Sam and Callen tracked Seth to his mother's house, the two partners were heading to the front door and heard a loud scream coming from inside. Pulling their guns Sam went first and kicked the door in, Seth was crying as he found the dead bodies of his mother and older brother. Hearing footsteps he quickly bolted thinking it was someone from his group, the two started chasing him.

"Seth! Seth, stop running!" Callen called after him.

"Seth, we're here to help!" Sam called next.

Eventually the teen boy stopped, his body shook and trembled. He cautiously looked at the two men. "H-how do you know my name?"

"We're friends of Dani's father. Dani's our niece" Sam spoke, lowering his weapon.

"I…I didn't kill my mom and brother. They did"

"Seth, come with us and we can help you," Callen told the teen boy.

"No. No I can't. I have to get to my dad and we gotta get outta here"

"Dani needs your help too"

That made the teen boy freeze. "Wha-what? What happened to her?"

"She snuck out and got kidnapped by these guys. She was dedicated to helping you, she went to the factory where she saw you before and got caught. They kidnapped and strapped a bomb to her. Dani needs you to help her" Callen explained.

"I-I don't know…"

When those words had left the teen's mouth, Callen had walked over a sharp glare in his eyes. He didn't have a family growing up or for most of his adult life. His team was his family and he protected all of them.

"Dani risked everything- her life because she cares about you. She loves you. If any part of you has an ounce of decency, if you love her, care for her, you would do anything to help her. I get you're scared, but so is Dani. She put herself in harm's way to help you out. Return the favor and help her" His voice was sharp and firm.

The teen swallowed hard. "What do you want me to do?"

Meanwhile

Deeks was benched and taken off the case, he was in the Ops center and kept having Eric play the video of his daughter and just freeze it on her image. Kensi and the two techs saw how bad this was torturing with the detective liaison.

"Deeks you don't have to torture yourself like this, Dani wouldn't want you to do this" Kensi consoled him.

"If I had just been watching her better. Making any and all safety precautions. Kens, she's out there alone, scared, and possibly without her inhaler" His voice trembled, he couldn't stop his lip from quivering. "What if…what if I lose my little girl too?"

"None of us will let that happen. I promise"

"I should have quit the force when Grace died but I couldn't. I had to support Dani somehow and I love my job and career. But I love my daughter more"

"Dani is one of the bravest and strongest people I've met. She's so much like you"

"The kid is more like her mother" He muttered, sniffing back tears.

Before Kensi could comfort her partner again Eric quietly called her over, Nell had gone to comfort the detective. Kensi looked at Eric.

"You got something Eric?" Kensi asked quietly.

"I managed to get a facial rec from one of the bombers" The tech showed her the file. "Meet, Valentine Walker. Ex Marine, got dishonorably discharged in 2004 for disorderly conduct, money laundering, he was investigated by the Marines on the suspicion he was selling Military weapons and secrets. Before the investigation could even start he went AWOL. It was like he disappeared and then resurfaced in LA under an assumed name. He tried to get a job with the LAPD but he didn't pass the psych background. They put in the notes he was too much of a loose cannon, he was never able to fully control himself. 2 weeks after he got rejected he threatened the department saying he'd blow it straight to hell"

The female agent listened to everything the tech said. "I'll give it to him threatening to blow up the LAPD then have the balls to kidnap a detective's daughter"

"Umm Kensi, according to the LAPD files, Deeks was one of the people to train him during his time at the academy"

She just about snatched the tablet in shock and read the file, as they were distracted Nell was talking Deeks down but he was already gone leaving the Ops Center. Kensi had quickly chased after him.

"Deeks. Deeks stop you know you can't be involved in this case" Kensi called, chasing him.

"The hell I can't be. That bastard did this to get back at me" Deeks spoke, his voice hard. He kept his back towards his partner. Grabbing his gun he made sure it was loaded and went out the door.

"Dani wouldn't want you to go off half cocked and get yourself killed"

"You don't know what it's like Kensi!"

When he yelled it surprised the female agent, Deeks hardly ever yelled or raised his voice at her. She knew he was acting out of fear and terror, any parent would snap at people if it was their child in danger. But Deeks wasn't just any parent, he was a single father who worked as a detective liaison with the federal government.

Deeks knew as a detective his job was always dangerous adding NCIS to his life opened up more new dangers, threats, all that to his daughter. He knew it was going to be dangerous, he tried to keep her away from his work life for her safety. If it was one thing the team knew about Deeks, like Sam, he was a loving devoting father. He was a father before anything, he always put his daughter first before any job. If Dani wasn't safe he would go to the ends of the earth for her, he'd move heaven, hell, earth and everything in between for her.

Kensi looked into her partner's teary blue eyes and saw the fear, pain, and sadness. She knew if Deeks lost his daughter, that would be the end of him. He'd never forgive himself. The detective had already begun putting the blame on himself.

"I can't lose her Kensi, I can't. You don't understand how it feels, the only one who knows is Sam. Dani is all I have left of her mother. I can't lose her the same way I lost Grace. I lost Grace to her job, I'll be damned if I lose Dani to my job"

"I give you my word we will find her" Her voice was soft.

"I have to be apart of this, Dani's scared and is going to need me"

Before the detective could say anything, a soft female voice spoke first. "Ms. Blye, I want you to go track down the suspect Eric gave you. I'll keep Mr. Deeks company" Came Hetty's voice.

Without another word Kensi had listened to the shorter woman and left out without her partner. The shaggy haired man looked down at her, tears falling.

"Hetty, I have to be a part of this. It's my little girl" He just about pleaded.

"Walk with me, Mr. Deeks, come and have some tea" Hetty told him.

"I don't want any tea. I wanna go find my daughter"

She looked up, the look in her eye was half stern but more sympathy. "Let's go talk"

The detective sighed and followed her, she began preparing the 2 cups. "As I told you before, I knew Grace from her time in the FBI. She was one hell of an agent, graduated at the top of her class at Quantico. Had the highest case rate. Put some away the worst of the worst criminals. I remember the day she told me she was pregnant, it was the happiest day of her life. When Dani was born she had taken the time off to be with you and Dani, she returned a year and a half after Dani was born. She told them she wanted small assignments, nothing major to put you or Dani in any danger, they had agreed to it. Then they assigned her to go undercover. She fought them about going, she gave that up for her family. Unfortunately they wouldn't listen, Grace was the best undercover they had and they knew it. Before she left she came to me and told me should anything ever happen to her, I'd look after and protect her family. I made that promise. One day it got out that an undercover agent had been killed, it was a female. I had a feeling it was Grace and sadly it was. Right after she was buried was when I brought you here"

The dirty blonde man had looked at her. "You… you mean.."

"It was no accident I knew you had been undercover. I know a lot Mr. Deeks. I brought you over to protect you and Dani. I owed it to Grace to keep her family safe. It was why I also hadn't told the others about Dani when you joined, it wasn't my place to tell them. It was yours and I let you tell them on your own when you felt it was right"

"I can't lose Dani the same way I lost Grace. By the job. It's my fault she got taken"

"No Mr. Deeks. What happened to Dani was in no way your fault, Dani was doing what she thought was right by protecting her friend. She should have stayed out of it, yes. I can assure you that we will find her and bring her back to you"

"Hetty, there's been so many close calls, I don't know if it be wise if I come back after this case"

While

Sam and Callen had taken Seth to the boat shed and brought him to the room. Seth was still too nervous and scared to talk.

"Seth, we're trying to help you here. Dani was trying to help you. We can't do anything to help you or find her without your cooperation" Sam told the boy.

"These people are crazy, why do you think I tried to get out?" Seth replied. "They found out I was going to leave, that's why they killed my mom and brother. Oh god. My dad you gotta get my dad"

"We will get your father but you have got to help us. Now Dani said when she followed you one day she saw you were at a factory. Where is it?" Callen asked, getting more impatient and irate.

Sam then stepped in hoping to defuse the situation. "Seth, we understand that you're scared. We get it. Dani's scared too, and so is her father. She stole files on you because she was trying to help you, that girl cares about you. Risked everything to help you, putting her life in great danger. Help her.

Dani told me what happened with your breakup, you broke up with her to protect her so she wouldn't get hurt. You have the chance right now, here with us to fix this and tell us where the factory is.

Seth, they took your mother and brother, they took people from you and your father. Don't let them take Dani from her father. Your father is about to go through something extremely painful when he hears about your brother. Don't let her father go through that. you know she's sick with her asthma. If we don't get to her and she doesn't get treatment she can die. Tell us where they are and it'll lead us to her"

"They have many places to hide out at. The factory is an old abandoned place near the ocean. That could be where Dani saw me. They operate out of that factory" He wiped his eyes from the tears. "I really did try to protect her, that's why I broke up with her. I didn't want them hurting her to get back at me"

Callen's tone had changed when he saw how much Seth was opening up and saw the emotions pour out of the kid. "How did you get involved with them?"

"Jason. After our parents divorced he took it the hardest, acted out, dropped out of school, he was looking for friends and found a guy named Valentine. He took my brother under his wing and I saw all these changes in my brother and I didn't like it. Jason took me along on a couple of his runs. I thought it was cool but when I finally realized what they were doing I had to get out but they wouldn't let me go. They said if I did… I'd pay for it. The day I broke up with Dani was the day I tried to leave them"

"We'll find them and we will get your father," Callen assured him.

"Are you going to find Dani?"

"You bet we will"

The two men left the room and saw the kid on the screen, Eric popped up on the screen. "Guys, we got the suspect's name. Valentine Walker, I sent you his files. Hetty's trying to keep Deeks away from the case"

"How's he holding up?" Callen asked the tech.

"He just about went off the edge when he heard Valentine's name"

"Why would he care about him?"

"Deeks was one of his training officers when he was in the academy"

Sam gave his partner a sideway glance. "Walker taking Dani, it could have been a revenge hit"

"Dani had no idea what she was walking into, she served her self up to them"

"And now she's in a factory with a bomb strapped to her" The former Seal looked back at Eric. "Eric, Seth was talking about a factory near the waterfront. He said it was abandoned, can you do a search and see what comes up"

"You got it"

Over at the factory, Dani was still tied to the chair. Her thumb taped tightly around the button. She felt it cramping, she had to let go but she knew if she did she'd die. Sweat slid down her face, tears slid down from her eyes.

Her breathing was starting to hitch, the rag gag was making it hard to breathe. The teen kept trying to get her breathing under control before an asthma attack came on. When a face appeared in front of her she jumped slightly. Valentine stroked her hair back and gently caressed her cheek.

"You'll be an important part of our service. It's coming very soon and your father will watch it"
