Naruto Rose the Champion of Light
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or RWBY. Naruto is owned by Masashi Kishimoto and RWBY is owned by Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth respectively. Certain elements were inspired by various Naruto/RWBY crossover fanfictions. I asked permission from Fairy Tail Dragon Slayer to use certain elements like Naruto being the twin of Ruby Rose before I started and got permission.

AN1: Guys the PM email notifications are NOT working right now. I heard FF took that function down. So, I am replying to everyone ok! You have to check your PM inbox like I do to see response any PMs! (go to your name in top right corner, left bar- Private Messaging-inbox and tada all the messages go through but you won't get emails saying it did! This goes for all my stories! Check your box for PMs and actually read them!
-The PM started like December 2018 (I think?) and I don't think it will change since its not a glitch but intentional change…
So basically since November 1st (basically Daylight savings) the site has been bugged! new chapters or stories past starting November 1st have not been working! so the site is still bugged as hell BUT the Fanfic App (once you search for the stories) still works! it shows recent updates once you get to stories!]!
I think the issue has been resolved as of November 5/2020!
Plus reviews people so I can chat with you about anything really!
I know forever right? RWBY is something I have more trouble writing as there are a lot of fighting scenes in the series and trying to adjust them so Naruto doesn't take over completely is hard.
Chapter 9 Naruto and Grimm are not buddies
Naruto was watching on top of a tree his sisters and where they currently were as he lazily threw throwing knives into the heads of various Grim. He had leapt several trees till he was a short distance away from Yang while still tossing and killing troublesome Grimm in both the air and trees.
"So Yang is right now freaking about her hair being slightly cut by that Ursa huh." Naruto whispered choosing to let his sister vent her anger at the soulless Grimm. Ursa Grim were big black Grim with a mask and red eyes. They also appeared to be like a bear switching from walking on 4 legs to its hind legs.
'Funny how obsessed she is about her hair. I mean I get it super pretty and nice smelling but I still don't get why strand it being cut makes a difference.' Naruto thought before he shook his head.
'I still have it hard to believe that Yang claims she has a video of a younger me chewing on her hair as a toddler. I mean I am only 2 years younger than her so she could not have taken it as a toddler.' Naruto grumbled before his eyes widened in horror.
'Unless! Mom did record everything about our childhood so maybe she recorded embarrassing moments of me as a kid!' Naruto thought in horror. Sure he got his original memories of Naruto Uzumaki back but in his original life he had nowhere near as happy and normal childhood as this one. He still considered his original mom kickass but Summer was the super mom. In his honest opinion he did not think Kushina would be nearly as kind as Summer was if Minato had fallen in love with someone else first and had a kid from a previous marriage.
Naruto frowned when he saw an Ursa Grimm about to attack Yang from behind as she was raging out at the fading corpse of the first Ursa. He was about to intervene until he saw the black-haired girl Blake stab the Grim with her short black Katana split into 2 parts one for each hand.
'Hmm they look like they can be good partners so I will go where Ruby is instead.' Naruto thought as he silently leapt away to the point where even Blake did not hear and smell him.
Naruto spent the next bit of time just enjoying killing Grimm by throwing a knife into skull, crushing them with a punch to their chest or sending a fireball into a group of them and watching them turn to dust.
'I would feel bad using Grimm to relax but based on what the God of Light showed me these beings are actually even more soulless than White Zetsu who were stripped down people. Grimm honestly to me are just negative emotions giving a monstrous form.' Naruto mused as he punched an Ursa crushing its skull with a single punch. AN2:
He leapt from tree to tree searching for Ruby before he noticed a giant shriek in the distance. He started sprinting until he saw a Giant Nevermore flying in the air with someone caught in its talons.
He scanned Ruby falling before using her semblance to dash out on the air and onto a tree safely. Ruby fired shots from her sniper/scythe while the Nevermore continued to swerve out of the way while Weiss was caught in its Talons tightly preventing her from swinging her rapier at its talons.
Naruto sighed as he looked uninterested at Weiss before jumping in the air with several quick and high leaps until he was above the Nevermore.
'Suppose I can't Weiss get eaten, can I? She might be a brat but choosing to not help her would prove her holier then thou attitude she inherited from her father and rich life style.' Naruto thought sourly before he stopped hovering in the air and dropped right on top of the Nevermore's head.
"Hey ugly drop her." Naruto commanded as the Nevermore just squawked at him louder holding onto Weiss even tighter.
"You buffoon! You are only making it angrier!" Weiss screeched in pain as Naruto rolled his eyes.
"Whatever you say Princess." Naruto said drily making Weiss even angrier at the nickname he used for her. He than sent a drop kick on the Nevermore skull making it screech in shock as it started to plummet to the ground from the kick.
Weiss screamed as she fell to the ground when the Nevermore lost its grip on Weiss making Weiss scream as she started to freefall uncontrollably.
"Aah!" Weiss screamed before Naruto leapt off the Nevermore's head and burst through the air at high speed.
In moments he zoomed past Weiss and steadied himself to catch the Schnee Heiress in his arms in the bridal position as he slowed their descent to the point where they were very gently falling from the sky.
"Geez Princess you sure have a pair of lungs on you." Naruto joked as Weiss had instinctively closed her eyes in terror and when Naruto caught her, she clung onto his neck with both of her slim arms.
Naruto had one arm underneath her knees and underneath her short skirt while the other was around her back and with her arms around her neck somebody could mistake them to be a lover embrace.
When Weiss heard his voice, she opened her eyes and blinked several times looking down to see them slowly descent to the ground.
Weiss then looked to see it was Naruto who caught her making her get flustered with red cheeks as her heartrate sped up drastically being so close to a boy and feeling his hard muscles press into the small more petite body.
'What is wring with me?! I am a Schnee not a helpless little girl waiting for a Prince!' Weiss thought to herself before she realized her arms were around his neck as she pulled back but then reluctantly held his shoulders.
Weiss pride was overridden by common sense when she saw she was not in the best position to be greedy. It did not help his body felt unusually warm against her own especially the one arm beneath her knees.
"Cat got your tongue Weiss?" Naruto asked warmly as she huffed refusing to look into his blue eyes.
"Hmph! I was doing just fine. Thank you very much." Weiss said pridefully looking away with a proud huff as Naruto playfully rolled his eyes.
"What you Schnee can't say thank you when you need help or at least get it?" Naruto retorted as Weiss frowned with a conflicted look.
"Fine. Naruto Rose I suppose I need to give you thanks for your… assistance." Weiss said stiffly with a grateful nod refusing to state outright that Naruto saved her.
Naruto grinned at her before her got near her ear making Weiss gasp.
"You know what Weiss? I learned something about you today I was not expecting." Naruto whispered as Weiss cheeks turned red again.
"Despite your hard attitude I learned that…" Naruto whispered dramatically making Weiss tense up.
"You really like white and that you have shockingly sexy and lacy underwear despite your skirt length." Naruto added into her ear as Weiss's mind blanked for a moment.
"Eh?" Weiss asked dumbly before the implications reached her mind.
"You pervert! You looked up my skirt!" Weiss screamed at Naruto slapping him with all her might.
Naruto laughed it off even as a hand print appeared on his cheek as they reached the ground with Naruto letting Weiss onto her feet as she leapt back with her Rapier pointing at the laughing Blonde haired boy with red tips.
"Hey I was below you and I got to say with someone as prudish as you. You think you would wear stockings or even shorts underneath your skirt! I mean even my twin wears at least stockings so guys can't see up her skirt directly but not you." Naruto pointed out as Weiss got angrier only to back off when she saw Ruby approach with Yang and Blake soon converging as well.
AN3:
"Bro!" Yang shouted happily pressing Naruto into her chest like usual as Naruto just waved with his free hand not in any mood to rush getting smothered by his busty older sister.
Yang was soon pulled off by Ruby who glomped her twin as he grinned at his sisters.
"Miss me?" Naruto asked with a smirk as Yang winked back at him and Ruby just hugged him tighter.
Blake just sighed before noticing Weiss glaring at Naruto and a red hand print on his cheek.
"Hey Naruto. What happened to your cheek?" Blake asked as Ruby stepped back and gasped when she saw a hand print on her beloved twins' cheek. Naruto chuckled nervously watching his older sister eyes start to turn red.
He grabbed Yangs hand quickly making her eyes turn back to violet as she gave a quick questioning look to Naruto.
"Weiss simply did not appreciate being rescued but we talked it out afterwards. Right Weiss?" Naruto asked as Weiss huffed but nodded.
"I apologize and I believe I overreacted abit." Weiss said looking away. She refused to admit that Naruto may be right about her skirt and panties so she could live with saying she overreacted.
Ruby looked at Naruto and nodded while Yang pulled her hand away from Naruto but walked up to Weiss with a glare.
"Understand this. Next time you hit my brother without a good reason you and me will have problems. Got that?" Yang asked icily with Weiss nodding quickly.
Then the small group saw the Nevermore from before return with a squawk as they readied their weapons before Naruto saw that Pyrrha and several other people where at the bottom fighting off a Death Stalker.
Naruto was about to help Ruby and the others out with the Nevermore until he heard distant growling and sensed something was off.
Much to the women's shock Naruto soon leapt and started to run back into the forest.
"What are you doing?! The fights over here!" Yang shouted as Naruto turned around while still running to address the group.
"Hey its 4 on one for both battles! 5 on one is a little unfair!" Naruto joked as Weiss got an annoyed expression on her face while Ruby and Yang both sweatdropped. Blake turned back to the Nevermore who growled at the girls.
"Consider this team building exercise!" Naruto added as he soon vanished into the forest.
'Sorry Yang, sorry Ruby but your groups will soon attract all the Grimm into your location at this rate. Its better I head them off or you guys will be overrun.' Naruto thought as a simple black sword appeared out of nowhere to appear in his hand as he soon ran into a group of 10 Grimm.
Before any of them could do anything more then growl at him, he already sliced them into pieces with 2 quick slashes and then leapt off them vanishing bodies to reach the top of the trees.
He soon sensed the Grimm change directions and started to rush at him in hoards making him grin.
'Good. They can see me as the bigger threat and are trying to eliminate me over attacking the others.' Naruto thought pleased.
Meanwhile with the Teachers
"Ozpin! That child is insane! Is he trying to get all the Grimm to attack him?" Goodwitch asked with a hint of concern as Ozpin calming sipped from his hot chocolate with a calm expression.
"I believe that is exactly his plan." Ozpin stated as the teachers gave him incredulous looks.
"Why would he do that?" Professor Port asked seriously as Ozpin just continued to look at the screen.
The teachers sighed but knew they could not hold the hands of future Huntsmen and Huntresses so thet just watched Naruto with interest.
Back in the Forest
After several minutes Pyrrha's group managed to get the Death Stalker to fall through the unstable floor and to its death although the group had exhausted all their aura so they were forced to simply wait and watch Ruby's group. Pyrhha group included an unlikely team of herself, Jaune, Nora and Ren.
Ruby's group quickly learned normal gun fire and even dust had very little if no affect on the Giant Nevermore who simply shrugged off any damage done to it.
Then Ruby came up with an idea to slice off the Nevermore head with her Crecent Rose which Weiss reluctantly agreed to help with. After managing to snag the Nevermore neck with her scythe she ran up the cliff with help of Weiss glyphs running straight up with the Nevermore helplessly caught by the scythe.
She soon reached the top and jumped with the momentum to slicing off the Nevermore head and causing the great beast to turn to ash and disappear.
She grinned at her assembled team as Blake nodded at her, Yang beamed at her and Weiss just panted having exhausted her aura.
"Good job sis!" Naruto proud voice was heard as everyone soon got up the cliff only to see Naruto with what seemed like hundreds if not thousands of Grimm swarming him with Naruto casually leaping away from attacks as he had his back to the Grimm to wave at the shocked Naruto.
"Got to say that was some nice teamwork! I knew you could pull through." Naruto said with a grin as he batted several attacks without looking with a simple sword.
"Bro let us help!" Yang insisted only to wince when her tired body stumbled. She glanced around only to see Weiss, Ruby and Blake also look winded while Naruto looked perfectly fine.
"Rest up. You earned it. Leave the rest to me." Naruto said warmly but seriously as he turned around but not before Yang and Ruby see him with a serious expression.
"He's right. All of us are exhausted and our auras are gone. We can't help him right now." Pyrrha admitted as her group had arrived looking just as exhausted as Yang's group.
"I would disagree but I might need a bit of a breather." The normally cheerfully Nora admitted as she slumped on the floor trying to catch her breath.
Meanwhile Naruto was killing Grimm left right and center without a single sign of exhaustion. He was punching the Grimm so hard they would explode on impact or using sword swings so accurately the Grim were split apart before they realized. The strange thing was even Grimm that were not hit directly or were far too away from his sword swings also appeared to be cute somehow.
"Its strange though. It feels like every Grimm in this forest is focused on just him and not even us despite us being easy prey." Blake noted as they saw the Grim kept swarming in but only towards Naruto.
"Its almost like they are afraid of him or something." Ruby noted having seen several animals attack one predator in an attempt to overwhelm it with sheer numbers.
Naruto soon sensed that the other group of just guys was resting a short distance away with all the Grim solely focused on him.
'Perfect now I can get rid of them all at once.' Naruto thought before he leapt back slicing a Beowolf with a single slash that tried to attack him from the side.
He lifted his sword in front of him and it started to hum with blue electricity so bright and powerful it could even be seen from the tree tops and the cameras above.
"Creatures of Grimm! Behold your destroyer. Soulless creatures return to the Darkness from whence you came." Naruto declared as the blue Electricity grew brighter and more powerful.
"Behold! The Dragon Strike!" Naruto yelled as the electricity grew to massive proportions and turned into a massive Blue Dragon that dwarfed the tree tops. It roared before it rushed towards the Grimm and exploded in a massive light and explosion as the group was forced to close their eyes and hold onto themselves from the light and impact.
Nobody, not even the cameras could see Naruto eyes turn silver during his attack but returned to blue when the explosion faded.
The teachers gasped when the cameras zoomed out to reveal that at least half of the entire forest was destroyed and leveled off from the explosion leaving nothing but a crate of pure destruction.
Naruto swung his sword blowing away the smoke as it vanished right as he turned back to the group with a smirk.
"Looks like all the Grimm are destroyed right? That means we pass right!" Naruto shouted knowing the cameras could hear them.
After a minute Ozpin voice could be heard across the entire forest.
"Well with that unexpected surprise the test is over. Congratulations to all students. Please wait at your site and we shall pick you up to begin opening ceremonies and team announcements.
Naruto walked back to Yang and Ruby who both clung to him making him smile.
"Okay dude what is your semblance? I mean that was amazing!" Nora chanted as Naruto rubbed his head modestly.
"Hmm I am not sure what to call it." Naruto claimed as nobody noticed Ruby gave him a strange quick look almost as if she didn't believe him. AN5:
Yang added "Hmm Uncle Qrow told us that Naruto power is 'to use Dust without dust'. Whatever that means." As Naruto shrugged his shoulders. AN6:
The exhausted group was too tired to comment much more but Weiss did look strangely at Naruto even as they were flown back to the Beacon grounds.
The students were allowed several hours to nap in the common room which they all eagerly did (with Naruto insisting they slept apart much to Yangs and Rubys annoyance) before they entered the hall.
Ozpin congratulated them and told them the teams were based on how well the groups did during the exam and who worked well with others.
The first team consists of Cardin Winchester, Russel Thrush, Dove Bronzewing and Sky Lark, forming Team CRDL, pronounced "Cardinal", led by Cardin. Naruto didn't personally care as they seemed like muscles idiots in his mind but he swore he would kick their asses if they messed with his friends.
The next team is Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha and Ren, forming Team JNPR, pronounced "Juniper", with Jaune serving as its leader. Jaune was stuttering and barely able to not make a fool, of himself even as Nora and Ren patted him on the back while Pyrrha smiled at him.
The final group was something that took everyone by surprise. It would be the first 5-man team in Beacon history with Naruto Rose, Ruby Rose, Blake, Weiss and Yang as team RRWBY ('Team Ruby') with it technically being Rose, Rose for the twins.
Yang and Ruby looked eagerly at the stoic Naruto expecting him to be the leader while Weiss looked proudly expecting herself.
"The leader of this 5-man team will be…." Ozpin started as everyone was eager to hear the leader. "Ruby Rose." Ozpin finished as Naruto grinned at his shocked twin while Yang patted her on the back while Blake shrugged and Weiss fumed silently.
Flashback with teachers
"You cannot be serious Professor Ozpin! A 5-man team?" Port asked with a stutter.
"I am being perfectly honest. Naruto Rose has shown to work well with his sisters." Ozpin said simply sipping his hot cholate.
"But Naruto Rose should be on his own team! His skills far surpass the rest of the classmates!" Glynda admitted reluctantly seeing his skills in the forest made her admit he was not all for show.
"Naruto and Ruby have clearly stated they only intend to be here if they can be together. If I separate Naruto onto his own team, they will likely quit along with their older sister Yang. Then we would be left with a 2-person team. Far below the minimum requirement. It is better to be over then under for teams." Ozpin explained gravely.
The teachers reluctantly agreed with his wise assessment but Glynda was still not happy on Team RRWBY leader.
"Then at the very least make Naruto the leader of that group. He is by far the most suited for that role. Ruby Rose idolizes her brother so making her leader would not be wise." Glynda pointed out as Ozpin sighed.
"It is true on paper it would be best to make Naruto the leader however he is so far above his teammates making him leader would make them feel inferior and question his decisions especially Miss Schnee. Miss Rose will fall at first but it will be the best learning experience with Naruto to be there to help her out." Ozpin decreed shutting down the discussion.
"Sir… Naruto Rose sword… It was not shrunken down or anything. It just appeared out of nowhere and disappeared when he no longer needed it." Glynda said to Ozpin after the other teachers left as Ozpin had a serious expression.
"I am well aware. The students will need to know their teams now." Ozpin added as Glynda nodded and walked away.
'Its is almost like Mr. Rose has…. Buts impossible. Nobody has it anymore…' Ozpin thought with worry.
AN2: A slight nod to Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and the Unversed.
AN3: Naruto is kinda a perve in this one. He openly enjoys being with his beautiful sisters and has checked out Goodwitch. Why wouldn't he peek at Weiss' panties?
AN4: This IS the same attack from the 3rd and 4th Inuyasha movies.
AN5: Naruto and Ruby 'twin bond' is not so great they can read each other's mind per se but they can generally tell if the other is lying or hiding their true feelings.
AN6: It's a technically partial lie on what his powers are. (Only Qrow right now actually knows)
