If you ever want to piss off the government, try telling them no. That's what I did, and now I'm bound and gagged in the back of a black sedan going down the highway to god knows where. All I know is that some sexy woman named "Agent Smith" wanted to talk to me about the giant snake monster girl I saw in Afghanistan.
"Alright Mr. Casey, we're here. I'm going to open the door, and you're going to walk where I tell you." She stopped the car, and threw me on the ground. When I stood up, she shoved the gun in my back and told me to start walking.
Eventually I heard the sounds of automatic doors opening and air conditioning hitting my face. Once we were inside, I had my blindfold taken off.
What I saw was nothing short of incredible. This place was a massive office building. Everywhere I looked were state of the art cubicles, with all sorts of federal agents walking around. They all looked and dressed like Smith. There were also scientists, doctors, and fully armed soldiers here too. However, there was something odd about all of them.
They were all women.
"What is this place?"
Smith adjusted her sunglasses. "This is a secure Federal building. That is all I can say at this time."
"Then why did you bring me here?"
"Because you are the only person outside of this building that knows about Monster Girls."
My jaw flew open. "Holy shit, you mean they're real?!"
"Yes Mr. Casey. Monster Girls are very real. In fact, they are one of the government's best kept top secrets. While all of the tin foil hat wearing schizos are busy online talking about aliens or bigfoot, the real creatures wandering the earth that they should be worried about are right here in this very facility."
No way. I couldn't believe it. Monster Girls were not only real, but the government already knew about them, and kept them all top secret! What the hell is going on here?
"Hey wait a minute, does that mean Aliens and Bigfoot are both fake?"
Smith, along with a few other women walking by, started laughing. "Of course they're fake! All of those alien photos were taken in a studio in Hollywood. Bigfoot was literally a guy in a costume! I think we still have it around in a closet somewhere if you want to see it."
"But, why? Why go to such great lengths to keep this all a secret?"
Smith started getting serious as we started walking around. "Because these creatures are very powerful, and very dangerous. If any of them were to get out into the world, the damage they would cause would be catastrophic."
We walked past some large glass rooms. They were full of amazing creatures. Harpys, Centaurs, even Cat GIrls. It was incredible.
"Why are you so sure that they would go crazy and start killing people?"
Smith sighed. "It's simply their nature, Mr. Casey. Have you ever heard the old children's tale about the scorpion and the frog?"
"Huh?"
"These creatures are literal monsters. Despite how attractive they may look, we must exercise the utmost caution when dealing with them." The two of us kept walking. "You may be wondering why there are only monster girls, and no monster boys? Well, at first we thought that by eliminating the males of their species, they would all simply die out. That plan worked at first. Their numbers sharply declined, and humanity was allowed to take over as the dominant species on this planet. However, we greatly underestimated their survival instincts. You see Mr. Casey, Life… finds a way."
Okay…. What the hell is this woman saying? Clearly she must be messing with me. I mean, she did say earlier that aliens and bigfoot were both fake.
"You don't seem to believe me, Mr. Casey. I assure you, what I'm telling you is the truth. Look around, haven't you noticed that there are no men here? Why do you think that is?"
Holy shit she's right. I felt a chill run down my spine when she told me more we walked through the halls, the more I noticed that the monster girls in the glass rooms started getting agitated. It was like they could smell something delicious, like a starving man smelling fresh baked bread.
"Umm, are we safe? Those girls are looking at me kinda scary." I saw a huge room full of what looked like wolf girls. They had a gleam in their eyes, like a predator cornering its prey.
"Oh yeah we're totally safe. That glass is bulletproof, shatterproof, and soundproof. There is no way they are getting out of there." Ah yes, those famous last words. As we were walking around I couldn't shake this awkward feeling that something bad was going to happen.
"So, why am I here?"
Smith turned around and faced me. "Because, you are the perfect test subject that we need to complete our final round of testing."
"But why me specifically?"
"Well, you have no home, no family, no friends, no job. Technically speaking, you don't even exist, since you were officially declared dead by the Marine Corps. Nobody would care that you went missing. Nobody will come looking for you. Nobody will be sad if you die here."
Hearing those words made me very angry, but also, very sad at the same time. The way she said it with such a straight face, devoid of any humanity. Technically I was dead. Everyone who ever knew me had buried me long ago, and moved on with their lives. There would be no family waiting for me at home. There was no home to go back to. They knew this, and wanted to use it for their little schemes.
"What if I say no?" I sort of already knew the answer, but I wanted to ask anyway just to see what she would say.
"Then we'll make you say yes."
We started walking past this huge steel door that had all sorts of cameras, alarms, and locks on it. My curiosity got the better of me and I approached it.
"What's that?" I stupidly asked. "That is where we keep the more…. dangerous … girls. Let's just keep moving along, shall we?" Smith looked nervous. I wonder what was lying behind that door.
Turns out I was about to find out. I walked closer to the door to get a closer look. My eyes looked through the dark tinted glass opening and saw nothing at first, but then a pair of smoldering red eyes gazed back at me. My heart beat out of my chest as I jumped backwards. Suddenly I heard that steel door start banging from the inside. It sounded like someone was trying to knock it down with a battering ram. I got to my feet and tried to run back to smith. In order to keep my balance, I leaned against the wall, and must have accidentally pressed something. All of the sudden, alarms were starting to go off.
"Warning. Containment breach in sector H. All personnel evacuate to the nearest safe room. Warning. Containment breach in sector H. All personnel evacuate to the nearest safe room."
Suddenly a bunch of security guards in full riot gear started running to the door. They were all facing the door forming a wall with their shields.
"Mr. Casey, we need to get out of here now!" Smith was pulling my shirt. I was so captivated by the scene that I couldn't move.
That's when I saw her.
*BOOM*
The giant steel door was blown off the hinges, and there stood a massive 7 foot tall woman. She had skin as black as midnight. Her frame was dripping with muscle mass. Her wrists and ankles were carrying broken chains. Her black eyes had bright red flames coming out of the sides of them. In place of hands and feet, she had huge paws with razor sharp claws. They easily cut through the riot shields of the guards.
"I SMELL MAN FLESH." She screamed in a low voice. I stood with fear as her devilish eyes locked on to mine.
"YOU…. YOU"RE MINE."
Too bad I didn't have my man card on me. I needed to turn it into Smith, because the screams that came out of my mouth were those of a little girl.
My feet were on autopilot as the giant black demon chased after me. Her huge bushy black tail was swaying back and forth at a furious pace. A bunch of other guards came running out and started shooting the giant wolf girl with tranquilizer darts. They may as well have been shooting at a dart board.
"Mr. Casey, we need to get out of here! This place is going on full lockdown, which means they're going to flood the whole place with sleeping gas. I can't guarantee your safety if i'm unconscious." Smith yelled to me while we were both running. Alarms were now going off like crazy as the giant black wolf was still engaged with the guards.
"Screw this shit, i'm getting out of here!" Instead of following her down the hall, I took a left towards the main entrance. I heard the sounds of glass shattering. When I turned around to look at smith, I noticed that the protective glass cages the other monster girls were in had all been destroyed by the giant wolf girl.
Gotta love those government low-bid contracts.
"Wait, Mr. Casey, Stop! It's too dangerous!" Smith yelled out as the giant wolf girl tried to grab me, but I was too quick. I ran towards the exit while the giant hellspawn tossed Smith aside like a ragdoll.
The blast doors were closing on the entrance, but thankfully, I managed to make it just in time before they closed.
X
That whole ordeal had left me in total shock. I had no time to turn around and examine my surroundings. Whether or not that giant wolf girl was chasing me was something I would have to find out later. Right now, all I could do was run. I ran as fast as I could through the midnight forest. No sense of direction required. Just figure out which direction the building is, and run in any direction away from it.
Eventually I slowed down once the adrenaline wore off. That's when I realized just how tired I was. I had no idea where I was, or what time it was. Oh well, it's not like I have to be home by dinner time.
As I kept walking, eventually I came up to a clearing in the trees. Strangely my shoes were touching something hard and smooth. Wait a minute, this is a road! Oh what luck! Maybe I can hitchhike my way out of here.
With my thumb hanging high in the air, I stood by the road waiting anxiously. Thankfully I soon saw headlights in the distance. It was a big rig semi-truck. He must have seen me, as he started to slow down and pull over right beside me.
"Hey there, handsome. You need a ride?" The window rolled down to reveal a beautiful woman inside.
"Yes please!"
"Haha, well come on in. I got room." I darted around the front of the truck and climbed up to the passenger side. Once I was in my seat with my seatbelt on, I closed the door and she drove us off.
This woman was something else. She was by far the sexiest thing I have ever seen. She had pale skin, snow white hair, and black eyes with red pupils.
Wait a minute…. Black eyes?
"So, what's a cute boy like you doing in a place like this?" She teased me. By god did she know how to tease.
"Hehe~um funny story, you see, I was captured by this government agent. When I woke up I was in some kind of secret base. I broke out and found myself in these woods."
Surprisingly, this woman believed everything I said. "I see. They took you to the compound huh? That was very foolish of them."
"Wait, you know about that place?"
She turned to me and smiled. "Yes. There are some very special girls being held there. Forced to undergo brutal experiments for their sick and twisted schemes. As far as I know, I am the only one they have yet to capture." Her voice trailed off as she took a sip of a giant soda.
"Wow, you must be pretty powerful. I accidentally freed this one girl in there, she was the scariest thing I have ever seen! She was like 7 feet tall, black skin, huge muscles, big bushy tail~"
The sexy truck driver choked on her coke as she looked back at me in shock. "Wait, you mean you freed a hellhound?!"
"Umm, y-yeah. I didn't really do anything. I just remember walking up to this big steel door, and suddenly she was busting it down from the inside."
She looked back at the road with a joyful expression. "Wow, I'm impressed kid! You have potential. You may be exactly what I need to carry out my plans…. However, If the hellhound got free, then the others were freed too" Then she turned back to me as her face collapsed.
"But that's bad news for you."
"What do you mean?"
"The hellhound has your scent. She will never stop hunting you until she has claimed you for herself. You need to be extremely careful from now on. Believe me when I say that she is out there looking for you. Tracking your every move. One day, when you least expect it, she is going to find you."
Holy shit, this is bad. I felt a chill run down my spine. This truck driver sensed this and tried to reassure me.
"Hahahaha! You should see the look on your face! Ahhh lighten up, I was just messing with ya! This truck is going 80mph, and with all the exhaust i'm churning out, there is no way she will be able to pick up your scent now. Don't worry kid, you're going to be alright."
She did her best, but my mind was still preoccupied with the events from earlier. Why are those monster girls so dangerous? What sort of testing did they want me to do with them? What were they hoping to accomplish with all of that? There were too many mysteries here, and I was way too tired to solve them right now.
"What's your name kid?" The sexy truck driver asked me. She smiled at me with her black eyes and charming voice.
"Cole Casey. What's yours?"
"You can call me Lily." The two of us sat in silence for a little bit. I tried to turn on the radio, and they were playing Maneater by Hall & Oates.
"Oh dude, turn that up! I love this song." Lily leaned into the radio. I also leaned into the radio to adjust the dial, and our hands touched. We shared a pause, when the two of our eyes met. Our faces were really close together. I could smell her breath on my nose.
"You're even cuter up close, Cole." She lowered her eyes at me. I'm sure my face was blushing by now. She giggled and cupped my cheeks. I froze for a second, until she leaned in and kissed me.
It was so magical. The two of us shared such a passionate kiss in that truck cabin. I can't remember the last time I acted this way with a woman.
"Not bad. I'm starting to like you kid. Here, let me give you a little parting gift." She leaned in and kissed me again. Her lips felt warmer than before. I felt this warm goo pour down my throat and heat up my body. Butterflies grew in my stomach as my eyes opened as a reaction to a sudden bright light shining in the windshield. It was then that I realized she had let go of the wheel. We had swerved into oncoming traffic.
"Woah, hey, Lily! The Wheel! We're going to crash!" I yelled out. This strange woman didn't seem to care.
"There, you and I are officially linked. Now then, your first mission is to build a team. I need you to gather the biggest, toughest, strongest monster girls you can find. Get as many as you can. Trust me, you're going to need them before that hellhound finds you."
"Umm… Lily, the Truck! There is a truck coming right at us! GRAB THE WHEEL!" The headlights grew brighter as the oncoming truck started honking his horn.
"Goodbye Cole. We'll meet again in due time." She never once broke eye contact with me.
"LILY!"
Right before the oncoming truck hit us, I woke up in a cold sweat on the same park bench I fell asleep on earlier. I looked around and it was still a quiet night. No signs of Smith, or Lily, or anyone.

The next day
Too bad for me, the park bench I was sleeping on face due east. This means the sun was shining right in my face. At least it was, until someone blocked it.
"Umm.. excuse me mister, could you please sleep somewhere else?" A man's voice spoke.
I opened my eyes and saw the silhouette of a woman standing over me. "Mmmm go away."
The woman poked me this time. "Please sir, my homestay and I would like to sit here and enjoy our breakfast."
This time I rubbed the crusts out of my eyes to get a better look at her. "Listen lady, I already told you i'm~woah!" I couldn't believe it. This woman had cat ears and a cat tail! She was standing next to some boring guy dressed in business casual.
"Holy shit, are you a real cat girl?" I stood up and started touching the woman's ears. Clearly her boyfriend did not like some homeless guy touching his girl, and I felt a right hook right in my jaw.
"Hey don't touch her you filthy bum! Now beat it before I call the cops!" Uh oh, time to go. I picked myself up off the ground and skirted off through the park.
As I walked around, I kept seeing similar pairs. Random guys walking around with all sorts of monster girls. Some dudes had centaurs, others had lamias, a few had cat girls, and one guy even had a mermaid! She was in a wheelchair, but I could see that fish tail poking out under her skirt.
"What the hell is going on?" I ran out of the park and headed down the street towards a diner. Once I was inside, I saw a TV that was playing a news show.
Hello and welcome back to good morning America! Our top story today is Monster Girls! That's right, these cute little ladies are the hot new sensation that's sweeping the nation. They come in all sorts of humanoid shapes and species, and all of them are dying to come stay here in America. Shortly after their discovery, there has been a massive influx of demi-human immigrants hoping to come to our country. In response to this crisis, congress has passed the Interspecies Exchange Act, which was quickly signed into law by the president.
The Interspecies Exchange Act gives the government more funding and oversight for the massive immigration of these demi-humans into the United States. Together, with cooperation from the DHS and FEMA, the president has created a new federal agency, the Federal Interspecies Residential Exchange, or FIRE for short. FIRE is responsible for screening potential host families to house these new Americans, and enforce the rules pertaining to housing them. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a host family, please head down to your nearest FIRE station and apply today!"
Yawn. What a waste of time. Why the hell would anyone do something like that?
Host families may qualify for benefits such as free housing, free transportation, free food and a monthly stipend.
*Neuron Activation*
"Hey, are you gonna buy something? The TV is for paying customers only!" Some greasy fat guy yelled at me from behind the cash register. I could not register anything he was saying at all. Instead, I ran out of that diner and trekked all over downtown until I found it.
The FIRE station.
Ironically enough, the building was an old fire station. The line was out the door and almost out to the end of the block. I must have waited in line for hours before I finally got to the front.
"Hi, I'd like to apply to be a host family." I spoke to the clerk. She was clearly not impressed by my dirty long hair and overgrown beard.
"Fill out this form and return to the front." She handed me a clipboard with a thick stack of papers. I took a pen and sat down in one of the chairs. The form had all sorts of questions. The first page was basic personal information, the other pages were very descriptive. Almost like a psychological evaluation.
"On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your fear of snakes?"
"Are you allergic to dog or cat hair?"
"Would you consider switching to a vegan diet?"
Obviously these were designed to weed out people for some of the more high maintenance species. The more I read through the application, the more I began to get discouraged that they would approve me. Especially the questions about household income, and caregiving skills.
After an hour, I finally completed the application. The lobby was still full of people, but I walked up to the counter and turned in the form.
"Thank you sir. Please have a seat and wait for your name to be called. Once your name is called, you will be escorted to the back for a one on one interview with an Interspecies Exchange Coordinator."
Sweet! I'm still in the hunt for a spot. All I have to do is sit here and wait for my name to get called.
*Six Hours Later*
The sun had gone down, and the lobby was totally empty. If I had a watch, I would have been able to see that it was a few minutes to closing.
"Hey! When are you guys going to call my name?" I yelled at the girl at the front counter.
"Sorry sir, but we're closed. Please come back tomorrow."
"Dammit. Alright then, if that's how you guys are gonna play, then I'll show you! I'll be here tomorrow right when you open those doors, and I'll sit here all day until my name is called. If not, then i'll come back the next day, and the day after that. You will give me my interview or so help me god!"
At this point she had already called security, so I left the building and walked to the park. As I walked down the street, I kept seeing couples walking together. Man and Woman, Man and monster girl, all of them seemed so happy together. It must have rained earlier, because there were puddles all over the sidewalk. Every now and then I would step in one. There was one puddle that was so deep that it cast a reflection. When I saw that man staring back at me again, I had to turn away. I hate looking at him. That man is not me. He will never be me. Someday, the man I should have been will return to this earth.
X
3 weeks later
Every single day, I was in that FIRE station. Waiting patiently for my name to be called. Every single day, they sent me home at closing when I was once again the last person waiting in the lobby. Most people had their name called after only an hour or two. I knew what they were doing. They were not going to break my spirit. I fought for this damn country, and survived torture. This was nothing. Goddammit, Cole Casey was not going to be defeated by government bureaucracy.
One day, my luck finally changed. There was a sexy government suit who came out from behind the counter that I had never seen before. She had long blonde hair tied in a bun and a tight skirt.
"Cole Casey?" Yes! My name was finally called. I shot up from my seat and ran to her.
"Yes, that's me!"
"Right this way sir." The two of us walked down the hall past a bunch of closed doors. It looked like a normal office with cubicles and a break room. We entered a small room with a table, some chairs, and window. She closed the door behind me as I took a seat.
"Alright Mr. Casey, let's get started. My name is Ms. Jones, and I will be your Interspecies Exchange Coordinator, should you be selected." She opened a manila folder and shuffled some paperwork.
"Well….. What do you think?" I asked after a long period of uncomfortable silence. She put the papers down and looked at me with disdain.
"What I think is that there is no way you are ever going to get approved to be a host family. Look Mr. Casey, the only reason i'm even doing this at all is because we are required by law to interview every applicant within 15 business days of receiving their application. Honestly we were hoping you would just give up and go away, but your stubborn ass kept showing up here sitting in the lobby every day."
"Damn right! I applied for the program and I expect to be treated equally just like every other person who applied."
"Sigh~well then let's talk about your application, shall we?" She pulled the forms out again. "You have no income, no permanent residence, no job, no family, and we couldn't pull your personal information from any government database. I'm sorry sir, but there is no way in hell that we are going to approve you to be a host family."
I sat there looking at the floor. There was no way that I was going to let this stupid government bitch ruin my one chance. I needed to think fast.
"Tell me Mr. Casey, why did you apply to be a host family? What does someone like you possibly hope to gain from this?"
Here we go. Time to put all my chips on the table. I'm going all in.
"Because…. Because I don't want to be alone anymore." Ms. Jones raised an eyebrow at me. Seems like I caught her attention. Good, lets keep going.
"You have no idea how lonely my life is. Everyday I wake up alone with nothing to do but survive one more day. Everyone who ever knew me thinks I'm dead. There is no home for me to go back to."
She was still listening. I looked up at her with moist eyes.
"All I want is to have a family again. To have someone in my life who cares about me. Someone who enjoys having me around, and wants me to be part of their life. I just…. I want to have a home….I want to belong somewhere."
Ms. Jones put my application back in the folder. "And what if you were to be given that home? What sort of people would you want with you?"
"I don't care! Give me your biggest, toughest, meanest girls. Give me the girls that everyone else rejected. Give me the girls that nobody else wanted. Give me all the girls who just want someone to accept them for who they are."
There was a moment of silence. Ms. Jones kept looking at me, then she stood up from her chair. "One moment please."
She left the room and closed the door behind her. I was sitting there alone, but I was still here! There was still a chance. Please god, if you're out there, please give me a break just this once.
Finally the door opened again. This time it was not Ms. Jones, but a different woman. She was very sexy, dressed in a business professional suit, but she looked familiar. Maybe it was her black hair. I'm not sure. She was wearing sunglasses, so I couldn't see her eyes.
"Hello Mr. Casey. My name is Ms. Smith. I'm the director of the FIRE for this city, and I heard about your interview from Interspecies Exchange Coordinator Jones. She said you were willing to take any girl, regardless of their species or background. Is that correct?"
I sat up from my chair "Absolutely!" Ms. Smith smiled. "I believe the words you used were, and I quote: Give me your biggest, toughest, meanest girls. Is that correct?"
"Yes Ma'am! I don't care who it is. I'll take 'em!"
Ms. Smith put my application on the table. "Listen Mr. Casey, I would never approve of you to be a host family in a million years, but you see, we're in a bit of a tricky situation. We have a few girls…. Six to be exact. They have been…. Well….. An issue for us. They have been kicked out of every home they were assigned to."
Uh oh, here comes the catch. "Why? What's wrong with them?"
"Nothing is wrong with them per se, but it's just that, people are a bit scared of them due to their species. You see, these girls are what you would call Apex Predators."
"Ahh I see. Most people who come here want a cute Neko or a Kobold or something like that."
Smith pointed a finger gun at me. "Bingo. However I assure you Mr. Casey, these girls are no different from the rest of our girls. They just want a home and a family. If you would take them in, then I'll approve your application."
Holy shit, this is it! My time has come!
"Ms. Smith, you got yourself a deal." I reached out and shook her hand.
"Glad to hear it. Welcome to the FIRE, Mr. Casey."

The next day
Ms. Smith was kind enough to pay for me to stay in a hotel last night. It wasn't the nicest place, but it sure beat sleeping on a park bench. She also paid for me to get a haircut and a shave. When I woke up in that hotel room, I stared at myself in the mirror after a nice hot shower. It's amazing how such basic grooming can totally change your appearance. No longer did I look like a homeless bum living on the streets. Now I looked like a respectable young man. I smiled at my reflection for the first time in years.
Today was going to be a great day! I put on a pair of clean clothes. Nothing fancy, just some jeans and a white t-shirt. However, the best part was the claim pair of boxer-briefs.
Never underestimate the power of clean underwear.
***Knock Knock Knock*** "Cole, it's Smith. Are you ready to go?" I heard a knock at my hotel room door.
"Yeah, one sec!" I took a few more seconds to comb my hair in the mirror. Man my hair looked so great!"
As I opened the door, Ms. Smith was waiting for me outside in the hallway. She was dressed in her usual black suite. "Wow, you sure clean up nice!" She lowered her sunglasses and gave me a little wink.
"Thanks. I can't remember the last time I looked this good."
"Well I'm glad. You'll need to look your best, because today you're going to meet your new homestay."
The two of us checked out of the hotel and walked outside into a black sedan. Smith took the driver's seat and I sat in the passenger. This must have been an old cop car or taxi, because there was a thick black screen blocking me from seeing the backseat.
"Hey Smith~"
"Miss Smith. Please address me properly."
"Right…. Hey Ms. Smith, you never told me who I was going to be paired up with." The Agent calmly reached into her purse and pulled out six manila folders.
"Here. These will be your new homestays. So far, only one of them will be living with you for the time being. The others are still being processed in our system."
"Gotta love government red tape."
Ms. Smith chuckled. "Hahaha preaching to the choir Cole." She took a sip of her coffee as I read through the first folder. It was a Lamia girl named Priya. There was some pretty basic information about her like height, weight, body measurements, and her exchange ID number.
"This first girl, Priya, what can you tell me about her?" I asked Ms. Smith as we kept driving along the highway.
"Priya is a sweet girl, albeit a bit shy. She doesn't talk much, at least not to anyone at FIRE anyway. Out of all of the girls in your home, she is the only one who was never once selected by any host family."
Woah, there is a gigantic red flag. There must be a good reason why she was never picked. Although, considering I am broke and homeless, it's not I am really in a position to be concerned.
"So you're saying all the other girls were picked except her? I wonder why…."
"You'll find out when you meet her. Just try to be polite and smile. I promise she's not nearly as bad as you think."
The car exited the highway and pulled into a quiet suburban neighborhood. It was a nice place. Plenty of big houses with green lawns and families just living their lives. The textbook definition of the American dream. The kind of place I always wanted to be.
"Alright, we're here." Ms. Smith pulled up to a good looking two story house with a detached garage behind it. The front lawn had a few big trees, and some fresh cut grass. There was a moving truck in the driveway.
We both got out of the car and walked through the front yard up to the door. Ms. Smith took some keys out of her jacket pocket and unlocked it.
"Wait here, I'll go first." She opened the door and walked inside. I stood outside for a little bit until Ms. Smith returned.
"Alright Mr. Casey, welcome to your new home! Come in and meet your new homestay." I walked inside to see a newly renovated house. The place was huge! It was way bigger on the inside. They renovated it so that the hallways were very wide, and the doors were wide too. There was also a huge staircase in the living room that looked like 4 people could walk up at once.
As I was admiring the house, I heard a low rumbling noise from the other room. It sounded like it was getting closer. Ms. Smith was looking at me with a blank expression through her sunglasses. What happened next took my breath away.
She crashed into the room like a freight train, an incredible tube of muscle slithering across the floor. Despite her size, she moved with the speed and grace of a dancer. No, that's not a good metaphor. She was no dancer, she was a predator. A monster approaching her dinner. Ready to pounce, and ready to kill. There was no furniture to give me cover, so I only stood there and watched as this giant snake dashed right up to me, then stood straight up.
Her tail must have shot up at least six feet in the air. I had to cock my head up to get a good look at her. Despite her size, she was gorgeous. She had a human face and human torso, complete with human arms. I never flinched, which seemed to spark her curiosity. She leaned forward a little bit. It was then that I was able to get a better look at her. She had long straight black hair with blonde highlights. Her golden eyes pierced through my very soul. I looked down at her arms to see them covered in thick scales past her elbows. Her hands were coated in razor sharp claws. However the most impressive thing about her was her enormous back muscles. Her Lats looked like Bruce Lee's. Seriously, this girl was a force to be reckoned with. Even in her yellow crop top and white skirt, she looked terrifying.
However, I remembered my Marine Corps training. First rule of combat is to never show fear. Once the enemy knows you are afraid of them, you have already lost.
"Mr. Casey, this is Priya. She is going to be your new homestay. Priya, this is Cole Casey. He is your new host family. Come down and say hello." Ms. Smith tried her best to be polite. I stood there with a calm expression, waiting for her to make the first move.
Priya lowered herself down to me, and stared closely. She was testing me, waiting for me to flinch, or break eye contact first. I knew this game. She was trying to establish dominance over me, like all predators do. Too bad for her, I had too much riding on this to bow down like that. Then she did something I never expected.
She flicked her tongue out at me. Then she did it again. I heard her grumbling before she finally spoke up.
