"So did you have an awesome skiing trip, Lisa?" Max asked.

"Oh, yeah, Max. I totally enjoyed it." Lisa was sitting next to him on the school bus as it took them and the rest of their school mates and Mr. Brooks back to the town of Spoonerville. Bobby sat next to Stacey again and PJ sat next to Chloe.

Max was delighted that Lisa enjoyed the skiing trip as much as he did.

Ever since they became friends that night in the ski resort's swimming pool, Max and Lisa spent as much time as they could during the rest of the skiing trip. Every day, after snow sports lessons by the instructors, they would go skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and ride snow mobiles together whenever they could, whether if it was just the two of them or if they would do with their friends PJ, Bobby, Stacey and Chloe. And even though they were learning by professional instructors of these snow sports, Max was also teaching Lisa about these sports as well and she thought he was a better instructor than the professional ones who were giving the school the lessons. And, in return, Lisa taught Max how to ice skate. He was reluctant at first, but he went with it for the sake of his dream girl. And the more ice skating he did with her, the more he started to enjoy it more, mainly because she was the main motivation for him to do it, and she was very good at ice skating and she taught Max very well and he got better at it. And on some days, Max and Lisa would hit the swimming pool and play with the pool toys and then relax in the hot tub. And every night for the rest of the skiing trip, Lisa and Chloe would sit at the table where Max, PJ, Bobby and Stacey would sit and have their dinners before they had to go to their rooms to sleep.

And on the last night of the ski trip, there was a party in the hotel with delicious party food and dance music, with songs from Powerline among them. Lisa asked Max if he would be her date for this dance. He couldn't believe it. He never thought the girl of his dreams would ever ask him for a dance. He gladly said yes without a second thought. And they had an amazing night dancing together. Max even amazed Lisa with his incredible dancing and how he was both a massive fan and massive expert of Powerline. And his best friends PJ and Bobby were very pleased that he finally plucked up the courage to talk to her and then spend time with her.

And as if that wasn't awesome enough, the whole school finally respected Max. Lisa told all the students, but not the members of staff, about how very brave Max was when he went into the very cold night and rescued her on the night that awful avalanche happened and his very brave and heroic deed made him one of the most popular guys in Spoonerville High School, if not the most popular guy. He was glad he was no longer the school loser he had always been treated as such ever since his very first day of high school in September 1994.

As for Chad, his handsome looks and his mountain-sized muscles still made him remain popular as he always was and he just continued to see plenty of girls and to sleep and have sex with them and he was still didn't care how he hurt Lisa by cheating on her. On the other hand, she didn't seem to miss him either.

"Apart from finding out what Chad did to me, I enjoyed everything about this trip," Lisa said. "But what I enjoyed on this trip the most was being with you, Max, whether it was the ice skating, the skiing, the snowboarding, the snow tubing, riding the snow mobiles, the swimming or dancing with you last night."

The more praise Lisa gave Max, the happier he became.

"And you've been a great friend, too," Lisa added.

"Thanks, Lisa," Max said. "And you're a great friend too. This friendship is something I never thought would happen. Mainly because you've always been so high on the school's food chain ever since your first day at Spoonerville High and I couldn't be any lower on it… before I rescued you from the snow, that is. I never thought you would be interested in me at all."

Lisa sighed. "Since you're being very honest with me, Max, I'll be very honest with you as well. Before you rescued me, every time I saw you in the distance, I did think you were the lamest loser ever and I kept avoiding you like the plague."

Even though he didn't like what he was hearing, Max was grateful that at least Lisa was being honest with him at least.

"But since you saved me from that awful avalanche and I learned about Chad cheating on me, those experiences made me realize that I had never been so wrong in my whole life and they made me realize who the real loser is and that is Chad. As for you, Max, you may be a nerd, but you're a very cool nerd and I've already learned so much from you. In fact, I've learned more from you than I had from any teacher at school. I wish teachers were more like you. And I've had the most fun with you than anyone else in my whole life."

What Lisa said made Max feel that he was still dreaming, but he was glad that it wasn't a dream at all but a reality instead and it made him cry with joy. "Thanks, Lisa. What you just said to me means a lot to me."

"You're welcome, Max," Lisa said. "I mean, after all you've done for me, you've earned it and you've also earned the respect of the whole school. Now, tell me more about yourself. What do your parents do for a living?"

Max told Lisa that his dad Goofy was a photographer for babies and that he was always very well-meaning but sometimes clumsy and that they loved each other, no matter what. Max didn't really like talking about his mom and when she died in that awful car crash when he was only one year old, but since his dream girl was taking an interest in him and wanted to know more about him, he decided to be brave and tell her.

Lisa was very sad when Max told her about his mom. "That's very tragic, Max. I am so sorry."

Max smiled sadly. "Thanks, Lisa. Now, how about your family? What do they do for a living?"

Then Lisa told Max about her family. Her father owned his own investment and pension company that he built from scratch, her mother was a trophy wife and her two older brothers were expanding their father's company all over the country, mainly in big cities like New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Washington DC among them and they were married and they had their own children. Then she explained that the relationships she had with her family was very complicated. Her father was a very strict, no-nonsense man, her mother was very selfish and narcissistic and her brothers were very stupid and arrogant and only got their jobs because their father gave it to them and their wives and their children were very spoiled and rude and whenever they interacted with Lisa, they always made life very stressful for her. They always looked down on her or took their frustrations out of her. She could never work out why they did, but she kept thinking the reasons were because she was a girl or because she was the youngest child of her parents or because she was the only one that wasn't working or because she wasn't doing very well in school.

Max wondered if that was why Lisa kept acting like a diva in Spoonerville High School because her family were treating her badly. But the more time he actually spent with her, the less of a diva she actually appeared to be. Maybe that was because Lisa wasn't wasting any more time with Chad, who never appreciated her at all, and she was spending more time with Max. Max wondered if Chad was another reason why Lisa acted like a diva when she did because of his popularity and his influence.

Soon the school bus parked outside Spoonerville High School. The parents of the students were there to greet them and pick them up.

"See you later, Max," Lisa said to him. "And thanks for making this ski trip the most awesome ever for me."

"You're very welcome, Lisa," Max said. "And thanks for making this ski trip the most awesome ever for me too."

"You're very welcome, Max." Then Lisa gave Max a hug. He gladly returned the hug.

"Lisa!"

Lisa looked annoyed as she broke the hug off from Max. "Sorry, Max. My father is also very impatient. So I have to go. See you on Monday."

"See you on Monday, Lisa." Then Max waved to Lisa as he watched her walk to her father. He had brown hair with a brown moustache and he wore a navy blue business suit with black shoes and he was standing by a red car that looked very expensive.

Then Max was greeted by his friends PJ and Bobby.

"Thanks for your help that night, you guys," he said. "I'll still get you what I owe you, like I promised."

"Thanks, Max," PJ said.

"Sweet, bro," Bobby said.

"PJ!"

"Got to go, you guys," PJ said, as he rushed to his dad Pete. "Yes, sir! Coming, sir! Yes, sir!"

"Bobby! Where are you?"

Bobby sighed. "Check you later, Max." Then he ran to his mother. "I'm comin', Mommy!"

"Maxie!"

Max turned around to see Goofy approaching him, ready to greet him with a hug. Unfortunately, he slipped on the ice and skidded to his son.

"Hi, Dad," Max said, helping him up.

Then they headed back to Goofy's car.

"So, did ya have a great trip?" Goofy asked.

"Oh, Dad, it was out of this world," Max replied.

"Out of this world, eh?" Goofy said. "Did you go on a skiing trip or on a trip to the moon?"

"I meant, the skiing trip was brilliant, Dad," Max explained. "It couldn't have gone any better."

"Oh, well, tell me everything about it," Goofy said.

For the rest of the day, Max told his dad everything about the amazing skiing trip and he enjoyed telling him everything about it, especially every moment he spent with Lisa.
