Summary (Work in Progress): A year after Luz fought Belos and destroyed the portal, a fifteen year old Luz wakes up with a large pain in her chest. She quickly learns why no Human is in the Boiling Isles.

Luz groaned in pain as Eda and Lilith kneel next to her.

"Hey, relax kid, just a few more minutes and we'll find out why you're in pain." Eda said.

"Eda... it hurts." Luz said.

"Don't worry, Luz, we'll be able to help as soon as we find out what the problem is."

There was a knock on the door, followed by a small scream as Hooty just had introduced himself. Eda looked at Lilith, who seemed to get the message and stood up.

"I'll get it." Lilith said.

Lilith walked to the door and opened it, seeing a girl with dark skin, long hair, and glasses, wearing black shoes, a white dress, black tights, and a black denim jacket. Lilith guessed it made sense

"Hello, little one, what can I do for you?" Lilith asked.

The girl picked up her glasses and put them back on. She calmed down a little and organized the papers in her hands.

"Hi, m-m-my name is Kat, I'm Luz's partner in the Healing Track. We have a project and she invited me over the other day to work on it." Kat said, "Is she here?"

"You said you're in the Healing Track?" Lilith asked.

"Yes, why? Is someone hurt?"

"In a way, yes. Follow me."

Kat just listened and followed her. They stopped outside of Luz's room and Lilith looked at the girl.

"Something is happening. We don't know what's going on, all I can say, I don't think you'll be working on that project."

Lilith opened the door and Kat saw Luz. She was the top student in the Healing Track, so she knew that something was very wrong. She practically shoved Eda out of the way and placed a hand on Luz's head.

"Okay, you don't have a fever, but you do feel a little cold."

Kat summoned a thermometer and tried to put it in Luz's mouth, which proved to be difficult because Luz was knocking her hand away.

"Luz, either you open your mouth, or I get a thermometer that goes in the other end." Kat said.

Luz grumbled but opened her mouth. Kat put it in and waited a few minutes. She pulled it out and looked at it.

"89.9 degrees. Not good, but not cause for too much worry." Kat looked at Lilith and Eda, "Get something to warm her up. What else are you experiencing, Luz?"

"M... my chest hurts." Luz said.

"Okay, I'll do what I can."

Kat put a hand on Luz's head and Luz's body started glowing blue. Her skin became see through and Kat looked around Luz's chest, looking for something in her bones or organs that's causing pain.

"Well, I don't see anything that could cause this. You were telling me that you were hit in the chest by a demon the other day, maybe that could be causing it." Kat closed her eyes and made a spell circle, "This should help ease the pain."

Luz started glowing again and closed her eyes.

"It'll also put you to sleep for a few hours."

Kat got up and left the room. She walked up to Lilith and Eda, who were carrying blankets, and started talking.

"You two were in the Potion Track, right?"

"Yeah, why?" Eda said.

"There's a liquid medicine that can help if the pain returns, but I don't know how to make a potion. I need one of you to help me with it."

"Alright, Edalyn, you take these to Luz and I'll help her make it."

Eda went into Luz's room while Lilith and Kat went downstairs. Little did anyone know, there was something causing Luz pain. Something was growing on her heart, something so small that Kat couldn't see it. They also didn't know, this was only the first problem, more was yet to come.
