Akira stared at the group warily, his scythe still ready in his hand. He assessed the individuals in front of him: a man who looked like he'd seen too much, a boy who carried himself with quiet strength, and a group of teenagers who seemed both curious and ready for a fight.
Finally, he let out a slow breath, the glow of his Forceriser dimming. He reached to his side and pulled the Fighting Jackal Progrisekey from the device with a mechanical click.
With a brief flash of light, the armored of his Forceriser disassembled, leaving him back in his unarmored form.
The scythe dissolved into fragments, and the area became silent.
The group took a moment to get a full look at him.
Ruby Rose: "Whoa! That was awesome! So, uh, you're some kind of tech-based Huntsman? Is that, like, a whole new type of weaponry or—"
Weiss Schnee: "Ruby, calm down. We still don't know who he is or why he's here. For all we know, he could be working with the enemy."
Akira slung his bag over his shoulder, his expression cold but measured. He adjusted the strap and walked past the group, heading for the house without a word.
Qrow Branwen: "Alright, alright, give him some space. He doesn't look like he's here to burn the place down—yet."
The others hesitated but followed him inside. Akira stepped into the living room, letting out a breath as he dropped into a seat on the couch.
He rested his bag beside him, his posture relaxed but his eyes sharp, scanning the room as though expecting an attack.
The group spread out, some standing while others sat. Qrow leaned against a wall, flask in hand, studying Akira with a mix of curiosity and caution.
Qrow: "So, kid, care to explain what exactly went down with Raven? Not every day someone manages to not lose to her."
Akira's gaze flicked to Qrow. He remained silent for a long moment before finally answering, his tone even and distant.
Akira: "I was passing through a mining village. They had a Death Stalker problem. I handled it."
Ren: "Impressive. Not many Huntsmen can take down a Death Stalker alone."
Akira: "Then her tribe showed up. They attacked. I fought her to a draw and tracked her down to finish it. She ran. You know the rest."
The group exchanged glances. Qrow frowned, taking a long drink from his flask.
Qrow: "Figures. Sounds like her to make someone else deal with her mess."
Ruby: "Wait, Uncle Qrow—does that mean Raven teleported him here?"
Qrow: "That'd be my guess. She's got a habit of dragging her problems into other people's laps."
Akira tilted his head slightly, his green and brown eyes sharp.
Akira: "Since she brought me here, I assume this is your problem now?"
Qrow: "More like my headache, but sure, let's call it that."
Oscar/Ozpin: "If I may ask, do you know where you are?"
Akira's eyes narrowed slightly.
Akira: "Not exactly. My goal was the Kingdom of Mistral. If she teleported me, I doubt I'm there yet."
Qrow: "Hate to break it to you, but you're already in Mistral. This little hideaway's just a pit stop."
Akira's lips tightened into a thin line. He seemed to consider this, his expression unreadable.
Akira: "Then I'll make my way to the city soon."
The group looked at each other uneasily. Ruby broke the tension, her curiosity bubbling over again.
Ruby: "Okay, but—what's that gear you used? I've never seen anything like it! How does it work? What's that thing you pulled out of it?"
Akira: "It's called a Progrisekey. The rest isn't your concern."
Weiss: "Figures. A man of few words."
Ignoring her, Akira opened his bag, pulling out his Portable Terminal and Progrisekey Connector.
The group watched as he worked, connecting the Fighting Jackal Progrisekey and extracting data.
He then inserted a blank key into a small 3D printer, letting the device hum to life as it began fabricating a new key.
The group exchanged confused and curious looks as the printer worked.
Yang: "Okay, seriously, what's with the mad scientist vibe? What's that thing supposed to do?"
Akira didn't look up.
Akira: "It's a prototype. An experimental design."
Ren: "Based on what?"
Akira's gaze flicked to Ren for a brief moment before returning to his work.
Akira: "You wouldn't understand but it's something rather Grimm."
As the printer whirred and began to form the jagged, black-and-red casing of the Grimm Beowolf Progrisekey, Oscar leaned over to Qrow, whispering.
Oscar/Ozpin: "Do you think we should ask him to join us? We don't have many options for extra help, and he clearly knows how to fight."
Qrow: "I don't know, He's… unpredictable. But you're not wrong. We're running out of cards to play."
After a pause, Qrow straightened, addressing Akira.
Qrow: "Listen, we're heading to Haven Academy tonight to meet the headmaster.
It's a long story, but we've got a dangerous mission ahead.
If you're willing to tag along, I might be able to arrange that rematch with Raven."
Akira finally looked up, his expression skeptical.
Akira: "You think I'd work with strangers for a rematch?"
Qrow: "Hey, you've got your reasons, I've got mine. It's your call, kid."
After a long silence, Akira leaned back slightly, his gaze calculating.
Akira: "Fine. But if you get in my way, you'll regret it."
The uneasy alliance was formed.
