Chapter 49 – Lonely Sisters Bonding

Yui's POV

"*sigh* Himeko…"

"You're still bummed out about before?"

"Yeah…pretty much."

It's been really rough for me these past few days. After I walked in on what could possibly be the worst sight of my life, I ran all the way to Himeko's house and told her what happened. And I've been staying there ever since.

The only time I went back home was to pack for the trip to Odaiba. And I didn't even tell Ui that I was going. In fact…I haven't spoken to her since that night. As I've had enough time dealing with her already.

"Still, though…I can't believe those two would take their relationship THAT far already. Didn't they just meet last week?"

"Yeah…but from what Miharu-chan told me, they've been dating for about a month. Even though their dates were mostly virtual."

"I see. Well…even then, it's still kinda early to be going THAT far in a relationship.

Early, huh?

"Hey…Himeko. Just so you know…once I get rid of these feelings for Ui, I do want to go THAT far with you. I love you too much not to."

"Y-Yui…" Himeko gained a deep blush before turning away from me. "W-Well…t-technically, you already did when you unhooked my bra before."

"You really won't let that go, huh?" I gained a sweatdrop.

Though, I'm still down for topless Himeko…

"Ugh! Geez, that girl. Already giving me a headache." We were then suddenly joined by Kagami-chan as she sat in the same group of seats as us on the train to Odaiba. Looking pretty stressed out and annoyed.

"What happened to you?" Himeko asked.

"Kirin…that girl just doesn't know when to turn off her perv switch. I just had to apologize to a bunch of moms because Kirin explained to their kids what a Cleveland steamer is."

"Wh-What the hell?"

"Wait, what's a Cleveland steamer?" I asked.

"I-It's nothing, Yui." Himeko said.

"J-Just some stupid thing Kirin made up." Kagami-chan added.

"*groan*"

Something tells me that's not it…

"A-Anyway…what were you two doing? I wasn't interrupting, was I?"

"No, not really." Himeko said. "I was just…trying to cheer up Yui a little."

"Cheer her up? Is something bothering you, Yui?"

"Well…yeah." I went silent for a bit. "But…it's a pretty long story. I'm sure you don't want to hear it all."

"What? Come on, Yui. We're friends, aren't we? Whatever it is you're going with I want to help as much as I can. Just trust me."

"Kagami-chan…" I said while holding in my tears. "Well…if you insist. It started back when…"

And so, I told her the whole story. How an ex-boyfriend from middle school toyed with my heart by breaking up with me because I wouldn't have sex with him. How Ui was the one to cheer me up and I ended up gaining incestuous feelings for her for a year. And how…after three years of believing that it was going…the feelings came back when Ui revealed that she had a girlfriend for the past month. And it eventually turned into hatred for both Ui and her girlfriend.

It was a pretty long story. Even with me leaving out the part where I walked in on them having sex a few nights ago. I REALLY didn't want to detail that again. It'll only piss me off even more.

"I see…so, that's what's going on."

"Yeah…" Himeko said. "…it's been a real rough time for her."

"And what's worse of all is that Ui is completely oblivious to it all." I said. "She's too damn busy being all lovey-dovey with her girlfriend that she even forgets that I'm around. It pisses me off to the point where I can't even stand their happiness."

"But…at the same time…she is my sister. And I just want to see her as only that. Plus, I got Himeko with me. The one person I truly love."

"Yui…"

"I…I completely understand, Yui." Kagami-chan said. "I may not 100% relate to this whole thing…but I'm in the same boat as you."

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well…you see, the thing is…Tsukasa and I aren't really that close right now."

"W-Wow…really? That's a shock."

"And this Tsukasa is…" Himeko asked.

"My twin sister. We're fraternal twins but I'm the older one."

"I see."

"What happened between you and Tsukasa-chan?" I asked.

"*sigh* Well, you see…Tsukasa signed up for this Student Transfer Program our school was having and ended up getting accepted. When Tsukasa told us about it…well…let's just say that I was pretty upset. So much so that later that night…the two of us had a huge fight. The first-ever in our lives."

"Wow…I never would've expected the two of you to fight." I said. "You get along so well…"

"*sigh* Yeah…it happened." Kagami-chan then went silent for a bit. "And from that point on, everything changed. We didn't speak to each other for months on end. And when the second term was about to start, she left. Transferred out of Ryōō and off to her new school. Still on bad terms with me and vice-versa."

"Where did she go?"

"Huh?"

"Tsukasa-chan's new school. What's it called?"

"I-Is that really important right now?"

"Hey, I'm curious. A lot of us have changed since our series ended and this is the biggest one yet." I then thought for a moment. "Well…aside from Akari-chan losing an eye and Kyoko-chan having a serial killer for a father. Of course, there's Mugi-chan having a long-lost half-sister. And then there's Misao-chan and Minegishi-chan warping to that other world due to that weird crystal they…"

"Y-Yui! Stop! You're spoiling a future story!" Kagami-chan yelled in a panicked fit.

"Huh…A-Aw, crap! I went too far! H-Hey! Everyone reading this chapter! Please pretend you didn't see that! I'm begging you!"

"It's nice to see that you're still a clumsy airhead, Yui."

"Sh-Shut up!" I yelled at Himeko.

"*sigh* Well, anyway…" Kagami-chan continued on. "…if you really want to know, the school that Tsukasa now attends is…*sigh* Shinohara."

"Shinohara? W-Wait, she moved to Takaoka?!" I asked in total shock.

"Takaoka…isn't that the city that's experiencing the unexplained endless heatwave?" Himeko asked.

"Yeah, amongst other things. That town is not normal."

Something that Mio-chan says a lot…

"Anyway…once Tsukasa left, our relationship became highly strained. Both of us living lives as if we were never sisters in the first place. It was THAT bad."

"W-Wowie…" I said. Still in disbelief.

"Have you at least tried to make up with her?" Himeko asked. "I mean…you're twin sisters. You had to at least tried, right?"

"Yeah, well…we kinda did."

"Kinda?"

"Tsukasa called me the night before the new school year started. It was the first we've spoken to each other in almost a year. And it was awkward as hell."

"I see."

"And then when she came back during Golden Week to help out at the shrine, it became even more awkward. To the point where we went right back to not talking to each other all over again."

"Oh, wow..." I said. "...That must've been tough for you, Kagami-chan."

"Y-Yeah...you can say that." Kagami-chan then went silent again. "But, hey...thanks to our parents intervening, we spoke to each other again for the first time in a while. And it was actually enjoyable, too. So, to answer your question fully, Himeko, we're...slowly making up. Gonna take a while for us to be back to normal-speaking terms, though."

"I see..." Himeko said.

...

"But, you know...the more I think about it, the sadder I get. For letting this fight last this long in the first place." I couldn't really tell at first, but it looked like Kagami-chan let out a few tears as I saw one run down her cheek.

"And…well…y-you could say that I regret it all. N-Not that I would admit it, anyway…"

She's gone tsundere at a time like this? I gained a mental sweatdrop.

"*sniff* S-So, yeah…*clears throat* It may not relate to what you're going through, Yui…but after hearing that you're fighting with Ui made me want to bring my situation up."

"I see…" I went silent for a bit. "So, like…who's fault is it? Is it Ui's for being so dense? Or is it mine…for keeping these feelings a secret for years on end?"

"Well…I really can't answer that. As I'm questioning the same thing with me and Tsukasa. But what I can say is that…well…j-just try not to have your sisterly bond be damaged badly like mine is right now. You'll regret it hard."

"W…Wow…"

"It must be really tough having siblings, huh?" Himeko asked. "I'm only asking because I'm an only child."

"Yeah…it's a struggle." Kagami-chan said.

*Tsugi no teishaeki wa Odaiba-Kaihinkōen'ekidesu. Odaiba-Kaihinkōen'eki. Deguchi wa migigawa ni arimasu.*

"Our stop's coming up. I'll go get Miharu-san and Kirin-san."

"'Kay." We both said to Himeko as she left to go get the other two girls traveling with us.

"Well…that's that." Kagami-chan said. "I'm not sure if that helped in any way, but…"

"N-No, it actually did help." I said. "It might take a while…but I should just be honest to Ui about this whole thing. Maybe if she heard it from me personally, she'll finally understand."

"I see. Maybe I could try following my own advice…"

"Huh?"

"O-Oh, nothing. Just…I'm glad we were able to have this chat, Yui. It ironically helped me out, too."

"Oh…um…you're welcome, Kagami-chan." I said with a smile.

"Geez, you two…you're really gonna get us arrested if you keep doing this stuff."

We were then rejoined by Himeko as she had brought Miharu-chan and Kirin-chan with her. Though, she looked kinda exasperated.

"Well, sorry." Miharu-chan said. "I didn't think Kirin would go that far."

"Hey, you can't fully blame me for this." Kirin-chan said. "You were just as into the idea of "enlightening the youth" or whatever you said in French."

"What did you two do now?" Kagami-chan asked.

"Basically, I found these two explaining to a group of girls what a golden shower was." Himeko said.

"Wh-What?! Kirin, are you insane?!"

"What? Two of them were blonde so I figured it was appropriate enough." Kirin-chan said.

"When is it EVER appropriate to talk about that?!"

"Uh…hey, guys. What's a golden shower?" I asked.

"I-It's nothing, Yui." Himeko said.

"J-Just another made-up thing by Kirin." Kagami-chan said.

"I-It isn't really important, anyway." Miharu-chan said.

"A golden shower is when you…"

*POW*

"Shut up, Kirin!" Kagami-chan yelled in a violent manner after hitting Kirin-chan in the head.

"*groan* Again?" I complained.

I wish people would stop treating me like an innocent child…

Author's Note: A simple chat between two older sisters about their feelings of jealousy for their younger sisters. I'd say it's good enough for a filler chapter.

As stated before, this will be the last time Yui, Mio, Ritsu, and the others will receive a full chapter during this arc. As the rest of it will be in Mugi, Miharu, or Azusa's POV. I'm not sure how much is left in this one. Maybe like…3 or 4 more chapters. Hopefully, I finish it before the end of the year.

Thanks for reading. Later.
