Hey guys. I was so busy on studying on my finals. Now I get to relax and start writing again.

Chapter 30: Ring Of Scared

In the afternoon, Roberto sat in his hollow, thinking about being. captured by humans. With everything that had happened in recent years, such as Jewel's return, and the attack of the loggers. The past experiences with humans is still on his mind.

Flashback

A few years ago the loggers set the Amazon on fire. The loggers killed Jewel's mother and killed Jewel as well. Roberto was thinking about the death of his best friend Jewel, thanks to the loggers. He hates humans so much.

"Humans are very bad. My best friend Jewel is dead." Roberto said in his head. He found a Brazil nut hanging from the tree. He went to the tree to get it. Roberto got the Brazil nut but he was captured by a human with a net.

"That bird is so pretty." Colter said. He is wearing a green military outfit with sunglasses.

"Aw yeah. We will be rich." Hank said.

"Let me out of here." Roberto squawked, banging against the cage. "Let me out!"

"Quiet pretty bird. No more sounds." Colter said to him.

"Let's put him with the other birds." Arnold said.

Roberto found himself put in the back of a van with various other caged birds. At that point, he was too terrified and scared on what happening. The last time he saw humans, they had destroyed the tribe's home and killed his best friend Jewel. After a long ride, his cage was removed from the van.

"Great work Colter and team." His boss named Dexter said.

"Of course boss." Colter said.

Colter opened Roberto's cage and reached to it, grabbing him tightly. Roberto bit his hand and Colter screamed in pain. Arnold grab him. Roberto was placed in to another cage. That place was Manaus, just outside the Amazon. He sees the poachers are talking to each other. Colter paid the poachers. Colter then turned to look at him.

"Don't worry little fella. You will have a new home with a new human family." Colter said to Roberto.

"What?" Roberto gulped.

"He means you will be bought by a human." The hyacinth macaw spoke up.

"Bought." Roberto said.

"Yep." The red cardinal. "The humans will buy you with their own money. The humans will take you home as their pet."

Roberto is having thoughts when he heard stories from Eduardo of the pet birds who were raised by humans.

"No way." Roberto shook his head. "There is no way I am becoming a pet."

"Well like you have a choice." The Scarlet macaw said.

After a long night. Roberto woke up and find the marketplace. His stomach is growing and he is forced to eat seeds.

"Seeds. I want mango." Roberto said.

A little girl named Heather put her face in front of the cage.

"Hi, pretty birdie!" Heather said, tapping the cage with her finger.

"Ah! Leave me alone!" Roberto yelped.

"You are so cute." Heather giggled. "Mommy, I want this one!"

"Ooh, he's a handsome one and look at that hair." A woman leaned in to gaze at Roberto.

"We'll take this one, please." Emilia said.

"An excellent choice." Colter smiled. "I can put a leg ring on him named Polly."

"I love that name Polly." Heather said.

Colter grabbed a leg ring, and, once again put gloves on, and reached into the cage.

"No, no!" Roberto struggled as one hand grabbed him. "I won't be a pet! My name's not 'Polly'!"

The other hand forced the ring onto Roberto's ankle.

"There, all done." Colter nodded.

"Yay!" Heather cheered as her mother picked the cage. "You will love our new home Polly."

"This can't be happening. I am a wild bird." Roberto said.

Emilia and Heather are going home. Emilia is driving the car. Heather and Emilia went inside the house.

"Daddy, Daddy." Heather said. "Look what I got a new bird. His name is Polly."

"Wow that's nice." Gregory said.

Heather put her new pet bird in her room.

"Polly, this is your new room." Heather said. She got a box full of crackers.

"Do you want crackers?" Heather asked her new pet bird.

Roberto took a bite of the cracker. The cracker was so salty. He couldn't even swallow it.

"Aw he likes it." Heather said.

Her father Gregory came to check on the bird.

"Hey Polly how you doing boy?" Gregory asked him.

Gregory opened the cage, Roberto realized this is his chance to escape. Roberto bite him on the thumb.

"Yeow." Gregory said. "That lousy bird bit me!"

Roberto took flight for the forst days. He found a open window to escape.

"Polly come back here." Heather yelled.

Roberto ignored her completely. Roberto is flying to his real home the Amazon Rainforest.

"Freeeeedooooom. No more living in the human house. Freedom." Roberto cheered in victory.

During on the way home back to the Amazon Rainforest. He enjoyed the fruits mangos and Brazil nuts and he enjoyed the food he have. After two days of flying, he found his tribe at last. He went to meet them.

"I can't let anyone know about this." He talked to himself. "If they know I was a pet, I am so screwed."

Roberto took off the ring of his leg. He flew down to join his friends.

"Hey guys. I am back home." Roberto said.

"Roberto is that really you?" Eduardo asked him.

"Yes it's really me." Roberto said.

"What happened?" Mimi asked him. "We were looking all over for you!"

"I was captured by humans and then I found a way to escape." Roberto answered.

"Thank goodness that you are back." Eduardo placed his wing on Roberto's shoulder.

"You are now safe from those awful humans." Mimi said. "If they kept you as a pet, that will be bad."

"Yeah." Roberto nodded. "That would be so terrible."

The rest of the tribe gave Roberto a welcome back. Roberto glad that everyone believes him.

Roberto will keep that dark secret forever and not reveal it to anyone.
