Jordan's POV

Gym class was fun we went outside and played soccer. The two other girls in the class are really great, the one was actually dating Embry on and off. I laughed and slightly teased Embry about it a bit through class as we played.

It was nice and it almost made me forget about the counselling appointment that I had following gym class. When it was done Embry was waiting outside our changeroom for me to get changed when I could hear Carly one of the girls go out and start talking to him. He just laughed and explained he'd meet her in the next class that he had to take me to go meet up with Paul first. When I came out, I smiled up at him. "You could have gone with her. I would have texted Paul and told him to meet me at my locker instead of his."

Embry just shook his head. "His class is just past his locker, so it works out better if you meet him at his locker."

I nodded and followed him to my locker where I put my books and then followed him to meet up with Paul. Paul smiled down at me wrapping an arm around my waist. "How was gym?"

"It was alright. I got to play soccer and tease Embry a pile cause this girl Carly is in the class and they have been dating or meeting up for a few months on and off now."

Paul laughed. "Oh, she is really nice." He turned serious for a second. "You remember where Sue's office is don't you?"

I nodded huffing at him. "Yes, I remember." I glared at the floor for a second. "I'll see you back here in just over an hour and half. Should be about the time that you are done your final class."

Paul nodded. "Then it is off to your house for dinner. I'll get your homework from your final two classes from Seth."

I nodded back, smiling, and waving bye as I left the school.

When I got to the corner one way leading to the beach and the other way leading to this counsellor I decided to turn toward the beach. What were they going to do, force me to go? Last time Ed and Sam tried that they found out very quickly it wasn't the easiest option. Besides me skipping one wouldn't be such a big deal.

So, I turned to the beach, it was completely vacant. It was one of the places that I really did enjoy. Listening to the water was actually calming. It was one of the few things that I had found that would help with the night terrors that I got. They weren't very pretty, and I had been very lucky to not have had one when it had been just me and Paul. That did kind of remind me that I should probably give Paul Sam's number in case one does happen or at least the number to the station. He wouldn't even understand when one of them hit. I needed a chance to release that side of me, Sam normally understood but for some reason he too was insisting on me attending this stupid appointment. I truly was fine, why did everyone seem to insist on me discussing this again and again and again. I had been over what happened to me so many times I could recite it in my sleep. I was coping just fine with the life I had been left with. The people who had done this to me were in jail and would never be released so why talk about it.

I heard a noise in the forest just over beside the beach. Something very big was over there. Chancing a glance in the direction I seen a large fluffy tail. It looked to be a brown black colour. Though it didn't seem to be interested in me as it was leaving and by the looks of things it hadn't been there that long, so I really was completely safe.

The alarm went off on my phone signalling it was time to head back to school. I huffed wishing I could have spent more time at the beach. Getting up off the stone where I had settled for the past while I made the walk back to the school and glad Paul would be there. Though I didn't have a very good feeling about tonight. Part of me was feeling off, normally I don't get any warning signs of anything, but this felt like one. As I am walking though, I push the thought away as it just being nerves as to the fact that I was going to be introducing Paul to the rest of the SRU squad tonight and it could get a little heated before the night was out. When I managed to get to the school it was still a few minutes left of class, so I decided to go to my locker to get my books before heading to meet up with Paul at his locker and heading to my house.

When I got to his locker the bell rang. He walked out of his class smiling when he seen me standing there quietly playing on my phone. He glanced around quickly before kissing my cheek lightly. "So, we have to meet up with Seth and then we can head to your place. He texted that you do have a page of homework in each of your other two classes, but it should be easy."

I nodded smiling. "Alright. I have my Quileute homework from him in my bag here. It is a matching thing and writing a few sentences about my day. Also translating a few common words. So, it is going to take a while, but I figured that you could help me." I smiled up at him hopeful. If he didn't help it would end up taking me at least an hour to do this one class.

He just shook his head. "I'm not answering it for you. Knowing Seth, he probably gave you some really easy stuff to do. Besides we can work on it slowly if we have to and I'll be there to check your answers so it will look to him like you are actually getting it." He shut his locker and we started walking towards Seth's locker.

"Hey Seth, do you have my homework from Chemistry and History?"

He nodded handing me two booklets, before explaining. "We get a booklet a week from each class, and through the week have to work through it. Just worry about the reading and work from day one from each of them. If you have any questions Paul can help or you have my number." He smiled before waving at someone. "Embry is taking me over to Sam's, are you guys coming tonight?"

Paul shook his head. "We are going to Jordan's for dinner." He looked at his phone. "In fact, we should actually really be going. See you in the morning Seth."

Seth just shook his head. "Actually, I'm working for tomorrow morning. However, I have spoken to our Quileute teacher and will leave some work for Jordan with Sam in the morning just whatever she can get done during class. I'm off to see Mrs. Thail for some lesson stuff for her right now before heading towards Sam's."

Paul smiled and nodded. "Tell her that her son is great thanks." He laughed as he turned me around and started walking towards the parking lot. "It is Jared's mom. When he and his younger sister were old enough, she went back to teaching. She is actually teaching grade 1 right now so about what you will be doing in a day or two in Quileute which is great."

I smiled. "Is his younger sister here? I mean I would love to meet her."

Paul nodded. "She does go here. Probably playing soccer right now. She is about your age so it might be nice to have her around and be another person you know. Despite she doesn't come to Sam's at all she is still in the loop with us."

When we got to the truck, I hopped in. For most of the walk to it I had remained quiet part of me deep in thought as to what was going to happen. Paul had already met Spike and Lou so they should be fine together. Hell, I had left Paul and Spike alone twice to talk and nothing had happened. So why was I now so scared. Maybe it was Wordy or Rav that were causing this anxious feeling but either way it wasn't making anything better.

We pulled into the yard and I could see Wordy's truck there. I did wonder how his girls were handling the change in schools. It had been a while since I had babysat them, and it was about time that I found a night to do it again.

When we walked in, Paul looked down squeezing my hand. I nodded leading the way to my room ignoring the yells from the kitchen. A minute later Sam came to the door. "How about you come to the kitchen and help make dinner? It is almost done anyway; we are having tacos tonight. Lou got all the toppings for you to have as many as you want on them, he also got you the small chips, so you don't have to have the soft tacos with us normal people." He smiled at me before turning. "But it is nice to see you following the rules Jordan of keeping your door open."

Paul looked at me questioningly. "We have a rule in the house that if I have a guy over in my bedroom the door has to stay open." I explain as I took my books out of my bag placing them on the desk. "We can work on homework after dinner?" I looked up pleadingly at him.

He laughed and nodded. "Of course, we can. I'll look over your stuff to help you. I don't have much so I can do it after I go home or rather back to Sam's anyway."

I nodded content with that before walking towards the door, however to my surprise Paul beat me too it almost closing it. "I wanted to ask how the appointment went today, I mean you haven't mentioned it at all."

I huffed for a second. "It went fine." I pushed passed him walking towards the kitchen. Sam's eyes had been on the door when it was almost closed. And he gave me a questioning look when we walked into the kitchen. "Paul wanted to ask me something privately. But no worries we are still both fully clothed okay, dad. So. keep your cool we didn't do anything; besides it wasn't even completely closed anyway which is what the rule is."

Sam nodded looking around the kitchen. "Jordan can you set the table please?"

I nodded walking over there to see what else was needed. Wordy was sitting in the living room looking over some paperwork. "Hi, Wordy." I grin at him. "I'm surprised you didn't jump Paul when we walked in the door."

He glanced up from the page. "Yes, well I wanted to give you a chance to break the rules and tell him what was going to happen. But it appears you are being a good girl." He closed the folder motioning for me to have a seat on the couch with him. "How was your appointment today? Sam told us that you were having your first one with a new counsellor."

I shrugged. "It was fine."

He glanced at me. "Fine?" Shaking his head in disbelief. "Jordan, I doubt that. I mean I know you normally you yell and scream about this."

By this point I was staring at the carpet on the floor. A hand went to my chin lifting my face up as a growl left my lips. "I said it went fine. I have said I am fine a million times, but no one ever listens to me."

Wordy glanced at my eyes. "Put the eyes away, Jordan." He was back to his normal self telling me what to do with his SRU voice. "Now stop lying to me. If you didn't want to go, argued with Sam about it this morning and it was just fine it is rather a big surprise."

The pure force it took to force my eyes to go back to the normal colour was enough to do it. Everything turned red. I shut my eyes running for my room praying no one got in my way. When I got there, I could hear Paul asking what was wrong.

Quil's POV

~rewind~

During patrol I decided to take a run by the beach. It wasn't usually part of one of the patrol routes, but it was a nice spot to get a drink and if it was vacant it would be perfect. When I got there though Jordan was sitting on a rock. She should be at her appointment. Though she wasn't crying or anything which was good but still she shouldn't be here.

A few branches broke as I turned to get out of there before heading to Sam's he should know about this though I do suspect that Sue would call and tell him but this way he would at least know where she was during her appointment. When I got to the edge of the woods by his house quickly told Leah.

'I have to go talk to Sam for a bit. Jared should be out in the next 10 minutes, you'll be fine?'

It was almost immediate her response.

'Ya, sure. There isn't anything really around at the moment. Besides it is sunny out, perfect time to stop and admire that fact. Jared is patrolling with me the rest of the night. You are off in half hour anyway so why not quit early?'

I smiled and phased throwing on some clothes before running up to the house. Jared was there eating a muffing while Kim was pouting in the living room, glaring at Sam.

Jared just shrugged it off, before turning to her. "I told you the consequences of it and so did Jake. But you chose to not listen. Maybe tomorrow you will leave her alone or just straight up apologize that making someone run out of the yard crying isn't right whether she is an imprint or not but especially if she is."

"So, no making out and no cuddling tonight because she started crying again? It was only a few tears ask Quil he was there." She turned to Sam and Jared.

Sam turned to me shocked. "You still had another few minutes before your shift ended."

I nodded. "But I need to talk privately to you, Sam." I turned to Kim. "Jake warned you to drop it. She was in tears. You come over accusing her of being the reason you can't make out with Jared and practically yell at her for it. You should have backed off, Kim. I'm sorry but Jordan is very sensitive about whatever happened that afternoon."

She huffed, opening her book again turning away from all of us.

Sam led the way to the back porch, pointing to the benches. "So, what is this about?"

I let out a breath. "It is actually about Jordan. I went to get a drink from the ocean but when I got there Jordan was sitting on a rock on the beach."

Sam put his head in his hands shaking it. "Damn. She didn't listen and actually go to her appointment with Sue." He nodded. "I'll go inside and call her. Thanks for the warning though. I remember Paul mentioning something earlier. I should ask her about it." With that he went inside, and Jared came out looking around.

I glanced up at him. "Kim isn't very happy. Don't you think it is a little harsh taking away her ability to kiss you at all?"

He shook his head. "I got to see Paul's thoughts from that night. Jordan was terrified. Her running like that was a defense and to what we don't know. Imagine what would have happened if she ran into the woods. True with us roaming these woods normally vamps don't get too close but imagine if one did and caught her. Paul would never have forgiven any of us, especially not Kim."

I nodded, fearing what would have happened if it was Claire. "I get it. I'm just saying you guys kiss so frequently. It is going to be pure torture for her to watch Sam and Emily in the morning knowing she can't do it with you."

He nodded. "That is kind of the point. Paul said he couldn't barely touch her that night for the first hour or so without her stiffening in his arms. Whatever happened in that car she needs to take responsibility for." He looked at his phone before placing it on the chair. "Best be off to work. Have a good night." With that he took off.

I went back inside. Heading for the living room pulling out my math book wishing Jordan was here to help me with this. The guys all arrived a little later. Seth was super excited about all the fun stuff he had gotten from the grade schoolteachers for Jordan to work in Quileute. I thought for a second, maybe Jordan would be interested in a trade. I'd help her with this easy stuff from Seth if she would help me understand this impossible math homework. Just as we were about to eat dinner. I mean Emily had already called us to the table and everything Paul walked through the door. His face was solemn as he walked up to Sam and whispered something him. Sam rose from the table leaving his food and followed him outside and they disappeared down the road. They had probably headed to the beach to talk the two of them. Obviously, something had gone wrong with dinner, and by the look on Paul's face it was something huge.

Paul's POV

~rewind~

I followed Jordan into the room walking over to her. She was huddled on the bed similar to the way she had been the other night on the couch, but this was different. She was shaking her whole body was absolutely vibrating. Sam came over pushing me away attempting to force her to lay down on the bed and release her knees.

"What's wrong?"

Spike looked at me grim, shaking his head at me.

Eventually Sam got her laying down before he turned to the door. "Lou, the cupboard above the sink in the …"

Lou nodded. "Green box." Before running off.

"What is happening to her?" I looked directly at Sam. Jordan had pulled her knees back up to her chest shaking her head at Sam. I caught glimpses of purple in her eyes, but they had glossed over, so they were darker.

"Spike take him into the living room and explain it."

Spike put his hand on my shoulder attempting to force me from my spot in the doorway as Lou came back with a needle and a small bag with a few supplies. Spike whispered to me. "You don't want to stand here and watch this. Let's go into the living room like Sam said and I'll explain what is happening to you."

With one last longing look at Jordan I left following Spike to the living room before hearing Jordan start screaming. Each one tore into my heart she was in pain, but I knew Sam wouldn't be hurting her, but she was in pain and hurting and scared. I started shaking myself before making fists with my hands and taking a deep breath. I had to stay human, I couldn't phase I needed to hear what Spike had to say about what was happening with Jordan. He walked over to the coffee machine and looked at the full pot before pouring himself a cup gesturing it to me. I nodded, "Sure thanks."

He handed me the cup along with a jug of cream and a bowl of sugar. Sitting down on the couch beside me just as Sam, Wordy and Lou came out of her bedroom closing the door quietly. They each came over putting a hand on my shoulder before grabbing a coffee and having a seat.

"I haven't explained anything to him yet. He still seems to be in shock."

Sam nodded. "You and Wordy have seen the most of them, you have even seen more than me."

Spike nodded. "Remember the other day we were talking, and I mentioned something about her having really bad nightmares, and if you two started dating that she would more than likely explain them to you?"

I nodded hesitantly. "Yes, I remember that conversation. You said you won't explain them to me."

Wordy looked a little guilty. "Jordan made us promise not to say anything about them to anyone outside the team. She still feels guilty about them happening. Because sometimes they happen during the day and some random thing will set them off."

I gulped. "What set this one off?"

Sam shook his head. "I'm guessing it possibly had something to do with her appointment this afternoon with the counsellor. I'd like to talk to Sam if this is what happens after them, we can't risk it happening too often. What we did will cause her to sleep through the night, but it has side affects that won't be too nice tomorrow."

"Like what?"

Wordy was the one to answer. "Like she is going to be very argumentative with anyone and everyone all day tomorrow. She will be really terrible and competitive in Gym class. Anything she doesn't understand will seem so much harder and then there is the risk of her cutting which we have to watch out for."

My mouth hung open. "So, Jordan just had a night terror in the middle of the living room and managed to get to her bedroom. What was the screaming about? And why were you forcing her to lay down?"

Sam nodded, taking my cup of coffee away from my hands and placing it on the table. "Yes, she had night terror in the living room. Her bedroom is safe for her and she knows that which is why she went to it. She knows the house well enough that she can find her way there with her eyes closed which is why she has that room. The screaming was part of the terror, it was quite loud I understand. As for forcing her to lay down I need her arm to be by her side to give her the needle and it is also easier to get her sweatshirt off if she is laying down. Wordy and Spike have done it several times and they have said it is so much easier when she is laying down and the few times I've done it that way it is a lot easier." He placed a hand on my knee for a second. "Look, I do understand your concern about this. But she is completely fine right now. But did she say anything to you about her appointment?"

I just shook my head. "She said it was fine. Which I took as a good sign. Really it was just supposed to be a meeting between the two. Just to introduce them to each other. I never expected anything more than that for today."

Wordy glanced at me. "Maybe it really did go fine then. She told me the same thing, but I pushed not believing it. As remember the last move in Toronto, Sam?"

Sam nodded. "Yes, I do." He ground his teeth glaring at the floor.

My eyes met Spike's. "I take it the last move meant a change in counsellors and it didn't go over too well at all?"

Spike laughed. "That would be the understatement of the century. It was about 8 appointments before Jordan even made it there. Then it was another 6 before she even said more than 6 words in the appointment. But it all got worked out, so as I said stop worrying about them. If something happened, we have the day off tomorrow and Sam will hear from Sue, she has his number."

I nodded, grabbing for the coffee again and starting to drink it. "Alright."

Sam looked at me. "Paul, you are still more than welcome to stay for dinner and spend the night on the couch again. However, if you want to leave that is fine too. I know what you seen tonight can be hard for anyone. You wouldn't be the first person to run away after seeing and hearing this. She has that habit with people which is why she is so closed off all the time with them."

I thought for a second. "You said you wanted to talk to Sam?"

Sam nodded. "If he really is the one who controls everything here then yes, I need a word with him though I would prefer it to be face to face. Though I can't leave Jordan here alone or even with just one of us, in case she has a relapse."

I nodded. "I'll head over to his place see if we can talk and then have some dinner and come back with him so you two can talk." I got up and started walking towards the door.

Wordy got up following me there. "Listen, despite what you might have heard. Jordan really does like you. The simple way she was talking about you on Saturday when she was working, especially the way she was when Spike was teasing her as she was working on Baby cakes. Just give her the chance to explain this all to you. It isn't the easiest thing to bring up to a guy, especially one that you like."

I glanced into his eyes. "You know this personally?" Something told me he knew what she was really feeling right now. That he knew on the same level as I did what she was going through.

He nodded. "I have some experience with it, or at least some of what you are going through. Though mime was different."

I nodded. Sticking out my hand. "Thanks." He took it shaking it. "I'll be back with Sam so you guys can talk about what you need to."

Sam nodded. "Thanks."

Spike glanced at the door with a smile. "If Emily made anymore cookies bring us back some and I'll make sure you get to leave on time for your date on Friday."

I face palmed. "How many people know about the date?"

Wordy laughed rubbing his hands together. "The entire team. And man oh man are you in for some very interesting questions when you land at the SRU on Friday. You must be there at about 10:30am for us to get all the questions answered. Well that and for you to see how she acts around all of us."

I nodded, waving once to Sam who nodded back to me. "I'll be back in a bit, though I don't think there are any cookies left. I'm pretty sure that they all got eaten that night."

The guys all laughed as I walked out the door, before turning back inside. "Is it cool if I leave my truck here. I mean if I'm spending the night on the couch anyway, tomorrow is supposed to rain and if we are supposed to keep an eye on Jordan."

Sam nodded. "Sure, it is fine. You didn't block Wordy in?"

I shook my head. "I am blocking the blue truck."

Sam smiled. "That's mine so you are good."

With that I left walking towards the Ulley's house. Sam should be there unfortunately Emily would have just probably put dinner on the table, but we needed to talk. He needed to know this, and I needed Seth off of patrol tomorrow morning. If we needed to keep an eye on her all day then we needed to make sure that someone was with her.

When I got to the house everyone's eyes were on me. Emily glanced at me as I made my way over to Sam, gently placing a hand on his shoulder and whispering ever so quietly. "Sorry but we need to talk alone. There is a problem with my imprint."

He turned to face me, and I guess my face said it all. He got up from the table pointing at the plate and then to Emily then to me before she nodded. I smiled and mouthed "Thank you" to her before he left the house and headed for the beach.

When we got there Sam looked at me. "You look like you are about to pass out Paul." He pulled me over to a rock. "Have a seat and tell me what is happening."

I took a steadying breath. "Jordan has night terrors. Like really very super bad ones. She had tonight when I was over there. Her dad says there are problems with the meds he had to give to stop it and he wanted to talk to you. I told him we would eat then I'd ask you to go over with me so the three of us could talk. If this is about my imprint, I want to be a part of the conversation."

Sam nodded. "Problems that are serious enough to get me involved?"

I nodded. "Plus, ones that are going to require you change the patrol schedule for tomorrow." I looked up at him feeling guilty.

He nodded. "Alright. But first I think you need to eat something."

We stood and started walking back to house. "This really scared me. After her dad and his coworkers thought I'd leave Jordan for this happening."

He nodded, "You reassured them that it wasn't going to happen?"

I nodded. "Of course, she is my imprint. I'm not going to let something like this get in the way of us being together."

When we were almost to the house, he stopped me. "In the interest of you knowing everything so this doesn't come as shock to you, Jordan didn't go to her appointment this afternoon."

I gaped at him. "No, she told me she did. She said it went fine."

Sam simply just shook his head. "Quil, seen her at the beach, sitting on a rock."

My eyes grew big in realization. "So, what happens now then?"

He shrugged. "I told Sam the first one he can deal with. However, any and all missed appointments after that will fall to me. Sue is planning on calling Sam in the morning to discuss it then going over and being there when she gets home from school tomorrow afternoon." He took a breath before continuing. "This was just an introduction meeting, and she skipped it. It doesn't look good right now Paul. But we will take this one step at a time. There are a few things I am willing to try before I get the rest of the council involved. It will work the same way as it does with you 3 strikes, on your fourth strike I call in the rest of the council to help deal with a solution. You have been there, and you can warn her about that, she doesn't want Billy and Old Quil involved in this matter. As missing counselling appointments is rather serious, especially in Old Quill's eyes."

I nodded as we walked in. Most of the pack had left. Guess each heading to their homes. Emily had 2 plates of dinner on the table for us each covered with a bowl keeping them warm. I glanced at her hoping to get something. "Emily, do you have any more of those chocolate chip cookies that you made yesterday?"

She nodded. "I had saved a few for Sam and I why do you ask?"

I took a bite of food. "Well Spike said that if I could get him a few he'd make sure I make it out of the station on time on Friday for our date."

She laughed for a second. "I'll go get them, but you owe me."

I laughed. "I'll take Sam's patrol shift on Saturday or Sunday so you two can spend the day together."

When she came back with a small container. "I want the container back. And we best make it Sunday after all Saturday I'll be busy with getting things ready for the bonfire that evening."

I nodded making a mental note that I was going to have to ask Jordan if she wanted to come to it with me. "I have to remember to ask Jordan about that and you might want to put the cookies into a bag then."

When we finished eating Sam picked up the phone. "I'm going to call him and make sure he is still okay with discussing this."

I nodded, waiting there patiently though I could hear every word of the entire conversation.

"Sam it's Sam Ulley calling."

'Oh, one sec. He was in the washroom.'

"Sure."

'Sorry about that. I told Paul I wanted to talk to you face to face.'

Sam nodded. "I understand that, and he did say that. I just wanted to make sure that now was a good time to come over to discuss this. Plus, Paul would like to be there too. He wants to be a part of the solution to the problem. Also, we have another matter to discuss as well."

'Sorry. I do understand now. Yes, it is an okay time. I was pretty sure myself that he'd want to be part of the discussion, what he seen and heard tonight seemed to have freaked him out a bit.'

"I do understand that myself. He explained some of it to me. We will leave now and be over in about 10 minutes."

'Okay, if you drive make sure you don't block the white truck if it is still here. Go ahead and block the red car though.'

"We are walking over."

With that Sam hung up. "We should get going." He kissed Emily just as Kim walked into the room.

"Oh, gross you two. Why is everyone kissing right now. I bet if Jordan was here, you'd be all over her too just to rub it in." She glared snatching the muffins off the table.

Emily smiled at me, before turning to her. "Kim, you know what you have to do to be able to kiss Jared again. Sam agreed that the punishment was fair. Just do what is asked and then you can kiss him again."

Kim looked up at me with pleading eyes. I know I really shouldn't get involved in this, but it is really hard not to. I glance over at Sam.

"Although I do agree that Kim should be punished for her actions. I doubt with what happened tonight that she will be able to successfully apologize to Jordan tomorrow. So, I would say this Sam, they can kiss when we aren't here, or only after Jordan and I kiss on Friday night during our date."

Kim glared at me. "How is that any better. You manage to beat Jared every morning."

Sam smiled. "Kim, he is giving you an out. Take it or leave it, which will it be."

Kim thought for a second it seemed. "I'll take it." She came over and hugged me. "Does this mean Jared can come off patrol for tonight?"

Sam simply shook his head. "He is patrolling for the next 3 nights. And no Paul is not talking me out of that punishment. Because that one came from Emily for what you did in the kitchen the next day, true it has to do with Jordan, but it wasn't called for."

Sam pulled me out the door after that as we started to walk towards Jordan's house and hopefully finding out what her father was going to do about her skipping the appointment.
