So this is a kind of spin off story from Jordinio Version. A Pokemon and Rwby Crossover. It's a story following a clone of Poke-Jord, who since he did not actually originally exist in the Pokemon World, was cloned by the Mirror World when we visited Reflection Cave in Kalos. Poke-Jord hasn't got to Kalos yet in the main story mind you. But anyway, things went wonky, and the cloned Jord, ended up in the world of Rwby, with only a clone of his Rotom Gauntlet, Honedge and a Porygon inside the Gauntlet as well. Any of his other pokemon that had been in their balls at the time, did not get cloned as well. And he is now a seperate character from the main Jordinio Version Poke-Jord, so this story will have no baring on Jordinio Version.
Yes, it does mean he has no access to best girl Blissey, or the legendary try hard birbs. But I mean, he could conquer Rwby in a few days with those guys, so that's why they were not included.
To be honest, I don't even know why I started this story. I was re-watching Rwby, got a little frustrated and annoyed by it as I tent do, no doubt many of you sympathize when watching that show. And honestly, got into both a total Weiss and a total Neo mood. Basically flipped a coin, and whatever it landed on, would decide the focus of the story. Weiss, beginning in volume 1, or Neo beginning in volume 5. Weiss won, as you can no doubt tell by the title art and story tags. At the same time, I didn't want to just do something from scratch, I wanted something fun to play with, so thought, why not just use one of my already established characters? But, most of them come from way more powerful universes than Rwby and if they somehow ended up there they would conquer it. so I settled on Poke-Jord, but I had to get rid of most of his roster because with his full main team, he kind of dog walks Rwby you know? And so I came up with the idea of using the Reflection Cave to clone Poke-Jord so the original didn't need to leave any of his pokemon behind, and would start fresh more or less in Rwby with a few pokemon on hand, and items he'd gathered.
Not really a main priority story, just a fine little thing to have fun with. But it's up to six chapters on the Subscribestar. Beyond that, there's advanced chapters for Beyond Critical, Stacking The Deck...I think? Systematic Shinobi, Systematic Shinobi: Multiverse Mayhem, Bleached Invader, The Scaped..another story not up here yet. And a bunch of others if you want to read ahead.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this one.
"…Well this is familiar."
The words were completely blank and devoid of emotion as they left my lips. Standing in the middle of a forest, completely no idea what forest or where…or even if I was in the same world, I just stood there.
Staring.
It was surreal.
I was just checking out the Reflection Cave in the Kalos Region. I had a big plan. I would head into the Mirror World, the one that was a counterpart of the main pokemon world that had counterparts for every living being more or less, like counterparts of Ash, Serena, Clemont, their pokemon…
I planned on heading in there, flying to the Kanto of the Mirror World and seeing if the counterparts of my fossil pokemon were there. Digging up the massive collection of Leaf Stones not far from it, at the same place I caught my Exeggutor and got my first collection.
And more.
…Instead, as soon as I touched the mirror gate surface, a chill had shot through me and I felt…as I split.
..As I formed?
For a second, I remember locking eyes with myself who stared at me in stupefied awe, before I was suddenly falling through a kaleidoscope of mirror like surfaces…and after what felt like hours.
Landed here.
In this random forest.
I'm not even the real me.
That couldn't have been even more obvious. I'm a clone, a copy, I don't know how.
I grimaced, clenching my gauntlet clad fist.
….What if?
"Rotom, status report." I said aloud and prayed.
"System Error Jord," I breathed a sigh of relief as Rotom replied a moment later, "I cannot connect to any normal service towers or satellite networks. This does not make sense, if what you said of this Mirror World is correct, then the technology present in the world should be roughly equivalent, yet…I am incapable of connecting to any servers."
That….that was worrying.
It meant for sure, we weren't in the mirror world as I had begun to suspect, and somewhere else…
"What about everyone else?" I grit my teeth, "Pidgeot, Togepi, Blissey, Fearow, Charizard….are they alright, or copied as well?"
"…So you have come to the conclusion that the odd mirror cloned us somehow as well? Worrying. One moment." Rotom replied simply.
I waited…and waited.
Ten seconds passed and I felt lead in my throat. Realisation already striking me, if he was taking this long when he could scan them all instantly before…
"Error…all Luxury Balls accounted for yet…no signs of pokemon within, they are all empty," Rotom replied and I felt my legs give out beneath me, "Odd, Porygon is within the gauntlet with me, or a cloned version at least. As is Honedge within your shadow still. But, I cannot account for any of the other pokemon."
I tumbled to my arse on the grassy forest floor and grit my teeth, tears budding in the corner of my eyes as a heavy feeling saturated my chest.
No….no….NO!
This…this is bullshit!
I don't care that I'm in some new odd world, this has happened before, I can deal with it.
I don't care that all my fucking plans for back home, all my riches are now lost to me either, again I can just rebuild.
But….but losing everyone? Warm and ever helpful Blissey. Testy Dragonite. Ever ready to prove himself and make me proud in Charizard…Pidgeot?
All gone.
All lost to me, forever probably.
Actually, they're not, they're with the real me still. I'm just a clone…which wouldn't bother me at all not really, if it weren't for the fact that the original me got to keep everyone, all my beloved pokemon.
"Hrrnng!?" I cupped my face in my palms and gave a groaning wail.
'Even Hilda is lost to me as well, it's the real me who'll get her.' he grit his teeth so hard it hurt.
"Jord, apologies for interrupting, but we have another problem." Rotom spoke up, sounding alarmed.
"I don't care." I sniffled into my palms.
"Well you should, multiple life forms are approaching at a rapid click, scanners indicate body types similar to Mightyena or Obstagoon?" Rotom replied.
…What?
Just then, I heard a cacophony of savage sounding snarls and howls echoing through the air and the bushes all around the clearing rustling in the wind.
I looked up, just in time to see a massive blur of fur and bone and crimson red eyes leaping from out of the foliage towards me, claws extended, drool pooling from an open maw of sharp teeth.
On instinct I rolled back into a handstand and kicked up, slamming my feet into its chin.
A loud echoing snapping cracked echoed, followed by a thump as I continued rolling backwards and got to my feet.
"What the fuck!?" I stared in disbelief at the massive lupine beast laying limp on the ground in front of me, its neck bent at an odd angle, obviously broken.
And dead.
"This is not a pokemon!" Rotom sounded like it was in disbelief, "Scanners indicate none of the bio energy found in all pokemon!"
I stared at it for a second, it looked…familiar. But I couldn't place quite from where.
I didn't get to stare for long though, because as second later, dozens of them burst from the brush, All of similar size…except for one lingering at the back, it stood almost double the size of the rest and covered in plated bone armour.
An evolution?
No…these aren't pokemon Rotom said.
They eyed me for a moment, taking in their dead…pack member? Crimson searing gazes boring into me filled with malice.
I shuddered, no pokemon, not even Aerodactyl had looked at me with such desire to kill, not even Gyarados or Dragonite when they actually did try to kill me.
"Hmm false alarm I suppose, these things are very weak, a baby poochyena is stronger than this beast you just killed," Rotom commented blandly, "Odd, is its corpse smoking? Oh how interesting, it is beginning to turn to smoke?"
He was right, my eyes flickered to the lupine beasts corpse, smoke was wafting off its corpse as it began to flake away.
I blinked and remembered.
Grimm?
"Is it some form of creation? Perhaps from some undiscovered pokemon? A new attack? Perhaps a ghost type attack or dark?" Rotom was filled with curiosity.
"Nothing like that." I replied, eyes on the massive one in the back. These were beowolf's if I remember correctly.
From that crappy webshow Rwby.
I never saw anymore than the first volume and a few episodes of the second. What I did remember however, was they were beasts of darkness…created by a god or something? To destroy humanity.
Whatever.
I held my hand out, just as the one at the back, the alpha howled and the rest charged me, swarming out all around my to attack me from all directions.
But-
I stepped around the first coming at my left, burying my elbow in its face, its face crunching under my blow as it fell limp, at the same time kicking out and smashing the knee of a second coming from the front.
They were so slow compared to what I was used to with my pokemon.
My gauntlet clad palm opened up fully, "Tera Blast." I commanded, hand poineted at the one I just downed, and by extension, the others lined up behind it in a diagonal direction.
A humming black orb of energy crackled into existence with my palm, before erupting in the form of a large beam of destructive power.
The beam punched straight through the first Beowolfs head, then obliterated the torso's of the ones behind it in the blink of an eye.
I ducked, avoiding the claw swipe of another, getting behind it and grabbed it in a headlock, before wrenching with all my strength.
Crack!
Its neck broke.
I dropped the corpse to the ground.
"That makes a dozen." I turned to the biggest of them, still watching me and smirked, adrenaline fuelling my veins and making me forget about the despair that had overwhelmed me not long ago as realisation set in.
For the moment.
I smirked at the Alpha Beowolf, crossing my arms, "What about you big guy?" I taunted it.
It snarled, spreading its arms wide, before howling and falling onto all fours and charging me head on.
Hmm?
I jumped back as it lunged at me, massive claws raking for my face and missing, "A frontal attack, after observing me fight your little minions like that?" I commented, surprised, "Not very smart, or did you figure there was no weakness you could figure out so just said fuck it?"
It was much faster than the other beasts of darkness, but compared to Pidgeot even when he was a Pidgey using Quick Attack, this Alpha Beowolf may as well have been moving in slow motion.
Its claws flashed out at me in a barrage of angry slashes and I smirk, "Mach Punch." I said simply.
And I blurred.
I was within its space before it could even react and buried my now glowing gauntlet into its chest.
It howled in pain as it was bodily picked up and sent flying back, soaring through the air and slamming into a tree hard enough to snap it in half.
And lay there for a few moments in a daze, "Hey, you didn't die." I praised it, somewhat impressed.
But not really.
Impressive in that it was far far stronger than its little pack members who died from simple punches from me and this guy survived a mach punch from me. Which in of itself was impressive, because any attack used through my gauntlet, wasn't just my strength, but Rotom's and Porygon's that I picked up just before I left Kanto.
I eyed it for a moment, it really did remind me a bit of a Mightyena, "Hey Rotom, do you think I can ball this guy?" I asked idly.
"Scanners indicate yes," Rotom replied, "Odd, they are made to only work on pokemon. Though, I see no point. There is only savage intelligence behind those eyes, no emotion beyond the desire for death."
True…
But something Rotom said clicked something for me. Grimm were said to not possess any souls. But all living beings with a soul in the pokemon world produced aura…a different aura from this world at least.
That was going to get confusing for sure.
But beyond that, Rotom through scanning these things had concluded, they did not possess the same aura as pokemon did.
But…what if I could gift that aura to one of them? Would they gain sapience? Sentience?
And I did have a way to do that.
TM's after all, were made through a pokemon imbuing aura into a disc of knowledge, alongside their knowledge of an attack.
If I can get one in a ball, I can then put said ball in my TM input machine. And have it learn the attack encoded within the TM, and gain the aura within.
The beowolf shook its head as it regained its bearings and began to rise back to its feet, using one arm to pull itself up using the tree stump it was leaning against. Snarling at me, it fell to all fours, ready to charge me once more.
"I wanna try something," I said simply, holding my hand up, palm facing it once more. The pragmatic side of me that wasn't wailing like a little girl within at losing all my precious pokemon and never getting to see them again, told me I was vastly weaker now compared to my original self. And that I should quickly do something to fix that, "Thunder Wave."
Blue bolts of electricity sparked into existence around my palm, before leaping out and striking the large grimm wolf before it could move. It yelped, its muscles locking up as electricity crackled over its form as it was paralysed and fell limp.
"Luxury Ball me." I said aloud, palm still open. The slot on my palm slid open and spat a gleaming black and gold luxury ball into my palm.
And I tossed it at the fallen beowolf.
The ball struck it head on, before popping open and releasing a beam of red light. The beowolf yelped once more, before decomposing into red light and was sucked up into the luxury ball a second later.
It dropped to the ground, the golden middle glowing a crimson red as it began to rock back and forth.
Once…
Twice…
Thrice…
Click!
The beowolf was captured.
Giving a huffed of forced amusement, I walked over and picked it up, "Rotom, what are we working with?" I asked.
"…I have no idea," Rotom replied bluntly a second later, "I can scan its weight and its size. But no type is recorded, nor any attacks. It does bear some resemblance to an energy signature your group of Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Regieleki and Regidrago gave off, but nothing else."
Well now, wasn't that interesting.
"Is the Luxury Ball's effect working on it?" I asked. Luxury Balls as a whole weren't just the most expensive and comfortable poke balls, but had an inbound effect that increased the rate of affection a pokemon within one of them had, for the one who's DNA was coded into the luxury ball.
Though, it could not work on a pokemon that had no affection or positive feelings at all for the trainer. It could not force new emotions, only stoke the flames of ones already present.
"Yes, it is working, though it is useless, this beast feels no positive emotion for you at all. It will try and kill you again as soon as you let it out…wait, how odd," Rotom began, before trailing off, sounding confused, "My scanners are picking up on what feels almost like a status attack used by one of your Regi's dissipating form around the luxury ball. It feels…almost like my Confuse Ray? Interesting, is it forced to feel these savage feelings desiring your death?"
Well….well well.
Does that mean, whatever influence the god who created these things had, was cut off from a grimm thanks to the pokeball?
I'm tempted to send it out and see if it re-applies.
But, I want to try something more important first, "Rotom, give me out the TM learner and one of my Tera Blast Tm's."
It sure was lucky I bought over a hundred extra of them.
"Affirmative." Rotom replied, and a second later I held the machine in my hand, alongside a pale gray disc.
I sat down, putting the machine in my lap, trusting Rotom to keep an eye out for any other grimm. I set the Beowolf's luxury ball within the machine, before clicking in the Tera Blast TM as well.
Moments later, the machine lit up with a few button pushes, and the knowledge within the TM, and the aura contained within it, were downloaded through the machine into the Beowolf.
"Alright, store this away again Roto-"
I began only for Rotom to cut me off, "Ohh! What is this!?" Rotom suddenly exclaimed, "Sensational! Remarkable! Species: Lycanroc-error! Height: 10,02! Weight: 407 lbs! Type: Dark/Rock. Ability: Vital Spirit! Attacks Known: Scratch, Slash, Howl, Bite, Tera Blast! Data indicates this beast has now morphed and bears many similarities to Lycanroc Midnight Form. Data indicates preference for close range combat!"
Well now….wasn't that interesting.
'Hmm, aren't the grimm immortal, well unaging?' I cast a look at the decomposing Grimm corpses around me.
I wonder.
"Honedge." I said.
A second later, the shadow at my feet rippled, and an odd sheathed blade with long blue tassle floated up out of it, face like markings on it. I grabbed it by the handle, unsheathing the blade, sheathe in my left hand, hilt in my other. An eye at the base of the golden hilt blinked up at me, "Doing alright bud?" I questioned, "Sorry I didn't call you out earlier, I was having a bit of a freak out."
"Hone!" the ghostly sword just eye smiled at me pleasantly.
He was a simple guy like that. A lot like my Blissey, but, very protective since I got him. He didn't like being in his ball and preferred to guard me from my shadow instead.
He was a real reliable guy.
I walked over to the largest corpse that had decomposed the least, "Can you try draining these things life force if they have any?" I asked.
He blinked, before wobbling in my grasp, "Hone hone!" he replied happily, before his long fluttering blue tassle wound down and slapped atop the beowolf corpse.
And before my eyes, the rest of the corpse burst into dark smoke, that was sucked up through the tassle and disappeared into Honedge.
And his blade….turned a crimson red before my eyes.
Did…Honedge just become a shiny?
"Interesting, scanners indicate Honedge now contains the same energy as the possible Lycanroc, scanners make Honedge feel like a weaker variation of Registeel to my sensors!" Rotom whooped, "I am gaining so much data. If we manage to return with this, and this new subspecies of pokemon you have gained, we will gain a nobel prize! We will be given professor status! Haha!"
Well he sure sounded happy.
We probably weren't going to be going back though.
"Feeling alright?" I asked Honedge.
"Hone!" he hummed back happily, seemingly fine.
"Good, good, you don't feel anything off, like something trying to make you try and kill me?" I asked.
Honedge gave me an affronted look, with his singular eye. A narrow little glare, as if asking, 'How dare you think that!'
"Just checking, these things were altered mentally to want to kill humans," I laughed lightly, "Anyway, can you transfer some of that energy to me?"
Honedge hummed an affirmative, before wrapping his tassel around my arm. Seconds later, the same shimmering black smoky energy travelled up through his cloth tassel and into my arm.
I shuddered as I felt something cold, like ice rush through my veins, before settling in my chest.
Then fading.
"That was it?" I blinked, I didn't feel…any different at all, "I thought I'd feel something different, or anything. I've not changed at all."
"Incorrect." Rotom refuted me suddenly, my palm floating up as Rotom used his telekinesis to move my arm and by extension him. He moved my palm to face me, and then the slat in the middle opened up and a hand mirror I carried with my supplies plopped into my hand.
I blinked, "What the fuck?"
I was exactly the same…except for one subtle different.
My eyes were now a searing crimson red.
…That was it? All it did was change my eyes red.
What a let down. Weren't these things supposed to be un-aging killing machines that grew stronger passively over time or something?
"Whatever." I shrugged, stashing the mirror back in my gauntlet.
"Hmm, scans indicate two humans approaching at rather rapid speeds, I did not know humans besides you could move at speeds such as these." Rotom spoke.
Jesus christ-
Arceus above!
Give me bloody break!
I turned, just as the foliage rustled…on opposite ends. And two girls burst out into the clearing, skidding to a halt as soon as they caught sight of me…on either side of me.
One a gorgeous, svelte pale girl with beautiful shimmering white hair held in a side ponytail, with glittering sapphire blue eyes. Dressed like a princess in a white strapless dress, a small shoulder jacket, and knee high white boots, a rapier sheathed at her waist.
The other, a girl with two toned hair of black with crimson highlights, shining silver eyes and dressed in a gothic full bodied corset, flared skirt and tights, with black combat boots, and a long red hooded cape hanging around her neck.
'Oh you've got to be kidding me.' I gaped as Weiss Schnee and Ruby Rose locked eyes with each other after looking at me.
And then-
"I saw him first!" Ruby Rose pointed childishly.
And Weiss Schnee's nose wrinkled in annoyance, "No you did not," she replied affronted, "I did!"
