nightelf37: Next entry! Well, this is less of a fanfic idea and more of a Wargroove custom campaign idea that I'm unable to get going. Spoilers for Wargroove.
Mini-Campaign: Andy's Arcade Run
Andy (Advance Wars) searches for a legendary weapon on behalf of Orange Star, but runs into a number of adversaries along the way.
Match 1: VS Ragna
- Start: Ragna sees the Orange Star forces and prepares to crush them, but is peeved that their commander is lounging at the stronghold.
- On Defeat: Ragna claims victory, then realizes Andy has already abandoned the stronghold and is fleeing, and she tells him to "Get back here!".
- On Victory: Andy "prods" Ragna, who tells him to go away. He complies.
Match 2: VS Ryota
- Start: Ryota hails Andy and asks his reasons for being here. Andy gives a blunt answer, and Ryota decides they have to fight, since what they're after is the same thing and cannot be shared.
- On Defeat: Ryota tells Andy to go home, and that war is not a game.
- On Victory: Ryota comments on Andy's power being like Mercia while Andy decides to go on his way.
Match 3: VS Nuru
- Start: Nuru recognizes Andy as a Wars World CO and is itching for a fight. Andy is eager, and asks if the loser has to forfeit their search for the legendary weapon. Nuru is shocked that he's after it too, and steels herself for the fight ahead.
- On Defeat: Nuru says "Better luck next time!"
- On Victory: Nuru concedes, and states she's forgotten just how strong Wars World COs are even when away from combat, and Andy's an average one to boot.
Match 4: VS Mercia
- Start: Mercia hears of Andy through Ryota and prepares to fight him. Andy asks if they're going to fight since they're after the same artifact. Mercia is shocked by both his intentions and how eager he is to fight. Andy then states that since only one person can take the artifact according to Ryota, and since it cannot be shared, combat is inevitable. Appalled, Mercia is more determined not to let Andy take the artifact.
- On Defeat: Mercia is shocked to see just how young Andy is, just barely above Koji's age. She plans to seize him, and ask the Orange Star soldiers how to get them back home.
- On Victory: Mercia is in disbelief at how Andy's power is like hers, but affects ALL his troops, even if sometimes doing less than her Groove. She then begs Andy to reconsider his quest, for the artifact may be more dangerous than they all think, but he's already gone.
Match 5: VS Elodie
- Start: Elodie gives her usual warning. Andy comments that this fight is going to be tough. Maybe.
- On Defeat: Elodie finds that Andy is already gone from the stronghold, and resolves to go after him. He cannot be allowed to live after what he's learned about her.
- On Victory: The Orange Star Soldiers are instructed to load the artifact in a wagon, and that they're returning to Wars World.
- Epilogue: As it turns out that Requiem only works in Aurania, and has lost its power once they made it back to Wars World because the portal tech destroys souls not inhabiting living beings. Andy thinks it's better to keep it here anyway given how many in Aurania deemed it dangerous and desired. This way, it won't be a threat to either world.
Bonus Match 6: VS Aurania
- Start Cutscene: At the portal that leads back to Wars World, Andy prepares to depart, only to find all of the local territories on his heels: Mercia, with Greenfinger Zawan, Tenri, and Valder allied with her to retrieve Requiem from Orange Star. Valder warns that even if Andy is dealt with, the fact that everyone is here means anyone of them is going to try to seize the artifact after or even during this mess, and it'll become a massacre. Mercia acknowledges this risk, but Zawan and Tenri assure they'll be civil about this.
- Start: Andy is sweating bullets over facing so many foes, only having done up to three at a time in War Room simulations.
- Conditions: Survive for ## turns until the portal is ready.
- On Defeat: Celebrations are had over stopping Andy, but then it's revealed that Orla and Errol have swiped Requiem from under their noses and were carrying it away. The leaders sight them and immediately give chase.
- On Victory: An Orange Star soldier reports that the portal is ready, and Andy gives the order to run.
- End Cutscene: All sorts of units are seen fleeing to the portal, then two Wagons enter the frame and pause. Wagon 1 reports that the portal is losing power, and Wagon 2 (where Andy is in) says the artifact is a power source; they can use that. Wagon 1 asks if that's a wise choice since they're supposed to be bringing it back in the first place. Wagon 2 States that with the way the generator works, it should hold for a while after it's time to remove the artifact.
- Cut to the next scene, where the Auranians approach the portal, only for it to close on them. Mercia laments that they're too late, but Tenri notices something.
- Back at Wars World, Andy returns with his Auranian army. His pals show up behind the wagons and ask where the artifact is. Andy stammers for a bit.
- Back at Aurania, the artifact is broken and drained. Mercia is bewildered at both the ruined generator and the artifact and why it was still here. Zawan decides perhaps it's for the best that Requiem is no more, if people from outside Aurania desired it so. Valder feels he has to concur.
- Back at Wars World, Andy finishes his explanation for why he abandoned the artifact. There's a moment's pause, then Nell expresses she wants to be disappointed, but with the locals he recruited, it's not a total loss. Sami still thinks she should've been sent instead.
nightelf37: And that's it. There might be at least a few more of these. See ya on Third! Elsewhere.
