Hi everyone,
This chapter is going to be a bit different. It is the week as if Jordan is writing it after the week is over on Friday during school.
Jordan's POV
My week has had so many ups and downs. I got grounded, had my dad apologize for grounding me. I did have some high points. But I am getting ahead of myself. Let's go back to Monday.
Dear Diary,
It is Monday night. My father came to pick me up from Sam's place about a half hour ago. He seemed completely pissed off about something. He just showed up, I was working on schoolwork with Quil before dragging me out of house telling Sam that I was being grounded for 3 days.
Sitting in my room waiting for dinner I tried to wrack my brain around what I could have done wrong to get myself grounded for 3 days. The length of time virtually told me nothing about what I had managed to do. Normally I would have had some idea as to what I could have done to get grounded.
About an hour later Sam called me for dinner. I thankfully had managed to get most of my homework done in the hour I had spent at Sam's and then the hour I had spent in my room here. So, when I was done my homework, I did plan to go to my dad and find out what I had done to get grounded.
Unfortunately, that evening my father went out almost immediately after dinner making it harder to ask him what I had done to get grounded. When I had gotten out to the living room, I seen Rav sitting on the couch just watching tv.
"Your dad went out for the evening Jordan. You can go back to your room." That was all he had said to me each time I went out to try to ask him.
At about 8pm Paul had texted me asking what was happening. I told him I didn't know I hadn't done anything wrong, but I would question Rav or Wordy who ever was here in the morning after I had my meds.
I went to sleep more annoyed than anything else.
End of Monday
Tuesday,
I woke up more determined than ever wanting to know what I had done to get myself grounded. After getting dressed I headed for the kitchen to find Wordy sitting there at the counter. I walked up waving at him grabbing the bottle for him to get me my meds.
After getting them for me he smiled. "You heading over to Emily's this morning?"
I shrugged. "I didn't know if I was allowed to. I mean Sam said something last night about me being grounded for 3 days. Speaking of Sam though is he home?"
Wordy shook his head. "He was then he went in for an early shift. Called me and asked if I would come over and give you your meds." He laughed for a second. "What did you do this time to get grounded?"
I shrugged. "Honestly, I haven't the foggiest idea. My appointment with Sue isn't until Wednesday. I have done all my homework. I mean those would be the two biggest things, but I can't think of anything that might be causing this kind of a problem."
Wordy nodded. "Hmm. Well, I could ask him for you when I see him at the station. Or you could just wait until tonight at dinner?"
I nodded grabbing breakfast. "I will wait until tonight if he decides to stay long enough for me to ask. I do think that either way he might have mentioned something to Sam Ulley about it so I could always get one of the guys to ask him."
Wordy nodded. "Have a good day at school." He stood for a second. "Can I trust that you will behave yourself if I go check on my girls."
I nodded stuffing the rest of breakfast in my mouth. "I would love to come see them. How about I walk there with you then head off to school from there. Besides if we do it that way, I should be just on time for class anyway."
I went over and seen all three of Wordy's girls before excusing myself and going off to school. The walk was nice and actually rather peaceful.
After school it was pouring rain so Jake offered to drive me home in hopes that if my dad was there, he wouldn't be upset. He did also promise to ask Sam if he knew what this was about and let me know whatever he was able to find out.
When we got to the house Rav was there but sadly my father wasn't. I grumbled walking in the door glancing over at the kitchen.
"Who drove you home?" He asked, pointing to the car pulling out of the laneway.
"Jake. He said it would be a better choice that way he hoped that my dad would be okay cause he wasn't Paul. But Paul wouldn't be too mad cause at least I wasn't walking home in the rain without a coat on." I put my bag on the chair opening it up and pulled out my books. I had plans to sit at the table in the living room and wait for my father to come home and seeing how tv was off limits when I was grounded that meant that Rav would have to suffer with me.
"Jordan, no there is a game on tonight. Do that in your room."
I just shook my head. "I have no clue why I have been grounded, Rav." I grabbed a pen and began to work on the assignment for History.
He stood there stunned for a few seconds. "You haven't done anything?"
I shook my head back at him again. "Not that I know of. I mean normally when I get grounded, I at least know what I have done. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Sam long enough to ask him what I have done to get myself in this predicament. So, I have decided to sit here and do my homework then go to my room once it is done after we have eaten."
Rav decided to make another one of my favourite meals. I think he wanted me to head to my room faster so he could watch his game.
At 8 pm again I got a text from Jake this time explaining that Sam was going to contact my father tomorrow or Thursday to find out the reasoning for this grounded.
I texted him back saying that by Thursday it would be over, and I was super glad cause Paul and I had plans for a date on Friday night. He was taking me somewhere special he had said but he wasn't going to tell me where it was or what was going on. But he did promise it would be a night that I would never forget.
End of Tuesday
Wednesday
I woke up to my alarm going off. I groaned. I missed Paul the two of us hadn't spent much time together in this week. He had been at work on Monday when I got off school, but Quil and Jake had promised that he would be around for dinner which is why I was trying to get my homework done before he got to the house. I did actually manage to get most of it done but then my father had shown up and well you know how that went.
It was lunch time on Wednesday though and I was sitting there enjoying my lunch when Jake came up explaining that if I wanted him to leave and go exchange places with Paul then I would need to do him a favour and just try to be good and not get grounded again. He apparently couldn't handle Paul mopping anymore. I had laughed and told him to go ahead.
Though just after Jake left my phone went off. I had made the mistake of setting my alarm to go off only 2 minutes before my appointment instead of 20.
Embry followed me to my locker as I frantically starting to grab things, I would need but when he started pulling for my phone I was confused.
"Jordan, just hand it over. I am going to help you with something, so you don't get into shit just let me see your phone, and then meet me outside."
I nodded to him grabbing my phone from my pocket before watching him unlock his phone and start walking outside. I glanced down and seen that I had everything before racing out the door. I got to the edge of the school lot where Embry was standing. Watching him push the green call button on my phone and handing it me. Sue's voice met me on the other line.
'Who is this?' She asked politely.
I mouthed the word "Thanks" to Embry before starting to speed walk down the road. "Sue, it is me, Jordan. I kind of messed up big time. I am on my way though. I accidently set the reminder on my phone to go off 2 minutes before the appointment instead of 20. Though I should be there in under 15."
She lightly laughed on the other end. 'Who gave you, my number?'
"Embry kind of typed it into my phone. I don't know if he saved it in there or not. He was with me when my alarm went off. "
'You will have to thank him later. But we can discuss that more when you get here. See you in a few darling.'
I nodded and sped up walking to the point that I was almost running. I made it there in 10 minutes. I smiled as I knocked on the door. "Only 8 minutes late."
Sue nodded looking at me. "Where is Jake?"
I shrugged. "He went to go to work. Something about Paul mopping around lately. If he needs to be here, I would suggest calling Sam maybe he could go get him."
Sue nodded pointing to the muffins on the counter. "Grab one of those and meet me at the dining room table." She pulled out her cell phone and started walking towards the front room. When she came into the dining room, she had brought another muffin with her. "It was just an oversite on Sam's part with the schedule. Jake is on his way. But while he is getting here why don't you tell me how school has been going this week."
I shrugged. "School is school. Quil keeps me entertained during math class. Seth is awesome at teaching Quileute, really, he is amazing at helping me. He told me the other day that I was almost at a grade 8 level which is great. Health is boring but alright, we have a test in it next week, so we were having it today and then we have gym the rest of the week." I faked fainting. "Which is awesome cause I don't like having to deal with health. But I guess it is a part of gym, so I have to put up with it."
Sue nodded. "What about the other 3 classes?"
I shrugged. "They are neither here nor there. Honestly, I could live with them or without them. They don't bother me at all." I thought for a second. "Though there is this one girl in our math class that is super annoying. She has been hanging out with Kelly and started laughing really hard with Quil and I got into a bit of trouble in class on Monday."
Jake walked into the room after grabbing a muffin having a seat at the table too.
Sue smiled. "What happened in class on Monday?"
I gulped. "Well, you see. On Thursday, Quil had picked up the pages we were supposed to be doing for homework. Only he accidentally got the piles mixed up and grabbed 2 grade 12 sheets instead of 2 grade 11 sheets. Honest mistake if you ask me. Basically, the teacher made a big deal of it then looked at them after class and realized the mistake. She gave us the 2 new pages and had us do them but gave us an extension until Tuesday to have the work done."
Jake was laughing at this point. "No wonder Quil had trouble with the pages. I am never going to let him live this down."
Sue shushed him with a glance. "What happened after that?"
I smiled. "Honestly, nothing the 2 pages we had done were almost the same as the ones that the teacher had handed to us only the ones, she handed us had more of the problem done and on the second page it was word problems which were pretty easy. There were only 3 questions on the page to begin with." I gulped. "The only other funny thing to happen this week is I somehow got myself grounded for 3 days. No clue how I managed to do that? Though that doesn't have anything to do with school it is just something that is annoying me right now."
Sue nodded glancing at her watch. "Well Jordan, I hate to tell you this, but your time is up." She stood up smiling at me. "Did you want me to contact your father to ask him what is going on?"
Jake shook his head. "Sam is already going to do that. He doesn't like Paul mopping around the house and seeing how his appointment with you isn't until Friday let's just say we don't want anything to happen."
She nodded leading us towards the kitchen. "Jordan, we do have 5 minutes left though. I wanted to explain to you what is going to happen with you being late today." She took a deep breath as if she was waiting for me to be mad about this. "I do have to report it to Sam that you were late. However, part of the report will include the fact that with the help of Embry you did call me and then showed up for your appointment within the first 10 minutes of when it was originally supposed to start."
My jaw hit the floor, before I nodded and looked at Jake. "Will I get in trouble from Sam for this?" I asked him.
Jake shook his head. "Sam will discuss it with Embry but the fact that I had gone to get Paul from work, and he was going to be meeting you at the school. That alone might prove to Sam that you had truthfully forgotten about the exact time of your appointment, and you were just relying on your phone to tell you when to leave. I can't see him getting upset with you for an honest mistake like that. In addition, you do have it on your side that you did call Sue prior to the start of your appointment informing her that you were running a little late."
Sue nodded. "I have to put everything into the report, but this is something that is extremely minor, just make sure your timer is set for the right time next time, okay?"
I nodded smiling. Well, that was a dodged bullet at least I wasn't going to be in big trouble for being a little bit late for this appointment. "Can we do the same time next week?" I asked pulling out my phone setting the advance notice to 20 minutes.
Sue walked over to her tablet and unlocked it before glancing at everything. "I think we can make that work. If anything needs to change you now have my cell number in case, you need it for anything like this again."
I nodded glancing up at Jake as we left. When we got to the parking lot of the school I sagged against Paul's truck. "Well, that is at least one bullet dodged then. I thought I was going to be in so much trouble for being late for that appointment."
Jake nodded. "You called. Plus, Embry said that he saw that your phone was set to be at 2 minutes before the appointment. I can guarantee you that Sam is probably going to laugh about what happened and then just tell you not to let it happen again."
Smiling I continued walking towards the school. "Don't you have to get back to work?" I asked. When he shook his head at me in response, I gave him back a questioning look.
"Seth took the rest of my shift. So, I can stay here with you two love birds." He pointed to Paul walking out of the school looking concerned.
"Everything okay?" I asked walking up hugging him.
He just smiled and nodded at me. "I was worried when I got back to school, and you weren't here. Then Embry told me about the problem about you being late for your appointment. Now you are probably going to be grounded again for that and if you do get grounded, I won't be able to see you for our date which I have been planning for Friday."
I glanced at Jake for a second before he nodded. "Paul, she isn't going to be in trouble. I had even forgotten when her appointment. Sam will be told about it, but it is a black mark that has been erased if you know what I mean. Embry dialed Sue's number into her phone to call Sue to inform her of the mistake. Sam already knew about it when I had gotten the message from him to get over there.
End of Jordan's View for Wednesday (at the moment).
Sam Ulley's POV
I had gotten off the phone with Sue about Jake and called Seth to go get him but to have him call me on his way over to Sue's place.
'I know this is odd but Sam we really need to be getting Jordan to spend some time with Paul. They have barely seen each other this week.'
I nodded though he couldn't see me. "I know. I am going to go over to see her father right now and find out what is going on about this grounding thing."
He sighed in relief. 'Good. I am at Sue's. Anything you want me to do?'
"If Jordan meets up with Paul today reassure both of them that neither one is going to be in trouble for this. From what both Sue and Embry have said Jordan was pretty freaked out by all of this happening and was worried that she would be in more trouble. And I can only assume what Paul is feeling right now."
'Can do. Talk to you later this afternoon.'
I hung up the phone from Jake and called Sam. I needed to get to the bottom of this grounding thing as Paul had been getting edgy not being able to see his imprint for the past few days. When he picked up, he said he was at home and would be for the next while and agreed to speak with me.
I yelled over to Emily that I was heading out and would be back in about an hour or 2 at most. The walk was fairly quick, and I found Sam in his kitchen with Ed.
"Everything okay there Sam?" Ed asked when he seen the look on my face.
I simply just shook my head. "Actually, not really which is why I needed to have this conversation."
Ed nodded, "I can leave then." He knocked on the counter. "We can finish our discussion later on Sam, after Jordan goes to bed for the night."
I held up my hand stopping him. "Jordan is actually who I am here to discuss."
Ed looked concerned returning to his seat. "Everything okay with Jordan. Wordy didn't say anything this morning to us when he got to work."
Sam shook his head. "Rav and everyone else keeps telling me that she apparently doesn't understand why she has been grounded but the reason seems rather simple to me. She will figure it out and then we will discuss it the same as it has always been."
My jaw dropped at that. "I don't understand if she is already asking for you to explain the reason for her grounding isn't it possible that she hasn't actually done anything wrong."
He turned to me. "I have it on good authority that she has done something. If she hasn't figured it out by the time the grounding is over on Thursday, I will explain it to her when she gets home from school on Friday night."
I looked at Ed confused. "I am dealing with Paul here who hasn't been able to see Jordan since the weekend. And if you can remember Sunday didn't exactly allow for much time to be spent just the two of them and neither did Saturday. Saturday seemed to have stressed both of them out and although Jordan may have been able to release some of that pressure, I am having to deal with Paul who really hasn't had a session with Sue in almost 3 weeks now."
Sam nodded to me. "I understand that. But I have a set of rules for Jordan to follow and right now it is Wednesday so I am very much sure that she can survive until tomorrow night with only getting to see Paul during school hours. She had all lunch hour today and yesterday and she will have that tomorrow as well." I went to speak when he held up his hand halting me from saying anything. "I understand the pressure of these two love birds, from what I understand it hasn't been easy being around Jordan either the past few days. Last night she purposefully sat in the living room stopping Rav from watching the Jay's game which was on the tv as it is one of the things that is off limits. Though Jordan still has her cellphone which should give Paul a chance to chat with her and I have only declared that he isn't allowed over."
I sighed. "I do have to say her being allowed to have some of the others over might calm Paul a bit and seeing how it is only for another day I guess we can allow it. Though for future reference I would appreciate it if you would inform me as to what Jordan has done to have gotten this to happen."
Ed glanced at Sam. "It would make it easier for a lot of us if we knew what she had done so even we could hint at it for her."
I nodded. "What would happen if this was all a big misunderstanding here. I know there was a mix up of a few things in Math but from what I was able to find out the problem was resolved before Jordan ended up at my place on Monday night."
Sam's jaw dropped. "I had heard that she hadn't done all of her homework for the weekend from Math class, and she had about 4 days to do it. Greg called me and told me that Kelly had heard about her not completing all of her work."
I nodded to him. "I think you need to have a conversation with Jordan about her math class. As I know Quil's grandfather got a call as well from someone about Quil, however he called me to ask about the situation before doing anything. Quil explained the situation to me about grabbing the wrong pages on Thursday in the morning and then showing them to the teacher that they had done the required number of pages they just had done 2 grade 12 pages instead of 2 grade 11 pages. In my opinion it was a fairly honest mistake that happened to him and the two of them were given an extension until Tuesday to have both pages completed which they did have done."
Ed looked at Sam, placing a hand on his back. "Man, I think you messed up. I also think that you need to chat with Jordan, and maybe Paul as well. Like invite them over for dinner and attempt to explain what has happened." He turned to me. "Can you make sure that Paul drives Jordan home tonight?"
I nodded. "I can do my best. But Jordan is probably going to do her best to follow all the rules as she doesn't want to have this grounding to be extended due to her date on Friday night."
Sam looked up at me finally. "Fine have Jordan land her alone but if you could send Paul over a few minutes after she would be landing here."
I nodded. "That I can do. I will inform him that you wish to have a chat with him." I glanced at the two of them. "But there is a good chance that she might show up here with one of the other guys and it would be the problem of getting them to leave the house. I could call everyone else back to my house, but Paul will get suspicious if I was to do that."
