Chapter 23: Flight Race
In the morning, Eduardo have gathered the tribe together for an announcement.
"It been a few years since the loggers was retreated for good. My daughter have returned to me and Peter and Susan's daughter Grace returned to them as well but it's not only that. My son-in-law, my nephew, and their human friends have promised that we need no longer have to worry about being attacked from the loggers. We are finally free and safe. Freedom at last." Eduardo said.
The tribe cheered for Blu and Banjo. Blu and Banjo returned a smile.
"That's my husband and brother-in-law." Jewel said.
"Yes it's all thanks to them." Mimi said.
"Everyone, I got something for you all to enjoy." Eduardo said.
"What is it?" Crystal asked.
"We will do a flight race." Eduardo said.
"That sounds fun." Tiago said.
"That flight race is when you race around the jungle and fly. Anyone who go to the finish line, wins, and get a prize." Eduardo said.
"That sounds awesome." Bia said.
"When is the race?" Junior asked him.
"Tomorrow morning." Eduardo answered.
During the day Blu and his family had lunch.
"Hey Jewel do you think I can do the race?" Blu asked his mate.
"Yes you can. You can fly." Blu said.
"All my life when I was living with Linda, I couldn't even fly until I met you." Blu said.
"We will do good." Jewel said.
"Racing. Let's see who will win." Banjo said.
The next morning all the 30 blue macaws are preparing to do a race.
"Attention everyone. Today we are going to do a flight race. The rule is simple. You have to fly straight and do a race. Is that understood?" Eduardo asked everyone.
"Yes." Everyone shouted.
"On your mark, get set go." Eduardo ordered.
All 30 blue macaws started to race. The blue macaws are focused on racing. Roberto is flying.
"I can do this. I can win this race." Roberto said in his thoughts.
Blu is catching up. His wings are getting tired already.
"Come on Blu, you can do this. You can't take rest during race." Jewel said.
Tiago is flying along with his sisters.
Garth and his friends wings are exhausted.
"Man I can't stop now. I have to finish this race." Garth said.
The blue macaws continuing racing. They are almost down.
Jewel is flying. Before the loggers came, her father taught her how to fly for the first time.
The finish line is there. Jewel finished first.
"And the winner is Jewel. Congratulations Jewel you won the flight race." Eduardo announced and the tribe and participants who raced clapped for her.
"A prize for you my daughter is a mango." Eduardo give his daughter a mango.
"Wow thank you dad." Jewel said.
"You're welcome sweetie." Eduardo said.
"Jewel congratulations on your flight racing. You been so good since you came back." Roberto said.
"Wow thank you Beto." Jewel said.
"Anytime." Roberto said.
"Congratulations honey." Blu said.
"Yeah mom. You were awesome." Bia said.
"Way to go mom." Carla said.
"Yeah you were the best racer ever." Tiago said.
"You were flying. I saw you." Banjo said.
"Me too. I admit you did great." Grace said.
"Congratulations Auntie Jewel." Belle said.
"I am proud of you." Crystal said
"Indeed you are a winner." Junior said.
"You did good Auntie Jewel." Max said.
"Thank you everybody." Jewel said.
"You're welcome honey." Blu said.
