekans. Franklin's Pokédex said, "Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. A Pure Poison Type, Toxic Gas is held within its thin, Balloon-shaped body, so it can cause massive Explosions. This Koffing is a Male and knows Tackle, Poison Gas, Smokescreen, and Smog."
"Ekans, the Snake Pokémon. A pure Poison type, it can freely detach its jaw to swallow large prey whole. It can become too heavy to move, however. This Ekans is a Male and knows Wrap, Leer, and Poison Sting." was what Daphne's Pokédex said. The cousins looked at each other and nodded their heads as between Spearow and Weedle they had the moves Poison Sting, String Shot, Bug Bite, Growl, Peck, and Leer.
"Bug Bite won't do us any good. So use String Shot on them both!" shouted Franklin. Weedle obeyed and shot silk at the two poison-type Pokémon. Jamison ordered his Koffing to use Smokescreen. The Poison Gas Pokémon obeyed and deployed the Smokescreen right as the String Shot got close. As soon as the Smokescreen cleared, neither Ekans nor Koffing were seen.
"POISON STING ON SPEAROW!/SMOG ON WEEDLE!" the twins shouted as Ekans and Koffing were above the opposing Pokémon. The two used their moves on Spearow and Weedle, but the cousins shouted, "DODGE! STRING SHOT!/PECK!" Weedle and Spearow dodged the attacks and Weedle was able to wrap Ekans and Koffing together with String Shot and Spearow began to Peck at their heads. Jessalyn shouted to her Ekans to use Poison Sting on Spearow, but with him being stuck to Koffing made it difficult to target Spearow as it dodged the attacks.
"Not bad you kid," Meowth said with a smirk. Franklin said nothing as he told his Weedle to keep the String Shot coming as Spearow kept using Peck. Soon Spearow began flapping her wings harder and gusts of wind began hitting Ekans and Koffing. Daphne smiled and shouted, "YOU LEARNED GUST, SPEAROW!" Spearow cheered and Jameson said, "Let's call it here. Seeing as our Pokémon constantly getting hit with String Shot, it made it impossible to have their Pokémon move at all. Franklin sweatdropped as Daphne rubbed the back of her neck.
Later the two Poison-type Pokémon were healed up as Meowth said, "I'm gonna say this now, Jessalyn, Jameson, you two are gonna need to train more. You guys worked well together and caught some new Pokémon, don't just keep it at Ekans and Koffing. Cousin twerps, the teamwork was good, I see you two becoming good trainers. Girl, you thinking about becoming a Pokémon Coordinator?" Daphne nodded her head as she wanted to be like her uncle. Franklin smiled at his cousin before Meowth said, "Well watch out Twerpette, Jessalyn here is also aiming to be a Pokémon Coordinator like her mom was back in the day."
"So it looks like we're gonna be rivals," Daphne said as she held her hand out. "May the best Trainer win." Jessalyn smiled and shook hands with Daphne before saying, "I will." Aaron, Franklin, And Jameson all smiled as Jameson looked at Aaron and said, "And I'm partaking in the Gym Challenge. So it looks like we're gonna be rivals too." Aaron smiled as well and they too shook hands.
"Damn, I need a Rival no," Franklin said. Aaron, Daphne, Jameson, and Jessalyn all laughed as Franklin also laughed. Afterward, Jessalyn and Jameson got back into the Balloon with Meowth and went on their way to catch more Pokémon while Aaron, and Daphne. And Franklin packed up and resumed their journey. The three soon arrived at Viridian City. Franklin clenched his fist as Aaron looked at Daphne for an explanation.
"Silver took over Giovanni's gym." She told him. Aaron nodded his head looked at Franklin and asked, "You gonna be good?" Franklin looked at them and said, "I'm gonna be fine… as long as we don't interact with him." Aaron and Daphne were worried for Franklin as they headed into the City and headed to the Pokémon Center. Along the way, they passed by the Viridian City Gym and Franklin clenched his fist as his dad was killed by Silver's dad. Daphne felt some anger as she was his cousin, but tried to keep her anger under control.
At the Pokémon Center, Aaron called his parents on one while Daphne and Franklin called their parents. During the call, Daisy told her son there was an event going on in Viridian City that she thought he'd like to enter. Franklin looked at his mom and asked what the event was called and his uncle said, "It's the Kanto Battle Club. The more battles you partake in and win, the higher rank you are."
"Oooo, sounds good, where would I sign up?" Franklin asked. Gary told him that signups are always at the local Gym, and that made Franklin a little pissed that he had to see Silver, but wondered what the prize would be after a certain number of wins. So after they got done with the video calls, Franklin headed over to the Viridian City with Daphne and Aaron following him.
At the gym, Franklin got in line to sign up for the battle club. As he waited, he saw Silver and glared at him, and the gym leader simply stared back. Aaron saw Silver, and Silver saw him and smiled. That was when he walked over to the group.
"The son of the Great Ash Ketchum, welcome to my gym… are you here to challenge it?" Silver said as he had his hands behind him. Aaron looked at him and said, "No… I'm going to do the gyms so that my dad did them in." Silver nodded his head as it made sense. He then looked at Franklin and said, "Would you like to know if you get a certain number of Victories?"
"What…" Franklin said while holding back a fist. Silver then told him that after 9 victories earned the person to challenge a Gym Leader of their choice. Franklin smiled and said, "Good, when I get my nine, I'm coming for you." that made Silver smile. He then said that he would be looking forward to it. Franklin simply glared.
Later in the day, Franklin was in his rookie battle against a boy younger than him named Theodore. The referee told them it would be a one V one Pokémon battle and had them send out their Pokémon. Franklin sent out Weedle and Theodore sent out his Alolan Raticate. Aaron pulled his Pokédex out and scanned it, his Dex said, "Raticate, Alolan form. The Mouse Pokémon. A Dark and Normal, It commands a nest of Rattata. Different nests don't get along, whipping up severe fights over feeding grounds. This Raticate is a Male and knows Headbutt, Iron Tail, and Shadow Ball." Aaron and Daphne looked at each other with concern for Franklin.
"This will be a tough battle, Weedle, but let's start with a String Shot!" said Franklin, Weedle nodded and shot a String Shot at the Alolan Raticate, but Theodore shouted, "Dodge and use Headbutt!" Raticate dodged the string shot and charged at Weedle, but Franklin ordered a Poison Sting and Weedle shot it at Raticate, hitting the Raticate on the head. The Alolan Raticate slid after it took the Poison Sting head-on.
Aaron smiled as he called out his Caterpie and put it on the edge of the railing to watch Franklin, and Daphne looked at Caterpie while trying to not show her disgust for bug types. Franklin had Weedle use a String Shot on Raticate as it was recovering. Weedle did as Franklin shouted and shot a String Shot at the Raticate, entangling it up in the String Shot. Smiling, Franklin shouted, "NOW BUG BITE!" Weedle nodded and used Bug Bite on Raticate, doing massive damage. Theodore shouted to Raticate to use Iron Tail on Weedle since it was on his back.
"MOVE WEEDLE!" Shouted Franklin, but Weedle took the not-very-effective strike, though it was still effective as Raticate was higher level the strike caused Weedle to fall off him and with a second Iron tail, sent Weedle across the field, ending the battle as Weedle was unable to continue. Franklin ran over to Weedle and asked if she was ok. Weedle nodded her head as Theodore walked over with his Raticate and told him and Weedle that they put up a good match, but they could not win against the son of two Akala Island trial captains.
Later, Franklin got his Weedle back as Aaron and Daphne asked if he was ok and he told them, "I'm fine… this showed me that I got to get my Pokémon stronger if I'm ever gonna face Silver." Aaron told Franklin that he would support him, and Daphne agreed with him. Franklin smiled and thanked his friends. That night, Franklin had all his Pokémon out and told them that he would make sure they got good training when he felt something looking at him. Looking up from his Pokémon, Franklin saw a beast Pokémon standing a good distance away and the Pokémon said, "Train hard, and face me when you are ready." before it jumped away into the night, as fast as lighting. Franklin was speechless as his Pokémon looked on and that made them determined to train hard.
The next morning, Aaron, Daphne, and Franklin resumed their Journey as their first stop after Viridian City was Pewter City, where Aaron hoped to get his first badge from his dad's old friend Brock's Gym. Meanwhile, Ash and May were in their home as May leaned on her husband and asked him if their son would be ok. Ash kissed her cheek and said, "I know he will be May. He's got his Pokémon and the Oak cousins with him."
That was when he got a phone call. When Ash answered it, his face went pale. He then said, "Alert all regions, have Gym Leaders be on high alert, and get Interpol on the case." He hung up the phone as May said, "It's bad isn't it?" Ash nodded his head, looked at his wife, and said, "Giovanni's broke out of prison. I think he had help from the outside." May gasped, the man who was behind the War and leader of Team Rocket was out, and her son did not know that. Ash begins calling his friends to inform them about Giovanni's escape along with May calling her family and Hoenn champion Max, her brother. But in the back of her mind, she was worried about her son and his friends.
