CHAPTER 1: THE BEGINNING OF THE NIGHT
The rain was the only thing that could be heard on the field as the two figures stood and waited for the other to make a move. The taller of the two, a slender yet muscular young man of around 12 with black combat gear, a small sword strapped to his back and a white porcelain mask with the design of a fox's face on it. The smaller of them was a young girl of 4 or 5 with a plain white sleeping robe that reached down to their knees.
The young man lifted the hood on his head to reveal his blond spiky hair as he removed his mask to reveal his slender and slightly feminine face, three whisker like marks on each of his cheeks, his ocean blue eyes showing many emotions including that of surprise, pain, longing, and most surprisingly for him, joy. Tears began to go down his cheeks as he continued to pear into the younger child's violet-blue eyes. Their yellow hair with the tips having a near crimson red color, but most importantly for him was the whisker marks that resembled his, if a little more noticeable than his.
The girl didn't move as she watched the older boy, confusion on her face from the expression on his face. Not knowing if she should run she waited, tension building between the two as neither seemed to want to make a wrong move. Then the boy spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Narumi?"

"I can't wait to see her! When is she coming mommy?" A young blonde boy asked his red haired mother who had an extended stomach from the baby growing inside her. Kushina Uzumaki smiled down at her 7 year old son Naruto, who at the moment was holding on to her leg, wanting to know when his baby sister would be born. When he had found out he was going to be a big brother he had become the happiest boy she had ever seen.
"She still has a few more months, sweetie. But don't worry, when she is born I know she'll be happy to see you." Naruto frowned at his mother's answer. Ever since he had found out he was going to be an older brother he became a little impatient as he didn't expect babies to take so long to grow in a mother's stomach. One thing he still didn't understand was how the baby even got into their bellies and when he asked his parents how that happened their faces grew bright red before they told him they would tell him when he was older. Yet another thing he would have to wait for, man was it annoying to wait.
"Why are you so sad?" An older male voice asked from behind him. Turning around, Naruto smiled to see his father looking down at him. "Dad!" Naruto jumped into his father's arms, happy to see him back from work.
Minato Namikaze hugged his son and soon to be oldest child as he smiled at his wife before giving her a peck on the cheek, Kushina giving him a look that asked for more as he put Naruto down, his face saying he would give more to her later. Naruto, not understanding his parents' looks to one another, spoke up.
"Why do you both keep looking at one another like that?"
Both adults blushed as they somehow forgot their son was still in the room as they tried their best to hide their embarrassment from Naruto. "I-Its nothing sweetie!" Kushina said as she waved her hand to him, going to the kitchen to finish up dinner, Minato right behind her.
Naruto shrugged his shoulders as he went to join them to eat his favorite meal in the world, his mother's ramen.

MONTHS LATER
"Minato, My water just broke!" Kushina's voice rang out through the house and it was at that point that everything went into chaos afterwards. Naruto had been taken to Kushina's best friend, Mikoto Uchiha, to watch him as they got ready to have the baby. Just before they left Kushina gave Naruto a kiss on the forehead before she said goodbye, Minato telling him he'd pick him up after the baby was born and hugging him tightly. As both Naruto and Mikoto waved goodbye to them they looked back and waved in return, neither knowing this would be the last time they would ever see their son again.
HIDDEN CAVE, SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE OF KONOHA
The sound of a newborn crying broke through the tunnels of the cave as the bodies that were meant to guard those inside laid unremarkably across the floor, the blood from their bodies still seeping into the cracks in the walls. The masked man held the baby in his arms ready to finish it off if his demands weren't satisfied.
"FOURTH HOKAGE MINATO I WILL ASK ONLY ONCE MORE, STEP AWAY FROM THE JINCHUURIKI BEFORE THIS INFANT LOSES ITS LIFE!"
Minato didn't know what to do. His daughter was in the arms of some mad man and this same man wanted Kushina. He didn't know what was happening as he only remembered the explosion from the house he had teleported to. Noticing the slight pain in his leg he dislodged a piece of wood from his foot as he looked over the events of the night. Knowing what he had to do he teleported to a hidden bunker that could keep his daughter safe. Tucking her into the covers he whispered to her.
"I promise, I'll get your mother back in no time. Just wait a little while longer. OK sweetie." The baby seemed to quiet down to hearing this as she went to sleep. Minato disappeared in a flash of yellow soon after, determination flowing through him.

UCHIHA COMPOUND
Naruto sat on the couch in the family room of his godmother's home as he waited for his father to arrive. Mikoto sat with him as she comforted him, rubbing his back and telling him that everything would be ok and telling him how he would soon be an older brother. This however didn't seem to make Naruto feel any better. He didn't know why but he felt like something bad was going to happen and that soon everything would change. Little did he know that he was right.
The ground shook as buildings crumbled and people screamed for help. The destruction was great and the bodies were many, but that didn't matter to one person. Naruto ran through the streets as he followed the path that the Great Nine Tailed Fox had made on its rampage through the village. Noticing the broken buildings becoming trees he next saw the third Hokage and a few other ninja go towards where the fox had suddenly appeared miles away due to his father teleporting it away. Naruto's body screamed for him to stop and rest but his mind was made up and he needed to make sure his father was safe.
This seemed to trigger something within him as red chakra seeped around him, his speed and reflexes increasing as it disappeared. As he neared the fox he finally noticed his mother's chakra chains and more importantly, how they were disappearing. Fear entered his mind as his speed slowed and he rounded a corner behind a tree. Looking at the clearing in front of him he saw the Third Hokage and his men surrounding two bodies. Naruto came out from the trees and noticed the bodies forms, his parents now dead with gaping holes in their chests.
Hiruzen turned around, noticing a chakra signature. His face paled at who he saw. Naruto was standing only twenty feet behind him with a look of shock. Running to the boy he bent down to his level as he held onto his shoulders. "Naruto! Naruto my boy, how did you get here!" Naruto
didn't answer as he looked to his parents. Hiruzen however noticed him looking for something else, curious.
"Jiji, where's Narumi?" Hiruzen didn't know what type of question this was. Who was this Narumi? Then it hit him. Minato had talked about wanting to name his daughter Narumi during their last talk to one another. Hiruzen now knew what Naruto wanted to know but he didn't want to tell the boy. When he and his men arrived they had noticed a small shrine that could hold a newborn but there wasn't anything in it when they came to help his predecessor. "Naruto. She's gone."
Naruto broke down upon hearing that. Hiruzen held him as he silently wept with him.
Away from those near the bodies, a bandaged man stood with a sleeping infant in his left arm. His plans to make his village the strongest in the world could finally begin.
DAYS LATER
The village was in mourning, many cried for their families as they stood at the funeral service to all those who lost their lives to the fox. However, almost everyone there was thinking of one other person, the young boy crying in the arms of his godmother as he looked at the photos of his parents. The village knew and loved Naruto as the son of their fourth Hokage and now that they saw him crying for them to come back many wanted to help him. They wanted to give him comfort and many knew while they couldn't do much they would help in any way they could. Be it through free items he might need when he shopped or even just a smile to him when he looked down, the village as a whole knew they would make sure their Hokage would know his son was always loved and cared for.
One man however was only really here off principle. While he was sad at what had transpired to his village, Danzo now only really cared for his plans. If some had to die then so be it, in the end it would be worth it for the security of his home and people.
Mikoto took Naruto in after his parents death as he became part of her family. His best friend Itachi being there for him whenever he needed it. Itachi even had a younger brother, Sasuke, who was only born a few months ago and Naruto would sometimes go to the boy as if to maybe get some sort of closure for his baby sister, but it didn't work. He didn't know why but Naruto felt like his sister was still out there, no one ever finding her body, and now he felt like he had a mission to do. He would gain all the resources to find her and make sure she never got separated from him again. If this meant becoming a ninja by the end of the year he would, and if it meant becoming the greatest ninja to ever live he would. He didn't care what happened to him. He needed her back. No matter what.
Danzo looked down at the small girl as she slept in her crib, knowing once she could walk he would be training her to be a weapon for the village. The greatest weapon to ever exist in this world as the seal on her belly glowed and she began to cry. Danzo didn't do anything to stop this however, if she didn't at least learn to toughen up now she would never be good enough and he couldn't have a defective weapon. That would mean he would have to try again and he didn't feel like wasting his time on something only to have to try again.

Naruto's promise wouldn't go to waste as the second the academy opened back up he immediately got to work on graduating as soon as he could. While he had been in the academy for a year now already and he wasn't supposed to graduate for at least another two years thanks to the village wanting Genin out earlier due to the attack, Naruto seemed to surprise everyone as his grades became so high the only one to even be able to have surpassed him in the entire history of the school was none other than his father who was a prodigy thought to never appear for at least another couple generations, but Naruto succeeded expectations as he was bumped up two whole years ahead of his current class. Even his friend Itachi had only gone up one class higher due to him being a prodigy himself.
This didn't go unnoticed by anyone, especially Hiruzen who decided to meet with the boy and see what caused this sudden jump in progress for him. Naruto would tell him he wanted to become a ninja like his parents and never let what happened to the people of the village ever take place again, leaving out his true reason as the only one to know was Itachi who promised not to tell others of what Naruto had told him.
Hiruzen was impressed and decided to help Naruto even further as he taught him the shadow clone jutsu, knowing that the one technique he was still having trouble in was the clone jutsu thanks to his large chakra reserves, something his mother had trouble with due to her being an Uzumaki and thanks to Minato he knew Naruto's chakra reserves were even higher then even his mother's at that age. He did do this for another reason however. Hiruzen felt responsible for the boys losses and wanted to give him something to maybe make his predecessor proud.
Naruto after learning the shadow clone jutsu seemed to grow even more so as by the time Itachi had made it to his grade later in the year he had become second to Naruto, not that he minded. Itachi understood his best friend, and now adopted brothers, reason for becoming the best and he would do whatever he could to help.
By the end of the year they had both graduated at the top of their class and had ended up on the same team, their Jonin Sensei being their cousin Shisui Uchiha. Unlike most other genin teams however they only had the three members due to there having been two extra students that passed then normal, Hiruzen allowing it as he knew this team would in a way be one of if not the greatest team to ever exist and at the moment having a team of prodigies would give his
village not only a moral boost after the Kyuubi attack, it would also make Konoha look powerful to the other village's. This was what he hoped would deter them from attacking while it was repairing from said attack.
Hiruzen and the council, along with Danzo, made sure this team would not be bogged down by any repair missions, the only missions genin were allowed to have so the village could get to a stable position as fast as possible. So they decided to give them a minimum of ten D Rank missions before having them go on C, and even B, ranked missions to give them as much time to show their skills and protégé to all.
While being trained by their sensei, Naruto and Itachi learned many things that would usually never be shown to freshly made genin. They both learned their elemental affinities, Itachi's being the usual fire of the Uchiha, this was something Shisui had expected, but it was Naruto who shocked him the most. When Naruto channeled his chakra into the paper it split into three pieces before the price to Naruto's right lit on fire, the price in the middle crinkled into a ball, and the last piece became damp.
"Um, what does that mean?" Naruto said in confusion as he looked at his papers. Shisui took a moment before he finally spoke up, surprise still evident on his face.
"Well, it means you have four elements. Wind seems to be your main one due to it coming before the others, fire, water, and lightning being secondary. But even so, that's extremely rare for anyone. Most only have one secondary element, two if they are lucky or have a Kekkei Genkai. But this, just wow."
Naruto beamed at this as he realized he would now have the power to complete his mission.
Team Shisui would go on to take the Chunin Exams the following year after their graduation, with both Itachi and Naruto facing off against one another, Itachi winning surprisely due to some clever uses of genjutsu. Even with this Naruto was happy as it was at this point he had become a Chunin and could now go on to start his search for his sister, Itachi helping him.

Danzo watched as his men kept hitting at the small girl who had stopped fighting due to being out of stamina. While he could have had the match stop when she couldn't continue, he decided to make this a learning experience. After all, if you became tired then you would die to your enemies. Danzo watched as the girl he only called 01 cried for the men to stop, none did so as their training had turned them all into emotionless soldiers who's only directive in life was to do as their master wished.
01 couldn't do anything as she was attacked by the people she had only known as her family for the three years she was alive. Her crying continued until a Root agent had kicked her in the stomach, her breath being taken away. This wasn't what startled Danzo however. What did was the chakra that seeped throughout her body as she rose and roared out to the sealing. The air around her flinging her attackers away. Danzo immediately put his hand into the rat sign as a seal surrounded the girl and the chakra faded away, her falling to the ground as it did so.
Danzo's normally stoic face gained a slight smile as he looked at his weapon. Now that she had finally awakened the beast inside her he could finally begin her true training.

ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER
Naruto sat in the Anbu waiting lounge as he took off the last of his uniform. He and Itachi had joined the Anbu a year ago now to find better missions, and for Naruto to get better leads on his sister. While it had been almost five years since her birth and many would have given up by now, Naruto didn't give up so easily and as of recently he had felt like he was even closer to finding her. Naruto didn't know exactly why he felt this way but he had a theory. Naruto had learned much about that night and had learned that Narumi had gained the Nine Tails due to his father sealing it into her after the attack. He had then learned that the reason he had run as fast as he had that night was due to him having some of the Kyuubi's chakra in his own system, a byproduct of being the child of a Jinchuriki, and thankfully, while his supply was not even close to the actual Kyuubi's reserves he had a good amount that regenerated over time. However he had never used all of it up as he didn't want to lose it, though he didn't know if it would be lost but hey, why risk it.
Thanks to this extra supply of chakra he had also learned that his fire and lightning chakra were thanks to it unlocking them for his body to use, and due to this they were his least powerful nature's as they were unlocked unnaturally. Thankfully he did learn that chakra nature's wouldn't go away if the thing that unlocked them went away, a conversation that had led to more questions then he would have liked to have answered.
Naruto got up from the couch as he looked around the room, it being empty due to all others already on missions or home. Naruto had just finished a three week long mission with Itachi who had already left for their home at the Uchiha Compound, Naruto still stayed with them thanks to Mikoto wanting him to stay with them for at least another year before going out on his own. Naruto didn't mind this all that much. While he still missed his parents, the Uchiha had become his second family, him considering Mikoto and Fugaku his parents, though it did take him a few years to call them that, Itachi and Sasuke he both considered his younger siblings due to him being a month older than Itachi.
Leaving the Anbu office Naruto walked to his home, civilians waving and greeting him with smiles as he walked past him. Naruto didn't mind the attention he gained while on the streets as the civilians of the village had treated him with as much love and respect as they had his father. Once he rounded the corner to the Uchiha Compound, Naruto noticed some Uchiha children playing with a ball, laughing happily as they did so, before they noticed him and ran to him. Naruto greeted them with a smile as he saw Sauske in the group.
"Big Bro!" Sasuke screamed, tackling Naruto to the ground. Naruto had grown to love Sasuke as his brother, though even now he never seemed to replace Narumi, no matter how much he felt Sasuke should due to him knowing him his whole life. Naruto felt guilty that he could never seem to let Sasuke in as anything more than his adaptive brother and not a true brother that he knew he was.
Naruto smiled as he rubbed Sasuke's head before returning the hug to him. "I guess you missed me, huh?" Sasuke nodded as he hugged Naruto tightly, these moments becoming much more rare as time had passed. "Why didn't you come home with Itachi?" He asked looking up to Naruto.
Sighing, Naruto got up before looking down to Sasuke. "I needed to get some things done after I came back. Some paperwork and other boring stuff like that."
"Oh, ok." Sasuke said, happy to have been given a satisfactory answer. "Well you better come inside. Mom's making dinner and she doesn't want you to miss it again."
"Alright, well I guess that's why you were out here." Sasuke nodded as he led Naruto into the compound.
Once they entered many stopped and greeted them with a wave or a verbal hello. Many of the Uchiha had considered Naruto one of them by all but name and were happy he was still living in the compound with them despite not having to now. Both boys entered the house as Naruto smelled the aroma of ramen, his second favorite kind after his own mother's, a recipe he was still trying to replicate.
"You know if you don't close your mouth then you're going to flood the whole house, right?" Naruto snapped out of his daze as he looked to Mikoto, who was smiling at him from the kitchen doorway. Rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, Naruto walked into the kitchen looking at the meal that was still being worked on.
"Need any help with it?"
"Are you just asking so you can taste it?" Mikoto asked, knowing Naruto's antics when it came to his favorite food.
"Hey what do you take me for, I just want to see if I can help." He said with fake hurt in his voice. Mikoto only rolled her eyes as she allowed him to help.
Mikoto honestly didn't mind the blond's antics as much as she might have shown. She had loved Naruto as a nephew when she had first met him and after Kushina's death she had adopted him so he wouldn't ever have to feel alone or unwanted. The first year after his parents' deaths, Naruto had spent training and almost nothing else. The only thing he did that wasn't required to live was to be with her, mourning with her, and even crying into her arms until he fell asleep. This would slow down in the following years but he would still have his moments where he would come to her for comfort. Mikoto had even remembered the first time he had called her mom, crying into her arms as she tried her best to soothe his pain.
FLASHBACK
Mikoto held Naruto, his tears warm and unending. It had been the anniversary of the Kyuubi attack and after the ceremony, Naruto locked himself into his room, not leaving the whole day. Mikoto had decided to take a plate of food to him as she knocked on his door. When she got a "come in" she opened it to see him lying on his bed, pillow soaked from the tears. Sitting the plate on his nightstand, she decided to sit on the edge of his bed, rubbing his back as he sat up. Naruto let her do so as he leaned into her side before she put her other arm around him, the tears coming out once more as he cried into her chest. Mikoto rubbed his head and back as a few tears escaped her eyes as well, hating that he had to have this happen to him.
"Thank you." Mikoto was taken aback by this as she looked at him. "Of course." She said as he looked to her, eyes red and puffy. "Anytime you need someone I'll be there."
"No, not for that." She was a little confused as she looked into his eyes. "Then for what?" She asked.
"For being there for me, for taking care of me after… after." Tears streamed down once more but he put the emotions down for the moment. He needed to say these words. "After they died. You've been the closest thing to her this whole time. And… and I can't thank you enough. I'm going to miss them but, but I'm happy you're my new mom. I don't want it to be anyone else."
Mikoto was a little choked up from that. She looked at him with a smile full of love for him. "And I'm happy you're my newest son. I'll love you as much as I know they would have, and maybe a little bit more." Both embraced as the emotions came out like a wave. It was at this point that Naruto could begin to heal, even if only a little.
PRESENT
Once the food was finished all four began to eat, Fugaku wouldn't be home thanks to a council meeting being tonight and those could go on for hours at the least.
Once the food was finished Naruto went to his bedroom, a medium sized room with a large bed in the middle and a nightstand to its right, a dresser on the opposite side to the bed and a large window on the left wall to the bed. Closing the door behind him, Naruto sat on his bed as he takes out a small notepad from the drawer in his nightstand. Taking out a pen he begins to write down notes. These notes being that of every clue he has gained as to where Narumi could be. Unfortunately for him in the 5 years he has been searching he hasn't been able to find much evidence, if any, as to where she could be, though that hasn't stopped him from having his theories. Writing down in the notepad Naruto stopped as he looked to it. Every bit of the writing looked like that of a conspiracy theorist instead of actual clues to her location. Anger began to build as he threw the notepad to the door wall. Putting his hands into his hair Naruto began to wonder what he was even doing. 'Maybe she is dead, maybe I'm doing this for nothing. Dammit why me? Why can't I just find her? God why can't I just get a break.' Naruto felt a teat run down his face as his spirits began to break. Maybe now he should stop. Let her go. Finally make peace with her end, finally begin to heal.

01 sat on her bed in her room. The walls and floor are bland and without anything to identify it as a child's room. The more accurate assumption would be a prison cell. Sitting in silence with nothing but her thoughts, 01 asked herself why she lived like this. Her father never gave her anything but a cold emotionless scowl at best and would always tell her how she was nothing more than a weapon to protect the village. A village she never even got to see, not to mention the outside in general. Everytime she would ask to go out of the facility and see the outside world her father would only say that she was too important to be bothered with such meaningless wants. And then there was the time she had tried to sneak out. This led to her being brutally punished by the other Root members with her father watching the whole punishment happen. 01's eyes began to water from that memory, hating that her father would let them do that to her. She didn't know anything but pain and sadness as she stayed with her "family". She didn't even cry in front of others due to her being punished if she did so.
She didn't even have a name that she could consider her own, only a number. However, she had come up with one for herself one night when she had felt sad due to another awful training session, Naru. This name came to her when she had finished crying herself to sleep and a voice said it to her. While she didn't know this voice at first, it eventually became an imaginary friend for her. This friend she called Kyu as when she asked what he looked like he told her he was a fox with nine giant tails. Naru and Kyu had talked about many things in their time together. From how her father was an evil man who didn't love her, to how Kyu wanted to help her escape so
she could finally be happy. Naru sat there, looking at the wall, before Kyu's voice came through her mind.
'HEY KIT, YOU OK?' He asked with concern in his voice
'Yeah, I just want to leave Kyu. Papa's been getting really mean and I… I just want to go away.' A tear fell as she kept thinking about running away from this place.
'MAYBE I CAN HELP.'
'How?' She asked, hoping he could.
'WELL IT MIGHT BE A LITTLE DIFFICULT, BUT IF WE DO THIS THEN YOU COULD FINALLY LEAVE. BUT IF YOU WANT THIS YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO EVERYTHING I TELL YOU. OK.'
'OK, I will. Thank you Kyu.'
'OF COURSE KIT.'

Naruto awoke from his sleep to Itachi's voice, rising he noticed him slumped over him, his weasel mask hiding his face from view.
"Fox, are you awake yet?"
Naruto nodded as he put his mask over his face. "Yeah, I'm awake. How long until we're home again?"
Weasel shook his head as he looked at his partner. "Well if you can help me pack up then by the end of the night. Though from the look of the clouds to our east a storm may make it to us before we get home."
"Damn, ok let's get packing then." Fox said as he got out of his tent and they both began to pack up camp and make sure no evidence of it existed. Once they finished they vanished into the trees, hurrying home before the storm caught up.
Running through the forest canopy, both Anbu were silent, just in case anyone had followed them from their mission, unlikely as that may be. Fox grew bored as they jumped, silence being something he never really cared for.
"Hey Fox? You got those supplies from that camp right?" Weasel asked while looking at Fox. "Yeah they're right here." Fox said, pointing to a scroll on his hip. "This should help with the investigation going on in Kiri, though I'm not sure this will be much."
"Better safe than sorry. Anyway let's pick up the pace, the rains coming in." Weasel felt the drops of rain on his head as he put up his jacket hood, Fox doing the same.
"Race yah." Fox said as he began to increase in speed. Weasel didn't say anything as he picked up speed to follow Fox.

Naru waited by her room's door, hearing for when someone was about to get close. Waiting patiently she finally heard the sounds of footsteps as she readied herself. Once the person reached the other side of the door they stopped as the door opened, a Root ninja coming in with a tray of food in their arms. Looking around the room they began to panic as they heard a sound from above before their vision became black.
Naru grabbed the keys from the Root members belt as she locked the door and began to go through the tunnels of the base, Kyu giving her a heads up whenever a guard was coming towards her. Going further through the maze of hallways and corridors, Naru came to a fork in her path and as she looked around she realized she had never come through this part of the base.
'Hey Kyu, where should I go now?' She asked as she looked down both halls.
'I'M NOT SURE KIT. I THINK I CAN SENSE PEOPLE DOWN THAT CORRIDOR TO YOUR LEFT THOUGH. AND THEY'RE COMING THIS WAY, HIDE!' He said as Naru ran to a vent and opened it, crawling into it and covering the way in just as voices could be heard.
"I understand you have what I asked for then?" The voice of Danzo came through the halls, Naru noticing he must have been talking to someone.
"Why yes I do, though the process will be quite painful. But I doubt you care much for that." The voice of a man Naru didn't recognize came from the hall. Naru, despite not knowing this man, felt quite uncomfortable at how he spoke. "I must ask though, how is she doing, is she ready for the procedure?"
"Yes she is, I would like to start it as soon as we can." Danzo said in his regular dull tone.
"Fu Fu Fu, perfect. We can get started right now if you'd like." The man said, happy at Danzo's answer.
"Go to 01's room and collect her for the procedure." Danzo said to a Root member that Naru hadn't noticed as she heard the sound of a hurried pace down the hall she had just come from. Naru knew she needed to leave as quickly as possible to not get caught.
'KIT, USE THESE VENTS, WE COULD PROBABLY GET OUT WITHOUT DETECTION.' Kyu's voice rang through Naru's head as she nodded, heading through the small tunnels.
Naru went throughout the vents as she heard the sound of alarms going through the base, knowing they had found out she had escaped. As she rounded a corner she found a vent that opened to the outside. Naru crawled as fast as she could as she went to the vent, only now realizing it was bolted shut.
'Kyu, what do we do now?' Naru asked, terror running throughout her thoughts.
'DON'T WORRY KIT, I HAVE AN IDEA. PUT SOME OF YOUR CHAKRA INTO YOUR ARMS AND PUSH AS HARD AS YOU CAN.' Naru obeyed Kyu's order as she did just as he said. Feeling her strength in her arms grow she pushed on the vent, hearing it dislodge she pushed again as slowly it came out of the wall. Giving one last push the vent fell to the ground, Naru right behind it as she began to run away into the woods, rain beginning to fall as the sun set.
Running through the darkness Naru felt like she was being watched. Unfortunately for her the rain all around her seemed to cloud anything not within five feet of her out of her range. Coming to a stop Naru took a moment to catch her breath, only to hear something coming right for her. Turning just in time, Naru blocked a hit as she felt her back slam against a tree. Looking at what hit her she noticed a large black wolf, red eyes looking like they were piercing her soul, as it's face gave a look of hunger.
Naru didn't know what to do as she looked into the eyes of the beast. She had no idea what was going to happen to her as she began to cry out in her mind for someone to help her, her mouth seemingly unable to work.
The wolf waited for a moment before pouncing at Naru. Closing her eyes she waited for the pain of being eaten, but it never came. Opening her eyes she saw the wolf's body without a head. Watching it fall to the ground in front of her she noticed a figure next to the body. Looking up she saw a figure rise as she noticed the mask and panicked. Rising to her feet she ran, hoping the masked figure wouldn't take her back.
Entering into a clearing Naru stopped as the masked figure reappeared in front of her. Naru knew she couldn't fight against a Root agent but that didn't mean she wouldn't try. Getting ready for a fight, Naru noticed the figure seemed to stiffen before removing their hood from their head, showing blond hair similar to her own. Naru didn't know what was going on as the figure took of their mask, revealing an older boy that almost looked exactly like her. Naru didn't know what to do as both just stood there in silence before the boy finally spoke up.
"Narumi?"

Fox stopped at the edge of a branch as he felt a chakra signature close to him. This didn't startle him as much however as the fact that this signature felt familiar to him, too familiar. Looking in the direction of the signature Fox blocked everything else out until he felt someone grab his arm. Looking to see who had done that Fox noticed Weasel staring at him.
"What's wrong?" Weasel asked as he examined Foxes body tense as he turned back in the direction he had looked to when he stopped.
"Chakra signature, 35 meters. It seems familiar for some reason. As if almost exactly like… mine." Fox suddenly jumped to the signature as he hoped he was right. Weasel had no idea what was going on as he followed Fox, not liking what was happening.
Fox left through the trees until he noticed a small girl text to a tree, a large wolf pouncing towards her. Fox grabbed the tanto on his back as, in one quick motion, he sliced the head of the wolf from its body before landing next to it. Turning Fox looked at the girl and froze. She looked like a hybrid of his parents with the same marks as him. Unable to move, Fox watched the girl run away before he finally seemed to gain the ability to move again and caught up to her.
Entering the middle of a clearing, Fox stopped just in front of the girl. Noticing the fear on her face Fox removed his hood and mask to try and show he meant her no harm.
Naruto looked at the girl as he noticed how old she looked, noting she couldn't be older than 5 and realizing this girl could be only one person. Naruto's voice couldn't come out of his mouth for a moment as his body seemed to think this couldn't be possible. Finally, after a moment of silence Naruto's voice came out in only one word.
"Narumi?"
END CHAPTER
Author's Note: Well look who's come in with another story for y'all. Yep I felt like making another one this time. If your wondering why it's because as I was writing the next chapters for TSM and HTBF I just couldn't get out the right words for either of them and so I decided to stop writing for the moment and let myself write something else so I didn't get rusty. The thing with them is that while I have the idea for where I want their stories to go I couldn't come up with something that
sounded right that would make them entertaining for you guys. Don't worry though cause I'd say the next chapter for TSM is around of the way done and HTBF's chapter is half way done so they will be out soon.
Ok so why did I decide on this story of all things. Well this one was obviously inspired by the Jinchuriki's brother by Gogos14, if you haven't read it please do, it's the best story I've read on this site so far and I just want more people to see it. Anyway yeah this story has a lot of similarities to that one and honestly if you want to consider it a different version of that one then I wouldn't blame you cause much of this story is similar, at least with ages of characters and the names, though I'm not making the same story, especially since this Naruto is much more trusting than that one is.
Ok so you might have noticed I went through the prologue section quite quickly and that's because I wanted the chapter to end as it started, with Naruto and Narumi meeting for the first time. So I sorry if you wanted more from the five years between the beginning and the end, I promise to have more flashbacks to that time as a way to show what happened during that time period cause obviously there was some things that went down during it that will come up later in the story. But you'll find out about that later.
And with that thank you for reading this one and please review and tell me what you thought.
Until next time.
