There were some past reviewers of my last story who wanted to see this story continue with the layout of Combat Racing and/or the Lost Frontier. I do plan to adapt elements from both of those games to help move my story forward. For starters, bringing the Transformers into this universe fulfills the whole vehicle concept that Combat Racing revolved around, and I've imagined for years bringing in the race of sentient vehicles known to us as Transformers into a different human world then what has originally been done to make a more interesting story fitting my original crossover tale of Jak and Spyro.
Enough with the chatter though, Here's chapter 2!
Plus, here is a key for the Cybertronian units to be used in this story...

Ch2: Sinister Confrontations
Setting: Dragon Realms White Isle
Far near the edge of the planet where a mysterious island whose location very few knew about, a certain white dragon was busy at work. Since the beginning of a new age in the Realms, the new Chronicler Ignitus had been busy keeping track of all the records of recent events that were coming through. He really wasn't surprised with how much was happening right now, from the end of the Great War that ended the last age, to the discovery of Elorin, and the formation of the Union Alliance between their worlds, he was sure not even his predecessor had to deal with so much all at once in his own lifetime! Regardless, Ignitus was more than honored, and even excited to bear witness to the chronicles of this new age, especially the ones involving a certain former pupil of his.
Speaking of which, as Ignitus saw the various books floating in front of him filling up with the unfolding sagas of the present day and ahead, he decided to sneak a glance at Spyro's purple book, summoning it over from the shelf to see how his growing protege and his loved ones were doing. It opened up to the most recent page, and the current picture warmed his heart. It was showing a family reunion that was either happening right now, or about to happen. Even though he had never met them, Ignitus was forever grateful to the dragonfly couple that took in Spyro and even named him, raising him as one of their own alongside their son Sparx. The scene showed the two brothers reunited with their parents, along with a certain black dragoness who looked like she couldn't be happier. Cynder's life had really turned around since the day she joined Spyro, Ignitus had seen it in both of their books, and had no doubt he would be seeing more of them together in the coming future, though what else could be expected from two dragons in love?
Ignitus's thoughts were interrupted as he suddenly saw Spyro's book open up to a new blank page, with new images starting to form on it along with the written content explaining it. Though from the images alone, Ignitus was more than surprised…
"By the ancestors…" he was speechless as the picture continued to make itself clear. Once the illustration was finally completed along with its written content, the Chronicler came to an immediate decision…
"...I must inform Spyro, and all the others of this at once!"
If the sight of ending up on another Dark Ship that made its predecessor look like a sardine can didn't shock Malefor, surely the sight of Errol coming back to life in front of his eyes did. His new body was certainly more imposing than the last. It was like he had been reborn in a Dark Maker body, for it made up his entire form, save for his head which was still shaped in the manner of his old human one including the long ears and his original face, but it was now a pale purple with solid black opaque eyes and the same sick smile. He took his first walk forward in his new body, approaching his old dragon partner in a lanky fashion that mimicked the Dark Makers. Malefor's size still eclipsed Errol's new resurrected form, though the latter certainly wasn't deterred by that.
"So my friend, what do you think?" Errol spoke in an eerie tone enveloping his original voice while gesturing to himself.
Malefor was silent for a moment before sneering as he collected himself, "I think you humans need better means of reviving yourselves. You look even more deformed than before."
Errol scoffed at the ridicule, "Hmph, everyone's a critic."
"I'm just saying, at least when I was revived, it was with my whole body intact," Malefor informed him while reminiscing about the Night of Eternal Darkness in the Dragon Realms.
"Well it may surprise you Malefor, but not all of us are purple dragons masters of the elements!" He retorted in frustration, which Malefor only scoffed at. The former human then recollected himself speaking more calmly, "besides, returning to my former self would be a major step backward, for with this new body, I am beyond human now, and more attune with my new subordinates."
He raised his left hand, or claw to extend toward the Dark Makers on his left who appeared to be cheering in their own morbid way of raising their own claws, clicking noises and shaking quills. Malefor on the other hand, was quite skeptical about Errol's newfound proclamation, and curious of how this even happened.
"Interesting, though I have to wonder Errol, how you are here in the first place? I thought you stayed behind only to perish on Elorin?" Malefor stated.
Knowing where the conversation was going, Errol obliged him with his tale, as he recapped his final battle with Jak, Cal and Daxter on the terraformer, "yes, well it's quite interesting actually. In the moments before my last form was destroyed, I sent out a silent activation code that was sent to this very ship. It was programmed to activate this whole laboratory we now stand in, a revival chamber of sorts, where I kept the other part of myself. You see when I was initially killed, my original body was damaged beyond repair, however my brain survived, albeit scattered. Fortunately the Dark Makers groundbreaking biotechnology allowed me to recreate myself with more than one body. Salvaging my essence from my remains, the Dark Makers copied my brainwaves, storing them within their data caches which I was able to upload into this body. Everything that was once me has been stored safely within this ship, pending my revival to be triggered once I sent the code here, and here we are."
"Your Plan B, I take it?" Malefor asked, now understanding the series of events which led to this.
"Exactly, truthfully I knew better than to put all my eggs in one basket during our previous invasion attempt. For when testing waters, it's always ideal to keep your best in reserve," Errol explained.
"Then the destroyed Dark Ship was merely a prelude," Malefor stated.
"Correct once again my scaly friend, the Dark Makers have been around for a long time, as long as the Precursors in fact. They have hundreds to thousands of ships scattered across the cosmos, all spawn from this mother hive vessel," Errol finished.
"You mean a mothership?" Malefor clarified in a sotto voice.
Errol grunted before answering, "in simple terms yes. Come walk with me, there is more to enlighten you on."
Both planet traitors now walked side by side down a hall of the Dark Maker mothership. The Dark Maker hordes from before followed them. Having gotten over his initial shock, Malefor returned to their main objective.
"May I also presume that part of your Plan B is preparing another, much larger invasion of Elorin?" Malefor asked.
"Said preparations are already underway," Errol answered, "I have also not forgotten about your own plans for your precious Dragon Realms, and I assure you when the time comes, the resources of the Dark Makers will be offered to you, as we agreed."
"I have not forgotten," Malefor said, although he believed that despite Errol's Dark Maker resources, they were unnecessary for him, "though truthfully I do not need the help of your 'subordinates', as generous as it is. But I conquered my Realms once before on my own with my own armies and I will do so again, once Spyro and Cynder are permanently dealt with." They approached the ship's Bridge as they concluded the conversation.
"And what of their newfound friends on Elorin? Even if you dealt with the purple pest and your former lieutenant, what's to stop Jak and his cohorts from retaliating against you in response?" Errol asked, acknowledging the fact that Malefor now had to deal with two worlds against him instead of one. Powerful as the Dark Master claimed to be, he surely wasn't above two planets fighting against him.
"Hmph, their human allies are of no concern to me, I've proven already that I am beyond even Jak and his abilities. Something you apparently have failed at," Malefor said arrogantly, pointing out his own flaws.
Needless to say, the comment made Errol seethe, his 'partner's' arrogance apparently knew no bounds, well two could play this game, "and what of yourself? You claim to be the mightiest of your race, and yet have been thwarted by the puny little paws of two dragon whelps you claim superiority over."
Malefor began growling, his yellow eyes dimly glowing, "keep talking wretch...I dare you."
"Try it scaly, but keep in mind you are in my new house now," Errol retaliated with a sneer. Dark Makers were shaking their quills as the two villains appeared ready to jump the other.
BEEP...BEEP...Their staredown was halted as Malefor asked, "what is that?"
"Something has been detected," Errol said while turning to the screen. His new form allowed him to interpret the characters of the Dark Makers language, "...and its approaching fast."
Both of them looked out the ship's front view monitor ahead of them, where a ripple in space soon appeared, and out of it came something to surprise them. Eclipsing their own bio-organic mothership by a small degree was a monstrous dark gray metal ship that appeared to resemble a titanic creature head. It soon came to halt in front of them. The sight of the new ship made Malefor go silent for a moment before asking Errol, "tell me…was this part of your Plan B?"
Upon exiting hyperspace, the bridge crew of the Nemesis got their first full view of the unknown ship with the mysterious signature. It clearly appeared organic in nature, and was almost as long as the Nemesis, with tentacle-like appendages hanging from various positions on its hull. It was also an eerie dark purple color, not unlike their own Decepticon insignia. Despite that, they felt nothing but disgust looking at it, for it was well known among the Decepticons that anything organic was trash to be incinerated.
"Analysis Soundwave," Megatron ordered looking at the ship.
Soundwave looked to his control's visual screen and answered, "scans show that the vessel's entire infrastructure is composed of unknown organic matter, and the emitting signature resonates with what can only be described as a shield generator."
"Can you identify its composition?" Megatron asked.
"Negative," said Soundwave.
Megatron grunted in frustration, an organic vessel was despicable enough, but the fact that both Soundwave and Starscream said that its energy levels were practically equal to that of the Nemesis was even more troubling. Also, since the opposite vessel was organic, they couldn't send out communication in their usual way. Fortunately, it was not the first time they had encountered something like this, as Megatron ordered their prepared alternative.
"Are the ion probes charged and online?" Megatron asked.
"Yes my lord," Soundwave answered.
"Then activate the comm Soundwave, then prepare to upload and fire my greeting," he ordered. The communications chief followed his instructions and pulled up the comm recorder which protruded out of a nearby terminal. He waited until Megatron finished speaking his message to the opposing vessel, and then uploaded the recording to a series of ion probes. The target locked on, Soundwave pressed another button firing them from a small cannon port at the bottom of the Nemesis hull. Both the chief and his master watched as the probes made impact, detonating with a red electrical discharge.
Aboard the Dark Maker mothership, both planet traitors and the Dark Makers held their footing. Whatever shots the opposing ship fired made their ship jerk with the discharge. Malefor shouted, "Did they just fire at us?!"
"Of course they did!" Errol yelled back before turning to a trooper near the controls, "prepare to return…"
"Attention unknown vessel…" his order was interrupted by a cold dark voice echoing throughout the bridge
"...if you are hearing this message then my means of ion shot communication with your bio-ship monstrosity have proven effective. Keep in mind, we are more than capable and even willing to use more lethal firepower on it. So, I'm only going to say this once, lower your shields and allow us to transport your leaders to me to discuss terms, or else risk having your entire ship incinerated. You have 5 minutes to respond, no more, no less..."
Though initially shocked by the threat, Errol wondered why they would bother trying to communicate at all if they could make pledges like that. What kind of race had they encountered now? Well, there was only one way to find out, according to Errol who stated, "Hmm...apparently our unexpected guest believes to have us at a crossroad."
Feeling the complete opposite, Malefor was outraged, "I do not take threats, I GIVE THEM!"
"As enriching as your overconfidence is," Errol replied dryly before suggesting, "perhaps it's best to save that for when we meet them face to face."
"You're actually going to respond?!" Malefor shouted at him.
"Why not? From the voice's tone I sensed yet another kindred spirit, but more intel is required regardless. Besides, even if they claim to have some kind of teleporter, we have our own means of escape regardless," Errol reminded.
"True," Malefor realized in response before giving his approval, "very well then." Errol then gestured to the trooper to turn off the shields, which would change their energy signature, sending a clear signal.
Noticing the change in energy readings on his console, Soundwave informed his master, "their shield's signal has disappeared Lord Megatron."
"Very good," Megatron replied, "So they wish to talk, they're either very brave or very foolish, let's find out. Bring them aboard Soundwave." Without a moment to spare, Soundwave activated the transporter.
While still present on their ship, Malefor and Errol suddenly found themselves engulfed in a shining red light, vanishing from the bridge of the Dark Maker mothership, and distressing the troopers. While the troopers collected themselves, the two dark beings soon found themselves in a new setting as the red light faded away. They were now in a new chamber made of metal, with only an artificial blue light from above to illuminate them.
"Welcome strangers, I see you chose to confront rather than die, apparently your species are smarter than the average fleshlings."
Malefor was outraged by the comment, "How dare you! You coward! Nobody insults me from the shadows, SHOW YOURSELF!"
Errol was less than intrigued, saying dryly, "Good first impression."
"I see my words have touched a nerve, all the more glad that I don't have them. Beside the point, I do not tolerate tantrums on my ship, so…"
Suddenly, the whole room lit up, stunning Malefor and Errol to see who or what was in the circular chamber with them. Surrounding the two planet traitors were a large group of robots, giant ones nearly the size of Malefor! They appeared to have a more streamlined design then the KG deathbots, and their metal bodies were colored black mixed with purple. All of them appeared to be drones of a different sort given their general likeness of one another, and were all pointing their arms at them which housed laser guns!
A humming sound from the drones preparing their laser guns was enough to get Malefor and Errol battle ready as they took a stance. A silent standoff occurred for a moment, until Errol asked, "so...who's first?"
One drone fired the first shot, with several others following his lead. Malefor dodged as many shots as he could, with some still making contact and feeling the irritating yet stinging pain they inflicted. Errol responded by showing a special feature of his new body, he merely stretched out of place in dodging the shots! It was almost like his body was rubber as he stretched aside and made a jump toward the first group of drones as Malefor watched. Errol surprised the drones by extending his arm out and unsheathing a black sword from his arms flesh above the wrist! He swung the dark eco blade across the first group of 5 drones, decapitating them, and landing behind them as the bodies dropped lifeless.
Malefor turned his momentary surprise around to focus on his assailants, leaping on the closest drone and grabbing its head in his maw, crushing it, before swinging it around to bat down two more. Throwing the lifeless robot aside, he continued to dodge more laser shots fired at him from the rest of the drones. Deciding on a new tactic, Malefor threw up a yellow aura of concentrated mana enveloping his body. Now, the shots were still making contact on him, but the aura the Dark Master was emitting was now nullifying them, much to the drones faceless shock! Seeing how he now had the upper hand, Malefor decided to show them who they were really dealing with, and charged up an aura of purple electricity which surprised them, before he directly fired himself at the line of drones breaking them apart!
Errol continued using his new body's advantages to avoid more laser shots and even melee attacks from the other half of the drones. He even stretched out his other arm to reveal another embedded dark eco sword, and was using both in a dual swinging manner to decapitate drone after drone. Soon enough, a small group was left, and in utilizing his body's full capabilities, retracted his blades and brought his hands together to form a dark eco ball, like the Dark Makers before him. The 'Dark Shot' as it was so named, formed and expanded between his hands, before he reached over his head and fired it at the drone group, exploding on impact.
...BOOMM!...
When the smoke cleared, Errol was frustrated to see one was still standing, it appeared to have escaped the full brunt of the blast behind its brethren as a shield, and prepared to fire again, only to be stopped! Purple energy tendrils wrapped around the drone's body, coercing Errol to turn toward Malefor who had his right claw sticking out releasing the purple tendrils as a form of dark magic. Lifting the helpless drone into the air, he said one thing…
"This pathetic attempt to assassinate...IS OVER" he pulled the drone toward him with his claw before tail swiping it, breaking it into pieces. With that, the whole drone battalion was eliminated, and all the two dark beings got out of it was a workout.
As they took a breath, another door opened, revealing an exit, only to be blocked by another robot, only this one was different and not just because it was gray. It was larger and more sinister looking than the drones, with glowing red eyes, spiked shoulder guards and a cannon attached to its right arm. Flanking it were two other robots, both with different build designs and slightly smaller than the one in the middle. To Errol and Malefor's surprise, the large gray robot began clapping as all three walked up to them inside the chamber.
"Most impressive," it spoke, "normally, I would be outraged at my forces being destroyed so easily by organics, but the way you two fought, was with ferocity fitting a gladiator."
Errol quietly deduced this robot was the leader of the bunch and replied, "hmph, so I'm guessing this was your idea of testing us?"
"In part yes," the robot replied before turning to glare at Malefor, "the other was ensuring your four legged compatriot could back up his own boasts."
"I promise you, you walking scrap pile," Malefor snarled, "I'm only getting warmed up."
Suddenly the red, blue, and silver accented robot on the left with wings pointed his right arm missile at him, "Filthy fleshling! Nobody insults our master like that, prepare to…"
"STARSCREAM!"
The two flesh beings were slightly taken aback by the sound of the master robot's heavy threatening tone, whereas the unfortunate robot receiving the scolding was now cringing...
"Did I give you permission to speak for me?" The master robot seethed.
The cringing one called Starscream retreated back to his master's side in a shiver, "no master."
"Then next time silence your tongue, OR I'LL SILENCE IT MYSELF!" Starscream backed further away from his enraged master. The whole ordeal was noticed by the two organics, with Errol thinking, 'it's clear who's holding the strings here.'
"My lieutenants' tirade aside, I do not respond well to mocking threats four legs," Megatron said, turning back to glare at Malefor, before identifying himself, "I assure you, Megatron is no scrap pile."
"And Malefor is no mere fleshling," Malefor said in retaliation with the same manner, "of that I can assure you, you walking metal can."
Errol could only groan at the two of them threatening and mocking each other in third person, "Ugh, are you two going to continue insulting each other in 3rd person, or are we actually going to have a real conversation?"
Megatron and Malefor's staredown seemed to subside with Errol's comment, and Megatron merely said in response, "that depends on the answers to my questions, the first one is what is your ship doing in this area of our space?"
"Your space? You actually claim ownership over areas of the universe? Hah, I find that as humorous as much as it is ridiculous," Errol replied.
Megatron turned toward the small organic, seething with fury at his mocking comment, "any area the Decepticons arrive in belongs to me, as are the terms of an exodus."
"Exodus?" Malefor questioned, "so I take it you and your minions were exiled from your home?"
Megatron returned to glare at Malefor, "on the contrary four legs, we left of our own accord because our home planet Cybertron can no longer support life, the war elevated by our foolish counterparts the Autobots left it a lifeless husk. Now, we are forced to roam the galaxy looking for a new abode, while bringing any Autobot war criminals we come across to justice."
"I see," Errol said while absorbing all the intel this robot Megatron was offering, "and you...Decepticons remain at war with these Autobots? even without a home? If that's so, then why have not I, or any of my Dark Maker subordinates ever heard of any of you?"
"The War of Cybertron has lasted for millenia, and has taken place in an area of space beyond your galaxy, the exodus began only 5 stellar cycles ago(5 years), we've had a lot of area to cover in that time," Megatron explained.
Errol thought for a moment before responding, "Interesting, a planet-wide war raging for thousands of years that we never knew about, and yet you claim ownership of an area that you just arrived in. Exodus or not, you mechanical monoliths have a lot to learn about what rules in this galaxy. For starters, the Dark Makers are the supreme beings in this area of space, and as such, we claim ownership here, along with our allies," he finished while gesturing a hand to Malefor.
"Is that so?" Megatron questioned, "well if anything is a universal concept it's this...things change." A long tense silence was amidst the three dark beings, emitting an atmosphere that made Starscream take a step back even further.
However, at that time the 3rd robot on the right interjected, "Perhaps my liege, an alternative compromise could be reached instead?"
The organic villains and Megatron all turned toward his communications chief standing off to his left, "What do you mean Soundwave?"
"Despite their primitive organic structures, these aliens do have knowledge about this galaxy that eludes our databases, perhaps a collaboration might help to fill them?" Soundwave suggested. The three dark leaders went silent at the suggestion given by the black and purple Decepticon with speakers embedded in his body.
Seeing how Soundwave had started something to build off from, Starscream saw a chance to readmit himself, and couldn't resist stepping up to put his shrewd tactics to use, "yes my liege, Soundwave's idea has merit, and knowledge couldn't be the only thing that could be shared, resources could be as well! Think about it, if these beings are as wide spread across their galaxy as much as we were in ours, then we could start something greater than what we had on Cybertron. Just imagine, our race alone has conquered much, but three together could rule in an expanse even greater than that, perhaps even aid in defeating if not capturing certain enemies? presuming our guests have any of course?"
Hearing the comments of both his subordinates made Megatron rethink his initial plans. Normally he would always consider himself above working with organic beings, believing that Cybertronians, mainly Decepticons, were the supreme beings of life. However, given how these particular organics had decimated a whole squad of his soldiers with hardly any damage to themselves, he had to admit they had merit. Also, Soundwave was correct in regards that these beings knew more about this galaxy then they did, despite that he hated giving Starscream the same satisfaction.
Although as the Decepticon leader was thinking this, Errol was all too quick to pitch in, "your lieutenant actually speaks wisdom. He is also correct in the premonition that we do have enemies, in fact we were just dealt a setback by said enemies in our own plans of conquest of this galaxy. Fortunately, as I told my colleague, it was but a prelude, nothing we couldn't come back from on our own…"
"...Of course, this whole encounter has changed things, and it might be for the better. Malefor and I have already forced our former homes to conspire and rise against us in an act of alliance, but if another race as mighty as yourselves were to join in aiding us, neither world, including my former home planet of Elorin, or any would have a chance. Of course, the aid is extended both ways, we would offer our services to you equally in hunting down your enemies, these Autobots?" Errol concluded.
Megatron was silent again as he was considering the offer. Malefor just stood still while remaining quiet, though he wasn't too quick to trust bringing another alien race into their collective as Errol was. Of course, he had always preferred working alone, he was only siding with Errol right now because of their deal, and once it was done, he would sever all ties. Although, he was still curious to see how this walking metal titan calling himself Megatron would respond to the offer.
"Hmmm, I admit the idea my officers provided prior to your offer is intriguing, though I will require more convincing than your little show earlier to prove that an 'alliance' will be worth our while," Megatron said.
This time Malefor spoke, "Well as I said earlier, that was merely a warm-up. Though I admit I've never faced beings like your...Decepticons before, I have conquered beings of far greater power and size than them, even conjured some myself."
All three Decepticons gave the dark dragon a skeptical look, then Megatron asked, "really? And would you have any of these creations aboard your vessel to show?"
"As of right now, no, though given a few days, that can soon change," Malefor informed.
"I concur, though I've never seen them myself. Still Malefor's reputation amongst his kind and planet speaks for itself, and it's quite the page turner," said Errol, "as is my own, and it's only growing as the Dark Maker's expanse is, with the thousands of hordes they have spread across this galaxy, hordes that can be your enemies or allies, depending on what is decided today."
After hearing the proposition from both sides, Megatron came to a final decision, "very well, then I propose...an alliance," making both organic villains eerily grin in response, "and now my flesh covered compatriots, let's start with full introductions…"
As the group of dark leaders began with their proceedings, they were all unaware that everything they were saying was being recorded by a lone spy drone sticking to a nearby wall brace.
The dark alliance now grows with the addition of the Decepticons, and just like with my last story, I've introduced the leading antagonists now working together. Just wait until the protagonists arrive, I'm sure you know who they are!
