Jordan's POV

The date was fun and when I woke up Saturday morning it was to my father coming home finding Paul on the floor in my room. Though we were both clothed. When Sam came into the room, he had a scowl on his face.

"You decided to sleep in the same room last night?" He looked at me.

Paul glanced at me before turning to Sam. "She had a bit of a nightmare but refused to let me call you. It was about midnight when she came and woke me on the couch."

Sam sat down on the bed feeling my forehead. "You're burning up."

Paul looked at him. "You need me to call someone?"

My dad just shook his head. "Nah, she should be fine. Probably just the result of the nightmare. Though I am glad the door was open, and you are both fully clothed still." He got up, turning to Paul. "We need to have a chat in the kitchen." He turned back to me. "Get dressed and then you can get your meds. Ed is coming over; Rav is here right now. The four of us need to have a chat before this morning."

Paul nodded kissing my cheek before following my dad out of the room.

Paul's POV

I followed Sam into the kitchen. "She seemed fine just typed me a message saying she had a nightmare and when I offered to call you, she slammed the phone down."

He nodded so did Rav. "Don't worry about that."

Sam smiled. "If you being in the room stopped it then that is fine. The nightmares are brutal at times. So, it is all okay. But you better head out, Ed and Rav and I want a word with Jordan before this thing today happens."

I gulped for a second. "You don't plan on telling her about the other thing, do you?"

Rav paled slightly pointing behind me. Jordan was standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She walked over grabbing the bottle with the syringe and placing it down in front of her father.

After she took it, she looked at me. "What other thing?" She asked with an innocent smile.

I shook my head. "Don't worry about it. Your father knew what I was talking about."

She play glared at me before turning to her father. "Paul might as well stay and listen to whatever you are going to say. Besides, I want to walk over to Emily's with him."

Ed laughed hearing her comment and walking in the door. "Your father, Rav and I just wanted to let you know that if today does go well we might have a leg to stand on about getting the location of your appointment moved."

Jordan just shrugged then nodded. "I know that both Paul and Embry have theirs in the living room or kitchen most of the time. Embry thought yesterday that if today goes well that Sam would force Sue into letting me have mine in some other location."

All of our mouths hung open for a few seconds.

Rav was the first to recover. "When did this conversation happen?"

Jordan just laughed for a second. The joy in her right now was absolutely amazing. I couldn't wait to see what she thought of the two wolves that would be in the yard all day. "Yesterday when Paul and Jake were in the diner getting us lunch and dinner. I knew he was leaving something out and I knew that for some reason Jake didn't want him to tell me, so I waited until we were alone and then I let my eyes glow and he told me." She shook her head for a second. "Well not really glow more glinting than anything else and he laughed about it then said I could put them away and he started to explain that everyone thought that if I knew I would put up a bigger fight about today."

Ed looked at her; he turned stern. "You aren't going to put up a fight today?"

She just shook her head; grabbing a handful of grapes from the bowl that was still sitting there from last night. "Nope. Cause from what I understand this gets me closer to what I want. Plus, Emily and Leah are super easy to talk to, I plan to simply ignore the fact that Sue is there and just talk to those 2. Oh, and the 2 wolves that Sam is supposed to be getting me. I mean they are going to be so adorable." She glanced back at her room for a second. "Which reminds me, I'll be back in one second."

Sam just smirked as both Rav and Ed seemed relieved. "Her sketchpad and pencils." Sam replied to my questioning look. "She plans to draw the wolves today; I think she is hoping that Sam can force them to stay still long enough for her to draw them."

I laughed; just thinking about poor Quil and Embry having to smell the food and then being told that they have to be still while she draws them. "Oh, they might do that, but I have my doubts. Though now that I think about it, there is a chance that it could happen."

Jordan came back out with a bag. "My drawing stuff. Jake said that Sam could order them to do anything so I was hoping after I'm done all I can do for Emily that I could draw them. Each once and then once the two of them together."

I nodded happy that she was going to accept this for what it was. "Well, if that was everything you wanted to discuss with her; we should probably get heading over to see Emily and get some breakfast before I go to work, and you have some fun."

Sam nodded. "Jordan, he will meet you outside in one second." She just shrugged and walked outside closing the door behind her. "The three of us need a word with you before you go off to work today if we can."

I nodded. "Sure. Did you need me to bring anyone else with me?"

Ed nodded before Sam could fix how we was feeling. "Jared if that is who was here with you last night, we need to discuss something that happened, and we were worried about it."

I nodded smiling at the three of them. "Sure thing, I'll send him a text to let him know what is happening. He should be able to join me before he takes off with Kim for the day."

I walked into Sam's place with Jordan; she still seemed fairly happy which I took as a really good sign with things. I pushed her towards the kitchen telling her that Emily and Leah were in there that I could hear them, and they were getting things ready for breakfast and that she should go help.

Heading for the living room myself I pulled out my phone, sending Jared a quick text. 'Jordan's father wants a word with us. So come by here before you start your day with Kim.'

Embry came in with Quil a few minutes later both laughing and joking about what was going to be happening with Jordan today. They both seemed happy about the fact that they got to skip out on patrolling and got to stay here having some fun.

"You both do realize that Jordan plans to draw the 2 wolves that are in the yard, right?" I laughed. "She had plans to draw each of them separately and then together."

Embry groaned. "I wish I could take back the nice thing I did yesterday for you." With that he walked into the kitchen explaining to Jordan that the wolves will be doing cute things all day and getting pictures would be so much better than trying to draw them in one position.

Jared arrived with Kim, motioning me outside and pushing Kim towards the kitchen explaining that the other girls could probably use some help.

"What is going on?" He asked when I got outside.

I shrugged. "Honestly, I'm not too sure. All her father said was it was about a situation last night that had them all worried. But if it was that bad, I'm concerned as to why they didn't try to contact us when it was going on."

Jared nodded. "Well, I have a full day of stuff planned with Kim so if we want to do this now and just have Emily hold you some breakfast that would be great."

I nodded walking into the house and over to the kitchen leaning on the door frame. "Emily, I have to run out for a few minutes, well it is probably going to be close to 30 or 45 min is it okay if you save me some breakfast?"

Emily looked at the clock on the wall. "Yes, but you are going to have to find somewhere else to eat if you are back after 11 as the only one of the boys allowed her after that time is Jake. So, you can take it to the beach if you'd like but you aren't having it here. Sam is going to have a fun enough time trying to get the two wolves to behave themselves all day for us."

I smiled over to Jordan who was deep in a conversation with Embry about what she planned to do with the wolves while they were in the yard. She ran over giving me a hug before going back to what she was doing.

I left going with Jared to Jordan's place. When we got there, there were 4 vehicles in the driveway. I glanced at each one of them. Standing in the middle of all 4, I pointed to the truck. "That is Sam's truck" then pointing to the other truck. "That is Wordy's truck. The other 2 I don't know" I told Jared; part of my wolf nature was vibrating like it felt like an ambush.

We knocked on the door waiting to hear a reply; when no one came I decided it was time to try other measures. I walked around the side of the house toward the fence that surrounded the back yard and could hear voices. When we got to the gate I yelled, "Sam, it's Paul and Jared. You wanted to talk to the two of us?"

It was Rav that came to the gate to let us in. So, one of the SUVs out front was his. I shut my eyes and tried to remember the night I went to his house before and don't remember seeing anything but a car in the driveway. But his house was close enough that he could have walked.

Sam came out with 2 cups of coffee, some sugar and cream. Jared laughed when he seen him only bring out cream and nudged me.

Rav caught the smirk that Jared sent my way and glanced at me. "I don't do cream in my coffee; Jordan did tease me about it the other day. I do milk in it everything, Jordan thinks it is odd, but I say it is better for me anyways as there is less fat in the milk than there is in cream." I answered his glance without him really needing to ask the question.

Rav nodded to me. "Did you want milk instead?"

I just shook my head. "Emily is saving breakfast for me but if I don't make it back there in time, I have to take it to go instead of having it there. So, sugar is fine for me for right now." I took one of the cups having a seat on the loveseat that they had out there with Jared. "Though I do have to say that I am surprised if there was a problem last night, I would have thought you might have contacted us last night instead of waiting until this morning."

Jared nodded. "I was shocked to hear about there being a situation last night. Jordan seemed completely fine when Kim and I left last night."

Sam nodded. "She may have and to the both of you she may have seemed completely fine this morning when she left here. But that fever combined with the nightmare she had last night the situation isn't good. She is going to have a rough go of it today and I don't know how much is going to come out, but I don't want to approach Sam about it."

Jared looked at him. "If there is a valid reason why she is going to have issues today then Sam needs to know about it."

Rav shook his head. "We were there when Paul tried to bring up her having an issue and we tried ourselves. Sam is beyond reason. We understand why but right now there is very little we can about the situation."

Jared got up not understanding a lot of what was going on. "Then why call us over here? What happened last night that caused this?"

Sam sat there looking at him. "You don't understand, do you?"

I just shook my head for him. "No Sam, he doesn't understand. That is why when something happened, I went to Embry instead of going to Jared. He tends to not understand counsellor stuff, so why don't you tell us why you wanted to speak with the two of us."

"What did you do last night after you left the station?"

"We drove to the diner. Jake and I went in to get some food for lunch for the 4 of us and then dinner for our date. Embry and Jordan joined us after 5 minutes or so when they were done having their chat. After that Jordan and I hung out at the beach for a while eating our lunch together than we met up with Jared and Kim here. I had called Jared when we were leaving the beach. When we got here, we turned on a movie and watched it while we chatted and snuggled on the couch. Eventually we got hungry again, so we paused the second movie we had on and came into the kitchen and ate then went back to the movie. When it was done Jared and Kim went home; Jordan and I put on another movie. She fell asleep part way through it, and I woke her enough to get her to her bedroom."

Sam nodded. "How did she get into her pyjamas?"

I shrugged. "Honestly, I'm not sure. When she woke me and used her phone to tell me she had a nightmare and wanted me to come into her room; she had them on."

Rav looked at Sam. "I can talk to Valerie see if she can talk to Jordan about the nightmare. She is home tonight she doesn't leave for her conference until tomorrow morning."

I growled; I couldn't help it. "You promised she could come to the bonfire tonight if she opened up to Emily and Sue today. You can't revoke that now."

Sam shrugged. "I have my honest doubts that today is going to end with us not getting a call from Sam saying that she pulled her silent card again." He held up his hand. "She might talk but when it comes to her past, I can very much see her remaining quiet or just simply deflecting the questions."

I was slightly trembling when I stood. "Is there anything else?"

Rav shook his head. "That was everything. The fever combined with the nightmare we just thought we might want to warn you about her probably missing the bonfire."

Jared and I walked out of the yard. I glanced at my phone, 10:45 am. "You text Kim and have her meet you. I'm going to go see Jordan and get my breakfast and eat it down at the beach and then get on patrol. I hope that the outcome they suspect won't happen."

Jordan's POV

I glanced around everyone was done eating; Leah and I were working on dishes and just chatting about different things. "How was last night?" she asked

I shrugged. "The date was okay; well, it was fun. We watched 2 movies with Jared and Kim and then Paul stuck on another one which I happen to fall sleep during."

Emily came into the kitchen with Jake. "Sam is about to start trying to call the wolves, it should be funny to watch." He took a seat at the window.

Leah turned to me again. "Was there something about you night that wasn't fun?"

I shrugged. "I had a bit of a nightmare. Well, I think I did. I couldn't remember anything about the dream other than I woke up, panting and scared out of my mind. It was really weird; I mean normally when I have a nightmare, I can remember it completely."

Emily started pulling things out of the cupboards when she asked. "What did you do?"

I shrugged. "The only thing I could think of. I went to the living room where Paul was sleeping, I woke him up and used my phone to tell him that I had a nightmare and asked him if he would come stay in my room for a while with me."

Leah giggled. "So, you two slept together?"

I shoved her playfully and then hit her with the towel I was using to dry the dishes she was washing while the other two in the room looked on. Jake was watching out the window smirking over at me while Emily just smiled. "No, we did not sleep together. He stayed on my floor and then when my dad got home this morning, he found him on the floor there, but he seemed to have stopped the nightmare from coming back."

When we finished the dishes, I turned to Emily with a smile putting the final plate away in the cupboard where they went. "What am I doing today?"

Emily smiled handing me a list. "You get to have the most fun out of all of us. You get to make the burgers and sausages for the bonfire. I have a list there of everything you will need, you get to go on a scavenger hunt throughout the kitchen to find the spices and such that you need to help you make both of the items. Leah and I get to cut everything and make the french-fries and salads for tonight."

I took the list from her and started to wonder around the kitchen looking in different cupboards to find the spices that were on the list she had ready for me. I figured the first thing to tackle was the burgers as they seemed to be the biggest amounts. But I did grab a small bowl to get the spices for the sausages which I would just mix in when I was done.

When I was partially done grabbing everything, I hugged Emily. "Thanks for this." When I had everything, I needed I started grabbing the different packages of meat, opening them, and putting them into a large bowl. "When I was 4 my father used to come into my room at night and play what he called a game with me. He would shove things down my throat and then pull them out when I was almost turning blue cause I couldn't breathe. He would time me to see how long I lasted and if I didn't last longer than I had the earlier times he would use a ruler to hit the inside of my legs once for each second, I was short." I took a breath walking away from the bowl to discard the garbage and glance outside to see one of the wolves there. I turned to Jake. "Where is the other one?"

He smirked. "Sam has gone to get it. They are playing with him. He gets one and brings it to the yard then the other one takes off on him. It is rather amusing to watch, thanks for letting me stay and watch this." He pointed to a box beside the door. "You can take that one a treat if you want to."

I nodded grabbing the small piece of meat from the box taking it outside walking over to the giant wolf that had been in my back yard the other night. "You know you caused me a few problems when you ran off the other night. You shouldn't have done that to me it wasn't an easy day the next day. And to add to that you scared Paul too because of what I did when you ran out of my yard."

He nudged my hand and then looked towards the woods and gave me a funny look before he took off the other direction into the woods on the other side of the back yard. I turned to see where he had glanced and seen Sam walking over with the over wolf. This caused me to giggle as it would seem that the wolves really were playing a game with Sam. I looked at the one Sam had walking beside him. This one was different then the one that was previously here it was the one I had seen the day I had skipped the appointment and ended up at the beach.

"This one is adorable." I wrapped my arms around its neck. "But if you both stop playing with Sam I will bring out one burger for each of you once I have them all made."

It lay down giving me it's belly to rub while Sam smiled at me. "Thanks for that, this is my 4th time trying to get them both in the yard."

I nodded heading back into the house. Jake frowned at me. "If you are going to help Sam out then there goes my fun."

I just shook my head, "You can still watch I don't know if they are actually going to listen to me. Besides, I doubt they even understand what I actually said them."

I went back to the burgers, continuing my story. "This went on for a few years, eventually there had been irreversible damage to my vocal cords. So, they, and I mean my so-called parents, took me to his twin brother who was apparently a doctor of sorts he would give me this shot and it would heal them slightly enough that I could talk for about 2 weeks before I would need another dose of it."

Sue walked into the kitchen, glancing at Jake. "It's time for you to leave, Jake."

I put my hand up when he went to stand. "He can stay if he wishes to." When he continued to get up and make his way for the back door. "I want you to stay Jake." I tried; I wasn't sure why I wanted him to stay here but something inside me wanted it.

He took a seat back on the chair where he was sitting glancing outside at the wolves who were currently playing catch the other's tail.

"After a few more times after one of the doses of stuff I got brave and attempted to run away from home one evening after dinner. I had been looking online and found out that I had been adopted by these 2 and my birth mother was somewhere along the west coast. No clue where she was though, I did find some records that had been sealed and I worked on them for days when I was 9 trying to break in to see what they said. I didn't have any luck though. Sam even tried to find out the true identity of my birth parents, but he was unable to do that."

I walked over to the box of meat, grabbing 2 pieces, and heading outside. Jake followed me out. "If you are feeding both of them, you need to give it to the silver one first or they will fight."

I nodded, placing the meat in front of the silver one first petting it 3 times then giving it to the other one and petting him. I sat there on the steps of the back porch watching the wolves for a few minutes before getting up again.

When we got back inside, I washed my hand and returned to the meat that was currently sitting in the bowl I added the other ingredients and continued chatting about random things before Jake asked a question.

"What happened when you ran away?"

I shrugged, one of the big problems with nightmares is they happen to cause flashbacks the next day. It makes doing this really difficult, I have to be very careful not to be sucked into one. I took a breath concentrating on the meat and mixing everything in evenly.

"Most of the time when I tried, I didn't get too far." I could feel Sue glaring at me as if the shrug was something she wanted to take differently. "The farthest I ever got once was the police station which happened to be the last time I ran."

Leah was beside me working on another part of dinner. It looked like pasta salad. "How big am I making these burgers for tonight?"

Emily used her hands to show me how big round and how thick to make them. Smiling at me when I held one up the exact size.

Sue coughed grabbing my attention. It was at this point I realized that she wasn't helping out at all with dinner for tonight. "Jake asked you a question."

I nodded focusing my attention back on the meat. "I'm getting there, this isn't easy to talk about."

Sue got up walking over to me. "That is why I suggest Jake leaving. It would be easier for you if he left, and it was just us girls here."

Emily shook her head. "I promised Jordan anyone she wanted here would be here. Hence why we have 2 wolves playfighting in the backyard right now. If she wants Jake to stay, then he stays."

Sue growled, "I need a word with you Emily in the living room."

Emily nodded placing a hand on my shoulder as she left.

My eyes met Leah's. "What is your mother going to do?"

Leah gulped before turning to Jake who had vanished. He would have had to pass me to get to the living room, so it was obvious he wasn't there. I glanced outside he wasn't there either.

"I think she is pulling rank on Emily. You see Emily isn't part of the council like my mother is so technically if she pulls rank Emily will have to back down and ask Jake to leave."

I wiped my hands off on the edge of the bowl, sinking down against the wall. The nightmare was taking over again only this time I was completely awake. Jake had been keeping it at bay while he was here only now with him gone it was going to take over. I looked up seeing Leah kneeling over me saying something, I could see her lips moving but the sound wasn't penetrating my brain.

"Jake … Leah, he needs to come back."

Leah nodded calling out to someone before a second later Emily was in the kitchen again.

Leah's POV

Jordan was actually sharing bits and pieces of her life before she got to Sam and Jules. Though some parts were not so great this is what Sam had wanted her to be doing. This plan of Emily's was actually working.

I had kept looking over at Jake, he seemed rather uncomfortable having to listen to it but there was a desperation in her voice when she said he could stay, then it got even worse when she said she wanted him to stay here.

Then my mother had done almost the unthinkable. She had practically ordered Jake to leave the house or rather ordered Emily to tell him to leave. I could hear the conversation in the living room but before I could react Jordan sinking to the floor holding her knees caught my attention.

My attention turned to her as I stopped what I was doing. "Jordan" her eyes met mine. I kept saying her name, but she didn't respond to me. Knowing that touching her would be bad from different conversations I had with Paul, I kept my hands to myself and tried to get some kind of response from her.

After a few times though I was rewarded. It came out as a whisper. "Jake … Leah, he needs to come back."

I called out. If I had to get Jake, I didn't want to leave Jordan like this alone. Emily came into the kitchen glancing at me. "I need to go get Jake; I don't know where he took off to, but Jordan needs him here for some odd reason."

Emily winced. "Sue pulled rank on both of us. Sent Jake out to work."

"Shit." I turned to the bowl figuring it would be fine for a few minutes. "I'm going to Sam then." Without waiting for a reply from her I took off out the back door, barely making it to the woods before I was ripping off my clothes and phasing.

Letting out a howl loud enough to get anyone's attention. Paul was first to respond.

"Leah, how are things with Jordan?"

I gulped closing my thoughts, he didn't need to know about this. "Fine I need Sam though, and has Jake phased?"

Embry entered my thoughts next. "Ya came stomping out of the house phased and then took off for the beach after calling Sam to him."

I nodded "Thanks. Look after things there while I'm gone."

Quil growled then. "Why can't we see Jordan?"

"Bathroom maybe, she has been drinking a lot of tea this morning."

With that I ran full out for the beach. When I got there, I could see Sam and Jake talking by the edge closest to me. I phased throwing on a t-shirt and shorts before walking over to them.

"Leah, this is a private conversation." Sam growled out at me.

I shrank back slightly. "Jordan needs Jake back at the house. It isn't good. When you left it is like she wasn't able to focus on her task anymore."

Sam huffed. "She really was starting to open up?"

Both Jake and I nodded. He started running towards the house as a human only glancing back at us once to make sure that we were both following him.

"Where is Jordan?" Sam asked when we got to the property.

"Kitchen, she had sunk to the floor against the wall behind the table."

He nodded walking in the kitchen. Before turning to Jake and telling him to go to Jordan and keep her in his sights at all times for the rest of the day until the start of the bonfire. He nodded going over to her gently calling her name as Sam stomped. Yes, stomped into the living room. That had me giggling man my mother was going to get a stern talking to probably.

Both of us could hear what was being said and basically Sue was being ordered by Sam to shut up and let Emily run this session until the end of it. The session itself was longer than a normal counselling one and therefore Jordan might need a few more breaks and to follow Emily's lead for today. Sam had okayed anyone that Jordan wanted being her to be here and if she wanted Jake though it was a last-minute decision then she would be allowed to have Jake there for the entire day. His work could wait, and that each member of the pack was making sacrifices to make today work for Jordan and from what he had heard it was working out very nicely. She did comment that Jake wasn't helping anything right now and in fact Jordan was having trouble talking just with Jake being in the kitchen when she was trying to talk. That almost made me growl, Jordan started talking before my mother even got here.

Jake was smirking too. But he had Jordan back up on her feet and working on the burgers again. When Sam was done yelling at my mother he came back into the kitchen. "Jordan, can I have a word with you please, just outside?"

She nodded, wiping her hands off on the side of the bowl again.

Jordan's POV

"What's up?"

He turned to me looking at wolves who were currently attempting to clean each other but each one not wanting to be cleaned. "Does it help having Jake here?"

I nodded. "I can't explain it. I had a nightmare last night and usually that would mean that doing this today would be almost impossible. But I am trying, and some stuff is coming out which I am hoping you consider to be a good thing well good enough that I can make it to the bonfire tonight?"

He nodded. "Try to continue, if I went to your father to confirm that a nightmare would cause this reaction he would agree?"

I nodded. "He probably wanted to try and pull today; he was acting all weird this morning even asked to talk to Paul and Jared alone after we left."

He nodded. "Get back in there, those burgers and sausages have to be ready for 3:30 for us to start cooking them. Paul will be by around 3:15."

I smiled going over rubbing my face in the fur of the grey and brown one. "Let your brother clean you, you got all dirty playing in the mud." I giggled walking inside to continue working on things.

"Okay where was I?" I looked at Jake for a second before turning my attention back to the burgers.

Jake smirked. "With the burgers, the wolves, or your story?"

I laughed for a second. "The story," I rolled my eyes.

"You were talking about the final time you ran away; you had made it to the police station." He glanced outside and almost fell off the chair he started laughing so hard.

I could see the wolves chasing leaves around the yard obviously they had given up cleaning each other for the time being. I took a few slow breaths and continued the story. "So that time, my throat was super sore cause my dad had done it to me early in the evening but then had gotten into the alcohol which he sometimes did.

"When I had made it to the police station, he hadn't caught up to me yet. I used my phone to tell the lady working at the front desk that I was 10 and I had been abused by my father. The lady was new in town and went to get a cop for me who happened to be an SRU officer. I had to write everything down for them because I couldn't talk. I mean I tried to, but nothing came out.

"It took some time but eventually my father had tracked my phone to my location and came to get me from the station. Luckily for me he was still drunk, and the cops wouldn't let him take me home. Now this I don't know because I wasn't there. But apparently through the night he ended up chatting with one of his cell mates about getting the absolute best blow job from his daughter. Luckily, the cell mate happened to be a cop they had sitting in there for the night to see if anyone decided to start chatting in the cells about certain things they had accomplished."

Leah bumped my arm when I finished the last burger. "So how did you go from there to end up with Sam and Jules?"

I giggled. "That is a bit of a funny story. You see the SRU officer that I spoke to was Spike and he was still living with his parents so he couldn't take me in. So, he turned to his team and Sam having met me during the night and I had called him a certain name he decided that some old-fashioned military discipline was all I needed so he and Jules went through official channels to adopt me."

Jake laughed. "Old fashioned military discipline … huh. I don't think it has been able to do much for you seeing how you didn't listen to Sam the first order he ever gave you."

I glared throwing my towel at him. "Well, I have since then. Well, I am trying today."

Emily came up giving me a hug. "And you are doing a wonderful job at it."

I nodded grabbing 2 pieces of meat out of the bowl that wouldn't have made a full burger and 2 out of the box heading outside whistling with my tongue and teeth. Both of the wolves came runny towards me. I placed the 2 pieces down for the silver one before placing the 2 down for the other one. Pulling out my phone snapping a few more pictures of the two of them.

I walked back in turning to Jake, "Please tell me you got some pictures of them?"

He nodded and smiled. "Been snapping pictures of them all day for you. Now I would get to work on those sausages."

I nodded going over to the bowl and began mixing the ingredients together. Before turning to Emily with a smile. "Am I putting these into a casing or something?"

Emily glanced around. "Leah did we forget to pick that up yesterday?"

Leah nodded and laughed. "Yes Emily, I reminded you about it a few times, but you kept telling me that you get it from that store, and we didn't go there."

Emily groaned. "Guess the guys aren't getting any sausages this time then."

Jake shook his head. "No, we need sausages."

I giggled. "Emily, do you have any skewers?"

Emily nodded pointing to the drawer where there were a bag of them. "I have an idea." I grabbed the bag taking it over to the bowl.

Jake looked at me. "How can you make sausages with those?"

I giggled. "I am going to add another egg and that should make it sticky enough. Then I am going to take the meat and wrap it around the skewer almost like a kabob. It won't be exactly like a sausage but it the closest thing we have if Emily doesn't have the casing for the sausages."

Jake watched in awe as I started making the skewers putting them onto a plate in layers with wax paper in between them. "See just like this. Then when people want to eat them on buns all they will have to do is pull the stick out. And after they are cooked it should come out fairly easily."

When they were all done, I turned to Emily again. "All done here. Now I'm going to sit here and watch the wolves and keep talking if that is alright."

Emily nodded.

I sat down watching the wolves play in the yard. "After I moved in with Sam and Jules things were different. Sam had forced me to go to a counsellor a few times and when the court got word of this, they made it part of my treatment following what I had been through. Though they tried a bunch of different counsellors within the GTA which were around only a few of them were capable of handling the issues which I had been through.

"Eventually, through work connections Sam found one that I was willing to talk to and the two of us worked out well together. Though their area of service was so small that when we moved the time before this it involved me having to switch counsellors."

I took a breath seeing Paul come out of the woods heading this way. "That is partially why this is so hard for me to deal with. Each time we move, and I get a new counsellor I am forced to go all the way back to the beginning with them. Though it is all written down in the notes each and every bloody one insists on me starting from the beginning with them. Not understanding what it does to me each and every time trying to discuss this. Then there is the constant words like they understand what I'm going through, or they think they know how to make it easier for me to talk. But in all reality, they don't understand and for the most part I truly hope they never will understand what it is like for me to deal with."

Jake held out his hand telling Paul to stop as he went to come in the door.

I just shook my head. "Unless you have a question about what I have said I'm done and kinda want to go home and get ready for this bonfire that we are having tonight, that is if I am allowed to go?"

Emily nodded but Sue shook her head. My eyes met Jake's.

Jake glanced at both Sue and Emily. "I need a word with Sam but provided everything panned out with your father than I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to go to the bonfire tonight. You did as was asked of you and did share that part of your life with us which is what we had asked." He took a deep breath looking at Sue. "You can go, I think my father and Old Quil can lead the story telling tonight without your help."

Sam Ulley's POV

rewind

After leaving my house I walked towards Jordan's. Forgetting even to call to make sure that is where her father was at the moment, I heard voices coming from the back yard, so I skipped the front door and went around back knocking on the gate in the fence.

"Sam, you are expecting anyone else?" Someone yelled from the other side.

A muffled no came the reply but still someone was moving towards the gate.

"Who is it?" This was someone new.

"Sam Ulley, I need a word with Sam it is concerning Jordan." I replied.

The gate opened and I was met with the bald guy we had met the other day. "Everything okay with Jordan?" There was real worry in his voice when he asked.

I nodded then shrugged. "Yes and no." He was still blocking my path into the yard. "Can I come in as I said I need a word with Sam."

He moved aside letting me into the backyard.

"Don't mind this we are just practicing. But have a seat Sam will be back out in a minute."

Rav walked out and paled. "Great, Ed, I don't think we are going to be practicing with Sam here I think I'm going to be heading home and getting the spare room set up for Jordan for the night."

I shook my head. "I just need something confirmed. Jordan surprisingly is opening up. I spoke with both Jake and Leah and Emily confirmed it that she was starting to open up then we ran into a snag which I just had to deal with."

Rav sat down on the chair next to me as did Ed.

Sam came out the back door. "Personal visit what has Jordan done now?"

I shook my head. "Nothing bad." I cleared my throat. "Would her having a nightmare last night affect her ability to open up about the story of her past?"

They all nodded. Ed was the one who spoke though. "That was the one saving grace we would grant her to not be able to talk about her situation at counselling if she had a nightmare the night previous to it then talking about her situation could pull her back into the nightmare and actually start a night terror happening."

I paled. "It seems that Jake was keeping everything calm and then Sue ordered Jake to leave pretty much, and he came to me and informed me that Jordan had in fact started to open up about her past even before Sue had arrived at the house this morning. When I found out I went to the house and told Jake that until Jordan wanted him to leave, he was to stay with her and keep her within his sights. I then explained to Sue that Emily was running this session due to the length of it, and she would be the one who made the decisions."

Sam glanced at me for a second. "She had a nightmare last night and Paul was able to stop it from coming back just by being in the room." He thought for a second. "I don't know how this would work or even if it is possible but if she feels more comfortable opening up with Jake there is it possible that for at least the first few sessions she has him there. Just until she gets comfortable with Sue?"

I thought for a second. "I would have to run it by the other members of council and by Jake to make sure he is okay with doing that. But if there isn't an issue, I can make that happen. Also, as she is opening up about her past, I am going to make it insistent that her sessions occur in some other location besides that room. I am pretty sure that if she has opened up enough for the reaction I got from Jake that she is doing much better at it than any one of us could have imagined."

Sam nodded and smiled. "Well, that is a relief. I had spoken with Jared and Paul this morning and explained that with the nightmare the chances that Jordan would end up opening up at all was slim. I know she does have her Get Out of Jail pass, but I think she wants to save that for a bit."

I stood making my way to the gate. "If she comes back here to get changed for the bonfire and it is before I catch up with Paul or Jake, please inform Jordan that she is allowed to come to the bonfire and nice work today."

Sam, Rav, and Ed all smiled. "Well, that is good." Rav stated as I left.
