CH 3
When it was lunch time the adults made sure that the kids got there lunch first then they help them selves. Nikki got her's and buffer lunch before returning back to the table since buffer went in side to get more drinks then return back out side.
After lunch every one relaxing till they heard a scream "Get away from me, stranger, stranger" Vicky said yelling
"That Vicky" Nikki said as she stood up and ran to the side of the house and down the drive way
"It coming from the front of the house" Kate said.
Then every one stood up and ran down both sides of the house then stop when they saw Vicky on the ground and five of kids her age kicking and hitting two women while yelling at the two women.
"Vicky" Nikki said in shock.
Vicky got up and turn and ran to buffer crying. He pick her up and look at the two women while calming Vicky down "It ok sweetie" Pete said quietly to her.
"Vicky what happen" Nikki asked looking at Vicky. Vicky turn to Nikki.
"Those... two told me that they are my... auntie" Vicky said as she hiccup and sniffle as she pointed to the two women
"I told them I don't know you. That one" Vicky point to one women
"she step towards me and I step back I told her keep away, your a stranger, then I trip over. She came closer and bend down. I told her to keep away or I'll scream, she grab my arm so I scream and yelled 'Get away from me, stranger, stranger'. Then my friends ran and started yelling, hitting and kicking her"
"You did good" Nikki said
"Buffer pass me Vicky and we will return out back with the kids while you and Nikki deal with the two women" mike said
"Vicky why don't you go to uncle Mike" Pete said
"no" Vicky said as she hug Pete tighter
"Hey look at me" Vicky move so she could look at Pete. He wipe her tears away with his free hand while looking at her
"Don't worry, I'm going to talk to the two women and tell them what they did was wrong"
"go on Vicky. When Pete and I return cake and presents" Nikki said Vicky look at Nikki then to Pete
"ok mummy, daddy"
"that my girl" Pete said giving her a hug. And kiss on the check then he pass her to Mike
"come on Vicky lets go an see what presents every one got you" Mike said
"ok" Every one return back the way they came taking kids with them when they saw the look on Pete and Nikki faces.
Once they were gone Pete and Nikki turn to the two women "what the hell are you doing here scaring our daughter like that." Pete said anger
"sorry we didn't meant to scare her"
"Well you did. She doesn't know who you are and after four years you showed up out of the blue. No letter, no phone calls. And look what you did" Pete said
"Why are you here" Nikki asked with her arms folded in front of her
"We know it Vicky birthday, we thought we surprise her and you"
"We you sure did alright. Plus it was innovations only and we didn't invite you after what happen last time"
"We will leave, can you give her this" One pass Pete envelope which he could see it was a birthday card
"No, like I said to you four years ago I wash my hands on you both and I meant it. Now I want you both to leave" Pete said with his arms folded in front of him.
They turn and walk towards the end of the drive way and onto the foot path. Then they walk away from the house. Pete turn to Nikki and wrap his arms around her as she did in return.
"you did good Pete"
"thanks, so did you" then he kiss her
"thanks, lets go and get Vicky her birthday cake" Pete smile
"good idea and her presents" Pete said they turn walk towards and up the drive way with there arms around each other as they talk about how the kids are going to be hypo after eating cake.
When they walk around to the back of the house Vicky ran over to them. Pete bend over and pick Vicky up in his arms as she hug him and put her head on his shoulder as he rub her back.
"Every thing ok buffer" Mike asked
"Yeah it all sorted, so who wants Cake" Vicky move so she could look at Pete
"My birthday cake daddy" She said grinning
"Yes, your birthday cake"
"I'll go and get it" Nikki said
"I'll help" Kate said standing up and follow Nikki in side.
"Daddy do you know the two women"
"Yes I do"
"Who are they" Pete was over and sat down in his chair as he put Vicky on his lap.
"The two women are my sisters, your auntie Karen and auntie Lisa"
"I don't know them"
"no you don't. Last time they saw you, you were one years old."
"Why didn't they come to my other birthdays"
"it's complicated. When your older I'll tell you so you will under stand, ok"
"ok" she rest her head on his chest.
"What your plans for tomorrow buffer" spider asked
"fishing" Pete said smiling
"Have you hired a boat for the day?" charge asked
"Yeah, commander and X is coming for the day"
"Can we come" charge asked
"sorry mate, may be next time"
"ok" they talk among them selves till they saw Kate and Nikki walking out side carrying a large tray between them
"Pete" Nikki called out.
He turn to see Nikki so he stood up and put Vicky on the chair "Here help me clear the table" Pete asked.
So they quickly clear the table so Kate and Nikki put the cake on the table. Then Pete pick up the chair and Vicky who was in at at the same time and move it to the table while Nikki lit the candles. Vicky stood up and her eyes widen when she saw her birthday cake. Every one sang happy birthday to her.
"close your eyes and Make a wish then blow out the candles" Nikki said.
Vicky close her eyes then she open them and bend over and blew out the candles. Every one clap and cheered then Pete and Nikki kiss her checks at the same time.
"Vicky is there some thing you want to say to every one" Nikki said
"thank you for coming to my birthday party" Vicky said smiling then she turn to Pete
"Daddy can I have cake and presents now please" Every one laugh just as Pete pick her up in his arms
"Yes you can come on lets see who got you what while mummy and auntie Kate cut up the cake"
"Ok" Pete walk over to the table where the gifts are. Spider move a chair closer so Pete could put Vicky on the chair standing up.
"Ok Vicky which one first"
"Ah... that one daddy with the pink ribbon" she said pointing to one gift
"Ok" he reach over and pick it up and pass it to her.
Every one watch as she unwrap her gifts from family and friends. The Hammersley crew put money together and got her a new life jacket, sun hat, fishing rod, real, tackle box and her own fishing back pack. She love them and thank them all.
When it came to Mike and Kate gift. She read out the card first then she open her gift. When she open the box "Daddy look what auntie Kate and uncle mike got me" she said showing Pete.
When Pete saw it "do you like it" He asked Vicky
"i love it daddy... mummy look what auntie Kate and uncle Mike got me" Nikki walk over to where Pete and Vicky is.
When she saw it. She look at mike and Kate in shock "what is it" ET asked
"It a locket with a anchor on the front with number eighty two and Hammersley engrave under it" Pete said
"Daddy can you help me put it on please" Vicky asked
"sure" Pete took the locket out of it box when he saw engraving on the back.
"Nikki" he show her what was on the back Then turn to Mike and Kate
"Hammersley motto" Every one look at the four of them
"Mike got Hammersley Thor icon and motto engrave on the back of Vicky locket" Kate said just as Pete clamp the two clips together since the chain that the pendant is on was already around Vicky neck.
"there you go" Pete said
"thanks daddy" then she turn to give Pete a kiss on the cheek then turn to mike and Kate while smiling
"thank you auntie Kate, uncle mike, I love all my presents" she said smiling
"Your welcome Vicky" Kate said.
Vicky got off the chair and ran around hugging every one and thanking them again then she ran over to Nikki while smiling still "come on cake done"
they walk over to where the cake is and pick up a paper napkin that got a slice of cake on it then they went and sat down some where to have it. Then every one enjoyed the cake Vicky included. After wards kids return to there games while the adults talk while enjoying there afternoon.
That evening Pete fired up the barbeque so every one could have a barbeque sausage sizzle with bread. Frank fruiterers with long bread rolls for the hot dogs with fired onions, bacon, mustard tomato and barbeque causes for every one to choice from. Later that evening most of the guests left with there kids since it was almost there bed time.
Vicky who was sitting on buffer lap was almost asleep. Phillip he was on Charge lap asleep. Buffer and Nikki thank them all for showing up before they left. Then most of the crew left since they were flying back to Cairns since they were staying for the day and some are on duty watch tomorrow.
The rest including Mike and Kate stayed for the next few hours talking about good times as well catching up. Kids were in bed sleeping since it was a busy day for them all.
It was after one by the time Mike and Kate got into bed after a long busy day talking to buffer and Nav plus catching up with old crew members.
The next morning Mike and Kate showed up at the docks in a taxi. After they got out with there back packs they saw buffer pulled up not far from them after tooting his horn. Mike and Kate walk over to the SUV
"Good timing buffer" Mike said
"Of course sir" Buffer said as he and Nikki out out just as Nick open the back door to get out.
"Here let me help you buffer" mike said
"thanks sir" buffer said as he open the boot of the wagon just as Vicky and Phillip got out of the car.
"Looking ford to fishing Vicky, Phillip" Kate asked
"Yes" they both said.
"Kate and I will Take food bin, Phillip and Vicky down on the boat" Nikki said
"ok, you know which boat" Pete asked
"Yes I do" then she pick up Phillip while Vicky held onto Kate hand as they walk down to where the boat carrying the food bin between them while talking.
When they stop at a boat. They put the bin on the dock then Nikki got on first and put Phillip on the floor then she help Vicky onto the boat then Kate pick up the bin and pass it to Nikki who put it on the floor in the corner of the boat while Kate got on.
"Now we wait for the guys" Nikki said as she sat down, so Kate sat down next to her.
"did you get your revenge last night on buffer" Kate asked
"I did this morning"
"Really"
"Yes I'm going to make him suffer all day" Nikki show Kate her bikini bra strap it was lime green. Kate laugh
"Dose he know"
"No, but he will later" Nikki said smiling
"You going to be in trouble with him"
"I know"
they talk for few minutes when Pete, Mike and Nick arrived with the gear. Nikki and Kate help put the things on the boat before the guys got on then sort everything out plus putting life jackets on Phillip and Vicky while nick put his on. Once every thing sorted out Mike, Nikki, Kate and Nick was sitting on the back of the boat. Phillip on on Mike Lap.
"Kate watch Vicky" Nikki Said.
They saw buffer walk up the ladder to the wheel house then they saw Vicky climb the ladder then she step ford to where buffer is since he was sitting down since he started the engines. He turn and smile so he lean over and pick Vicky up and her her onto his lap before taking the boat out.
"she dose it every time Pete goes up there. When she started walking, she try to climb the ladder. When she couldn't she called out to Pete. He climbs down and pick her up then take her up with him. She happy to be up there watching what Pete dose. It took a while till she was able to climb up there by her self"
"Defiantly daddy girl" mike said
"Yes she sure is"
"How dose it feel being out on a boat again" mike asked
"love it, what about you sir"
"Loving it, it been a while"
"I know what you mean sir"
Mike talk to Nick while Kate and Nikki talk till buffer slow down and stop. They watch him and Vicky climb down the ladder while Nick got the fishing rods set up. They sat down and talk while trying to catch some fish.
Couple hours later they stop for lunch, Nikki and Peter brought chilli bin that got cold drinks and sandwiches in it. Mike and Kate brought fruit, Tim tams which made buffer and Nikki laugh know it is his favorite plus some cake slices.
Hour after lunch Kate and Nikki remove there shoes tops and short revealing a bikini that they were wearing under neath. Then they saw the shock look on Pete and Mike faces before they put the goggles on and jump into the sea.
They swam not far from the boat when Nick went to join them. Then Vicky and Phillip wanted to as well so Buffer remove Phillip shoes and socks before he could go to the back of the boat.
Then he help remove Vicky life jacket then remove her shorts and top since she wearing two piece swim suit. Then he put the life jacket back on and watch her walk to the back of the boat and jump into the sea. When she came up she was giggling.
Buffer went up top to keep an eye out for sharks while Mike stay on the back of the boat watching them having fun. Buffer saw some thing dark in the water heading toward the boat. He pick up the binoculars to see what it is till he saw fin he lower the binoculars then turn to the back of the boat
"Get out of the water, shark" buffer said yelling.
Then he quickly climb down the ladder while Mike got up and went to the back of the boat where he pull the kids out first then Kate when buffer showed up to pull Nikki out and onto the boat.
"where the shark" mike asked
"there" nick said pointing to the fin that pop up as he heading towards them.
"Get down" Kate yelled then the all got down on the floor of the boat when they felt a thump and boat move. Vicky screamed then she went and craw on to buffer lap, while Mike was hanging on to Phillip. Buffer held her in his arms when it happen again.
"Vicky go to mum" He pass her to Nikki then he got up and move to the side of the boat when he saw the shark heading towards the boat again
"sir" mike got up and stood next to buffer
"that shark must be what at least eight plus meters long"
"I agree" Mike turn when Kate was standing next to him
"buffer call any navy ships in the area, that shark got to be killed" Kate said when she recognised the shark
"Why that..." then they were on there back sides when the shark hit the boat again, when they sat up
"there been reports up north and a shark been attacking boats, sinking them. Last month crew manage to save two lives from a fishing boat. There was eight on board. They described what happen"
"I remember that report, Kingston and bendigo also attended may day calls and all they found was rip life jackets and no boats, no survivors"
"And now it down here" Buffer said as he got up and went to the ladder and climb it till he was up top.
He pick up the radio when he notice it was dead. He notice there no power. He turn to Mike "sir can you check the battery, not no power"
"Sure" Mike went to check the engine and battery when he notice that they were taking on water. He look up to Kate then turn and look up to buffer
"where the emergency beacon"
"Up here"
"activated it, we taking on water"
Buffer turn to where the beacon is and turn it on. He saw the light flashing then he turn and walk down the ladder then look down to where the engine is.
"the shark must of crack the bottom of the boat"
"Is there a pump"
"not sure" Buffer went to look for a water pump. When he return he he show mike the pump
"It broken"
"Dam it" mike said.
