Summary: Charlotte and Jasper handle their first emergency in the past, Henry plays video games 😂
Evie's Notes: Hey guys, another longer chapter today. Hope you all enjoy! ❤️
Charlotte anxiously tapped her foot as she waited in the hallway for the boys to be ready to head over to work. "Are you two ready to go yet?!"
Jasper poked his head out of the bedroom with a grin, "Yup! I got ready in five minutes".
"What about Hen?"
"Still in the shower" laughed Jaser, pressing a kiss to Charlotte's cheek.
"Just give me a second, okay!? Do you think I wake up this beautiful everyday? No! This takes work" ranted Henry over the sound of the water.
Charlotte chuckled fondly at the boy's rant, "Sorry, sorry. We'll be down stairs with coffee whenever you decide you're ready"
"Coffee!" perked up Jasper, bounding downstairs in search of the delicious energy source.
Charlotte just rolled her eyes fondly and followed after her boyfriend.
*A New Hero - A New Hero - A New Hero*
It took another thirty minutes, but eventually Henry was ready to trio dropped Piper off at the mall with her friends before heading over to Junk and Stuff.
The shop had been doing really well with all of the ads Jasper had been running. The group had even started looking for new stuff to sell! The additional funds meant that they were able to make several purchases towards the new Danger Zone. Charlotte's carefully curated budget ensured that the four wouldn't go over the line of credit that they had secured through Swellview Bank.
Henry frowned as he scanned the group's shared document where they were keeping track of all the changes they had made since coming to the past. Sure they had avoided the diez leche cake on his birthday, but he had still been sprayed with Flabber Gas by Barge and covered in extraterrestrial goo on Halloween. So far three out of the four events that could make him vulnerable to Twitler's trap had occurred. Unfortunately, Henry had forgotten just what the other element that made A.M.O.R.E was and how he came into contact with it. Henry felt pretty confident that he would be able to evade Twittler's trap since he hadn't had the diez leche cake, but he couldn't be sure. It would be better to avoid coming into contact with the final element… if only he could remember what it was.
Closing his laptop, Henry made his way over to Charlotte's seat in front of the ManCave Computer. "Alright! What's on the schedule for today? Any bad people need punching? Any good people need saving?"
Charlotte scrolled through the various screens and was surprised to see that there wasn't anything that needed their immediate attention.
"Then that could only mean one thing," grinned Ray. "MOVIE DAY!"
The teens happily celebrated the day off from fighting. As much as they enjoyed helping to keep their community safe, they were happy to have a day to relax and still get paid.
Charlotte was so caught up in her celebration that she didn't even notice when she accidentally bumped into a large wooden crate.
"Ouch! Ray, what did you buy now?"
"I didn't buy anything" dismissed Ray.
"Well does anyone know what this is then?" asked Charlotte, circling the crate. It wasn't until her eye caught the horribly familiar red circle mark that she guessed what was inside. Pressing the tattoo behind her ear that activated her computer chip, Charlotte scanned the crate and was horrified by what she saw inside.
"Who cares" shrugged Schwoz, busy setting up the TV for their movie.
"It probably has work inside" agreed Ray
"There's a note here from the Vice Mayor that says 'please open this box right away'," read Charlotte.
"Ehhh, that could mean anything" argued Ray.
Charlotte glanced over at her boys and saw them also remembering what this was.
"Hey Hen, why don't you go upstairs and check on the store?" suggested Jasper, eyeing the crate distrustfully.
"Great Idea Jasp" nodded Henry, speed walking towards the elevator.
"Why? The alarm for the shop hasn't gone off?" asked Schwoz.
"Uhh, I think I left my phone up there and I don't want it to get stolen" lied Jasper.
"Just uhhh… triple beep me when you get done handling this," directed Henry as he stepped into the elevator. He knew his friends were competent and could handle the trap Twittler had sent for him and Ray, but he still worried.
"Sounds good. We'll see you soon" promised Charlotte, blowing a kiss Henry's way as the elevator door closed.
Charlotte carefully removed the lid of the crate as Ray and Schwoz chanted their desire for the box to be filled with popcorn. "It's not popcorn guys," announced Charlotte as the sides flipped down to reveal the far too familiar nuclear missile.
"AWW! It's a big steaming pile of work" sulked Ray.
Snagging the pearpad that came with the missile, Charlotte hit play on the Vice Mayor's message. The group watched as the city official explained how the bomb had just magically appeared in the basement of city hall one day and that it was now their job to deal with it.
"Well what are we supposed to do with this now?" asked Ray worriedly.
"Relax. Nuclear bombs don't just go off on their own, you know. They have to be activated. As long as we don't start the timing sequence we'll be fine" explained Schwoz, casually kicking the giant metal can of death.
"Oh! Well then. Let's just put it down in the weapon room and get back to movie day" decided Ray.
"What did we do about this last time?" asked Jasper, pulling Charlotte over to the circle table, away from the two older men.
"I think I remember Ray eating the bombs?" guessed Charlotte. "But that won't stop him from building up A.M.O.R.E. in his system. Plus the radiation from that took like a week to wear off, there's no way we could keep Henry away from here for that long".
"You're right. We need to get rid of it without activating it. I can't even imagine what horrible things could have occurred if Drex had gotten his hands on a nuke" shuddered Jasper.
"I know. He would have destroyed the world and laughed while doing so".
Suddenly the pair's phones buzzed, signaling a new post on twitflash.
KidDanger: professordanger and docdanger won't let me help solve the newest disaster. madamdanger do you want any help?
ProfessorDanger: ^^^ You stay exactly where you are and let us handle it
DocDanger: ^^^ You'll be back in the field in no time ️
"Ugh, drama queen" groaned Charlotte as Jasper laughed and continued to scroll through Twitflash to see how their fans were reacting to Henry's post.
MadamDanger: I'm not fighting crime kiddanger, but you are more than welcome to come over and hang.
KidDanger: ^^^ coolio 😎, professordanger and docdanger enjoy your crime date

The time traveling couple were brought back to the current moment by the grunting and shouting of Ray as he attempted to drag the bomb across the mancave towards the hallway.
"I don't exactly remember how the bomb got activated last time or how long we had to solve the problem but I suggest we deal with this now" muttered Jasper.
"Ok so I think the only real option we have if we aren't going to have Ray eat it is to launch it into space" decided Charlotte.
"Well how are we supposed to do that? I don't think we can just rock up to NASA and ask to borrow a rocket" snapped Jasper.
"No? We'll just use Schwoz's"
"Schwoz has a rocket!?"
"I keep forgetting that you weren't with us from the start. Yeah, Schwoz built a rocket. Henry and Ray used it to get a bunch of rabbits off the space station".
"Huh, I will DEFINITELY need to hear more about that later, for now let's go get the rocket from Schwoz".
"Hey Schwoz, can we borrow the keys to your rocket?" asked Charlotte, praying the man wouldn't ask any questions. She guessed that the mad scientist wouldn't be on board with getting rid of the unactivated nuclear weapon; after all this was the man who invented deadly diseases and cloned space aliens for fun and to see if he could.
"Sorry, but I loaned it to my sister and cousin Larry. They won't be back from Mars for a couple weeks" apologized Schwoz as he helped Ray transport the weapon.
"No! What are we supposed to do now?"
"The goal is just to get the bomb off earth right?" asked Jasper, his brows furrowed in thought.
"Yeah, that way no one dies".
"What if we use the interdimensional transporter that we took from Bill Evil and Evil Science Corp?"
"Jasper! You're a genius!" cheered Charlotte kissing her boyfriend fiercely. "You distract Ray and Schwoz while I get the machine".
Nodding, Jasper raced over to the two men talking excitedly about the newest episode of Dog Judge. Both men dropped the bomb and raced over to the TV while shouting for Jasper not to spoil the episode.
Smirking triumphantly, Charlotte slipped away to the weapons room, this was one of the many times she was happy that all of the adults in their lives acted like childish idiots.
It didn't take her long to locate the interdimensional transporter. Rolling up her sleeves, she set to work pushing the heavy machine back towards the main room.
Several stressful moments later Charlotte succeeded in moving the machine into the room just off the main ManCave. Poking her head back into the main room she frantically motioned for Jasper to bring her the bomb.
The boy did his best to sneak away from Ray and Schwoz. Luckily, the pair were so focused on Dog Judge's ruling against Larry Cat and Jessica Llama that they missed him dragging the bomb out of the room and over to Charlotte.
"Just set it up on the wall over there," directed Charlotte as she turned on the machine.
"What dimension are you going to set it too?"
"I'm thinking the Nothing Dimension," replied Charlotte grimly.
Jasper shuddered, remembering the team's experience with the horrifying dark void when they were heroes in Metroburg. "Good pick".
Punching the necessary buttons and spinning the dial quickly Charlotte said a little prayer that nothing would come out of the dimension while they had it open.
"Stand back, because here we goooo!"
A blast of purple energy shot out of the machine and hit the opposite wall, enveloping it in a powerful wave. As the portal took shape, the purple ebbed away and the darkness of the Nothing Dimension began to seep out.
Jasper quickly threw the missile into the portal and the pair watched in fascination and horror as black tendrils wrapped around the metal weapon and squeezed tighter and tighter till it was suddenly gone.
Satisfied that the disaster was successfully averted, Charlotte shut down the machine and closed off any connections to the Nothing Dimension.
"YESS!" shouted Jasper, breaking into a silly celebratory dance. "Let's take a selfie to celebrate our first big win this time around"
The pair twisted their rings and transformed into their hero-selves. Wrapping her arms around Jasper's neck, Charlotte smiled from behind her mask as Jasper took the picture.
Opening Twitflash, Jasper typed out a quick message to their fans and attached the image.
DocDanger: Rest easy Swellview, Disaster averted. Have a great rest of your day ️

Laying in bed that night, Jasper and Charlotte hugged Henry tightly between them, content in the knowledge that they had saved him from future harm. Rick Twittler had better watch his back, because history would NOT be repeating itself on their watch.
