The NCIS team was standing around after saving their partner, the three agents looked on as their friend was holding his daughter in his arms letting tears fall. Thankfully they managed to save their partner and young niece both in one piece.

Deeks took a moment after finally managing to separate himself from his daughter he carried something to his team in his hands. He didn't wanna do this but after this, he had no choice. The detective had one too many close calls, his daughter getting kidnapped and held hostage had completely drawn the line. That had been the final straw for Deeks.

Looking down in his hands were his badge and gun, two of his most treasured and prized possessions from his long career. But one thing he always told himself, he was a father before a cop. Screw the job, hell screw any job. His little girl came first, she was the most important thing in his life. He couldn't lose her. She was the only thing keeping him together.

After what seemed like forever he made it to his team, he was slightly beaten up but he managed to hold his head up. His left eye was heavily bruised. Blood trickled down from his nose but had dried. This was going to be hard to break to them, he was already choking up at the thought and the words.

"Deeks, what's wrong? Is Dani ok?" Callen asked his friend worriedly.

"Yeah, Dani's fine. She's good. I uh… I just wanted to say you guys have been one of the best teams that I have ever worked with. You became mine and Dani's family for so long and I wouldn't trade you guys, Eric, Nell, and Hetty, for anything. I owe you guys a lot for accepting me onto your team and accepting my daughter. It means so much to me" Deeks told them, trying not to completely break down.

"Deeks, what are you..are you leaving?" Kensi asked hurt, tears pooling in her eyes at his words.

"You don't have to leave the job," Sam told him.

"I'm sorry but I don't have a choice," The blonde man told them.

"Deeks think about this before you come to any rash decisions" Callen advised him.

Without another word, the blonde detective put his badge and gun in the senior agent's hand and walked away sniffing back tears.

"Deeks! Deeks!"

Before

After coming up with a plan to rescue Deeks and their niece Callen, Sam, and Kensi had started to gear up. They had gathered up all the weapons they could before they headed out Hetty had gone to her team.

"By any means necessary, you bring Mr. Deeks and Dani home," Hetty told them.

"You know we will Hetty, nobody messes with this family and gets away with it," Callen told her.

"Go bring them home"

Without another word spoken by anyone, the small trio headed out going to the docks. Hetty couldn't tell them yet about what Deeks had decided regarding his future. It wasn't her place to tell them but she knew they would all be hurt by it.

It was nightfall and they were going around quietly to avoid getting caught. Deeks was coming around he was once again tied up he tried moving his fingers in his pocket, he almost always carried a knife on him. The detective had kept his eyes on his daughter, Dani's breathing was finally calm, even after allowing the medication from her inhaler to work. Valentine had left but hadn't been back yet, this may have been their chance to hopefully escape.

"I'm sorry dad. I'm so sorry, I...I just wanted to help Seth and try to be like you" Dani sniffed.

"Sweetheart, we'll talk about this later alright. My main concern is getting you out of here. But you can definitely expect to be grounded for a while" Deeks told his daughter. "Just stay calm and breathe. Don't panic or get upset"

"Do you think Uncle Callen and the others are coming?"

"If I know your Uncle Callen and the others, They may already have found us and could be here"

"Dad, I gotta move my thumb I can't feel it"

The blonde father knew if she took her finger off the trigger they would both die. He just had to keep her calm and from panicking. "I know sweetheart but you have to keep it there. It's going to be hard but you have to trust me"

"I wanna go home"

"I know honey. I know" All the blonde detective could do is hope and pray that his team would find them before they both die.

Arriving at the docks was the three remaining agents with help from Seth. The teen boy had tried to go with them but Sam had put him back in the car. "You stay here and stay down. Keep your head down"

"I gotta help find Dani. It's my fault she was taken she was trying to help me" Seth argued.

"Seth, we will find Dani. That's our job. Your job is to stay here and stay hidden" Callen told the boy.

"But-"

"Seth, let us do our job and find them. We'll find Dani and her father" Kensi assured the scared boy.

"And you better not joyride in my car, the car better stay parked where it is with you in the back seat," Sam told him sternly.

"I understand Agent Hanna" The boy nodded.

"It's Sam"

Once making sure the boy was safe the three agents had split up and each took a different part of the factory, they were quiet. Callen took the front part, Kensi took the side and Sam took the backside. The senior agent held up the long gun he carried looking for any threats along with his friend and niece.

He slowly, quietly, and cautiously made his way through the factory. When the father and daughter had heard footsteps they both went dead quiet and silent. Deeks blood ran cold as his fingers had the knife and were cutting through the restraints till he was free. He made quick work of the restraints on his ankle he moved too fast and got dizzy but eventually made his way over to his daughter and began cutting her free. But was careful of the bomb on her, he was eyeing it all around.

"Dani, I want you to listen to me very carefully. Once I free you as fast as you can take your thumb off the trigger" He started. He hadn't wanted to lie or give his daughter false hope but he had to do something.

"Dad… what are you gonna do?" Dani asked, fear and worry filling her voice.

"I'm gonna hold the trigger while you get out-"

"Dad no! Besides if you mess with this you could die. Don't touch it, any of it"

"Dani, I'll be alright. You're the one who needs to get out. I promised your mother I'd never let anything happen to you and I don't intend to break that promise anytime soon" He took a deep breath. "Just know if I don't make it out, you're one of the best things to ever happen to me. I was scared to death to be a father but once you were born and you were placed in my arms, you opened my heart and became the other half of my heart and soul. I have always loved you and I always will. Callen, Sam, they'll watch out for you and your grandmother for me"

The teen had tears running down her eyes as her father talked. "Daddy don't leave me please"

The blonde father felt his heart being tugged at, Dani hadn't called her father, daddy since she was 7. Not unless she was scared or wanted something. He swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat as he cut her restraints off.

The footsteps had been getting closer and Deeks had to act fast. He looked at the bomb on his daughter and the trigger, his mind going into overdrive trying to think. Looking over all the different colored wires he didn't know which one went to the trigger. All he knew was he had to get his daughter out. He'll be damned if he leaves her.

As the panicked father continued to look over the bomb a voice all too familiar broke him out of his thoughts. "Deeks! Dani! If you can hear me call out!" It was no other than Callen.

The father and daughter sighed in relief, everything inside Deeks told him to run to his partner but he wouldn't leave his daughter. Nothing would ever tear him from his daughter.

"Callen! Callen back here!" Deeks called back to him.

The senior agent ran to where he heard his friend's voice soon he came across his friend and niece. He put his finger to his earpiece. "Guys, I've got Deeks and Dani. Eric, send the bomb squad and rescue"

"Copy G" Came the tech's voice in the earpiece.

Dani had seen someone behind her uncle figure, it looked to be one of Valentine's men. He slowly walked up to the agent with a gun.

"Uncle Callen! Behind you!" Dani cried.

In the blink of an eye Deeks stood guarding his daughter should anything happen. Callen turned and immediately fired his gun taking the guy down before he had a chance to move. The guy dropped dead in front of the senior agent.

Kensi had been walking quietly and cautiously as she went around the factory, she held the gun firmly in her hands. The female agent hated it when it was dark, it would be harder to find anyone. You wouldn't know it until they pop out at you. Suddenly someone had jumped on her back, it was another one of Valentine's men.

He had tried to put a choke hold on the female agent, and Kensi started ramming her elbow into him. Using all her force and might she managed to grab the guy and throw him over her shoulder he pulled out a handgun and Kensi kicked the weapon from him as hard as she could. The guy swung his arm out trying to knock her feet out from under her.

The female agent had jumped the guy had rolled out of the way and grabbed a long piece of rebar and started swinging it at her trying to hit or even stab her with the long piece of rusty metal. Swinging her leg out the female agent had kicked it from his hold and held her fists out in fighting positions, soon she began throwing fists at him and managed a couple of hits to his face. Kensi had brought her foot up to his groin area making him drop to his knees, he had put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a knife, and started swinging it at the agent's legs and ankles.

Pulling her weapon she fired it and fired three bullets into the guy. Hearing the bullets Sam rounded the corner to see his other partner standing over the freshly dead body. He went over to her.

"You good Kens?" Sam asked.

"I'm good" Kensi answered with a nod. "Let's continue the search"

The two agents had continued their search. Inside the factory, Callen remained with his one partner and niece. Deeks was still by his daughter's side consistently brushing her hair from her face.

"Does she need her inhaler?" Callen asked, concerned for his niece.

"I gave it to her, she should be good" Deeks responded fast, not taking his eyes off his daughter.

At that moment he wanted to tell the senior agent he was going to leave after the case was over but that wasn't the time or place. He wouldn't do it directly in front of his daughter he knew she'd talk him out of it.

"We gotta figure out a way to move Dani out of here so the bomb squad can disable that" Callen broke the father out of his thoughts.

"How do we do that without risking any harm to her and us. Callen one wrong move and that's it"

Callen knew he was right neither man wanted to take the chance of moving the endangered teen. The slightest move could be their last.

There will be more as the ending is fast approaching!
