Stephen woke with a pounding headache. He let out a moan as he sat up. He looked over to see that his wife was already gone. He had to remember that she had an early meeting in sickbay. Stephen started to cough. It was loud and he hoped that he didn't wake the boys. He tried to put one foot out of the bed, but he couldn't move. Stephen moaned because he had a meeting with his first officer, Matt Long.

There was a knock on the door and Sam poked his head in. "Everything okay, Dad?"

Stephen let out a cough before saying anything to his son. "Yeah," He said. It felt that his throat was on fire.

Sam raised an eyebrow. "Should I go and get Mom."

Stephen lifted one finger. "Do not get your mother. Help me get to the bathroom." Stephen tried to sit up again.

"Let me tell Saxon to head to school," Sam said. Stephen nodded. He didn't need his other son seeing him like this. Stephen heard some mumbling outside his room. He heard the door open and close. He knew that his youngest son was gone.

Sam came back in with a smile. When he reached the bed, he held out a hand for his father. "Come on," Stephen took his son's hand and tried to stand up. He stood up for a second before he fell back in bed. "Dad, I don't think you are going anywhere," Sam gave a half smile, that had Stephen thinking about where he got it from. Selena would say that it was his smile that their son inherited. Stephen thought that he might have gotten that smile from his grandfather.

"I have a meeting with Matt about the visiting diplomat from," Stephen coughed. He couldn't finish his statement.

"Dad, I think you are going anywhere," Sam looked towards the door waiting for something.

Stephen narrowed his eyes at his son. "You didn't send your brother to get your mother did you."

"No, Dad," Sam sighed. Stephen thought that Sam said that to quickly and he didn't believe him.

"Can you grab my uniform out of the closet. I'll have to have my meeting here with Matt," Stephen pointed to the closet.

Sam took small steps closet, he took his time opening the closet, he put his hand on the uniform when they both heard. "Put that back, Samual Parker," Sam turned and smiled at his mother.

"It's about time you got here," Sam said to his mother. He left the room.

Stephen fell back on the bed. "My son is traitor," He moaned.

Selena didn't say anything as she pulled out her medical tricorder. She ran across him. She smiled. "You have flu."

"Really," Stephen moaned.

"Yep," She filled her hypo spray. "You are going to be out for couple of days," She put it on his neck.

"But I have a meeting with…" Stephen said.

"I know, but you can't leave this room until you are better," Selena said.

"But," Stephen started.

Selena crossed her arms. "Captain Parker, you are confirmed to your quarters until farther notice."

"Selena," He used her first name. He knew when she used that voice. He should not put up a protest, but this meeting was important.

"By orders of your Chief Medical Officer," Selena narrowed her eyes at him. She pressed her badge. "Dr. Paris to Commander Long,"

"Yes, Doctor," Commander Long said.

"Captain Parker will be out for a few days," Selena looked right at her husband when she said the next part. "He has the flu."

Stephen heard Long laugh. "Yes, Doctor."

Whatever Selena had given him was making him sleepy, "I'm going to kill him."

"I'm sure," Selena tucked the blanket around him. "You will."

"You are evil," Stephen eyes grew heavier.

"It's what you love about me," Selena laughed. "I'll check on you in a few hours."

Stephen was asleep before she left the room.

Stephen was sitting in his quarters, reading the report about the meeting with the ambassador when his doors opened. He looked excepting to see his wife because she was the only one that was coming in. There was a blanket and pillow on the couch. Both of his sons were staying somewhere else on the ship. Selena didn't want them to get what he had. Stephen was the only one on the ship that had this flu. Selena was still trying to figure out how he was the only one to get it.

It was Stephen oldest son, Sam coming in. "Oh, look it is my traitor son, Sam."

Sam only smiled before taking a seat next to him. "Sorry, Dad, but I had to do it. She would have found out later," Stephen let out a moan. He knew that his son was right. She was Chief Medical Officer. "I hear that you are doing much better," Sam cocky smiled.

Stephen gave his son a look before saying. "Yes, all thanks to your mother."

"You were the one who married a doctor," Sam pulled out an old human game, cribbage. "Come on, I'll keep you company," Sam shuffled the deck of cards.

Stephen put the pegs in the board. "Does your mother know that you are here?"

"No," Sam lifted one card to see if he had the lowest card. It was an eight. Stephen picked up a card to see that he had a two. He took the deck from Sam.

"You could get in trouble," Stephen had a light in his eyes that had Sam smiling.

"Yes, because I love hearing her yelling my name," Sam said. Stephen laughed at his son.

"Thanks for risking your mother rath to spend time with your old man," Stephen dealt the cards.

"Anytime, Dad." Sam picked up his cards. "Who else is going to beat you in Cribbage?"
