Ruby made her way to Ozpin's office with Penny and a red-haired tactical drone. the borg hybrid glanced at the red tactical as they trekked through the halls. The drone took notice.

"Something wrong Ruby of Borg?" She asked curiously. Yes, she was curious. Ruby, in regards to bringing back Crescent Rose, had been adamant about giving the artificial drone the ability to feel emotions, and think freely.

"Nothing, it's just that when I rebuilt you I'd hope it was in weapon form." Ruby said as she stopped walking. "Weapon or drone, master, I'm still Crescent Rose no matter what." The red-haired combat drone said in a serious tone.

Penny smiled at the tender moment. She was happy to help her first friend rebuild her weapon as an artificial being, something her father would be proud of.

"Come on master. We wouldn't want you to be late to the meeting with the Valian council." Crescent Rose said. Ruby nodded before raising her hood.

MEANWHILE IN OZPIN'S OFFICE

"I see, so that's why Ironwood is here. you want our approval for him to be head of security for the Vytal Festival." A councilman said. Ironwood would've smirked, but after seeing the damage the borg could do from seeing the security footage from the docks decided not to.

"While I appreciate the offer councilman, I'm just here to collect someone." The general said. "Besides, Ozpin was given an offer by a group to protect beacon during the festival."

It was at this point that Ruby, Penny, and Crescent Rose entered the office. "Ah, there you. I see rebuilding Crescent Rose was successful." Ozpin said seeing the red-haired drone. Ruby nodded silently.

"Penny and I shall be taking our leave then." Ironwood said. "Till next time friends Ruby and Crescent Rose." With that, Ironwood and Penny left.

Ruby then approached Ozpin and the holograms, Crescent Rose right behind her. The artificial drone had adopted a stern expression as her master had begun her job for the borg.

"Who's this ozpin?" the councilman asked. "This is Ruby Rose, a student here at beacon. However, as of recently she's become the speaker for a group that's offered to do security at the Vytal Festival." The headmaster said.

"Speaker?" another council member asked. "The Borg operate a hive mind if you will, so the need for a speaker is necessary." Ruby said. "Borg?" the councilman from before asked.

"It's the name of the group that I'm referring to. They saved Ms. Rose from fatal injuries and in turn she became their voice known as Ruby of Borg." Ozpin said.

"So, Ruby of Borg, may I ask why the Borg offered to do security and why we're just now learning of their existence?" the councilman asked.

"For several decades the borg on this planet have observed the humans of Remnant from the shadows in fear that they'd be resistant to assimilation." Ruby said. "It was roughly twelve nearly thirteen years ago that my mother, Summer Rose, asked them to do a single thing on her dying breath; protect my sister and I."

"Planet?" another council member asked. "are you saying that…" Ruby nodded. "Correct, the Borg aren't native to Remnant." This was news to Ozpin. The Borg were an extraterrestrial species!?

"How can the borg act as security?" the councilman asked. "They're able to adapt to any situation related to combat and technology. Take hacking or viruses for example. If a firewall begins to fail, they can adjust it to be stronger." Ruby said.

"Very well, the Borg may do security for the Vytal Festival." The councilman said before the hologram cut out. Ruby let out a sigh and would've collapsed had Crescent not caught her. "I hate politics." The half borg said. Ozpin chuckled

"Sadly, all leaders and envoys must deal with things like this." He said slightly amused by Ruby's antics. "Anyways, with that out of the way anything else the borg wish to discuss right now?" Ruby shook her head.

"Not at the moment." She said. Ozpin nodded. "Very well, you may return to your team Ms. Rose." Ruby nodded and left the office, Crescent Rose in tow.

Ruby proceeded to walk towards her dorm when she accidentally bumped into someone. "Terribly sorry. I didn't see where I was going." The person said. Looking up, Ruby saw a mint haired girl offering a hand. "Thanks." The half borg said

"I'm Emerald." The girl said as a guy and another girl approached them. "These are my teammates, Mercury Black and our team leader, Cinder." Cinder hmphed.

"we come from Mistral." She said sharply. Crescent Rose tensed. Something about these three didn't feel right, especially the cinder girl. Ruby took notice, but said nothing. "Here for the festival coming up?" she asked on guard.

"Yeah." Mercury said. "well, guest dorms are that way." The half borg said pointing behind the three. "Argh, I told you we took a wrong turn." The grey-haired boy said. "Thanks." Emerald said before she and her teammates departed.

Ruby waved with a smile however, said smile vanished as soon as the three turned the corner. The half borg's expression turned deathly serious.

"What's wrong Crescent Rose?" she asked. "Something felt off about them. Especially that Cinder girl." The artificial drone said. "Hmm. 6 of 8, 5 of 7, you both saw that correct?" Ruby asked.

Both drones decloaked before her having been with her the entire time. "indeed Ruby of Borg. What shall you have the collective do?" 6 of 8 asked. "Have some drones tail them." Ruby said.

"If they have any nefarious intentions for beacon, we want to know immediately so we can report it to professor Ozpin. And have them record anything that can be used as evidence." Crescent Rose added

Ruby nodded at Crescent's addition to her order before looking in the trio's direction. "The council put their faith in you guys. Let's not disappoint." She said. 6 of 8 nodded before the two drones cloaked.

LATER

Ruby sighed as she and Crescent entered her team's dorm. "How'd it go?" Blake asked seemingly appearing in front of Ruby. The artificial drone chuckled at her master as said person's face turned pink at the close proximity the cat Faunus was to Ruby.

Back when she was still originally a weapon, her master would often talk to her about the crush she had on Blake.

"Come on ruby, don't leave us in suspense." Yang said. "The council approved the borg of handling security, but on the way back Crescent and I ran into three people supposedly from Mistral. I've asked to have drones tail them."

"Ok. With that stuff out of the way, we'll handle the case of those three later, we have another thing to settle. Right Blake?" Weiss said with a grin that'd put the cheshire cat to shame.

"What?" Ruby asked as Blake's face turned red. "You didn't hear me during your conversion, but…" the Faunus began bowing her head. Blake let out a groan whilst gripping her hair. "it's one thing to say it when you're unconscious, but I'm so nervous since you're awake."

"Blake," Yang said catching her attention. "Remember, I approve." Ruby raised an eyebrow as Blake took a deep breath and sighed slowly. "Approve of what?" the half borg asked. "Ruby Rose," Blake said catching her attention. "I love you."

Ruby's eyes widened. Blake didn't just say what she thought she did, did she? The speaker of the borg grabbed her arm. "Blake, what did you just say?" Blake shook her head. "Forget about it." She said. "No. what'd you say?" Ruby asked gripping her arm.

Letting out a sigh, Blake repeated what she had said. "I love you Ruby Rose." She said. Ruby felt tears begin to swell in her eyes and allowed her head to fall onto Blake's chest before she began to sob. "Ruby! What's wrong?" the Faunus said panicking.

"Nothing's wrong Mistress Blake. You have no idea how much master wanted to hear you say those words to her." Crescent said. Blake was about to question the drone what she meant when Ruby said something, but it was muffled.

"Can't hear ya Rubes, your mouth was full. Blake glared at yang. While she didn't mind Ruby having her face where it was, she too, was curious. "Sorry, I said that I love you too Blake." Blake's eyes widened. Her crush was returning her feelings?!.

"Well? Aren't you two going to do it?" Yang asked. Blake smirked and pressed her lips against Ruby's. the half borg was slightly stunned, but eased into it.

For them, the feeling of their confessions to each other were out of this world. Little did Team RWBY or the rest of Remnant know was that they were about to receive some visitors from the stars.

MEANWHILE IN OUTER SPACE FAR FROM REMNANT

A Galaxy-class starship lumbered through space peacefully. The registry number on its hull was NCC-1701-D. This was the USS Enterprise and its crew would soon be on a collision course with the people and borg of Remnant.

A/N: Thus ends chapter 9. I'll be swapping the story's focus to the Enterprise's crew next chapter and will remain so for a bit before we return to team RWBY/borg of Remnant's POV.

So, what'd you all think of my ladybug ship finally sailing scene was 9 chapters in too early or just right? The scene with ruby at first muffling her response to Blake's confession was meant to be more ladybug humor.

Next on Ruby of Borg we'll be seeing Captain Picard and crew having a 'nice' reunion with a certain omnipotent being.
