Chapter 9

Team RWBY and JNPR have all ascended to the rank of Jedi knight. The Jedi masters and clones have arrived on Menagerie and are preparing for a battle with the White Fang. Kaiser and Umbra lead this battle.

Team CFVY gathered together in the Belladonna household. They were looking over the rumors of the White Fang assault. The reports looked like the White Fang had serious resources they would use in the next battle. Coco looked over the plans that Sun had stolen for them from the White Fang meeting.

Sun stood there arms folded across his chest.

"I still don't know how Rosa didn't see me." Sun said. Velvet looked down. They had heard that Rosa had become a Sith. Velvet wondered if there was still good in her.

"Could this be a trap?" Velvet asked.

"It doesn't seem likely. I wonder…" Sun said.

"What is it?" Fox asked.

"In Hellio I had a suspicion that the Sith there had many of the same ideas. We know Salem purges her followers when they get to be too big. Maybe this is no different. The Sith officially can't say no to any of her wishes, but that doesn't mean that they can't privately hold views that go against her." Sun said.

"So, you believe this to be a battle we are meant to win?" Yatsuhashi asked.

"That depends on us." Sun said.

General Fordo walked into the household. His helmet was destroyed at the Battle of Vale. He had a new helmet made from his old one. This one wasn't able to cover as much, and couldn't seal itself off against the air, but it does have most of the rest of the features.

Fordo stood at the desk and looked at everything that they had discovered.

"I have placed explosive mines in a few of the bases. We've also cleared out civilians around those bases." Fordo reported. Ghira and Mace Windu entered the room. Clones came in behind them.

"The White Fang must be destroyed. There is no alternative now!" Ghira said.

"The White Fang are just a front for Salem's troops. That's obvious at this point." Winter Schnee walked in the room, in her Jedi battle armor. Another ship was in the air, dropping off more troops.

The word of the battle went to all the civilians. Many of them started to leave the city and stayed on the ship Winter arrived in. Kaiser watched the civilians fleeing.

"I think we had an intruder at the meeting." Umbra said.

"That makes Salem's plan easier. But having Winter Schnee here makes it more complicated. She too has become a Jedi knight. She defeated a Sith Lord." Kaiser said.

"I see." Umbra said. Blake was helping the civilians get aboard the ships on the ground. Umbra watched her. Umbra no longer wore the mask. There was no point. They knew who she was.

"The Red Guard and a group of Jedi and clones have surrounded the Belladonna estate. Ghira may be out of reach now." Kaiser said.

"Was his death a part of the goal?" Umbra asked.

"It was a side bonus. With him gone, there would be no dissenting voices among the Faunus. I would be the sole voice of the Faunus." Kaiser said.

"Blake would probably rise up if her father was killed." Umbra said. Kaiser nodded his head.

"I suppose you are right." Kaiser said.

"Any news on Salem's special assignment?" Umbra asked.

"It hasn't been that long. I'm sure the women are being prepared right now." Kaiser said with a hint of annoyance.

"I don't want to do that again." Umbra said.

"Focus on the battle." Kaiser said.

"I know, I know." Umbra said. Kaiser turned to her and glared. It didn't work.

"Big scary Faunus leader." Umbra mocked. Kaiser sighed. He turned back to watch the evacuation. They both saw Blake leading civilians onto ships. Kaiser sat down next to Umbra.

"We haven't seen Pyrrha yet. Where could she be?" Kaiser said.

Pyrrha was floating in a bacta tank aboard the republic ship. She went there and had another x-ray. After the Oasis of healing, she swore that she felt the bone being recreated. She needed to make sure she wasn't just feeling what she wanted to. The x-ray came out, and the clones swore.

"That is a Kriffing miracle." The clone medic said.

"I'll be damned." The Jedi healer said.

"What is it?" Pyrrha asked.

"You were right. Not a lot of the bone is back, but some of it is. Take a look at this." The Jedi healer placed the x-ray in front of Pyrrha. She circled the bone with her finger. The tips of the vertebrae were back. It wasn't much… but it was enough!

"You're right. This is enough for us to try bacta." She said.

Pyrrha had been in the bacta tank for a week. She left the tank at the end of the week to do more check-ups. Another x-ray showed the bone had started to grow back more. The nerve endings were able to connect to the bone naturally there now.

"What does that mean?" Pyrrha asked.

"I'm going to take off your shoe. If I'm right…" The Jedi healer did as she said she was going to do. Pyrrha saw her barefoot there.

"Try wiggling your toe." She said. Pyrrha looked at the doctor with confusion and concern. Pyrrha closed her eyes and focused everything she could on moving her toe. Even if it was just one.

"You should open your eyes for this." The healer said. Pyrrha hesitantly opened her eyes, and she saw her big toe moving.

"Gods…" Pyrrha said. Tears started to fill her eyes. They began to pour down her face.

"That's right. This is the first step to recovery." The healer said.

"Thank you…" Pyrrha turned to her healer.

"Gael. Call me Gael." Gael said. She held out a box of tissues for Pyrrha. "It will take a lot more time in a bacta tank, but someday, you may be able to walk again. You may be able to fight again."

Pyrrha rushed back to the Belladonna house, in an LAAT, with medical troops getting ready for the battle ahead of them. The next day was going to be a long and tough one. But Pyrrha was ready. She was more ready to show Jaune the progress!

She got to the household and went as fast as she could to their room. She thrust open the door room, but didn't see Jaune. She heard him humming in the bathroom and opened the door.

"Jaune!" Pyrrha said.

"What! What is it?" Jaune said, tossing aside the shower curtain. Pyrrha pointed at her toe, ignoring that Jaune was naked. He looked at her toe then saw her moving her toe.

"That's amazing!" Jaune said. He started to jump out of the shower, only for Pyrrha and Jaune to both realize at the same time that may not be the best. Jaune looked at Pyrrha and blushed. Pyrrha took a second before she turned away from looking at him.

"Um… Pyrrha… Jaune…" Ren was facing forward, doing his best to ignore Jaune. Ren was brushing his teeth. Jaune brought his leg back into the shower. He slowly started to close the shower curtain.

"Ren! What's taking so long?!" Nora asked. She was washing their clothes around the corner with headphones on. "Pyrrha? Why is your face so red." She took her headphones off one ear.

"I'm sorry Jaune." Pyrrha said weakly.

"What! When did you get back Pyrrha?" Jaune asked, only grabbing part of the shower curtain.

"Just now." Pyrrha struggled to get out. Her hands were covering her face. She left the bathroom and waited for everyone to finish. Nora laughed hard when she heard what happened.

"It's only fair Jaune. Now you two have nothing to hide." Nora slapped Jaune on the back, knocking him forward. Jaune waved his hands trying to balance himself, before he fell on the floor.

"Oh, sorry Jaune." Nora grabbed him with one hand.

"Please at least pretend to struggle," Jaune said. Pyrrha showed everyone that she had started moving her toes again, and they all cheered for her.

"You're a miracle Pyrrha." Ren said.

"If anyone could do it, you could." Nora said.

"No one else is half as strong a person as you Pyrrha." Jaune said.

"This is only the start. I'm probably going to need more bacta baths, but this is the first step in the road to recovery!" Pyrrha said. For the first time in quite a while, she thought about her lightsaber against her hip. Once she could walk again, she would need to do a lot of training. She may have gotten a bit rusty. But her teammates would be more than willing to help her.

Ruby looked at the battle plan that Jaune had come up with. They were going to have to split their forces no matter what because of the white fang. Jaune would send Sun out there with the Jedi Hunter team CRMS, and Clone Commando squad Epsilon. Team CFVY also is going to join the outer defenses. They would take more Jedi and clones than that, but Ruby didn't know them.

Teams RWBY, JNPR, and the clones would defend the main city. They had the red guard forces and many squads of clones, which they strategically placed around the city.

The masters would join in the air battle. They would first play along with the rouse, but half would split off and return to the city. They had Winter's ship in the air with drop ships full of Jedi ready to launch wherever the Sith would appear.

"Pyrrha will take the sniper position in the attic of the house. She will be joined by two teams of clone snipers, and one team of regular clones. Blake, you and Nora will protect your parents. You will have the Red Guard elites and a squad of clone commandos with you. Ruby…" Jaune started to wonder where best to put her.

"I could join the sniper position." Ruby said.

"Not the same one. Here." He pointed at a guard outpost. Jaune tossed her a comm link.

"What's this for?" Ruby asked.

"You're the first line of defense. If you get overrun, you need to fall back immediately. But we need to know when you do." Jaune said.

"What about Ren, Weiss and I?" Yang asked.

"You three are going to be in the city. Ren, you will take the city center. You will be the only one fast enough left to get the weak spot on the tanks. Yang, you will take the pier." Jaune tossed her a comm link.

"I get one too." Yang said.

"We don't know if the White Fang have any reinforcements that will come through the water. But I have a feeling that they will do something with the docks. Weiss, you will take the residential district. We need as little damage as possible."

"Understood." Weiss said.

Jaune finished up the plans.

Pyrrha stopped Jaune before he left.

"What will you do?" Pyrrha asked.

"Battle Meditation, and healing. I'll be in the front lines." Jaune said. Pyrrha grabbed his shirt and pulled him into a kiss.

"Please be careful out there Jaune. And can you please make a plan where we are together?" Pyrrha asked.

"I did try." Jaune said. They moved to a corner of the room.

"Jaune… please be careful." She put her head on his shoulder.

"I will. If for nothing else, then for you." Jaune said.

"Alright. I'll keep you to that." Pyrrha said.

The next morning started to dawn. The Jedi were ready. Pyrrha woke up first and turned her head. She didn't know when Nora went to Ren's bed. They were sound asleep. Pyrrha turned her head and saw Jaune splayed out in his bed. She started to blush when she thought about how she had seen him the day before. She covered her mouth. Was she a pervert? She couldn't get the image out of her head. She turned around and saw Nora clinging to Ren and kissing him in her sleep. It was closer to slobbering on his cheek.

She shook her head. Pyrrha raised her hand and sent out a nudge through the force at Jaune.

"Nmmm…" Jaune sounded.

"Really?" She sent out another nudge. One more nudge, and he opened his eyes.

"Yeah?" He said, he brought his hand up to his face and tapped it a few times.

"Jaune… Can you help me?" Pyrrha whispered.

"Oh, yeah." Jaune helped her out of bed. She brought her finger to her mouth and pointed to Ren and Nora. Jaune smiled at that.

"It looks like she's trying to eat him." Jaune whispered.

"Do you think she's seeing pancakes?" Pyrrha whispered.

Everyone was up and getting ready for the battle ahead of them.

"This is it. Get everything you will need. These are the last peaceful moments you are going to have. Get ready for the fight." Winter said to the troops. They just had to wait now. She stood at the bridge of the ship. Waiting.

Jaune checking in with everyone one last time. He stood at the top of one of the houses. He spun his head to the house, to where Pyrrha was. He smiled and waved at her. She sent him a message.

"See you."

Ruby looked down the barrel of Crescent Rose, waiting for the first of the White Fang troops.

"Keep your mind focused on the battle ahead of you." Winter's voice sounded through the comms.

Weiss had moved the clones to more strategic locations around where the White Fang were going to come out. One of the troops had a grenade launcher aimed at the door of the base.

Kaiser turned to his people. They had an information blackout since Sun Wukong came here. Umbra noticed him but allowed the information to go. Kaiser agreed it was for the best. They didn't need to know that they were all about to die.

"Yuma, are your teams ready?" Kaiser asked over his scroll.

"Yeah boss. So are all the landing craft." Yuma said.

"Good. Make sure those pilots attack the pier. We need to stop the enemy from getting reinforcements." Kaiser said. He ended the call.

"Poor bastard. He doesn't know they already arrived." Umbra said. They were in the command center of the underground base. She watched the forces starting to move out.

"They will do their job." Kaiser said.

"Our job's the easy one. So, who did you get for the fall guy?" Umbra asked.

"Ilia. She's made it easy for us. She's tried contacting Blake. We caught her trying to warn her." Kaiser said.

"Oh, that's some good shit." Umbra said.

"Ilia may say she was trying to get the enemy not to believe any of the rumors." Kaiser said.

"Why does she want to help Blake. Last I saw, those two were on pretty bad ground." Umbra said.

"My only guess is that she had feelings for Blake at one point. And she's finally realized that those feelings are still around." Kaiser said.

"That's a bit of a stretch, don't you think?" Umbra said.

"You haven't had to see her search history." Kaiser said.

"What? Oh, you got dirt on her. Good job." Umbra said with a genuine compliment.

"Thank you. He took out his scroll again, and plugged it in. He took the microphone.

"This is it everyone. This is when the traitors feel our wrath. They rejected us, now they will see the consequences of that choice. Everyone… LAUNCH!" Kaiser ended the broadcast and turned to Umbra.

"Now you upload all the files. And we stay here." Umbra said.

"What are the plans if Ilia actually turns out to be a turncoat?" Umbra asked.

"Then she better die out there today." Kaiser said. He held out his hand.

"Oh, yeah, I need to send them." Umbra said. She handed Kaiser her scroll.

"To all, or just to Blake?" Kaiser asked.

"To all, why not." Umbra said.

Yang's scroll rang, and she saw a message from Rosa.

"What?" She opened it.

"Here are all the battleplans. We sent the men out." Rosa sent the message out.

"Yang, did you get that?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, I did."

"Why does it say that Ilia sent it out?" Weiss asked. The team call was joined by team JNPR.

"We have no time to look over their plans but look at the date. Rosa back dated these to a week ago. They're throwing Ilia under the bus." Jaune said.

"They also sent a file that was meant for you Blake." Ren said.

"Focus everyone, we can look over that later. It looks like everyone got the same package." Pyrrha said.

"Winter just sent a message over the Comm link. She got the package as well. Jaune reported."

"I can sense them now!" Ruby shouted. The call ended. Yang felt them a second later as well. She heard one of the bases blow up. She took out her lightsaber and turned it on. The clones around her all focused on the buildings around them.

The first wave of White Fang troops burst out of the base and ran into the streets.

"Fire!" Yang ordered. The clones opened fire on the White Fang. The White Fang spread out and began firing back. Yang blocked the strikes. Yang snapped her head over to a rocket flying her way. She sent out a force wave and sent it flying off. It exploded mid-air. A Sith group of Sith appeared next. They started to rush Yang. She held her lightsaber up. An LAAT opened in the air over Yang, and twelve Jedi jumped out. The More LAATs were launched from Winter's ship.

The Jedi and the Sith rushed at each other. One slipped past the other Jedi and rushed Yang. She brought her lightsaber in an upward arch, causing the other Sith to stop and block the strike. Yang brought her lightsaber down and slashed into the Sith, killing him instantly.

"These guys used to scare me." Yang said. She blocked a strike from another Sith.

"We still should."

Pyrrha saw the first wave of White Fang exit the base. She fired, killing one of the first troops. All the snipers around them started to fire. She fired at another one. She continued to fire, causing the troops to go into hiding.

Sun was at the base with the others. Nothing had happened yet.

"Are we sure you got this right?" Coco asked. Velvet turned her head, and her ears started to twitch.

"I hear a whistling noise. Shit. Bombers!" Velvet said. A second later, everyone else was able to hear the noise. Velvet was wrong. It wasn't just bombers. It was a massive fleet of snub fighters.

"We have contact!" Beat shouted over the comm link. The Venator turned its turrets around and began to launch their snub fighters. The bombers dropped their first load against the Venator's shield. The ground shook, but the shield stayed up. The turrets started to fire, and they took down a few of the fighters.

"Watch out everyone!" Sun yelled. An explosion shook the ground, and hundreds of White Fang soldiers came from the ground. They were outside of the defenses the Clones built. The clones nearest ran to the turrets that were set up and started firing at the White Fang.

Sun turned on his lightsaber and jumped to the top of the defensive wall. He started blocking shots.

"Team CFVY, make sure they don't get to the gates!" Sun shouted. A clone right by Sun was shot and fell off the wall. More ships started flying and making strafing runs on the defenders. Some got too low and crashed into the ground. The snub fighters were all launched, and the dogfights started.

Grimm started gathering from the desert and started making their way to the defensive lines. The clone pilots reported the Grimm first as they were taking down more and more pilots. The White Fang didn't train their pilots as well as the Clones were trained. But they were still losing ships.

"Great. We got Grimm coming too!" Sun shouted. The members of team CRMS got ready for the fight ahead of them. They all turned on their lightsabers and got ready for their fight. The clone commandos were already at the gates firing off at the oncoming threat. The land between the white fang and the wall did have places for cover. But the attack would only have worked if they were unaware of the attack.

Winter ordered the second and third Alliance ships in the air and to enter the battle over the new land. She was able to order the alliance troops because the White Fang attacked a member of the alliance, and at the moment that happened, the highest-ranking general in the area, her, was given control. Since they knew about the attack, she was able to get a few divisions of alliance troops to be placed right outside of the area. She had seven ships in total. Hers was the main one, but she was not playing any games with the white fang.

They killed her mother.

She turned back to the reports. The white fang weren't going to be the main concern. The large pockets of Grimm coming in from multiple directions on the other hand were a concern of hers. Since the bomb at Hellio worked, Atlas has put more money and research into making the bombs more usable. They were able to make them missiles now. She saw a large group of Grimm moving in their direction. She ordered the first set of missiles to be fired. It was far from the city itself, which had fallen into war.

The white fang tried to keep the attack going. They lost the power of surprise, but they still had hundreds or even thousands here.

"General! The first reports of enemy fighters coming this way have come in!" one of her officers said. She brought up the map and looked at the battlefields. The White Fang were able to get more of their troops in than she liked. The ships were concerning. She had no idea how they had so many. Some of the ships looked like they were made from stolen plans. It may have been just that. Somehow, they go the ships flying. They were on average weaker than the Clone ships. But they still could do some damage.

"Report from the missiles. 100% kill rate. The queen Grimm is fading as we speak." The officer said.

"Good. Send that information back to Ironwood." Winter could feel everything working right. She brought her comm up.

"Jaune Arc, are you using Battle Meditation right now?" Winter asked.

"Yes General." Jaune said. Winter smiled. He remembered how to properly address her.

"Sending Jedi support now." Winter said.

"Understood. I'm at the Medcenter tents." Jaune said. Winter raised her hand. An officer nodded and gave the clearance code. The ship left the bay.

"Jedi Knight Arc, you are not allowed to drop battle meditation. Do you understand?"

"Yes." Jaune said. There was strain in his voice. "I can sense your reinforcements. Do you have any other Jedi who can use battle meditation?" Jaune asked.

"We're sending them now." Winter said. She heard the pain in his voice. That was understandable. He was touching thousands of minds right now. She turned to the Jedi masters who organized the ships.

"The LAAT in bay 56." Jedi Master Black said.

"Understood." She sent the code and watched as that LAAT left the bay. Immediately they started Battle Meditation. She could feel the burden being lifted off Jaune.

"General, I'm going to lower my focus on battle meditation. I'm going to the Medcenter. The first wave has been brought." Jaune said.

"I understand." Winter said.

Ruby fired her last bullet or regular ammo, taking out another White Fang troop. She debated using dust bullets on them but shook her head.

"Nothing for it." Ruby put away Crescent Rose and took out her lightsabers. She opened her eyes wide and saw a bomber flying right at her. The ship was going down. She jumped away and was flung further into the air as the ship exploded. She used the force to protect her as she hit the ground. She rolled until she hit a building. She stumbled up and shook her head.

"I don't want to do that again." Ruby said. She saw two White Fang troop take out swords. She sighed. She blocked both swords and was reminded that the metals on Remnant had some lightsaber resistance to it. She stepped back and sent two force pushed against the troops they were flung into the guard outpost. They got up, and she rushed forward, slicing into both.

"This has gotten to be too easy." Ruby said. She wondered when it got so easy to kill. She jumped out of the building. A clone rushed past her and fired a rocket at the war droids that were walking in the streets.

"I don't remember those being in the plans!" Ruby said.

"No sir." The clone said. The rocket hit the droid. It turned its head to look at the clone. Ruby stepped in front of him and blocked the blaster bolt.

"Get to safety. I'll take care of this one." Ruby said. The clone got behind a building and loaded another missile. Ruby her semblance to rush forward. The war droid tried tracking her and fired if it thought it got a lock. Ruby landed on the ground and blocked the attack. She jumped in the air and spun. She put away her lightsabers and took out Crescent Rose. She spun down and brought down her Scythe into the head of the droid. She brought her scythe out of it. The droid was still moving. Ruby dropped and grabbed a hold of its head. She grabbed a shard of dust and placed it inside the whole. She jumped off the droid and used the force to activate the dust. The droid's head blew up. Ruby brought up her robes to block any debris.

"Careful everyone. We have war droids." Ruby said over the comm link.

"We have reports of more droids being used." Clone general Fordo said.

Fordo stood on top of a pile of war droids, reloading his pistols.

"The droids are Remnant standard. A few well-placed shots should take them down." Fordo said as he fired a shot at another war droid. The shot punctured the motors. He walked up to the useless droid and placed two simple shots. It was dead.

His men finished off a tank. Fordo joined up with his men.

"Jedi Knight Lie Ren has taken down four tanks and is currently fighting a Sith. A LAAT has just dropped off more Jedi." Fordo's second in command said. A Sith appeared behind Fordo. Fordo and his men rolled away. Fordo brought up his wrist and shot out an electric wire. The wire hit the heart of the Sith. He let out a scream. Fordo took out his pistol and fired twice into the head of the Sith. His men turned back to Fordo.

"They keep leaving themselves open." Fordo said.

Weiss was fighting a Sith using Shii-Cho. She was forcing the Sith on the back foot. The clones were firing at the white fang. The Sith and Weiss were on the same level. Weiss blocked each strike from the Sith with elegance and reserving much of her energy. The Sith stepped back and sent a wave of force lightning at Weiss. She brought up her lightsaber and blocked it. She was completely focused. She brought her front leg behind and spun around, blocking another strike. The Sith was moving slower.

"What?" She asked.

Weiss brought her lightsaber up, killing the Sith. She dropped her time glyph and turned around.

Weiss saw more White Fang troops coming. She sighed. How many of them were there?

Kaiser watched the battle unfolding. He was moving troops around to get as many kills as possible before they were lost. Umbra put a hand on Kaiser's arm before he was about to order an attack.

"No Kaiser, this is a classic Republic strategy. They will move back to make you over-extend before circling you with forces you didn't know they had." Umbra said.

"I see. What should I do?" Kaiser asked. She looked at the map.

"Bring a squad of bombers in the takeout that row of houses." Umbra said.

"Most of our bombers are busy." Kaiser said.

"It doesn't need to be many. Any that are dogfighting right now, send them." Umbra said.

"We have tanks in the area." Kaiser said.

"They would be left open. The Jedi are hidden throughout the city. And then there are those drop ships." Umbra said.

"How are the Sith performing?" Kaiser asked.

"It seems like they are taking on the Jedi pretty evenly, except for Team JNPR and RWBY. They are surprisingly effective against the Sith." Umbra said.

"They have just finished extremely intensive training. Of course they would be powerful." Kaiser said. He saw Umbra's expression change when he thought of them. Hope and fear at the same time.

"They have their choice. They seem to have abandoned you." Kaiser said. Umbra didn't say anything.

"The other attack site is going as well as we thought." Umbra said. Kaiser and Umbra jumped when they heard a knock at the door. Arthur Watts, Darth Memores, opened the door.

"Lady Salem wants to know how the battle is going." Memores said.

"The Sith are about on level with the Jedi. The clones are fighting the white fang clones." Kaiser said.

"Umbra, stand up." Memores said. Umbra did so. He sat down and looked at everything.

"Impressive. You are losing this battle well enough that I almost don't know it is on purpose." Memores said.

"The attack will fail. You can already see that I have pinned everything on Ilia." Kaiser said.

"This attack is really a distraction. Our forces are gathering in Mistral. Any survivors are to be sent there. Yuma and Trifa both should be called back. Reveal to them there was a traitor, and the mission was a failure. Have them use the battle as a way to get to Mistral. Tell them you will deal with the traitor. Get all of their most important people out. Abandon Ilia. The clones are ready to die for the fight. Lady Salem also agreed to send more Grimm to help with the evacuation. Let no Sith return." Memores stood up.

"I will take control of the battle from here. You two prepare the evacuation. These orders come directly from Salem herself." Memores said. Kaiser stood up.

"What are you going to do?" Kaiser asked.

"Change the plans. They need to lose, but we're going to make it look closer than this." Memores said.

Kaiser grabbed his scroll and called Yuma and Trifa. Kaiser and Umbra left the war room.

"Boss? We're kind of busy right now." Yuma said.

"We have a traitor in our midst. They sent the alliance all the details of the attack." Kaiser said.

"What?" Trifa said.

"We're going to need you and your teams to extract yourselves from the battle. Leave the clones behind. Use the battle to cover your escape. We're moving to Mistral. I'll take care of the traitor Ilia." Kaiser said.

"Ilia?" Yuma sounded shocked.

"She fell for Belladonna's tricks. She sent them our battle plans. Everyone who dies here is killed because of her." Kaiser said. He turned off his scroll.

"That should keep you in power." Umbra said. Kaiser shook his head.

"Exactly." Kaiser said.

Sun continued to block the strike. But he wasn't on the wall anymore. It was being overrun by Grimm. The clones continued to fire at them, killing countless Grimm, but the hoard was massive.

Jedi Huntress in training Ciru, leader of team CRMS, was next to Sun as she decapitated another Grimm.

"Can we get one of those light missiles?" Rator, the Miraluka member of team CRMS said.

"I thought we were going to be fighting people, not Grimm." Meta Muvil, the Arkanian with white skin, complained.

"At least we're together." Sernu, the Corellian Male, said. Jedi Master Kit Fisto's ship flew over them and fired a missile. He was given two smaller experimental versions of the large missiles on the ships. All the Jedi were. There was a queen Grimm in the center of a hoard that roared out. The two missiles hit the outer wall of Grimm and exploded. Mace Windu was right behind Kit and fired his missiles. The queen Grimm was still alive before the missiles hit it. It faded away.

"They could be stronger." Sun said. The Grimm around them started to grow weaker and die. Another alliance ship arrived and dropped more troops off. Former Jedi Master Quinlan Vos landed his ship in the defensive barrier.

"I'm staying here. The other masters are going back to the city. More Sith have appeared there." Quinlan said to Sun. Sun nodded his head.

Beat reloaded his blaster rifle and took careful aim. He was running low on ammo.

"Do we have more rounds near us?" Beat asked.

"I think I see some." Cy said. There was a large hole in the wall before they could get to the ammo depot. The White Fang troops continued to fire. Another white fang ship came crashing down. The White Fang were better trained this time around than at Hellio. Another clone dropped from the wall. Beat grabbed his blaster and started firing at the white fang.

"Go Cy!" Beat commanded. "Cross, give him cover."

Cy started running. He switched his blaster into the grenade launcher and fired where a group of White Fang were hiding. He saw more rising. He jump-rolled the rest of the way there and got to the tent. He grabbed a bag full of their ammo. He grabbed another bag of explosives. He refilled his grenade launcher and turned back. He saw one of the stolen Atlesian Paladin-290 coming through the hole in the wall. He brought his blaster up and fired a grenade at it.

"We got a Paladin at the gates." Cy said over his comms.

"Copy." Beat said. Team CRMS also arrived. The Paladin turned to Cy.

"Shit." Cy said. He ran away from the tent and rolled to the side. He swung around and fired another grenade at the Paladin. Meta rushed it with her silver blade. It swung its arm around and slammed into Meta's stomach. She flew a few feet back and spat up blood.

Cy fired another grenade at it. Ciru rushed in and grabbed Meta. She sent out a force push at the paladin, knocking it off balance. Cy fired another grenade at it and saw that one of the joints in the arm was broken. Sernu jumped up from behind and landed on the paladin. He spun quickly with his orange blade and cut one of the lines on the back of the paladin. The window began to fog up. Rator rushed in and grabbed hold of the outside of the Paladin's cockpit. He took out his cyan blade and turned it on inside the cockpit.

"I think the pilot's dead." Rator quickly created a whole in the window and jumped away.

"I'll make sure of it." Cy fired a fourth grenade into the cockpit and watched as the paladin exploded.

"Cy stop playing around and get back here!" Beat shouted.

"Coming sir." Cy nodded at the Jedi and ran back. He saw beat and tossed the bags at him.

"Just ran out of ammo too." Cross said. He took out his pistol and fired at the enemy. Beat tossed him a magazine.

"That paladin was a pain." Cy said.

"It does plug up the hole nicely." Tip said as he fired his last grenade. He dropped down from the top, a four-meter drop. His armor took all the impact.

"Three squads of fighters have left the battle and went flying towards Mistral." Tip explained.

"Anything else?" Beat said.

"Since they were all fighters, it doesn't seem like they would be much trouble." Tip said.

"We got Sith coming!" Sun said. Everyone turned back to the front lines. Dozens of red lightsabers littered the field. Four LAATs came out of the alliance ship that arrived. The Jedi came out and activated their lightsabers.

"They have been way too bold recently." Karel Allusis said. Bora Lone and a drop ship full of Mandalorians arrived. Bora turned to another Mandalorian warrior and nodded. The other Mandalorian warrior took off her helmet and revealed that she was a Faunus. She wore dark red armor with black highlights. Her dark skin was highlighted by the white hair and black strips of her Snow Leopard heritage.

"They killed Seinna." Nix Khan said. She had so many similar features to her sister. Sun heard about her. Seinna left the Khan Mandalorian clan and joined the white fang, leaving her younger sister to take up the clan head mantle. Before, she didn't work with the Jedi. But after many Mandalorians were killed in Vale, she entered talks with the Jedi. After two Sith killed Seinna, she had fully joined in.

The Sith charged forward. Sun ordered the clones off the top of the wall. Many of them disengaged and started climbing down. A few stayed but were quickly killed when their blaster fire came back at them. Many of the Sith jumped to the top of the wall and dropped down.

Sun brought his lightsaber up and blocked a strike. The Sith were still coming. He felt they were at least 100 strong. He wondered if they would be getting any more Jedi allies. He felt these Sith were weaker than the ones they fought at Vale. Sun spun under the strike from a Sith and brought his lightsaber behind him. The Sith blocked the strike by bringing his lightsaber behind him. Sun smirked as a blaster bolt went through the Sith's heart. Cross smirked and turned back.

"Good one commandos." Sun said.

Karel jumped over the remains of one of the crashed fighters and brought his lightsaber down. The Sith jumped back and brought his lightsaber up to block Karel's next strike. A second Sith sent a force push at Karel. He dodged the attack and rolled back up to a defensive position, blocking another strike from the first Sith. Karel stepped back as the second Sith swung his lightsaber where Karel was standing. Karel was walking backward as he kept blocking the two Sith. The first was using Shii-Cho, while the second was using Djem So. Karel brought his lightsaber up to block both strikes at once. Bora fired into the backs of both Sith. They dropped.

"They focus so much on you Jedi; they forget anyone else is here." Bora said. She quickly put two more shots into each of them.

"Was that necessary?" Karel asked.

"Need to make sure they couldn't get back up." Bora said.

"Fair enough. Have you seen Rouge?" Karel asked.

"She's handling herself well." Bora said.

Rouge was fighting a Sith. Her Niman was strong, but not the best match against the Sith's Shein. She blocked a strike and rolled backward. The Sith overextended and she quickly brought her lightsaber up. The Sith ducked back, but the lightsaber still hit the Sith's eye. She stepped back and held her lightsaber in a defensive position as she saw the Sith get up, holding his eye. He sent a blast of force lightning. Rouge brought her lightsaber up and blocked the attack. The force lightning hit the Sith, sending him back. Rouge closed her eyes as she charged forward, ramming him though the heart with her lightsaber as he got back up.

The Sith looked down and dropped his lightsaber.

"Salem betrayed us…" He said as he fell and died.

Rouge quickly brought her lightsaber back up and blocked two blaster bolts, sending them back into the white fang clones who shot at her. She saw five landing craft coming from the desert. It touched down, and five squads of white fangs clones entered the fight inside the defensive walls. They fired, killing a Jedi fighting a Sith.

"We have to keep our eyes open for those landing craft coming back." Rouge said.

Nix brought the black lightsaber through the body of one of the clones and brought her blaster pistol. She fired, killing three of them.

"They keep coming. Where the hell do they keep coming from?" Nix asked herself as she spun around, taking the head of another clone. A howl came out from her second in command as he brought out his shotgun and flew to his next kill. He was a wolf Faunus called Hunter. He looked like the stereotypical strong grunt, and in battles like this, it could been seen that way, but she was more than muscle. Nix saw how he brought the Human survivalist clan, a radical terroristic human force like the HDF, to its knees. Not by force, but by cunning. She brought her blaster pistol up and fired at more white fang clones. These were not true faunus. They were cheap copies. Mockeries that even the humans never dreamed of making.

Pyrrha continued to fire at the white fang troops. She fired, and heard the magazine fly out of her rifle. She leaned down to grab another magazine from the floor and saw a bullet rip through where she just was. She turned her head and saw another sniper drop.

"They found us." Pyrrha said. She closed her eyes. She had to do something. She saw another shot fired and kill another sniper.

"Get away from the windows!" Pyrrha said. The clones did so. She closed her eyes. She used the force to feel her surroundings. She felt the marksmen aiming at her last position. She tried feeling for more enemy snipers out there. She felt the Jedi and the Sith fighting. She felt Ren taking down another tank. She felt a group of them abandon the fight and return. She felt the red guard out front fighting to keep the house safe from the attack.

She felt her enemy. She couldn't possibly get back to her old position. She moved back and raised her rifle. Her eyes were closed, but her eyesight was better. She cleared away all those distractions. She took a breath. She fired her rifle, the bullet ripped through the wood of the attic. She reloaded her shot and aimed again. She fired again, in the same spot. The first bullet lost a lot of momentum from breaking through the wood. It fell short.

Pyrrha saw the bullet flying in slow motion. It flew and she saw the sniper. The bullet ripped through his heart. He fell backward, leaving a trail of blood behind.

"I got him." Pyrrha said, opening her eyes.

"Hell of a shot Jedi." a sniper said.

Pyrrha's head shot up and her eyes opened wide.

"Get out of here! We have a fighter coming right at us!" Pyrrha said. The clones jumped down the ladder, dropping three meters quickly. Pyrrha felt a clone grab hold of her. But a stray blast came rushing through and hit him in the chest. He dropped Pyrrha as he died. She brought up her aura as she hit the ground. She was stuck in the attic. She started to crawl, but knew the fighter would crash before she could get down.

"Trust the force." She heard Shaak Ti tell her. She closed her eyes and used the force on herself. She lifted her body off the floor and moved herself closer to the stairs. Her concentration broke when she heard the fighter explode. An ARC-170 destroyed the fighter before it could hit the house. Pyrrha made sure her aura was up right before face planting on the stairs. A clone caught her.

"Are you alright commander?" He asked.

"Yes. My aura kept me from harm." Pyrrha said. She felt a pressure on her nose. Instead of it being broken, it felt like someone pushed on it.

"I'll get one of my men to get your chair." The clone holding her said.

"Thank you." Pyrrha said.

Jaune reached out for Pyrrha when he saw the fighter explode. He let out a sigh of relief when she sent him a feeling that she was ok. He turned back to the Jedi he was dealing with. They were shot in the liver. The clone medic took out the bullet and gave the Jedi a drug. Jaune brought his hands forward and used his semblance on the Jedi. The Jedi let out a pained moan. Jaune brought his head down and sighed. This was the first Jedi he saved today. Two others died as he was trying to save them. He had no idea who they were, but he felt the tragedy as they died in his arms.

Ilia brought her knife out of a clone and started breathing heavily.

"These guys are strong." Ilia said. She turned around and saw her squad mates look up from their scrolls.

"You bitch." One of them said.

"What?" Ilia said. They raised their blasters at her.

"You betrayed us! You sold us out!" They started firing. Ilia jumped to the top of a roof. She took out her whip.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Ilia said. One of the shots barely missed her. Another grazed her arm. She dropped and got back up.

"You told Belladonna our plans." One of them shouted. Ilia's heart skipped a beat. Her scroll began to ring. It opened and she heard Kaiser's voice.

"I can't believe you tried to tell Blake about the battle. I really can't believe you thought we wouldn't notice. You are a traitor, Ilia. And you will face a traitor's death." Kaiser said. The call ended. She realized this was never meant to be a battle they would win. She was the fall guy. She had just lost all her allies. One of her men took aim at her. She took out her weapon and quickly hit the troop in the heart. He dropped. She dropped down and grabbed his blaster and aimed it at her former allies. She fired, taking two more down. She saw Weiss Schnee turn the corner. They took a step back and fired at Weiss. Ilia fired again, taking one more down. Weiss Schnee rushed forward, and in a few seconds, they were all dead. Ilia felt her hands shaking.

She dropped the blaster as Weiss turned her attention to her.

"Ilia. You are coming with me." Weiss said.

"Why don't you just kill me now?" Ilia said. She turned black. Weiss used the force to pick Ilia off the ground.

"I never said anything about killing you." Weiss said. A clone came up behind Weiss.

"You asked for us commander?" He asked.

"Stun her." Weiss said.

"Wait, what?" Ilia asked. The next thing she saw was the stun round being fired at her. She fell unconscious.

"I got Ilia. I'll be bringing her back to the house." She said over comm.

Yang took out another Sith. She started breathing heavily. She had just taken down her fifth Sith. She turned and saw another Sith fall. She looked and could have sworn she saw Rosa. She ran after Rosa who went into one of the old bases. She burst through the door and saw four white fang clones. She made quick work of them and saw Rosa standing at the bottom of a set of stairs leading toward the underground base.

"Rosa!" Yang shouted.

"Yang." Umbra said.

Yang took a few steps into the hallway and heard the doors close behind her. She turned around for a second and turned back to see Umbra standing there.

"Rosa, why did you join the Sith? Yang asked.

"I think you know." Umbra said. The ground shook as a massive explosion rang out throughout the docks.

"What was that?" Yang asked.

"The white fang have planted more of those bombs throughout the city. The last of the dust stolen from Vale is being used here." Umbra explained. Yang followed Rosa down the stairs.

"Rosa, please, come back to us." Yang begged.

"You know I can't. Not after what they did." Umbra said.

"Maku's dead. He can't hurt you anymore." Yang said.

"I know Maku's dead. I killed him!" Umbra spun around, pointing a finger at Yang. "But you don't seem to understand what exactly he did. He did more than just hit me. He stole my memories Yang. Do you not understand what that did to me? Years of anxiety were caused because of his meddling. I lost who I was. He built me up to be someone he could easily kill Yang. He made me do things that were terrible than wiped the memory away!"

"Did he… touch you?" Yang asked.

"He said no. But I don't know. He could have. He could have done whatever he wanted with me and no one would have been the wiser. He emotionally abused me too. He isolated me from my friends. He kept me weak. Every time I was beat so bad I had to go to the bacta tank was because of him. Every time I almost died because I didn't have the right skills to deal with my situation was because of him. Do you remember that night where Vanus carved into his chest, and I felt all the pain? That was because of him." Umbra said.

"Rosa. I'm sorry. I didn't know." Yang said. Umbra slammed Yang against a wall and glared into her soul.

"You knew what happened to me at Vettom. You knew the Sith targeted me. You knew that Maku fucked with my memories Yang. You knew this but I didn't! How the fuck could I have been ready to deal with the Sith? Tell me!" Umbra lowered her head and dropped Yang. Yang just sat there.

"You're right. I did fail you. I wasn't the person you see now. The masters… they were wrong not to trust you. Even they can see that now. Maku was evil. He slipped through the cracks. You were a victim. But look at you now." Yang said as she stood up. Umbra turned back to Yang.

"I will never let the Jedi hurt me again Yang. The Sith won't hurt me like the Jedi did." A tear gathered in Rosa's eyes.

"The Sith are hurting you, Rosa. All the time. You are doing things that should disgust you. These are innocent people. You are attacking them." Yang said.

"What innocent people? I know you have been evacuating the civilians since Sun snuck into our meeting." Umbra said.

"You knew then… Why did you let him escape?" Yang asked.

"Lady Salem wants to purge those not loyal to her." Umbra said.

"Who's Salem?" Yang asked.

"Have they still told you nothing? Not even Sun? The Darkness that has been at war with the Jedi for centuries. That's who Salem is. Someone who has complete mastery over the dark side. The leader of the Sith. The woman who has organized everything. Don't you see Yang. This has always been connected. She saw the darkness in me since before I came to Remnant. She sent Cyan as Cya to the docks. She truly leads the white fang. She started our war at Hellio. She is the reason Atlas was bombed. She targeted me." Umbra said.

"Why would they care so much about you? You were just a padawan." Yang said.

"She wanted my body at first. She wanted to make me her vessel. She would have taken control of my body as her own. Because of my special talent for force drain. But now she wants a child of mine." Umbra said.

"Rosa, you aren't…"

"No. But she has exactly what she wants. My cells, mixed with Kaiser's. She will have a new vessel." Umbra said.

"Rosa, she's using you." Yang said.

"Of course she is Yang! Don't think I'm stupid! But she's honest about using me. Maku used me. He made me kill people. He made me go into places I never should have gone. He hid it." Umbra said.

"This isn't right Rosa. This isn't you." Yang pleaded.

"Who am I then Yang? Please, tell me without any of the Jedi Bullshit I know you were about to say. I have no fucking idea who I really am because of Maku. Because he decided to fuck with my memories. Who the fuck does that? I have no idea what is real and fake anymore. The Sith is the only thing left that I can trust." Umbra said.

"You are no Sith. You are a kind and understanding person Rosa. You care about those around you. That's why you feel emotions! You understand better than everyone else what others feel." Yang said. Umbra saw more white fang clones coming up. She raised her hand and shut the door.

"Yang… how can I trust anything Maku taught me? He taught me how to use those emotions. He taught me how to make those stupid emotional masks." Rosa said.

"We all miss you, Rosa. We can get over this, together. Trust me." Yang said.

"I trusted you before. To tell me the truth and to keep me safe from the Sith. You broke my trust back in Vale. You all did. You left the arena! You could have stayed and fought to keep me safe. But you left! You left me behind. All of you. You got so powerful so quickly that you never looked back. I was there, alone. And the Sith saw that." Rosa said.

"Come with me, Rosa. We can start to fix all this. You have no loyalty to the Sith." Yang said.

"Why don't you join me? I know that you struggle with the darkness. I can sense that now." Umbra said.

"I can never join you. But I can save you." Yang said.

"Summer Rose believed that anyone could be saved. That's what got her captured." Umbra said.

"Summer Rose is dead. You know that." Yang said.

"Is there a body at that grave?" Umbra asked.

"What are you trying to say?" Yang said. Her hand unknowingly went down to her lightsaber.

"I don't believe Summer Rose is dead Yang." Umbra said. Umbra opened the door back up and a squad of white fang clones entered. Umbra disappeared as Yang started to cut through the enemy.

She saw an empty staircase leading deeper into the underground HQ. Yang brought up her comm link and activated it.

"I found the enemy HQ." Yang said.

"Thank Gods you responded. We thought you were killed in that explosion." Winter said.

"I found Rosa. I followed her into one of the bases." Yang reported.

"The Pier is severely damaged." Jaune said.

"Are we able to get more people into the underground?" Yang asked.

"We're going to send a few people, including Ruby down with you." Winter said. Yang turned back to the entrance door as two silver blade made a massive hole in it and were flung behind. Ruby stood there for a second and started breathing heavily and rushed in, hugging Yang.

"I thought we lost you." Ruby said.

"It's okay Ruby." Yang hugged Ruby. Yang and Ruby turned back to the open doorway. The floor they were on was being flooded with clones, and Jedi were now from all over. The battle on the surface was changing. The White Fang started going back into the HQ.

"I spoke with Rosa for a few minutes." Yang said. Ruby looked up at Yang.

"She's not doing too well." Yang said.

"I see."

Kaiser watched as the enemy forces realized they could enter the HQ. Darth Memores made the last command and stepped out of the battle room.

"Let's see how they do now." Memores said to Kaiser. "The databanks are mostly gone now. Only the ties to Mistral still exist. The enemy has entered the upper most floors. They are going to come down soon. Get Umbra and get out. The peons can handle the rest of this."

"Understood." Kaiser said. Memores opened a portal and walked through. Umbra stepped through the door going to this floor. Kaiser turned around and saw her.

"What did you think you were doing?" Kaiser asked.

"You know exactly what I did Kaiser. I had to save her." Umbra said.

"She's a Jedi Umbra. What part of that don't you get?" Kaiser reached for Umbra. Umbra grabbed his hand.

"Don't touch me." Umbra said. Kaiser brought his hand back.

"I… I didn't mean to grab at you." Kaiser said.

"You wanted to grab my face, right? Try to get me to understand that Yang is a Jedi and there's no hope for her? Is that what you were going to say? Forget it. I've already heard everything they have said. I know all the arguments they use as to why I should just give up. But I won't." Umbra said. She let go of his hand.

Winter watched as the pier exploded. Most of the homes there were leveled completely and many of the teams there were killed. She tried getting in contact with Yang and any other survivor. The White Fang made sure that Menagerie was going to suffer for siding with the humans. She noticed that many of the White Fang forces began to retreat into the underground HQ. She got in contact with Yang shortly after that.

She looked over everything from up here. There were still some enemy units, mostly Sith above ground. The Belladonna household was still under heavy fire, but the Jedi there have been keeping the Belladonnas safe for now.

"General, we have readings of Grimm in the ocean and the air coming our way!"

"Understood." Winter said.

She focused her attention on the Grimm. Not on the underwater ships leaving the HQ. Her attention was brought back to the city when another bomb went off close to where Weiss was stationed. Winter was about to call her when she remembered Weiss took one of the leaders back to be questioned.

"We need someone to find the rest of those damn bombs!" Winter shouted. The ships started scanning the city.

"We got three more seen. The Medcenter, the Belladonna household, and the Center of town." One of her officers said.

"We received. Going to deal with them now." Mace Windu said. He opened his ship and jumped out. His ship went back to the docking bay. Kit Fisto did the same thing. Mace went to the center of town as Kit went to the Medcenter.

"We still have one under the Belladonna household!" Winter shouted.

"We've got it." Nora said.

"Your job is to protect the Belladonnas!" Winter shouted.

"I'm the closest one with a strong skill with Tutaminis. If it goes off, we need that. It's the only possible way." Nora said.

"We have other Sith who can defend my parents." Blake said.

"I don't like this." Winter said.

"Do you have another option?" Nora asked.

"No." Winter said.

"Then I'm going." Nora said. Blake followed Nora as they were sent the coordinates of the bomb. It was placed in the underground of the house, in a room that was meant to be a way to escape if needed. Blake swore as she saw where they were going.

"Let's hope there's no one waiting for us." Blake said.

"I doubt it." Nora said. They ran around the house. Blake led Nora to the hidden escape route. Nora jumped in first and was followed by Blake. A few clones joined them. A team of bomb removal clones arrived shortly after.

The Grimm came into sight. Winter fired at them. She had to believe in the knights. It was their only hope.

Author's Notes: Next chapter done. The Battle has started, and many of the major players have already left. But there are still the bombs.

Umbra has finally spoken to one of her old teammates after the reveal. There is still a lot there that they need to work on.

Next chapter is probably the last one in Menagerie. Then we move on to Mistral. Oscar's probably going to run into the teams soon.
