Xavier entered his childhood home to see his mom, sitting at the counter with a PADD in her hands. There was a cup of coffee next to her. There was classical music playing over the computer. He wondered if it was helping conutrate on what she was doing.

"Xavier," B'Elanna looked up and saw her son standing there in his Starfleet uniform. She thought that he looked handsome in it, but she was his mother, and he didn't want to hear about. "What are you doing here on a Wednesday?"

Xavier was never here during the week. He smiled at his mother before kissing her cheek. "I have some news for you and Dad," Xavier looked around to find his father. "Where is Dad?"

B'Elanna rolled her eyes. "He is probably downstairs working on his latest holodeck program. Why don't you tell me first?"

Xavier shook his head. "I did that, and you held that over Dad's head for a week." Xavier watched his mom shrugged her shoulders. "I'll go and get him," Xavier headed for the basement.

Xavier found his father in his study, mumbling to himself about not working. Xavier knocked on the door. "Dad," He said with a raised voice.

Tom looked up at his son. "Xavier, what are you doing here?" Tom stood and hugged his only son.

"You know Mom asked the same thing," Xavier smiled at his father. "I will tell you in due time. Come upstairs and I will tell you both," Xavier watched his father save his program and shut down his computer.

Tom followed Xavier up to the kitchen. Tom went and kissed his wife before taking a stool next to her. They both looked at their son. "The ship that Peata and I designed is almost finished. As we are part of the design team we will spend a month on the ship to make sure everything is good to go."

B'Elanna jumped up and hugged Xavier. "That is great. Miral is pregnant with twins. Selena got into Starfleet Medical," B'Elanna turned to her husband. "I think we did better than just trying not to get them killed."

"Wait," Xavier touched his mother's arm. "I'll disregard the comment about not getting us killed," Both his parents smiled at. Xavier always wondered how he got these two as parents. "Miral and D'stil are going to have babies," B'Elanna nodded. She couldn't wait to become a grandmother. "Didn't they just get married two months ago."

"Yes, your sister and her husband didn't want to wait to have children," B'Elanna said. Xavier shook his head. B'Elanna hugged her son again. "I'm so happy for you. Stay for dinner," Xavier didn't have to be told twice.

After dinner, Xavier waited for his mom to go to her study to grade some papers for her freshman students before making his way down to the holosuite that his dad had. He told the computer what program he wanted. He knew that it wasn't going to take long before his dad followed him down here. Xavier was racking the balls when his dad entered.

Tom took a stick and waited for Xavier to take his stick. "So, what is on your mind, son?" Tom pulled out a coin and flipped it to see who would go first.

"What makes you say that?" Xavier watched the coin to make sure that his father wasn't cheating. T

"You're first. You can have sent us a message about the ship and I thought that you would be happier about the ship you design going into space for the first time." Tom watched his son break.

He didn't sink any balls, so it was Tom's turn. Xavier sighed. The sigh got Tom to look up for a second. "It's about Peata."

"Your partner?" Tom asked. Xavier nodded. "What about her?" Tom had seen the two of them together and knew the other wanted the other. They would look at the other if the other wasn't watching.

"I want her so bad that it hurts," Xavier sighed.

Tom smiled. "All I can say is patience and cold showers," Xavier raised his eyebrow to his father. "Do you love Peata?"

"Yes. I all I think about is how I love to hear her laugh and that I want to be the one that makes her laugh. I hate when she is sad, I only want to make her happy. I love the way sun hits her black hair," Xavier ran a hand through his hair.

Tom felt for his son. He didn't know what Peata felt or why she was holding back from love. Tom could see the love that Xavier has for this woman. "I know with your mother, she needed space to figure out her own feeling for me," Tom smiled as he remembered just being a friend to B'Elanna. "All you can do is be a friend and if something happens with her than something happens. I have a feeling that when she chooses you it will be wonderful. Just don't push her. Give her the space that she needs."

"That is going to be hard," Xavier frowned.

"That is why I said patience and cold showers," Tom could only smile at his son. Tom patted his son on the back. "It's all you can do."

Xavier nodded. He placed his pool stick back in the holder. "I think I'm going to go. I have some thinking to do."

Tom nodded and watched his son leave. He saw that Xavier didn't see his mom back into Tom's office. Tom waited until he heard the front close before calling out to his wife. "You can come out now," He watched as B'Elanna came in and grab a pool stick. "How much did you hear?" He asked.

B'Elanna smiled. "How many cold showers did you take before we got together?"

"Too many especially after you got pon farr from Vorik," Tom smiled. B'Elanna laughed before hitting the cue ball.

Xavier stood in the space station, looking at the ship that he had design. She was beautiful. He was going to be on it tomorrow and it would be on its first flight.

"She is beautiful," Xavier turned around to the woman of his dreams standing there, She had her black hair in a bun and her Starfleet uniform on.

"Our first baby," Xavier smiled.

She blushed. Xavier wondered if she thought about what their children would look like. "That she is," Peata finally smiled at him. He really wanted to reach out and grab her hand to pull her closer to him.

They stood there looking at their first baby. Xavier remembers when it was still on paper and showing it to Commander Qing. Going through Commanders and Captains, until hit the right Admiral, who wanted to make the ship. Their dream had become a reality. He felt that he knew every screw and bolt.

"Do you think they will make us Lieutenants after this?" Peata asked.

"I hope so," Xavier mumbled.

Xavier stood at window in the mess hall watching the ship leave the docking bay. He knew that he could have watched this from the bridge, but he wanted the quiet of the mess hall. He felt the ship move beneath his feet and it made him smile. He never thought that this would happen.

"Hey, I thought that you would be on the bridge," Peata came and stood next to him.

"No, I wanted to feel the ship and I knew this was only way," Xavier smiled at her.

"You could have done so in your quarters," Peata said.

"True, but it wouldn't be the same," Xavier saw that ship went into wrap.

"So, what is next on the list?" Peata asked.

Xavier took her hand and pulled her closer to the window. "To enjoy this moment," He said.

Neither one was looking at the window, but at each other. Xavier looked into her green eyes to see a light. He placed the hand that wasn't holding her hand on her face. He thought that she might pull away, but she didn't. Xavier leaned closer and pressed his lips against hers. She took a moment before she started to kiss him.

They heard coughing from behind them and they broke the kiss to see Lieutenant Landon. The woman was smiling. "The captain and the admiral would like to see the two ensigns who design this ship."

"Yes, sir," Peata ran her tongue along her lips. Xavier wanted to reach out for her, but their boss was standing there.

They followed their Lieutenant to the conference room. After they received praise for their success, and they would be promoted to Lieutenants junior class. Peata stopped around the corner of the conference room. She leaned over and kissed Xavier. There was a sparkle in her eyes as she broke the kiss.

"I was wondering how long it would take you to kiss me," She smiled.

"You could have done something too," Xavier said.

Peata shrugged her shoulders. "I know, but I wanted you to make the first move," She turned away from him. She was few feet away before she realized that Xavier wasn't following her. She turned towards him. "Are you coming? I think we have celebrating to do."

Xavier ran to her and grabbed her hand. Peata led him to her quarters.
