For centuries, the Inu-Clan of the West had risen above every province in the Warring States Era, to create a civil upbringing between humans and demons alike. Toga, being ruler of the province, the husband of a beautiful human woman, and raising two sons, knew humans and demons could live amongst each other in harmony. To create a this bond between these yokai and humans, Toga created a pact to ensure the protection between both humans and demons. Every man who shall be born from the rulers of the Inu-Clan will marry a mortal woman with also royal blood. This isn't just to ensure the peace between the different races, but to protect the sacred trinket of their clan; The Inu-Talisman of Protection. This powerful object is a necklace featuring a series of large, teardrop-shaped purple gemstones arranged in a symmetrical pattern. These gemstones are set in a silver-colored metal and are surrounded by smaller, round purple stones that add to the intricate design. The necklace has a V-shaped centerpiece with the largest teardrop gemstone at the bottom, flanked by smaller teardrop and round stones that extend along the chain. This necklace has the power to protect the clan as it carries the yokai energy of all of the past rulers. However, as it is a necklace that originates with the job to protect others, the holder or the person it will get passed down to has to have someone special to protect as well. The person wearing the necklace has to know the need of wanting to protect someone to bring out the full potential power of the necklace. It is stated in the pact as well that this necklace works miraculously when that bond is between a human and demon that both have royal blood within them. As not only is it between both auras of royalty that the necklace is also bonded with, but as well as between the different races, which is exactly what the pact was made to protect. Many people have been banished for trying to steal this sacred power away from the leaders, as many humans and demons are always hungry for more power. However, Toga was not worried. He had two perfect sons already, as one was already almost grown into a wonderful full demon, and the other a newborn hanyo born between both human and demon. Toga knew from the very beginning which boy shall carry on the necklace as it resonates best between a demon and human auras. The youngest child, the one with both blood within his veins will one day be the one to care for such a precious object and the throne to go along with it. Toga promised his wife to care for the child along with her and make him into a great ruler one day, and a young man who will learn the way of ruling as a gracious lord. Inuyasha was his name, and will be the one heard in many legends time and time again, such as this story, which begins now...
