Deeks had finally awoken the air was damp and it stunk like rotting garbage. He tried to move but couldn't. He looked around and saw he was in a factory. Factory. Why did that sound so familiar?
"I wouldn't move if I were you detective" Came a rough voice, it belonged to Walker. "Keep moving and you'll die. You see, you have a bomb on you. All made up of C4"
He glared viciously at him. "Where's my daughter? Where's Dani?"
"What makes you think I know where she is?"
"I said, where is she?!"
"I'd watch your tone detective. You wouldn't want anything to happen to her now would you?"
Letting out a growl the glare remained on his face. "Where's my daughter?"
With a snap of his finger someone began wheeling a chair over when the figure moved he took the bag off the tied up person. Deeks eyes had gone wide. There in the chair was his daughter, Dani. She was gasping and wheezing, her forehead glistened with sweat, hair stuck to her forehead. Her thumb still taped around a trigger, her finger looked a reddish blue color almost purple. It had gone numb hours ago. Her eyes half open, half closed.
"Dani, Dani. Baby wake up. I'm here. Daddy's here baby. You're safe" Deeks called to his daughter.
The gag was taken out of her mouth and she let out a harsh cough followed by gasps and wheezing. The teen tried to focus her eyes on the voice that sounded familiar to her. Her vision was blurry but it seemed like it had been focusing almost clearing.
"Da...Dad...Daddy" She gasped.
"That's right sweetheart. I'm gonna get you out of here"
"Sorry….I'm sorry…I'm sorry daddy"
"Don't worry about that honey. I'll work on getting us out" He looked at Valentine. "I don't care if you hate me, hate me all you want. Let my daughter go, she's sick. She can't breathe, she needs her inhaler without it she will die. Let me at least give her the medication"
Valentine smirked silently debating it, the look on Deeks face intensified. "Valentine! Please, please! She will die, you don't want her to die, do you? She's a child. A little girl"
"Any other funny business she's dead"
Deeks had to play this out just right, otherwise they were both dead. "I understand"
Valentine undid the restraints freeing the detective, after being freed he kept his hands up to show he wasn't a danger or a threat. The dirty blonde couldn't make his move yet, the psychotic bastard was too close to his daughter he couldn't risk hurting or harming her.
Deeks slowly moved behind Valentine till he had been allowed to be in front of his daughter. He quickly pulled the inhaler from his pocket, he always carried a backup inhaler in case of an emergency.
Taking the small device he shook it and put it in her mouth, Dani tried to fight not knowing who or what it was.
"Hey hey it's ok baby. You're alright, I'm just giving you the inhaler to help you breathe" Deeks consoled her. "I'm doing the first one, on 3. 1..2..3" He pushed it and the medication was released into her mouth.
Dani had to close her mouth a bit and let the medication go through her body and down to her lungs. Taking one hand the father took a hand and brushed her sweaty hair off her face.
"That's my girl, good girl. You did so good. One more sweetheart. On 3, 1..2..3" He pushed it again and Dani had repeated the action. "That's my girl"
The wheezing was still bad but not as bad as before. She moved her head down to reach her father's head. "I'm sorry daddy"
"I'll worry about that later. Right now you're my only concern"
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, thankfully Valentine couldn't hear but it was enough for him to yank the detective off the ground. With one chance Deeks turned and grabbed the gun in Valentine's hip and aimed it at him.
"It's over Walker. Just give up"
"It's far from over Marty. Far from it"
Someone was sneaking up on the detective, Dani tried to move but couldn't. She had to warn her father if she could, she'd kick out at the bastard but they had taped her ankles to the chair.
"Dad….look out!"
Before her father could react something went across the back of his head knocking him out, Dani struggled more till a face appeared in hers.
"Let's move on shall we?"
Dani swallowed hard looking at her unconscious father and watched as a camera was getting put in front of her. Everything else was a blur to her; all she could see was her father.
Meanwhile
Callen, Sam, and Kensi all had arrived back at the HQ and Deeks was nowhere around; they all ran up to Ops. Their detective friend wasn't there either, the two techs had been typing frantically trying to find him.
"Where's Deeks?" Callen asked the techs.
"We're looking. He's a detective so he knows how to be a ghost, nothing on his phone or car" Eric answered.
"What about Dani? Any sightings of her?" Sam asked.
"Negative, nothing," Nell answered sadly.
"Seth is our only lead to the factory. He said it was a factory on the waterfront"
"Eric, how many factories are on the waterfront?" Kensi asked.
The blonde tech typed. "A dozen, maybe more"
"To many to search, we need Seth to take us there"
There was a beep on the computer. It was another link and nervously Eric had opened it, his mouth turned into an 'o' shape.
"Uh guys. This is live, I'm trying to get a location"
He put the video on the big screen when the others had seen it they gasped. On the live feed the picture was clear as day, in the middle was Deeks tied up with a bomb strapped to him and next to him was Dani she was muttering something.
"Eric, can you get the audio louder, I think Dani is saying something," Sam said.
"One second… there it should be louder" Eric turned around.
They managed to hear something from their niece on the feed. It was soft and sounded like a number. 31
"31. 31 what?" Kensi asked. "People?"
"What if it's not how many people but a factory number" Callen realized. "They're in number 31"
"Let's go"
"Guys wait" Nell said. "Walker is on"
"Tonight is the night. Tonight at midnight the sacrifice will be made and it will be made by the famous Detective Marty Deeks of the LAPD and his daughter Danielle. I'll have an exclusive. I'll see you guys at midnight"
The camera had gone off leaving the team shocked. The three field agents looked between each other.
"We got till midnight to come up with a plan" Kensi spoke first.
"And we have less than 5 hours," Callen told his team. "Let's get to work"
