B'Elanna took a breath as she sunk deeper into the tub. This was one thing she loved about this place, was the tub in the master bathroom. She closed her eyes and could only hear the quiet house. Tom had taken the kids to his parents for the weekend. B'Elanna loved her kids, but some days she needed a moment to herself. This weekend was B'Elanna and Tom's tenth anniversary and Tom had something planned. B'Elanna could care less if they got some time together. He told her to take a bath when she got home from the academy. She didn't have to be told twice. Tom had the kids already for their grandparents. She hugged, kissed, and told them to behave for their grandparents.
"Are we enjoying our bath?" Tom whispered in her ear from behind her. Tom started to massage her shoulders.
B'Elanna leaned back and moaned. "Yes." She closed her eyes and let Tom's hands do what they do best.
"Well Mrs. Paris, what do you say to a weekend in Paris, France?" Tom kissed the back of her neck.
"I love it," B'Elanna said. "When are we going?"
"Tonight. I have reservation at Monsieur René's," Tom said.
B'Elanna turned in the tub and looked at her husband. "Really," Tom nodded. She wrapped her wet arms around him. "I love you," She kissed him.
Tom broke the kiss. "We'll finish this later," He stood. "Finish your bath," Tom headed for the door. B'Elanna didn't have to be told twice.
They appeared in front of the restaurant; Tom smiled before leading B'Elanna in. Tom gave his name. They were led to their table. B'Elanna was glad to be restaurant that didn't have kids' menus. She looked down to see what they had as Tom order them some wine. The waiter came back with their wine and asked if they were ready to order. Tom and B'Elanna gave their order. When the menus were gone, Tom reached for her hand. He looked down at her wedding ring. It was the same one that they replicated ten years ago when they got married.
Tom looked up. "I can't believe we made it ten years and three kids," The sparkle in his eyes was the same one from ten years ago when they decided to get married.
"Me either," B'Elanna smiled. She also didn't think that they would be on Earth ten years ago. She thought that they might still be on Voyager trying to get home. She didn't think that they would have three kids either. "I don't know how you put up with me."
"I don't know how you put up with me," Tom smiled. B'Elanna shook her head.
Their food arrived, but Tom didn't let go of her hand. It felt like they were on their first date. "Would you have taken me here on our first date?" She asked. "In another time."
"No," Tom smiled. "I would have taken you to a seaside village to walk around the town square just so I could hold your hand and hope for a kiss at the end of the night."
B'Elanna couldn't keep the smile from her face. "You probably would have gotten that kiss."
"I would have brought you here to propose to you and hoped that you said yes." Tom lifted her hand to his lips and placed a kiss on it. The look in his eyes reminded B'Elanna what a charmer he was. Their son had the same look, and he was only six.
"Not the way you did in the Delta Flyer," B'Elanna smiled.
"It did take you some time to answer me," Tom smiled in returned.
"We were going to die," B'Elanna rolled her eyes at him.
"I would have died a happy man knowing that the woman I loved would have said yes," Tom placed a hand on chest like he died and gone to heaven.
"I still wonder why I said yes in the first place," B'Elanna said laughing.
"You love me," Tom looked around the room to see if anyone was watching them. "And I'm the only one who can make you…"
"Tom," B'Elanna hissed at her husband.
Tom smiled. "We do have three kids."
"That has nothing to do with it," B'Elanna shook her head.
"I think it does," Tom only kissed her hand. "I can show you tonight." B'Elanna blushed. She didn't think that he could still make her blush after all these years together.
They finished their meal; Tom placed her arm in his arm. "There is one more place we have to go before we go to our hotel room," Tom pulled her to the right.
"Where are we going?" B'Elanna asked.
"You'll see," Tom didn't say anymore.
The place was a little out of the way when they walked in couples were dancing on the dance floor. There was soft music playing. Tom held out his hand. "May I have this dance, Mrs. Paris?" He asked.
B'Elanna placed her hand on his hand. "You may, Mr. Torres," Tom smiled. This was the only time that Tom called her Mrs. Paris, or she would call him Mr. Torres.
Tom led her to the dance floor. This is one thing a lot of people didn't know about B'Elanna, but she liked to dance. When Tom found out the next day, he made a holodeck program where they could dance. Sometimes there was other people, or it would just be them. When it was just them, B'Elanna liked it best.
B'Elanna placed her head on his shoulder as Tom held her close. She could hear his heartbeat and knew that his heartbeat for her and their children. They danced until B'Elanna had taken off her shoes. Tom took her hand led her outside. They walked the streets of Paris until they came to their hotel.
Tom walked past the check-in desk and headed for the lifts. Tom must have check-in already, B'Elanna thought as he told the lifts to take them to their floor. The lifts doors opened, and Tom led her down the hall to a set of doors. He put in a code and the doors opened to the honeymoon suite.
"Tom…" B'Elanna had no words. There were rose petals all over the floor. There was a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice. The big window looked out to the Paris skyline. It was breathtaking. B'Elanna threw her shoes in a corner as she walked in the room.
Tom opened the bottle of champagne and poured them both a glass. He handed her a glass as she stood in front of the window. B'Elanna took a sip. Tom wrapped his arms around her. She leaned into him. "Mmm, when was the last time we got to do this?" B'Elanna asked.
Tom kissed the side of her head. "Before the kids took over our lives," B'Elanna laughed.
"We should do more of this," B'Elanna turned around in his arms. "I need to remember that we are lovers too," B'Elanna put her glass down and wrapped her arms around him. Tom set his glass down. "Make love to me and not some quicky where we have to worry about the kids."
"I am yours to command," Tom leaned down and kissed her.
The next day they went home, picked up the children from their grandparents, and tried to get back to their lives. All Tom and B'Elanna could do was trade glances thinking about the night that they were two lovers again, not parents or worrying about their jobs. They remembered why they fell in love again.
