Paul's POV

The night itself was quiet after this. Jordan eventually crawled into bed and when I was sure that she was asleep I went out into the living room to sleep on the couch again.

Sam called a little after 5:30 am to ask about his daughter. I picked up the phone cautiously, Jordan was standing there beside me when I did this. "Hello"

'Hi Paul, is Jordan up yet?'

She nodded, smiling at me as I answered him. "Yes, she is. She's standing right here."

'Ok Jordan, I dropped your meds off with Spike. Lou knows how to give them to you. So you can head over there to get them. Have a good day.'

She pulled out her phone typing into it before putting it up to the phone, a mechanical voice came out of it. "I will Sam, will you be home for dinner tonight?"

'Unfortunately, I'm working, so is Jules. I know she hasn't been around lately during the nights but you will be alright, won't you?'

Jordan pulled her phone back typing again quickly. "It's okay, I like to spend more time with Paul. He can spend the night, can't he?"

'Yes, he can, if his parents don't mind him spending the night again?'

"They don't mind, If I wasn't here then I would probably at Sam's place anyway."

'Well have a good day, oh and don't worry about Spike, he won't interrogate you too badly Paul.'

Jordan shook her head pressing the end button on the phone, before running off to her bedroom not closing the door. I followed her quietly, "what are you doing?"

She just looked at me grabbing a towel that was sitting there before heading to the washroom. Shutting the door behind her. I nodded realized that she was having a shower. So I pulled out my phone sending a quick text to Sam.

'We should be there in less than 2 hours.'

I sat there as Sam messaged me back. "did you get around to calling Sue last night?"

'I had messaged her about the appointment, I will give her a call about it today unless you think she is awake right now?'

"She is awake right now according to Seth, so you can give her a call right now."

Looking through my contacts I find her number before pressing call, she picks up after a few rings. 'Paul how are you doing?'

"I'm alright. So I was planning on bringing my imprint by to meet you, she has to meet a counsellor so instead of the school one I was hoping for her to get appointments with you."

'I will need her information if you can text them to me but I will see what I can do, don't worry I won't make her meet up with school one if I can help it. Did you want to get out of class too or are you going to show her the way today?'

"I was going to show her the way today, probably this afternoon. I will text you her information or have someone drop it off for you today."

'Okay have a good day with her, let me know what is happening, if you need the time off I can call the school about that too.'

"Okay" I hear the shower stop so decide to get off the phone. "I will talk to you later" With that I hang up the phone.

A few minutes later she came out wearing a change of clothes, pulling out her phone from her back pocket of her jeans. "Shall we get going?"

I nodded, "did you want to walk or drive?"

She types away for a second. "Walk if we can, you can leave your truck here."

We leave the house and start walking towards this other house to hopefully her being able to talk again, its not that I didn't like this but I was missing her voice.

When we get there she just walks right in not even bothering to knock on the door at all. In the kitchen I can see a middle-aged man looking at a computer screen, when he finally looks up he is smiling. "You must be Paul?"

I nodded looking over at Jordan. She glared at him and I could swear it said, 'be nice to him or else' This caused me to start laughing. "I can take care of myself, you go get what you need."

She nodded walking away. I wanted to talk to this other person. "So, you've been spending nights with Jordan?"

I nodded. "and you are?"

He smiled sticking out his hand, "I'm Spike, or at least is what most people call me. You look like you wanted to talk to me about something."

I smiled. "I have a counsellor that is a lot better than the one at school. But she needs to see the file, if I gave you her contact information, do you think you could get her the file?"

He nodded. "She is still probably going to fight you about going to see someone. She used to fight both Sam and Jules about it. Though she has gotten better well until a few things lately, I know she doesn't want to go see anyone again."

I smiled looking the direction she went, staying quiet for a second. Spike looked at me, "There is something else bothering you, what is it?"

"What exactly does that medication do?"

Spike smiled. "It coats her vocal cords so they can move freely. Trust me her start at life wasn't a very pretty one. You haven't seen or heard her nightmares yet have you?"

I shook my head, a growl slipping from my lips. Someone did this to my imprint. "No are they bad?"

Spike nodded to me. "Very bad, but that is something you can talk to her about if you two actually start dating." He smiled as Jordan came back into the room. I nodded to him.

"Are we good to get going? I'm sure Emily would love your help in the kitchen again!"

She nodded, "I'll meet you outside in a minute okay, just need to talk to Spike about something here."

Spike nodded looking over at me. "Give me that number before you go and I'll see what I can do about helping you with everything you need."

I nodded pulling out my phone writing down Sue's name and the phone number of how to get a hold of her during the day and in the evenings. When that was done I handed him the paper and left going outside to wait for them to be done. A few minutes later she came out with a smile on her face, I leaned down and gave her a kiss. "I love hearing you talk again."

She blushed for a second. "So, what happened last night do you know?"

I shook my head. "All I know is that I went over there and Jared and Kim were cuddling and she seemed pretty upset. I growled at her for upsetting you then went into the kitchen to talk to Emily and get the food. After that I pretty much left and went right over to your place."

She nodded as we slowly got back to her house. "Do we have to take the truck or can we walk over it is such a nice day out today?"

I smiled at her putting my arm around her, "Of course we can walk there, it is really nice which is actually surprizing for this time of year."

So, we walked down the road in a very comfortable silence before I finally got some courage to talk to her about Sue. "So, this morning while you were in the shower, I called the counsellor that I was telling you about. She has put the appointment on hold for you to go see her tomorrow afternoon. I swear she is nice."

Jordan just smiled. "I'll think about it but I don't like the idea of missing school to go to this appointment so if you can get one later in the day that would be great."

I smiled, she didn't say no, in fact she actually said okay. "I'll see what I can do but would you consider missing school this one time just to meet her?" She shrugged as we got to Sam's place, "we can slip in the back door which leads right into the kitchen if you'd prefer?"

She just shook her head snuggling in close to me. "I really don't want to talk to Kim right now and she will be in the kitchen. So, can I just stay with you?"

I shook my head, I needed to talk to Sam for a bit about the patrol schedule and I couldn't do that when she was sitting on my lap. "I need to talk to Sam about work stuff, it is actually really boring. So why don't you go in and see Kim if something happens I will be around, okay?"

She nodded as we walked in the front door of the small house. Most of the guys were in the living room but I was sure that the girls were all in the kitchen. Jordan just looked up at me and then at Sam, he had been standing outside when she had taken off, probably could have heard the yelling that was going on outside.

I sat down in my usual chair, I looked over at Jared. "Okay so what really happened yesterday? And don't tell me you don't know."

Jared looked at me a little grim. "honestly dude, it was Kim who asked a question. Your imprint answered it and then the only other thing Kim will tell me is Jordan yelled at her and ran out of the yard." He took a deep breath. "I did order her to apologize to Jordan. For whatever she did it isn't fair and that sending another imprint crying isn't right."

I nodded just as Emily walked out of the kitchen and whispered something to Sam.

Meanwhile

Jordan's POV

I walked into the kitchen leaving Paul with the other boys. Going over to Emily smiling at her. "Do you need any help?"

She smiled at me. "Jordan, can you deal with the pancakes again for me?"

I nodded going over and starting to make them. "The boys sure eat a lot of food."

Emily laughed. "Yes, they do, which is why we always get our food first."

Kim walked over to me just smiling. "Look Jordan … "

I put my hand out stopping her from talking. "Listen Kim I just want to forget the entire thing, I really don't want to talk about it."

"Look Jordan, Jared said …"

I placed a hand on her mouth. "Don't you dare. I told you I didn't want to talk about it."

She continued to talk before I yelled. Emily looked at Kim before stepping out of the room.

Emily's POV

I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room where Sam was standing. "I need Kim out of the kitchen please."

Sam nodded to me. "Send her out here."

I walked back into the kitchen. "Kim, you're needed in the living room."

Kim just looked at me. "I need to apologize for yesterday, Jared told me I had to."

"That can wait until later."

She stomped out of the kitchen. Jordan just looked up at me. "Thank you" I could see she had been crying but maybe she really wasn't willing to talk about it and that I was okay with. She took over for what Kim was doing to while I was busy working on other aspects of breakfast. When it was all ready and she was sitting down with her plate I went back into the living room to grab Kim.

"I don't want you upsetting her again. I know what Jared said but give it a break for right now. She said that she didn't want to talk about and so we are going to leave her alone." I turned to everyone else who was sitting in the room.

They all let Kim get her food first but when we got out the dining room Jordan wasn't there. It wasn't until Embry spotted her outside on the back patio that Paul looked at me. "Can I take her some food and go join her?"

I nodded to him. "Go out to the spot in the woods that you guys all like and have a picnic there she might enjoy it a bit more. Plus, it gives you a little more privacy."

He nodded taking off out the door with 2 plates of food. I knew most of them would be listening into the conversation that they were having out there, but it wasn't something that I wanted Paul to have to deal with right now. He was having enough issues dealing with his imprint as it was.

Paul's POV

I walked out the door holding 2 plates of food. The one that she had made up for herself and the one I had made up for me. "Did you want to take this and go for a walk in the woods with me to have a bit of a picnic?"

She shook her head having a seat on the steps. She hadn't taken the plate yet and part of me was concerned about that. I didn't know if she usually ate breakfast or not. I kinda just assumed but if she wanted to talk privately this wasn't the best place. My packmates were in the house probably listening to everything that we were saying out here.

"I don't understand why Jared would make Kim apologize. I just want to forget the entire thing. We all know what happened. I ran out of the yard and ended up at the beach where Embry found me and brought me home after calling you."

I smiled sitting down beside her. "Did you want me to talk to Jared and have him tell Kim to drop the entire thing?"

She nodded, nudging me playfully a bit. "Yes please. That would make it a lot easier today being here."

Handing her the plate, she took it silently.

"Please eat, I know I love hearing you talk but right now I want to make sure that you are completely healthy." I smiled at her starting to eat my food too.

She looked up at me for a second, there was something in her eyes that partial said that she wanted whatever was going on to be kept quiet. "Can we talk alone? I mean I can hear the guys inside, I have a few questions for you."

I nodded standing up. "Bring your plate. We can go have a picnic in the woods."

She blushed a little, now this I had to hear. "I am a little bit of a klutz, so I don't think that is a good idea, maybe after we eat we can go for a walk?"

I nodded sitting back down, but while we were sitting here eating I decided that I could discuss the date plans for Friday. "So, Friday … we were thinking a few things. Maybe dinner and then going out to the movies after."

She smiled as she finished her breakfast, bringing the plate up to her mouth and licking it a little bit before Emily appeared at the door. "JORDAN!"

Jordan looked up at Emily with a smile. "What? It was good." She giggled before handing me her plate using her finger to take a last bit of breakfast from it.

I laughed taking the plate offering some from mine. She took one of the sausages in her fingers, licking it before taking a bite. Watching her do this it went straight to my lower region. But it made me really happy that she could be playful. It was a side of her that I hadn't seen at all in the past 24 hours. When we were both finished eating, I took the plates and put them inside, handing them to Emily.

"Ready for the walk?"

She nodded holding out her hand. "As ready as I'll ever be."

That caught me off guard. But I still took her hand and lead her towards the woods. She walked silently beside me, but it was a nice silence. It was as if she was thinking about what she wanted to ask me when we got to the space. It didn't take us too long to get to the spot.

When we did get there, I pulled her down onto my lap. "Now we are alone, what did you want to ask me?"

She looked up at me. "Can you tell me about this counsellor that you have set up for me to meet?"

I laughed. "She is really nice. She is Seth's and Leah's mother. She really understands some things that happen in our lives. She grew up in this town, so she knows how hard it is to keep things quiet. She will make sure that no one really finds out except for the people who absolutely need to know."

"I don't want to miss school, there is one person that will be there who partially know what happens and I don't want it to get out. Can you maybe call and see if we can meet her today?"

I hugged her close to me. "I know she doesn't have anything open. I can see if we can push it later the following week."

She shook her head. "Sam will never allow that. He will insist on it being done before we go out on Friday or he won't let me go."

I nodded. "So just go tomorrow, we can go for a walk right now and I can show you the way between the school and her house." I stood up still holding her, it took a second before she screamed a little and giggled. "Did you actually want to walk?"

Jordan nodded giggling more. "Yes please." As we were walking her phone went off 3 times really quickly. She pulled it out, looking at it before looking at me. "Give me a second, I need to call Jules, she just sent me a few texts saying she has to leave for a few days."
