(Scene: The Fandom Theater - The Apartment Hallway)
(Maddie skipped in ignorance through halls, wondering where anything might take her. As she made her way, she passed a strange door that was different from the others and stopped. Unlike it was red with a gold name plate, the name plate was instead emerald green)
Maddie(Curious): Hm? Curious. This door stands out. (Thoughts to herself) I wonder… (She knocks on the door)
(Nothing happens)
Maddie: hmm…. (She was about to make her leave)
(The door suddenly opens. A girl looks to see who it was while being sleepy)
(The girl had coral brown hair that was tied in a high ponytail held by a white ribbon bow. Though almost nearly closed due to exhaustion, you could see that she had emerald green eyes. She wore a white baggy shirt and black shorts along with green socks)
?(Tired): (Yawns) Who's there?
Maddie: Sorry! I had not a clue that you were getting some shut eye. This door stood out like a sore thumb and I couldn't help but wonder what made this door so different!
?: Oh. yeah, whenever someone gets a room, the door and the room gets customized. This just happens to be my room. And you're not intruding or anything. Don't worry.
Maddie: But you seem to have been out like a light.
?: Well, I have been meaning to be getting ready for the day already. And besides, it'll be nice to meet new people. The only other employees I've met are VP, Lucky, Snowflake, and Hammy.
Maddie: (Excited at the potential new friend) Oh! Okay!
(Scene: The Fandom Theater - ?'s Room)
(on one corner of the room was a bunch of electrical equipment and PCs while one side had a nice looking fireplace. Overall, the place was really messy and filled with papers. There were some comfortable chairs to sit at and there was a table with a coffee maker as well as an oven and microwave. There was even a minifridge on the side of the table. On one side of the room, there was desk with a computer screen with all kinds of technology and was next to a bed)
(Maddie was sitting near the fireplace in an armchair. ? held a green mug and gave it to Maddie)
?: Here's some hot chocolate for the winter season. I do hope you like it!
Maddie: (Takes it) Thanks! (Sips it, and her eyes light up) Wow! This is just as good as the tea my dad makes!
?(Appreciative): (Takes a seat on a nearby chair) Why, thank you! It's great that you think that!
Maddie: (Keeps drinking eagerly on her mug and realizes something) Oh wait! I forgot to mention my name, silly me!
?: It's alright. However, it's not too late for introductions.
Maddie: Well, then. My name is Madeline Hatter. Maddie for short.
?: (Smiles) Nice to meet you, Maddie. My name is Monika.
Maddie: You too, Monika!
Monika(Curious): I wonder, what are you here for?
Maddie(Confused): I don't follow.
Monika: (Elaborating) I mean, why do you work here, exactly?
Maddie: Oh! Well, VP wanted me and my friends to work here. It was a wonderlandiful opportunity, so we agreed.
Monika: That's it?
Maddie: (Nodded) Both me and Kitty, my wonderful girlfriend, wanted to help out our friend. And ever since then, we have been having adventure to another. But we still stuck to each other along with the friends we made here.
Monika(Melancholic): Must have been nice… to be with your friends.
Maddie: (Notices this but decided not to press forward) Anyway, why are you here? Do you work here as well?
Monika: Oh, well yes. I do work here. I practically live here.
Maddie: What do you do? I mean, I'm pretty sure me and my friends just help around and explore.
Monika: Well, I take care of the technical coding. I am pretty good at it. And I would sometimes do the security work.
Maddie: (thought of something) How come I never seen you around before?
Monika: Well, perhaps it's because I spend more time in my room working.
Maddie(Shocked): But there is a lot to explore! Many sights waiting to be seen by new people! Why stay alone here?
Monika(Sad): (Looks down and frowns) I guess I've gotten… used to being alone.
Maddie: But don't you have any other friends?
Monika: I guess… VP and I would talk about some funny and interesting stuff as we discuss work. Lucky would talk about each other's problems. And Snowflake would check to make sure I'm alright.
Maddie: That's good! (She looks around, and notices a picture on the desk)
(The picture had Monika in the middle along with three other girls with the frame saying "Literature Club!". The girl on the right of Monika looked happy with short coral pink hair and a red bow along with bright sky blue eyes. The other girl on Monika's left was short in height and had short pink hair with pigtails along with pink eyes. The final girl with a shy smile on the left of the photo was pretty tall and had long purple hair and purple eyes. They all seemed to have been wearing a particular school uniform)
Maddie: What about the people from your school? Your club?
Monika(Surprised): I'm sorry?
Maddie: Well, you're probably in high school. And I noticed that you seem to have been in a club before.
Monika(Scared): How did you- (Realizes something. And looks back at the photo on her desk) Oh… Yeah, that.
Maddie(Worried): Did something happen?
Monika(Hesitant): It's… complicated.
Maddie: What could have occurred that made a gap in your friendship?
Monika(Regretful): (Eyes shown guilty) Just… a big, selfish, stupid mistake.
Maddie: Well, I'm sure you will be able to make it up to them.
Monika: How are you so sure?
Maddie: (Smiles) Because I know you're a good person.
Monika(Doubtful): You don't even know what I did. How can you be so sure that I, someone you just met minutes ago, could be a good person?
Maddie(Sincere): Maybe I don't know the horrible mistakes you've made. But if you weren't a good person, you would've told me to leave you alone all harsh and rude. A bad person wouldn't have been so kind to let me in and given me delicious hot chocolate!
Monika: I was being polite. Who knows, maybe I could be manipulating you.
Maddie: But are you?
Monika: No, but-
Maddie: Then you're not a bad person. You might have made some huge mistakes in the past to make yourself a bad person, but that doesn't define who you are now. You learn from your past so you can improve to be a better person now.
Monika(Surprised and emotional): … You sound so sure.
Maddie(Confident): Because I know I'm sure.
Monika: (Lost in thought for a moment) … I'll think about it. But it might be difficult.
Maddie: Well, if they were your friends, then they might forgive you.
Monika(Sad): I'm not so sure.
Maddie: I'm positive that you'll forgive each other. After all, good friends would do anything for each other, right?
Monika: (gave out a small smile) Yeah…
Maddie: Can I see your poems?
Monika(Happy): Sure!
(Scene: The Fandom Theater - Food Court)
(Kitty and Maddie were sitting at a table having lunch)
Kitty: Seems like you've had some fun with your new friend.
Maddie: (Sips some of her tea) She's really nice! Though, she said she was really busy as a bee on her work. Wonder what it was to get her so worked up on it.
Kitty: Maybe it was really important. Like how VP always worries over fanfiction.
Maddie: Maybe. (Thoughts to herself) If so, then Monika must be really dedicated to it. She refuses to come out. But I did promise her I could show her around.
Kitty: (Raises a brow) Isn't that Hugo's job?
Maddie: Well, I want to show my new friend around.
Kitty: (Looks away with envy) That's nice.
Maddie: But I also want you to come as well!
Kitty: Why?
Maddie(Excited): I don't want my girlfriend left out! And I want you to meet Monika and maybe even invite Brooke along as well! It would be tea-rific!
Kitty: (Smiles lovingly) it sure sounds like it.
(Scene: The Fandom Theater - Monika's Room)
(Monika was typing on her desk very rapidly, determined on the mass amounts of code on screen that she was working on. She felt really tired, as she had bags in her eyes. But she couldn't move her hands away from the keyboard)
Monika(Focused): 'C'mon! I just need…'
(A voice in her head speaks. It sounded like Monika)
?: You'll never be able to finish in time. Give up! You're still a pathetic, selfish, and horrible person! You're the reason your friends are gone!
(Monika ignores it, as if used to the cruel voice. Nothing seems to stop her)
Monika: 'I can't give up now…'
(Flashback)
VP(Worried): I know you want to complete this project, but know that you can't push yourself too much. I have to make sure your health is okay. And remember that I'm always here along with the others in case you want to talk.
Lucky: You didn't think it could get worse. You're no monster. Just a high school girl way in over her head with a crush. Sure, the things you did were horrific, but you have regret. No terrible person has that.
Snowflake: Remember that you need breaks as well. You may not be human, but you still have a human heart layered through all that code. If your friends were here, they'd want you to rest.
Maddie(Sincere): Maybe I don't know the horrible mistakes you've made. But if you weren't a good person, you would've told me to leave you alone all harsh and rude. A bad person wouldn't have been so kind to let me in and given me delicious hot chocolate!
(Her friends… the literature club. Laughing together as they shared cupcakes and poems without a care in the world. They all smiled as they have each other)
(Flashback over)
(Monika finally stops her typing. She closes her eyes and hang her head upwards)
Monika: (Talking as if someone was there) Maybe I should just sleep for a while. (Looks at the photo at the side of her desk) You'd all probably talk my ear off if you ever knew about this.
(Doing this, she grabs the photo and takes herself out away from her computer. She yawns as she wents to lay on her bed, holding the photo close to her heart)
Monika: (Feels herself be sleepy) *Yawn* I promise, I'll make things right, girls. Just give me some time. (Her eyes grew droopy, almost closing them) … Good night… (And she sleeps)
