Author's Note: This is mostly a Sena-centered match. "Japan" makes an appearance here. I was distracted while writing the first half, but I came back with the second half. I finally decided to make more connections among the countries. I found a YouTube channel that plays creepy shamisen trap music and that helped out with this match. That being said, I think I know what I am doing next week. Time to check in on the witches and England again. For now, enjoy this week's match.
Match Thirteen: Ringo no Kai:
Kiku moved along the glass. The creature with his form could see everything. The Japanese man was still inside of it. It was amazing that he still managed to hang on this long. Kiku smirked to himself.
"Heh," he said. There were so many things he could do in this maze of a house. What was he going to do next? He had a few ideas. Starting was always the hard part. Sena was a bust the first time. He would get her the next go around. Meanwhile, there were the darker parts of themselves they could reach out to.
Now where did they run off to?
Sena kept her eyes open for any mirrors. She didn't trust that being pretending to be her husband. He didn't go away either. Okinawa held her breath.
"I know you're there!" she shouted. "I'm not falling for your shit!" Sena puffed up her cheeks and marched down the hall. She was tired of all of it. The endless hallways, the footsteps around her, the feeling of being watched, the giggling, the mind games….
Sena clenched her teeth. She balled up her fists by her side. A scream built up in her throat. Oh no. She looked like she was about to lose it.
Suddenly, a hand grabbed her by the arm.
The woman whipped around, growling.
"What?!" she shouted. There was no one there. Sena clicked her tongue. Now they were doing the tapping and grabbing thing? She rolled her eyes.
"Lame! So this is so lame!" she shouted. The woman turned to walk off. But then, something grabbed her again. This time, she tried to fight them off.
"Let go! Get off of me! No!" she shouted. Her fists made contact with thin air. The flailing around made the grip tighter.
"Let me go!" Sena screamed. No one could hear her screaming and fighting. And then she vanished into thin air.
Everything is all set. Now let's see what happens next.
Sena awoke to the sound of chattering. She winced as she slowly opened her eyes.
"Shut up. Shut up!" she shouted. When she fully woke up, she was not expecting what she first saw. Pale ghoulish-looking faces were looking down at her. Sena did not want to look into their mouths filled with black teeth.
"Oh fuck!" she shouted as she scrambled to get up. Her arms swatted at them as she struggled with her feet. Their faces distorted before forming back into place. Sena had a time getting back up. There were four of them, laughing.
"What are you laughing for?!" Sena shouted. Their raspy laugh made her ears hurt. The woman gritted her teeth. What the hell was this? The anger started to build up in her chest. Punching them wasn't going to work, but she needed to hurt something.
Suddenly, she heard clapping behind her.
Sena turned her head. Her "husband" walked up to her, clapping. He smiled like a wild man.
"Well done! Well done! You made it! Well done! Well done!" he said. Sena gave him a death glare.
"You…" she glared. "Kiku" gave her an innocent pout.
"Aw, what's the matter, baby?" he asked.
"Don't call me baby!" she yelled. Her husband's form cocked his head to the side.
"No?" he asked. "Then what should I call you?" Sena snorted at him. The entity wearing her husband's face gave her a childish smirk.
"Come on! Why are you so bitter?" he asked.
"Give me back my husband!" Sena shouted.
"What do you mean? I'm right here!" the man said. The woman shook her head.
"No," she said. "You are not my husband. Who the fuck are you?!" Kiku sighed and shook his head.
"I didn't want to have to do this to you," he said. He vanished and then appeared right in her face. She didn't get time to react. The entity with Kiku's face placed his hand on her shoulder.
"This would've been easier if you just played along. But you've left me no choice. It's such a pity, really," he said. Kiku's grip tightened on her shoulder. Sena's jaw dropped open before she vanished into thin air. Her husband lowered his hand.
"Maybe this will help to change your mind, baby," he said to himself. Kiku took a look around before he vanished into thin air.
The splashing swirled around above her head. She felt so cold. Sena opened her eyes in the darkness. The cold wet surrounding her was enough to snap her back into this reality. The woman struggled to breathe as she tried to swim through the dark water.
Where the hell am I?
There wasn't time to worry about that. It didn't take long for her to realize that she wasn't alone. Other shadowy forms were floating in front of her. Their white eyes stood out in the cold dark. Some of them were struggling to stay afloat. The rest had no trouble staying in place. Waves crashed over their heads. Two of them sank and disappeared into the depths. Sena struggled to swim upward.
I don't want to die here!
Okinawa froze when she heard chittering behind her. Her eyes widened as her body grew stiff. Oh no… Don't tell her…
Sena turned her head. She should not have done that.
The ghoulish figures were back. How were they able to remain floating in this water? No! They were just floating. Two of them started running toward her. Sena started to panic.
Oh hell no!
She needed to get out of here. Sena started to swim upward. She pushed herself to move even though her body felt heavy. The woman only had one thought on her mind.
Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope!
It didn't feel like she was going anywhere, but she had to try. Sena closed her eyes. The chattering was getting closer. She could hear it right in her ear. The woman pushed herself to keep moving as hard as she could make her body go.
I don't want to die! I don't want to die!
Suddenly, a dainty hand grabbed her by the shoulder. Sena opened her eyes as she was pulled upward. Her body was moving faster than she could keep up.
And then she was gone.
She still felt cold. Sena shivered in the hot white light. After taking in a deep breath, she looked around. The woman was no longer in the water. In fact, she was standing on the solid ground. Her body felt so much lighter. She didn't have to struggle to breathe. But where was she?
Again, Sena could tell that she wasn't alone. The woman shook her head and shut her eyes. She wasn't going to fall for that one again. But she could still feel that intense gaze on her. Sena fought with herself not to look.
"Who are you? What do you want?" she asked. There wasn't a vocal answer. But Sena heard something that made her turn her head.
The form wasn't human at all. Sena could tell by looking at the body that this was a woman. The naked flesh was drained of all color as it floated off the ground. Her arms hung limply by her side. Her feet and calves had already rotted away. Her neck was also gone. Only a ball of light floated in place of where her head should be. Bloody, rotting bits were scattered around her on the ground. Sena couldn't take her eyes off of the branches made of white leaves that made up her wings.
Okinawa had to shield her eyes.
"What the hell?" she asked. The floating body seemed to be glaring at her. Sena quickly closed her mouth. It was then something inside of her told her to be afraid of this womanly figure. Sena pressed her lips together.
"Who are you?" she asked again. "What do you want from me?" There was no answer that needed to be heard. Sena lowered her arm to her side.
"Are you here to get me out of here?" she asked. Everything went quiet around her. And then, Sena vanished out of existence.
Sena opened her eyes and found herself back in the hallway. She looked around and pinched herself in the cheek. Yeah, this was real. The woman frowned and puffed up her cheeks.
"This shit again?" she asked. The woman whipped around in time to see another door opening up. She put her hands on her hips as she got a better look at who was coming through.
"Oh, it's you," she said. She didn't sound disappointed when she said that. It was more like she was accepting that this was a new face that she was looking at.
Carlos poked his head out of the open door.
"Yo," he said with a wave. Sena was about to speak when another door opened. She and the Cuban man looked up to see Rio looking around in the hall.
"Whoa! What are the odds of ending up here?" they asked. Carlos and Sena stared at the Brazilian cab driver as they turned their focus to them.
"Oh… it's you guys," Rio said.
Finally some connections are being made. Are they real or imagined? That remains to be seen. However, there are still other countries trapped in this house. So, let's get moving along.
Let's see what's over here, shall we?
