Summary: I don't know yet.

No one knows how it started. The war between the two most popular nocturnal monsters. Vampires and Werewolves, natural enemies. Often called the Nocturnal War, the war has been going on for centuries. In the war room of the Vampire castle, the Vampire King, Cadell Bloodborne, his wife Camila, and his oldest daughter Heather as sat as he gave his troops a run down.

"I have almost located the Wolf Den. Once I find it, we'll take it and finally drive those Mutts out of our woods!" He said.

Cadell had fire in his voice. He had a reason to drive them out... wolves killed his first wife, Heather's mother. His little girl was only a month old when it happened. Ever since then, he vowed to defeat this plague known as werewolves. Remove it from the face of the planet. He looked at his family and noticed something, his younger daughter is missing.

"Where in Ambrose' name is Luz!?" He said.

In the woods, the moon in the sky as two figures moved through the woods. One, a vampire bat, flying as fast as possible to stay next to her running partner. Her partner, a medium size, light brown wolf. Both loved the company of each other, despite the risks. The wolf looked up at the bat and smiled.

"Try and keep up Luz!"

"I should be telling you that, Amity!" Luz said, flying to the ground.

Luz rolled on the ground and turned back to her normal form. She may be fast as a bat, but no one was faster than a vampire in a sprint. Amity was pretty close though. The two made it to the finish line, an old tree they carved their initials into. Amity turned back and laughed as she hugged Luz from behind. The two start laughing as they rolled on the ground. A vampire and Werewolf together? That would be treason in of itself, but the daughter of the King of Darkness, and the youngest cub of the Alpha and Beta Wolves, together? Should anyone find out, they would be cast out and sentenced to the worst punishment a vampire and werewolf could get. For a vampire it would be chained to the ground for sunrise, for a wolf it would be to drink melted silver, both are certain death. Amity and Luz laid in the grass, looking at the stars. It wasn't a Full Moon or a New Moon, it was just... a moon, so neither of them were more powerful than the other.

"Why do our species have to be at war?" Amity asked.

"I don't know, but I think it's stupid." Luz said, "I mean, dad always says that Werewolves are a mindless beast, a plague that causes suffering."

"My parents say the same thing about Vampires." Amity said, "But look at us, we've been friends for six years, and... girlfriends for two."

Luz and Amity grabbed each other's hands.

"Maybe one day we'll manage to live in peace." Luz said.

"That would be nice." Amity said, "Luz... do you ever just want to... run away?"

"Yeah, but... there's my family." Luz said.

"Same." Amity said, "They may be a pain, but they're my family and I can't just leave them. But... the war is getting worse, if anyone finds out about this-"

"Amity, if anyone even tries to hurt us, then we'll protect each other and if we have to... we'll find our own place to stay." Luz said, "We'll leave these woods, travel the world, settle down and get married. Maybe even have a litter of Were-Pires."

Amity giggled and kissed Luz's cheek.

"Oh, young loves, isn't it adorable?"

The two looked up and saw two Harpies, one with various shades of reds along with faded orange hair and wings, the other consisting of dark blues and blacks with dark blue hair and wings.

"Edalyn, why do you have to ruin the moment?" Lilith asked.

Eda and Lilith, the Clawthorne sisters. Children of the famous Dell and Gwendolyn Clawthorne, the rulers of their species. Eda was hired by Cadell to watch over Luz and Lilith was hired to by Alador and Odalia to watch over Amity.

"Come on kids, let's get you back to your homes." Lilith said, "Our excuses of hunting won't work forever."

Seeing as Harpies were not in the war, they had no problem with a vampire and werewolf being together. They were willing to keep their relationship a secret.

"Okay, goodbye Amity."

"Bye, Luz."

The two went their separate ways, praying that one day they won't have to hide their relationship.
