Xavier woke to a crying baby. He turned to his wife to see that she was ignoring the crying. "Peata," He moaned.

"You deal with him. He is your son," Peata mumbled in her pillow.

Xavier sighed and threw off the blanket. He went to the end of the bed and picked up Brice. Xavier threw his wife a look before exiting the room. He took Brice downstairs so he wouldn't wake Riley. Xavier had a feeling that his wife would kill him if they had two children up in the middle of the night.

He made his way to the kitchen and got a bottle for Brice. Brice didn't want the bottle, so Xavier just put the bottle on the counter and made his way to the living room. He started to pace around the toys. His father liked to spoil his grandkids which made Xavier want to kill him. He rarely could spoil Miral's kids with them living on Q'onoS. Selena didn't have any kids yet and if she did, they would be on a spaceship, so it would be hard. Xavier lived in the Bay Area with his family, so Tom thought that it was always good idea to spoil the grandkids that he saw them.

Xavier saw that his computer was going off and he looked at Brice to see that he still wasn't asleep. Xavier sighed and opened the chancel. He knew that it could be anyone from his in-laws to one of his sisters. He was surprised to see that it was his best friend since they were in the academy together. "Charles," He whispered. "Why are you calling me?"

"I'm going to kill her," Charles hissed. He looked behind him to see if someone was behind him, Xavier wondered why he was doing it when he was in his quarters.

"Who?" Xavier smiled. He loved hearing about Charles love life because it only involved one person. Lieutenant V'lin. Charles and she have been butting heads since he got on the ship.

Charles threw him a look. "You know who."

"Lieutenant V'lin," Xavier smiled. By the look on Charles face, he knew that he hit it right on the mark. "So, when are you going to sleep her?"

"Never," Charles hissed.

Xavier looked at his friend. "Is she married?"

"No," Charles sighed.

Xavier raised one eyebrow. It seemed that Charles knew more about V'lin than he is letting on. "Is she engaged?" Xavier knew as much about Vulcan culture as Charles knew about Klingon culture.

"No, he ended the engagement so he could marry someone else," Charles said.

Brice started to fuss, and Xavier started to bounce him. "How do you know so much about her?"

"The ship is only so big, and I hear things," Charles sighed.

"I still think you should sleep with her," Xavier told his friend. Charles threw him a look. "She could be the one for you and you could have one of these," Xavier glanced down at his son and smiled.

Charles moaned. "Not you, too. My parents are getting on me to marry, and my foremother is trying to set me up with her friends' daughters. You know Vulcan males don't have to marry early."

"I know, but you are also human," Xavier started to smell something and knew that it was Brice. He found a diaper and changed his son.

Charles sighed and looked around his quarters. "What if I want her but she doesn't want me?"

"I think she is attracted to you as you are to her. Nothing wrong with finding out," Xavier held out that Brice was sleeping in his arms. "Use logic, I'm sure that you have enough Vulcan blood in you to know how to use it."

Charles ran a hand through his hair and smiled. "What happen to us? We used to hit the town and find the girls."

Xavier let out a laugh before looking at his son. "We grew up."

Charles sighed. "I guess you are right. She just so stubborn. Why couldn't I fall for a woman who was…" Charles was going to say something but couldn't find the words.

Xavier raised an eyebrow. "I think I remember you telling me that the men in your family have a habit of falling for strong, stubborn woman. I have met your mother and foremother," Charles let out a growl. Xavier let out another laugh. "Just talk to her and not about work," Xavier smiled.

"Fine," Charles sighed. Charles hung up soon after that.

A couple days later, Xavier was wondering what had happen with Charles and V'lin. He had spent the last two days with his family, but his best friend was on the back of his mind. After Peata and he got the kids to bed. Xavier decided to call his best friend to see what was going on.

Charles answered the call after a couple rings. Charles looked like he just got out of bed. He wasn't wearing a shirt and his hair rumpled. Xavier thought when the last time was that he shaved because it looked like a couple days of growth.

"What?" Charles hissed at him as he looked towards the bed. "I was trying to sleep."

Xavier's eyes widen. "I was trying to figure out what happen with you and V'lin."

Charles didn't say anything as he lifted the camera of his computer and pointed it towards the bed. V'lin was sleeping in the bed with her back turned towards them. He put the computer back. "Are you happy now?"

"Yes," Xavier couldn't believe it. He thought that it would take longer than a couple of days before they found each other in bed together. It had taken him and Peata years before they got in bed together. "How did that happen?"

There was stirring from the bed and Charles turned towards the bed before turning back to Xavier. "What are you? A girl that you need to find out everything?" Charles smiled.

Xavier rolled his eyes. "No."

"I'll call you later. V'lin has a shift in a few hours." Charles hung up on Xavier.

Xavier stared at the screen before getting up and heading for bed. He knew that Brice would be up in a couple of hours. Xavier crawled in bed. He felt Peata curled into him.

"Everything okay?" She asked when he didn't put an arm around her.

"You remember me telling you about Charles and V'lin," Peata nodded. "Well, I called him to see how things went and he just showed me V'lin in his bed."

"So, they are together," Peata yawned and got comfortable.

"Yes, but I have to know what happened," Xavier stared at the ceiling.

"Go to sleep," Peata sighed. "I'm sure Charles will tell you in time," She placed her head on his shoulder. Xavier sighed and knew that his wife was right.

Charles called him the next day while Xavier was working from his home office, "Since my best friend is a girl, I will tell you what happen." Xavier gave his friend a look. "I went over to her quarters, and we talked. I placed my lips on hers and we ended up in her bed. The next morning, I woke to find her gone and I thought that was it until she showed up at my quarters the next night. So that is the story."

"Is that all you are going to tell me. What did you talk about?" Xavier asked.

"This and that," Charles smiled. He knew that it was killing his friend not knowing what was happening.

"Charles, I'm going to kill you the next time I see you," Charles could see murder in Xavier's eyes.

Charles laughed. "We talked about being attracted to each other and why we didn't act on it. I learn a few things about her, and I wouldn't tell you about it." Xavier sighed. He knew that was all he was going to get out of him.

"Fine, I can see that you are happy," Xavier was happy for his friend. "I can't wait until I am dancing at your wedding."

"Vulcans don't dance," Charles sighed. Xavier laughed because Charles didn't say anything about not getting married to V'lin.
