Sue's POV
I dialled Sam's number putting the phone to my ear as Paul left with Jordan. "We need to talk about a few things. I just finished my appointment with Jordan."
I could hear him groan on the phone. 'I will call her father and have him come over to my place. I assume that is who you want to speak to.'
"That would be great. I'll come over right now so we can all chat."
'Sounds good. See you in a few minutes.'
With that I hung up the phone grabbing my notes that I had taken that day along with me. Though I hadn't written down much. Jordan had refused to talk to me about anything really.
When I got to Sam's, Sam Braddock and Spike were both there sitting in the living room. It was slightly shocking that they had beaten me there.
Sam Ulley's POV
When I got off the phone with Sue, I immediately called Sam to see what he was up to. He had informed me the other day that he was off on Wednesday in case there was a problem with Jordan then he would be around to deal with it in the afternoon.
'Sure' he said when I asked if he could come and join us. 'Spike is over here too. He came over after getting word that Wordy had run into Jordan and Paul at the beach.'
A laugh escaped my mouth. "Ya. Paul mentioned this morning about wanting to take her to the beach and seeing how her math class was just doing work sheets all day I said it would be fine. He mentioned something about it relaxing her, though I don't think that the trip was very relaxing."
A nervous laugh escaped his lips. 'No from what I hear something happened. But Wordy seemed fairly convinced that the threat to Jordan has been permanently taken care of.'
"Yes, it has been. But come on over, we can discuss this stuff with Sue and if we need to I can send out a mass text telling just Jordan and Paul to come here tonight."
'Okay, see you in a few minutes. Best to drive or walk?'
I groaned. "If Jordan can recognize your car then it maybe better to walk cause if I do have to suspend the normal dinner tonight, I doubt seeing your car here will help matters."
I could hear the wind in the phone as he replied. 'We are on our way.'
It was surprising when both Sam and Spike beat Sue there. After a short introduction to Emily I explained that I was going to do my best to ensure that the council wasn't called together for this first time. Then explaining the rule that I had set out for Jordan this morning and how she had chosen to disobey it. Spike was smirking at the end of the conversation. "What?"
"She is rebelling. Trying to see what will happen when you put down rules. Simply extending it won't mean much. I mean Sam did that when she snuck out when she was grounded, she would just keep doing it."
I nodded glancing between the 2 of them. "What do you two suggest then?"
"First, find out really why she disobeyed the rules. To all of our surprise there might be a very logical explanation as to why it happened. If there is then simply extending it might just work, as for what Spike said about the grounding it is one of her more hated punishments so it simply ends up getting broken but the house might be harder to sneak out of than the apartment was."
I nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, to my knowledge she has listened to the rule the rest of the day. Has stayed with someone the entire day. So, it may have been a certain situation this morning that caused it to happen."
Sue arrived carrying a pad of paper along with her iPad. "Sam," she greeted me with a small smile before turning to Sam and Spike. "I wasn't expecting to see both of you."
Spike nodded. "You were expecting Rav?"
She nodded. "He seemed to be the one who could control Jordan a bit better. No offense to the two of you but he was the one who convinced her to put her purple eyes away." She turned to me. "If he isn't here then it might be a good idea if the full council is called."
I felt Emily tense on the couch beside me. "Sue, for the time being we need to discuss this. It is exceedingly rare that I will agree that the council gets called for the first offense and you know that. I get it that you consider this to be her second, but she didn't know about the council when she skipped the first one, so it wasn't fair. And I do believe that the rule that was set down is that she attended the meeting with you today or they would be called."
She huffed opening her iPad and her notes. "Well, Jordan came in and while we were in the kitchen, she was talking quite fine. Even asked if we could stay in the kitchen to talk. Have a snack at the dining room table for the session."
Sam glanced at her, looking a little weary. "And you said no."
She nodded. "It is a rule that they all have to take place in the special room that is set up. I have it painted nice calming colours, well calming for some people. When we entered that room, it was as if something happened."
Spike was smirking again. I am fairly sure he knew what had happened in the room, but I was planning on letting Sue actually finish what she was saying this time before I started asking him to explain that look.
"Let's just say she spent the next hour going between glaring at the floor or walls, shrugging, nodding or shaking her head and one-word answers."
By this point Spike was snickering and that got my attention. "What is so funny?"
He cleared his throat glancing at Sam who was wearing a similar smirk as what Spike had worn a few minutes ago. "We told you she had done that in the past. She is a master of the game. If she doesn't want to answer a question, she will just do that and if she is unable to answer it in one of those things then she will simply ignore the question completely."
Sue nodded. "She did that too. Completely ignoring some questions that I had asked her as they would have been forcing her to give me more than single word answers."
Emily glanced at the clock. "They are about to start last period."
I nodded. Pulling out my phone sending a mass text out to the pack. 'I need Jordan and Paul only at the house tonight. Don't worry about informing Jake and Quil if they show up it might be fine.'
"Do you think what happened at the beach could have made matters worse?"
Sam shrugged. "I can't see how it would, this counselling thing has been a thorn in her paw for a long time so to speak. She didn't want to go in the first place and the counselling rooms she well I have heard her describe them as hospital lock down rooms. For the most part it may have been a better option to have it in the living room, though I do understand that rules are rules. Yet, if it is going to make opening up so much easier for her why not do it?"
"It is court mandated counselling there are rules that can't simply be broken. I get it if you want them to stop then she needs to actually open up but her not doing that will cause issues for all of us. It would only be the full council who can reverse the order and Sam refuses to call them." Sue glared at me putting me in a spot that was going to end badly.
"If Jordan and Paul arrive here, Paul will recognize Old Quil's car. What do you think is going to happen between his truck and the front door?" I wasn't 100% sure what Jordan would do but Paul would for sure act irrational towards the entire situation. "I want to hear what Jordan has to say first, then if need be I can message Jake and have him and Quil come and sit outside the back door in case she does decide to run if I have to call the full council together."
Sam smiled. "If Jordan knows what can happen if the full council is called then she is liable to run, and more than likely fight anyone who gets into her way. Her purple eyes will come out and the full power of them will be turned onto anyone who stands there." He scratches the back of his head as his eyes go blank for a second. "And believe me when she decides to do that there truly is nothing good that will ever come of it. Very few people can withstand the full power of those, and it is hard enough for them to do it."
I nodded. "Paul explained to Jordan yesterday what would happen if the full council does get called together. I figured it would be helpful if we had to use the threat of calling them together in order to get her to go to the appointment." I thought for a second. "You had mentioned the other day to I think Paul that this had happened before?"
Sam nodded. "Yes, it has happened before, where are you going with this?"
My phone buzzed just as I was about to answer him. 'From Embry, Jake and Quil are planning on stopping by for dinner. Thought you should know!' I groaned. But they may have good timing if they do show up. It means that around the time we are going to be talking they will be hanging out around the back of the house in the woods, which could be a life saver if Jordan does decide to run. "How did you manage to stop her from doing this last time?"
Sam paled as did Spike. "To be quite honest with you we really don't know." Sam spoke up glancing at Spike who non-chalantly shrugged at him. "It happened between a conversation with her and Rav and neither one will speak about it."
I nodded. "You don't want to get him involved with this right now?"
Sam just shook his head again giving Spike a very odd look. "What is the deal with that smirk and shrugging are you trying to be Jordan?"
Spike laughed. "No. It is just that almost all of us wanted to know about that conversation she had with Rav and it turns out it wasn't just with Rav. It was with him and Ed, but you know the way those 2 are about things. From what I have been able to find out as long as Jordan listened and started talking normally during the meetings then nothing would happen. If she didn't there was a threat presented that from all accounts wasn't going to be all that pleasant."
"Is there anyway we can get him here?"
Sam shook his head. "Jordan would freak. I do want to hear what the deal is and what happened during this meeting as well as this morning. She would recognize his car even if it were at my place or Spikes and if he were here, she wouldn't come inside the door."
I nodded. "He is the other one there this morning?"
Sam nodded. "Ya, he was. He is the team leader and quite frankly is probably the most stern person with Jordan besides Rav. However, he has the one issue that the second her eyes are turned on him he will cave completely. So even if he were here, he would be as useful as the rest of us."
I nodded again. "Alright. They should be getting out of class now and they will come here." I turned to Emily with a smile. "Did you want to start dinner?"
She nodded to me with a smile before standing up though she nodded to the kitchen. I nodded back before looking at the group. "I will be right back."
Once in the kitchen, she started getting a normal dinner ready for us. "I had a thought. We are having the bonfire here on …"
I held up a hand stopping her. "If this is an idea about Jordan, I think everyone should hear it." With that we went back into the living room. "Emily had an idea about Jordan that might be a compromise."
"We are having a bonfire on Saturday night at the beach. So, I'll be doing prep work for it for the majority of the day. What if Jordan comes by at say something like 10 or 11 and we can talk about things while we are prepping for that. I mean it might make it easier to open up if she can be doing something at the same time. I mean it helped me."
Sue scoffed. "You want to give her access to knives while you are trying to force her to talk. I know you went to counselling classes, but Emily I very much doubt it is a good idea to be doing that."
Sam looked at me. "What do you think about this idea? Also, this is the first I am hearing about this bonfire is Jordan planning on going?"
I thought for a second. "There will have to be some restrictions put on what she can and can't do that day by way of prep work. I do agree that knives might not be the best of ideas. Also, having Sue there might not be a bad idea either. But I also think the informal setting might help with the issue concerning her wanting to do it in the living room at Sue's place."
A few seconds later we heard a truck pull up into the driveway. Though when the doors don't open, I get up and go to the doorway to glance out the window. "They are here, but I think Paul is trying to convince her to get out of the truck they seem to be arguing." Though with the windows on the truck and the window on the door open I could hear exactly what was being said and the two of them were very much so arguing about going inside.
Paul's POV (Rewind)
I was sitting in Chemistry class when both mine and Jared's phones went off. Glancing at the message on his phone I figured it was basically the same one I had gotten. "What did your imprint do now?" Jared laughed for a second.
I shrugged. "Great, probably something to do with her counselling appointment." I thought for a second, before remembering this morning. "I was going to ask you to do me a favour. Could you talk to your sister for me, tell her that laughing at Jordan isn't nice as she did when Seth was going to text you to take Jordan to the washroom this morning during second period."
He nodded. "She knew there was a security risk to Jordan, and I was on spare that period which is why I was the one who was to be called. But if that is why she left without waiting for someone I will most definitely have a word with her." He thought for a second. "How do you plan on pulling Jordan away from Leah and Kim after school?"
I groaned. That was going to be a task. Ever since Jordan had forgiven Kim this morning those 2 had become really close. "I have no idea. Maybe tell her that you and Kim are having a couple dinner tonight together."
Jared nodded. "I'll text Kim and tell her about that so it will work out well for the 2 of you. As she wouldn't have gotten the message from Sam. As you can see it says "PACK" up at the top of the message."
I smiled. "One problem solved. Now it is just what the hell did Jordan do during her meeting that has us having a solo dinner with Sam and Emily."
It didn't take long for the period to end and when it did, I raced to my locker before heading to Jordan's she was waiting there happily talking to Leah. I glanced around quickly and without seeing any teachers around us I leaned down and kissed her cheek.
"Gross you two. But I should get going." Leah said before turning away.
"Where is Seth?" I asked before she left.
"He wanted to go to his locker and since I already had my stuff, I volunteered to take Jordan to her locker and wait here for you." She smiled at me. "She has been good all afternoon you should be proud of her. Even let Jake take her to the washroom at one point from what I hear."
Jordan put her face in her hands. "Don't say things like that." I could see bits of blush appearing on her cheeks. "Yes, I was a good girl and listened to the rule that was set up. Simply because I don't want it extended again for me not listening."
I smiled down at her, starting to pull her towards my truck. "I'm glad to hear that. When did you have to text Jake?"
"During health class. The teacher refused to let Embry leave with me. So, I asked Embry to text Jake and I went and waited outside in the hallway, from where Embry was sitting, he could still see me so I hoped it would be okay. And Jake confirmed that it was fine as I had listened."
I was actually shocked by this and it was definitely something I was going to bring up with Sam when we got there. All of the teachers were supposed to have been told that she was to have someone with her all day and if this one teacher wasn't then I was proud of her for finding a suitable solution. Part way out to the truck I stopped. "I need a word with Embry quickly is that okay if I text him and that we are a bit later getting to Sam's than what we normally would be?"
She nodded and smiled as I pulled out my phone sending a quick text to Embry asking him to meet me at my truck. A few seconds later he came out the door.
"Can I catch a ride to my place from you guys?"
I nodded as I opened the door. "You sit in the middle Jordan." I smiled down at her happily. Before shutting the door and looking at Embry. "What happened during health class?"
"We were doing a quiz and Jordan happened to be done and handed hers into the teacher then when she came back to me, she said she had to go to the washroom. So, I told her to go up and ask the teacher if I could take her. After that the teacher came up and seen that I still had 4 questions left to go and she told me that Jordan would either have to wait until I was finished or I had to hand in my quiz right then before taking her to the washroom. And since health counts as 20% of our final mark I needed to pass this quiz but seeing how it was the 4 questions that were worth the most I texted Jake and told Jordan to go wait outside the classroom and if need be I'd explain this to Sam that she was listening.."
I nodded pleased. "Good. I'll discuss it with Sam tonight when I get over there, but we should get going Sam is probably expecting us."
We both got into the truck as Jordan turned her attention to me. "All okay?" she looked worried.
I nodded. "All good. I just wanted to hear exactly what happened during health class and if it comes from Embry then I can tell Sam that I wasn't persuaded by your womanly ways." I winked down at her as we drove to Embry's place.
"Jared and I are working together tonight if you wanted to take it." Embry said getting out of the truck. "I mean it would give the two of you a chance to discuss your date night on Friday." He winked at Jordan playfully.
"Have to see what is happening at Sam's first but I'll send you a text if I am going to take it. If not maybe have Quil swap with Jared and then Jared can take his tomorrow during first 3 classes." I grinned at him before shooing him out of the way.
"Why isn't he coming to Sam's tonight with us?"
I shrugged. Honestly, I didn't know what was happening to cause us to have a meeting with Sam and it only be the two of us coming to dinner. "No clue, he might want to get some sleep before going to work tonight. He'll stop by Emily's and get some food before starting. Sometime the nights are super long, so we want some sleep."
She nodded seemingly accepting the answer as we pulled into Sam's driveway. She could see in the window leading to the living room. "Why is Spike and Sue here? I mean that is her car, right?"
I nodded and gulped. "Yes, that is her car. Why don't we go inside to find out?"
She turned glinted eyes to me. "We could just go back to my place and have some quiet time cause if Spike is here, we can be damn sure that my dad is here too."
I took a breath that look in her eyes was sending power to my cock really quickly it was even more powerful than the hickey she had given me the last night at her place. And the loose cut-offs weren't going to do much to hide it. "Jordan, no. Let's just go in and see what is happening you never know it could be a good thing."
She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "But what if I don't want to go inside. I'll probably get yelled or asked a million questions."
I laughed looking up seeing Sam standing at the door. "Come on, I'm sure Emily is cooking something really yummy tonight."
She growled at me. "I'm not hungry. I'm not going inside that house. I'm going home you can either take me or I'll walk."
I laughed. "Sam is standing right there. You leave the property without one of us and you'll be in even bigger trouble than you were earlier today with Jake." I held out my hand to her. "Come on inside with me if you want to go out to Forks for dinner after we hear everything, I promise I'll take you."
That seemed to do it as she turned back around flipped her hair behind her shoulders and got out of the truck. "You better keep your promise."
When we walked into the house Sam and Sue were both sitting in the living room. Sam was sitting beside Spike and Sue was in the chair. I pulled Jordan over to the couch, pulling her down onto my lap shifting slightly so if she wanted to have some comfort she could get access to my neck for some odd reason it seemed that sucking on that one spot calmed her. "What's up Sam?" I thought for a second before remembering about the health teacher. "Before I leave tonight, I need to discuss something with you about school."
He nodded to me before turning his attention to Jordan. "Can we talk Jordan?"
He was trying to be nice. But I have my doubt about her really wanting to discuss anything him right now or really ever. But slowly she nodded. "Sure, we can, what's this about? I was good all afternoon. Even when things happened, I listened to your stupid rule."
He glanced at me. "Things happened. What do you mean?"
"She had to go to the washroom during health class and the teacher wouldn't let Embry go with her. I was going to talk to you about it after." I quickly glanced towards the woods hoping he'd get the message and when he did, he nodded.
"Okay, I know you went to your appointment this afternoon which was incredibly good and for that I am proud of you. You had told your father that you'd go and even went for a bit of a fun time at the beach before going there." He took a breath but before he could continue Jordan interrupted him.
"I have a feeling there is a but coming here." She giggled against my neck.
His eyes turned stern. "You are right. But you chose to not really talk during the appointment. I get that it is hard to discuss these things. However, until you actually talk and have a fully participated appointment with Sue then it is not going to end."
Her body started vibrating ever so slightly. "This isn't my fault. I didn't want to go to this appointment to begin with. I didn't want to see anyone period. Yet you all want to force to go."
In a move that I can't recover quickly enough from Jordan was up and out of my arms and into the kitchen before we heard the backdoor slam shut. And Emily yelling at Jordan to come back.
Jordan's POV
I couldn't stand it any longer. The look on Sam's face as he was being told that I had decided to talk as little as possible during this appointment. The feel of Paul's arms as he tried to soothe me had been the one thing that had held my eyes green. But I had to get out of there, the original thought was that the kitchen would be safe then when I seen Emily cooking in there, I knew it wasn't going to be. When I seen the door leading outside, I knew that was the only place I could go and possibly sort this out enough to get somewhere.
I stomp my way towards the edge of the woods. I technically was still on Sam's property so it would hopefully not be considered me breaking the rules but as I was slowly coming back to my senses a set of hands grabbed my shoulders causing a shriek to leave my mouth.
"Hey, don't freak Jordan, it's only me." Jake said with a smirk.
Placing a hand over my chest I glare up at him. "What the hell are you doing here? From what I heard, Sam sent out a text ordering it to just be me and Paul here for dinner."
He laughed. "Been at work and we don't have our phones with us when we are working. But come on I can smell Emily's cooking."
Just shaking my head, I glared up at both him and Quil who was now smirking at me too. "You two go, I am actually not hungry at all. Though Paul said he'd take me to Forks for diner food after we were done with Sam and the crowd of people in the house." I huffed leaning up against the tree as a car pulled up into the laneway.
"It's my grandfather's car." Quil explained listening intently to something. "Think Sam called the full council together for whatever is going on here."
Full council. My eyes must have been bugging out of my head. I can't believe that had been done. Well there goes the date on Friday. Bonfire on Saturday and every other social activity until I'm dead. I wasn't discussing my past with anyone. Why couldn't they see that.
Jake somehow had managed to get me onto the back porch. "Stay here with Quil." There was that odd note in his voice again. Part of it making me groan. How did he do that?
I nodded pulling my legs up to my chest slowly hugging them. I could hear Jake talking to someone quietly but not quietly enough that I couldn't hear him. When I had heard enough that he was going to force me to come inside and talk to everyone I decided to go myself I'd storm back outside after I was done yelling at everyone in there.
I knew my eyes had turned a very deep purple when I walked into the living room the scared look on my dad's and Spike's face said they knew I was pissed.
"You all want me to talk about this. Bring it back up. Well I do remember everything that happened to me. Every touch and every finger on my body. I remember it so clearly every morning when I can't even call Paul to tell him good morning, because I can't talk." I turn my eyes to Spike and my dad. "You want me to live through it again and again with a counsellor. One who won't ever be able to understand what it feels like to be me." I glare around the room at everyone. "You all want this and apparently if I refuse to do it my live is going to removed from any social events for the complete future of my life." I took a deep breath though it did very little to help any part of me. "You, none of you. Get it. I'm sorry its hard to talk about. But I just want to move on as much as I can. Not constantly be pulled back to a time in my life that I had no control over anything that was happening to me. Can any of you get that?"
I glanced around the room. Paul moved to try and get close to me, but I shook him away. I was looking towards any one to have understood what I had just said. "Am I not speaking English?" I yelled at everyone and no one. I shook walking for the kitchen and back onto the porch having a seat in the swing there.
Jake came back out. "I can't say that I understand you completely Jordan. And although my best friend is going to have my head for talking to you about this. Embry might be someone who does. He has to talk to Sue once a week but since he started working with Sam it has gotten better but at one point, we thought his temper was going to be worse than Paul's."
I nodded glancing up at him. "You can sit if you want. I'm not going to run." He was standing at the stairs onto the back deck, with his arms crossed over his chest.
He took a seat on the top of the steps glancing at me. "If someone had a plan to try and help you out would you go for it?"
"I don't want to talk about my past, Jake. What part of the little rant inside did you miss out on? You were there for the entire thing." My eyes were green, but they still held his for a second before releasing him.
"Emily has an idea. Would you at least listen to it?"
I huffed. Obviously, he wasn't going to give up so I might as well give in. "Fine, I'll listen to this idea, but I can't guarantee that I'll go for it."
Jake nodded, yelling for Emily to come join us outside. When she came out, I noticed that her scars were showing a little more and part of me had the uncontrollable urge to run my fingers down them to see if they were really as deep as they appeared to be.
I tapped the swing with my foot. "Come have a seat and let's hear this idea."
She nodded having a tentative seat. "Okay so I think I may have messed up. I told your father about the bonfire on Saturday."
I just shrugged. "If Sue has her way, I won't be allowed to go anyway so who cares."
Emily placed a hand on my knee. "Sam is trying to prevent that from happening. And surprisingly that yelling match in there that you had with no one seems to have gotten him on your side rather well I might add." She laughed for a second. "So, Saturday it takes hours to prepare all the food for the bonfire, so I was thinking sometime around 10 or 11 you come over. We kick all the boys out of the house. I send Sam to go find you that wolf and send him here so you can take some pictures. And he guards us while we prepare everything for the bonfire. But the condition is you have to open up, I know it is hard but sometimes if you are working talking is easier. We can invite Sue over and anyone else you want but anyone you don't want here won't be here."
I don't think she understands that the last sentence has 2 very conflicting statements. "I don't have to have anyone I don't want here but yet we are inviting Sue. Emily thanks for the offer but no thanks at the same time. I don't want to discuss this part of my life. How can you of all people not get that?" Tears were threatening to fall. I hated this, part of me was angry that they were like that. The other part knew that it was natural. I had used my purple eyes too much today to stop it. So, I finally just gave into my body and let it do what it wanted. Released what was inside me and let it finally have its way.
Paul came out with a slip of paper in his hands. Placing hands on my elbows helping me up. "Sam told me to take you somewhere gave me an address and everything."
