Jordan's POV
I glanced at Embry repeating my question again. "What is so funny?"
He blushed. "Just after the first time I guess you took that in front of Paul he said it smelt like Jake's feet and I thought he was exaggerating but it smells like he wasn't."
I shrugged curling into myself on the bed. "You can leave me alone now if you want too. I won't go to sleep, but I want Paul instead if you are going to laugh about that."
He shook his head climbing onto the bed with me and started to tickle me. "I promised Sam I would try and talk to you about my experience with counsellors. And I don't mean your father I mean my boss and the head of the reservation. You know the one we just convinced to let you stay in school."
Embry's POV
She stopped giggling and squirming around on the bed going completely still. "You what?"
I shrugged. "We convinced Sam to not pull the card that would force you into a lock down and unable to attend any social events."
"When did that happen? Why did it happen? This isn't my fault, what happened tonight." She got up going to the door before turning back around to look at me. "Are you coming?"
I blinked at her a few times. "Coming, where?"
She huffed grabbing a change of clothes before stomping off to the bathroom. I knocked on the door to the room. "I'll be in the kitchen waiting for you."
When I got into here Paul was there talking with the four men who were still sitting around the kitchen island.
"How did the chat go?" He asked with a smile.
I just shook my head. "Hasn't happened yet. I kinda just let it slip about us convincing Sam to let her stay in school and she went off. Asked me if I was coming but never answered where we were going."
Rav huffed. "She is pissed at either her father or Sam. But if I had to be taking bets probably her father would be on the top of her list."
Paul walked down the hallway towards the bathroom, as Sam glared at him yelling. "This isn't my fault, Paul; Sam is the one that made the ruling on this not me."
I turned. "You didn't help convince him to our side though. You just stayed quiet."
Jordan came out of the bathroom walking into the kitchen. Her hair was up in a braid knotted in on itself. "You wanted me out of all social events?"
Sam shook his head. "Jordan, I am trying to get you out of these, but you aren't making it very easy for me to do that."
"You knew I didn't want to be having to meet up with a counsellor when I got here. But you pushed and pushed and now look at where we are." She glanced at everyone, and I got to see a little glint of purple before she turned to Spike. "We should get going, I have too much work to get done on Babycakes and I want to go on the date tonight."
Spike nodded following her outside to the car that was out there. I glanced around the room myself looking at Paul, before turning to Rav.
"Any suggestions how we explain this to Sam that she isn't coming over to talk to him?"
He simply shook his head. "I could come over and try to help. Or I could go over later in about an hour and talk to him. His other option would be to meet me at my place in about an hour."
Paul nodded. "We can bring him to your place in about an hour to try and explain this." He turned to me. "We should get going, you know what is waiting for us."
I nodded. "Thanks, Rav. We will have Sam there." With that Paul and I left heading for Sam's. "So how bad was it?"
He shook his head. "Not bad. He just explained that this was a final chance, and we shouldn't blow it which it looks like we have. She doesn't like counsellors and went through a bunch of them in Toronto and now we are having issues with her here going to see one. If she was pack or knew she was a part of the pack in a way it would work, I just can't find it in myself to tell her though."
I nodded placing a hand on his shoulder. "I wish Jared had told me she wanted to talk to me yesterday. I mean we could have found a way to do what needed to be done."
When we got to the house Sam was standing outside. "Where is Jordan?"
Paul gulped glancing down at me. "Probably halfway to Seattle by now."
I pushed Paul towards the door grabbing Sam dragging him towards the back. "I know what the deal was for this morning. But after we eat, come with us to talk to Rav."
He turned his alpha eyes on me. "What the hell happened?"
"I don't really know. Apparently, she was pissed at her father and at you, so she just left. She turned her purple eyes on everyone and just left with Spike."
He shook his head running a hand through his hair. "She just left because she was pissed?"
I nodded. "I let it slip about Paul and I convincing you to give her one more chance before you remove her from all social events. After I said that she went and got changed and then she slightly yelled at her father then left."
He walked to the door, opened it, and then yelled. "Paul out here now." When he came out Sam looked at the two of us. "I don't care what you have to do but I want to talk to Rav in 20 min. You both knew this was her last chance and now it is gone. She is removed from all social events, this includes school, your date tonight, even dinners over here."
My jaw dropped. "Sam, she didn't know. She doesn't know about my situation yet. And she didn't know about the deal that was made earlier. This time it really wasn't her fault."
"You wish to join her, Embry?"
I gulped. "I want her to have a real chance, you are overreacting here, Sam."
Paul nodded. "You can't get mad at her for not coming to talk to you when she didn't know she was supposed to. She turned purple eyes on everyone, I mean they are really pretty but everyone else seemed to be stunned for a second."
Sam looked at him and me. "Were either of you stunned?"
Both of us shook our heads looking down at the ground.
"So, either one of you could have said something to stop her. Rav was there too I presume, and he could have said something to her to make her stop. I will be back in 20 min with the official paperwork and then we will go see Rav."
I stood there shocked for a second. "What the hell just happened?"
Paul sat on the stairs pulling out his phone before hitting a name, placing it on speaker phone and letting it ring.
'Hello'
"Sam, it's Paul. I need to get a hold of Rav."
'He is standing right here one sec.'
You could hear shuffling and a small voice saying that it was Paul before Rav came on the phone.
'What's up?'
"Nothing good. Sam wants to meet you in about 18 min at your place. He pulled Jordan out of all social events. He is just doing the official paperwork right now."
'Well, that isn't good. Okay, I'll head home right now. I don't know what I can do to help though if that card has already been played.'
"I have an idea. I'll tell Embry and send him over your way right now."
'Okay, I'll be waiting for him. Val isn't home so just tell him to come in.'
With that they both hung up. Paul stood up walking towards the woods. "13 Chestnut Grove is the address."
I nodded. "I know the house. But you know that the paperwork makes this official, it won't be able to be reversed by any of us."
He nodded. "I know. But we just need to let Sam hear what would happen to Jordan and then convince Rav to keep it quiet that he told someone. I need your help with that though. I don't know what this get out of jail free pass is but I'm hoping I can call Jordan and find out, get her to give it to one of us."
I shook my head. "So, your plan is to get Rav to tell Sam what Jordan was supposed to tell him and still invoke this get out of jail free pass?"
He nodded. "You don't think it will work?"
I shook my head again. "Paul, Rav said he couldn't that the loophole was just for Jordan. Why don't you call her right now and ask her what that pass is?"
He glanced at his phone pressing her picture. It took 2 rings before she picked up.
'Shit … Damn … Hell … Ouch. Oh, hi Paul.'
"Hi yourself. Are you okay?"
'Oh, yes I'm fine. Just pinched my pinky finger when I was trying to fix something on this machine here that team 4 is never getting a hold of again. What's up?'
"I have a question for you. What is this get out of jail free pass?"
'Who told you about that? Probably Rav. It was a chance to not talk once more in a session and not be penalized for it. What makes you ask?'
"Sam was going to give it to you this morning like the head of the reservation. But you left before he could do that, he needed to know something from you and Rav offered him that to give to you."
'The loophole. Well shit what do we do now?'
I shrugged. "You have any tricks up you sleeve for this one. Cause as it stands now your date is cancelled for tonight, as well as the bonfire and everything else because you didn't come over this morning with us."
Paul elbowed me in the ribs pressing the mute button on his phone. "She doesn't need to know that right now, Embry."
I nodded. "Yes, she does. In case you haven't realized this yet Paul we are out of all other options that might potentially work."
We both looked back at the phone when we heard her crying. Then we heard another 2 voices in the room trying to calm her one of them must have taken the phone from her.
'Who is this?'
"Paul and Embry"
'What just happened? Jordan is crying. In the 4 years I have known her I've never seen her cry once and she is on the phone with you and now bawling her eyes out?'
"I'm sorry. She is upset that the date for tonight is probably cancelled, or the fact she can't go to any social events until further notice."
We could hear him walking away from Jordan as we heard footsteps and her sobs getting quieter. 'I know you probably mean well, and I recognize the name Paul, but Spike went to get some breakfast and she hasn't really eaten much this morning she is on edge and has been since she got here.'
"She had a rough night. But we have to get going." I turned around to see Sam coming our way pulling Paul's attention away from his phone. "Tell Jordan someone will be there to pick her up at noon like it was planned."
'Okay, sounds good. I'll let her know.'
With that he hung up.
Sam made his way to us. "Are we going?"
I nodded. "Sam, I know it takes a lot to do the paperwork for something like this but is there anything we could do to get you to reconsider this?"
He shook his head. "I think she needs a week of this Embry, and both of your names are on here too because the two of you seem to need to learn the rules around here again." He sighed. "She really didn't know about our deal this morning?"
Paul shook his head. "No, Embry didn't get a chance to tell her neither did I. I was shocked that her father or anyone else didn't try to stop her from leaving. Not even Spike tried."
Sam nodded. "These are still waiting for my signature. I will give you three this meeting to convince me not to sign them, but you will have to know they will be kept for a bit just to make sure this doesn't happen again."
Just as we got to Rav's place I thought about something. "Sam, if we got Jordan on the phone and got her to tell you that way would you be willing to let that count as you knowing?"
He thought for a second before nodding. "That would be acceptable."
Paul jumped, suddenly happy for once. "I'm sure she will do that."
I knocked on the door and a few seconds later Rav opened it. When we walked in someone else was sitting on the couch in the living room.
Rav turned to all of us pointing to the newcomer. "Everyone, this is Ed Lane. He is our team leader and the other person who knows about the deal with Jordan. I have filled him in on what has happened that I know about. I thought he might be someone who could help us out explaining this to Sam."
Paul nodded. "It is nice to actually meet you, officially."
I waved my hand at him. "I'm Embry Call." I pointed to Sam. "And this is Sam Ulley, or otherwise known as the head ass doing this to us this morning." I couldn't help it. We, both Paul and I, had pushed so many more times before this had happened.
Paul smirked but hid it behind his hand as Sam turned his eyes towards me.
"Embry, you know very well that I won't be spoken to in that manner. I am within my right mind to walk out this door, go to my house and sign these papers forget giving you 4 now a chance to change my mind." He growled at me.
Ed stood up. "Can I speak to you outside, Sam?"
Sam turned and nodded to him.
Sam's POV
I walked out the door and onto the front porch. Ed followed me out having a seat on the bench and pointed beside him.
"I fully understand where you are coming from. I know how her past looks with the counsellors and for that reason I will agree that maybe your method might be the smartest way to handle the current situation we are facing."
I looked at him shocked. "You do understand this means her date will be cancelled. The bonfire tomorrow night she won't be allowed to attend. The plan for her to discuss her past with Emily and Sue won't be allowed."
He gulped holding out his hands. "That would be giving her partially what she wants. You remove the need for her to talk to anyone." He thought for a second. "What if we did a modified version of this as I am sure those other 2 in there are under the same order."
I nodded to him. "I have put their names in the forms as well."
He nodded. "Tonight, the date has to take place at your house where they are unable to kiss each other all evening. Jordan can spend the night with Wordy, I will clear it with him or even over here with Rav so her and Paul aren't spending it together." He took a breath. "Then tomorrow give her the chance to talk to Emily and Sue, from what I heard of Jordan's conversation with Clark she might actually be okay with the idea. If that goes well Sunday, we drag Jordan to the station for the day and that night her and Paul can have dinner with Sam and everyone on the team."
I nodded. "I can accept that. However, what happens if tomorrow doesn't go well?"
He glanced at the window over his shoulder. "As much as it kills me to say this, we will invoke what we promised would happen. She had one free pass already because you weren't made aware of this, however next time it will happen."
I nodded. "Did we want to go tell them inside?"
Ed nodded. "We can. I will have to call Jordan and let her know what the deal is." After standing up he stopped me from going inside. "Also, if you could get Paul to arrive at the station earlier and ensure he isn't alone as I think if we let them drive home together, they might get sidetracked."
I nodded. "Good idea. I can send Jake or Embry with him, but I think Jake might be the better choice as he can control Paul if he has to."
With that we walked into the house and into the living room where everyone was waiting. Ed clapped his hands looking at me as Rav, Embry and Paul all looked up.
"Sam and I have spoken, and we have come up with a compromise that we both feel is an acceptable decision here." He glanced at me before waving his hand for me to tell them.
I nodded before continuing. "Okay so Paul your date for tonight will be happening at the house if you choose to still have it. I won't be kicking anyone out though. Then tomorrow Jordan will speak with Emily and Sue as it was planned if that goes relatively well then this will be forgiven. However, should it not go well Ed has assured me that he will invoke whatever the deal is that was made before Jordan moved here." I took a breath knowing Embry and Paul weren't going to like the next part at all. "That said, Sunday no matter how anything goes. Ed is taking Jordan to the station for the day, then Paul if you choose to you can join Jordan at her place for dinner with apparently the entire team."
Paul grump in his seat. "We might as well cancel the date cause with you all around Jordan will shy away from kissing me at all. Then Jared and Kim won't get to kiss so they will be cranky. And that is exactly what I want to deal with him complaining about tonight." He got up stomping out of the house.
Embry got up to follow him glaring at me. "You know that basically means you are making us all suffer with both Paul and Jared in a bad mood. I know the two of them are working opposite all weekend, so it is going suck for everyone. Why couldn't you just let this go, Sam?"
Ed glanced at me, as Embry walked out of the house. "I will speak to those two after. Did you want to call Jordan?"
Ed nodded, pulling out his phone setting it on the table before dialling it putting it on speaker.
'SRU Seattle'
Before she could say anything else Ed interrupted her. "Emma it's Ed Lane. I need to speak with Jordan Braddock please."
She pressed a few buttons before the phone rang again. 'Tech room, Nick speaking'
"Nick it's Ed Lane Team 1 is Jordan around?"
'She is. Been cursing up a storm here. Really filling up my swear jar.'
'I have not put a penny into that damn jar of yours and that is because this all of this mess is because of Team 4, they can pay for the words coming out of my mouth today.'
I laughed. "We need to speak with her please."
'Yep, sure can one second.'
He must have motioned to the phone because next thing we heard was some grumbling about whoever was on the phone better have a good reason for pulling her away from all of this.
"Oh, I do have a good reason." Ed replied to her. "It is called saving your ass so you can go to school on Monday morning, is that a good enough reason?"
'What about my date with Paul tonight and the bonfire tomorrow night?'
He laughed. "Jordan I am a fair miracle worker you know that. Your date well let's say that if you chose to have it will be happening over at Sam and Emily's house. There are rules for it though. As for the bonfire that will depend on how your session tomorrow with Emily and Sue goes."
'Are we talking just Sam and Emily there tonight or is the whole gang going to be there?'
"The whole gang will be there."
'What good is a date with Quil and Embry and Jake complaining about us whenever we even snuggle together on the couch. The last time we tried Jake came and sat between us, do you know how hard it is to snuggle with him between you and your partner?'
I laughed. "I'm sorry, but that is the rule for tonight. As for tomorrow I will hold true to my promise and get you the wolf to guard over you as you speak with Emily and Sue."
'And Leah.' She through in there. 'Emily said I could have anyone there that I want, and I want Leah there too. Plus, she already agreed to come.'
Ed nodded. "That is all right Jordan. If you decide to behave and discuss your past with them then you can go to the bonfire tomorrow evening. However, if you choose to avoid the topic, deflect the questions, or just remain silent on the topic then Sam is going to call me, and you won't be attending the bonfire."
'You are invoking if it happens. What happened to my get out of jail free pass?'
Ed looked at me, when I shook my head, he glanced at Rav who shook his head as well. "That pass wasn't given to you. So, I'm sorry this is your choice. You got one free pass already as it should have been invoked after your meeting with Sue the first time. But your father talked me out of it, he won't be doing that this time."
'Fine, whatever. I have to get back to Babycakes and you probably have to get down here that rock wall isn't going to clean itself.'
With that she hung up the phone. I pulled out a card from my back pocket, "If she decides to tell me what the deal is you can have her call me at this number. It would be the same as her telling me this morning and I will reinstate their date for tonight."
Ed nodded, "I will pass along the message to her. But I know she wants to hear about Embry's past as well so if you could find a time that they can discuss that it would be great. Even if it is on the way home today. You could have Jake and Embry come along for the drive home."
I thought for a second, before nodding. "I can call Sue and see about changing Paul's appointment to Sunday that way he can go up right after breakfast which I'm sure you guys would enjoy much more."
Rav nodded. "That would be great."
I headed back to the house after that. As it was just the pack there at the moment, I could get them all outside and have Emily hold breakfast for a few minutes for me.
When they all came out the back door, Emily and Kim included I turned to the two of them. "You both can go back inside. I need to talk to everyone here for a few minutes."
Jared glanced at Paul and Embry before glancing at me. "What can we do for you Sam?"
I looked at him. "You can go join the others out on patrol, tell them to run the reservation 5 times then we should be good to have breakfast."
He nodded before taking off.
"As for the three of you" I turned to glance at Paul, Embry, and Jake. "I have given Jordan a bit of a gift, but it will come at a price. Paul, you are going to go see Sue right after breakfast. Then the three of you are going to go down to Seattle, to pick up Jordan."
Paul nodded. "I will go call to make sure that is okay."
I nodded waving my hand telling him to go, before turning my attention to Embry. "As for you, by the time you get back here with Jordan, I expect that the two of you would have spoken about your own situation. It will just be the four of you in the truck so it shouldn't be hard to talk, as both Paul and Jake already know your story."
He shrugged. "I guess, but seriously Sam. You are being unreasonable about this entire thing. You know we have had bad days, pushed you farther. You can override what everyone says, just give Jordan a few more chances."
I growled, stomping into the house going for the file which I had been given about Jordan. Taking it outside as Paul followed me out.
"Sue said it would be fine to come over whenever this morning."
I nodded, tossing the file onto the table there. "That is her file. It is twice as thick as both yours and Paul's. That is why she is on such a tight leash right now. This girl's temper is probably worse than Paul's if it was to ever go off in the school, we would have a massive issue to deal with, probably people in the hospital at the very least. I need to make sure that everyone is safe and right now I don't have a baseline for her. Emily convinced me that she could get one for me tomorrow and so I said okay."
The three of them glanced at the file that was sitting there. But it was Paul who went over and opened it starting to read it. There wasn't anything bad in there just notes from different situations with different counsellors she has had. Jake looked over around Paul, "Paul, is that a picture from the last time her temper went off?"
I walked over to the file glancing at the pictures, there were 4 on the page and a few pages of them for the most part it looked to have been a wall where drywall had been destroyed by someone's fist going through it. The next pages were of an individual probably taken from a hospital by the looks of things as they were signed and dated. I nodded to Jake. "Yes, they are from the most recent time of her temper going off. And by the looks of things that wasn't too long ago only a few months back."
Jake gulped placing a hand on both Paul's and Embry's shoulders. "Guys I agree with Sam. In fact, I might be inclined to demand that at least one of you are here during the day tomorrow either as a wolf or in person."
Paul nodded. "She already said Embry was cute. I am sure we can convince her to be okay with having another wolf there would be fairly easy." He grinned. "And imagine how much fun you will have Sam trying to convince 2 of them to stay in the yard?"
I groaned. "Oh joy." I turned to the house. "Paul, get in there and eat then head to your appointment, maybe take the food with you to see Sue."
He nodded still smirking at me. I just shook my head glaring at Jake.
"You know I am not staying in the yard to smell all the cooking even if Jordan does plan to feed me. I won't be doing that." Embry sat with his arms crossed over his chest as the rest of the pack returned from their run.
I hung my head tomorrow I was in for a fight. But at least hopefully Jordan would be giggling and talking to Emily, Leah, and Sue.
