Tails here with Ch 5 of Fairy Tail's Devil of Light and Dark, I don't know why it was so quick to type, but I'm happy it was, it means I can get back to Black Flame quicker, I love both stories, though. I'm annoyed I have to reiterate this, it's an answer to a review I deleted, but right now this Ruby is very OOC, she's meant to not resemble Ruby personality in Cannon, this Ruby never got the assurance that she's perfect the way she was, from the cosmic blacksmith, and she's lost so many people because of other people who only care about themselves, that she's very cynical about the world, and is deadly protective of the things she does care about. She's not beyond making friends, she just doesn't actively do it, she actually tries to keep people at arm's length, so she doesn't feel the pain of loss again. RANT OVER.

We see Ruby laying in a bed in a tree-house, in another bed is Makarov, watching over both of them is a slim elderly woman with pink hair tied in a bun, wearing a red outfit, as well as Natsu. "I'm surprised you're willing to stay here and help me watch them, Natsu." She says, and he sighs.
"Porlyusica, I know that you know Ruby isn't the friendliest with the rest of the Guild, other than Macao, Romeo, Wakaba's daughter, Laxus, Gildarts and me, and that a lot of the guild, similarly don't like her. But they don't realize Ruby, very much cares about the Guild, including everyone in it, and a lot of the others can't see it, but I can, something in Ruby's past hurt her badly, but I don't know what that is." Natsu says, and she nods.
"How long have you known that?" Porlyusica asks, making him sigh again.
"I've known for a while, but I haven't said anything to her, because she disdains talking about her past for any reason, and I won't try to force it." He says, and she nods and smiles placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Wise, I just know Lisanna would be proud of how much you've grown, if she was still with us, now take Ruby back to the Guild, she's perfectly fine, just exhausted and resting from that last spell she used." She says, he nods, smiling sadly, and picking Ruby up and on to his back, not noticing her eyes twitch and open a bit, and grabbing her Uncle's Spear, that's leaning against the wall.
"What about Gramps?" He asks, and Porlyusica's eyes soften.
"Makarov is dealing with Magic Deficiency Disease, it's caused by a rapid loss of Magic." She says.
"Ia…" Ruby mumbles.
"Oh, you're awake already." Porlyusica says, a little surprised.
"And what'd you say?" Natsu asks.
"Ia…, Ria…, Aria." Ruby says, still exhausted.
"Aria? Oh, Aria of Phantom Lord, what about him?" He asks, but Ruby eyes close again and her head lays against his shoulder. "And back to sleep, I'll have to drop by Roman's for a Spell Lacrima for her. Later Porlyusica, take care of Gramps." He says, heading back into Magnolia, and to A Thieves Price.
"Oh, hello Natsu, what do you need…" Roman asks, when he sees Ruby. "What the bloody hell happened to Red?!" He asks, shocked.
"Let's just say Phantom Lord is finally giving into their jealousy, they attacked three of ours. Ruby used up a lot of her Magic in a spell, to let us get away. Do you have any Light or Shadow Spell Lacrima's?" Natsu asks, and Roman nods, pulling out two Lacrima. "How much?" He asks, and Roman shakes his head.
"On the house, Red's brought more business to my shop than I ever thought I'd get, plus she tends to overpay me anyway." Roman says, holding up a couple of diamonds, and Natsu nods, pocketing the Spell Lacrima.
"Thanks." Natsu says, leaving, and heading down into the basement of the Guild.
"Natsu, oh and you have Ruby as well, how is she?" Ur asks.
"She's fine, just exhausted, I got 2 Spell Lacrima for her to consume when she wakes up again. Mira, what do you know about the Phantom Lord member Aria?" He asks, walking over to a bed and laying Ruby down and setting the 2 Lacrima beside her on a nightstand.
"Aria, why do you want to know about him?" Mira asks.
"Porlyusica and I were talking about Gramps, she said he's suffering from Magic Deficiency, Ruby woke up long enough to say Aria's name, before she passed out again." Natsu explains, sitting in the chair, watching Ruby, and waiting for her to wake up again, and Mira sits at the makeshift bar for half an hour thinking about everything she knows about Phantom Lord, the Element 4, and Aria in particular, and her eyes widen, and she chuckles.
"Even when barely conscious, you show how intelligent you are, Ruby." She says.
"What's that mean?" Ur asks.
"I was going through all that I knew about Phantom Lord, the Element 4 and Aria, and Ruby was trying to point out Aria, being the cause of Master's condition, Aria's known to be able to Drain other Mages of their Magic." Mira explains.
"So that means, we need to be wary of Aria." Natsu mutters, shocking those who hear, then he looks at Ur's arms. "What's wrong with your arms?" He asks, seeing that her arms are still scaled and hands clawed.
"I don't know, they've been like this since this morning, when I saw those 3 stuck to the tree, I was hoping to ask Ruby, but…" Ur says, and Natsu nods.
"Shot in the Dark, Ruby said you're like a Pseudo Devil Slayer, do you feel much stronger than you usually would?" He asks, and she nods.
"Yeah, I feel a whole lot stronger than usual." She says, and he nods.
"You're probably tapping into Deliora's power, try cutting it off." He says, again shocking everyone, she closes her eyes, and feels her Magic, and feels another force within, that is gushing, and after a few minutes, she manages to stop it, and her arms return to normal.
"Thanks Natsu." She says, and he nods.
"Where's Gray?" He asks.
"He's back at his apartment, said he was going to think about that book he got from Ruby." Macao says, and Natsu leans back, staring at the ceiling.
(So is he really thinking about becoming a God Slayer?) Natsu wonders, when they hear creaking, and they all see Erza walk down with Lucy.
"You got her back!" A bunch of members yell, circling them, and after a few hours everyone is planning for when Phantom tries to get Lucy again, we see Mira at a large communication Lacrima talking to Laxus.
"So, you guys need my help, when Gramps is the one who got you into the mess in the first place, and you expect me to bail you all out?" Laxus asks, laughing.
"Not us, exactly, Phantom hurt Levy, Jet and Droy, cheap shotted Master, and even Ruby is in a bad condition, because of them." Mira says, knowing mentioning Ruby will get his attention.
"What happened to Ruby?!" He asks, and Mira can already see the rage in his eyes.
"After Master was drained, we needed to get him out, Erza ordered a retreat, Ruby acted as a distraction, using a Spell I've never seen before, she's been out since, though she woke up long enough to tell Natsu Aria was behind the draining." Mira explains.
"That stupid idiot…" He says, obviously not happy, when Mira hears a cracking sound and the lacrima goes staticy.
"I don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign." She mutters.
"Neither do I, but he's definitely on the way." Erza says, walking up, but she and Cana see Mira tearing up.
"What's wrong Mira?" Cana asks.
"I'm going to fight, I have to do something, Lucy was kidnapped even though I was here." Mira says, but Cana puts her hand on her shoulder.
"I really don't want to say it, but you'd just get in the way, as you are right now." Cana says.
"Cana!" Erza yell's, angry.
"So you think I'm useless and a failure, just like Ruby." Mira says, looking down.
"No no no, that's not…" Cana tries to say when they all hear an echoing thud sound, and the entire town starts to shake.
"It's them!" Natsu yells, and everyone runs out of the Guild basement and see another Phantom Lord Guild Hall, that has 6 giant mechanical legs, then the front of the Guild, lowers down showing a giant cannon.
"A Jupiter Cannon!" Mira yells, and everyone freaks, when the cannon starts to glow, releasing a blast of magic.
"Everyone, get down!" Erza yells, rushing forward glowing, when the glow dies down she's wearing a bulky set of dark blue and silver armor, with half of a shield plate connected to both arms, that she slams together, creating a giant aqua green magic barrier. But also everyone sees a giant, white magic barrier, but it seems the magic blast passes right through it, then they all notice once it passes through the white barrier, it's broken down into little cubes that are fizzling away, so the bit of blast that does hit Erza's barrier, barely does anything. Everyone including Erza looks over to Natsu, and sees him holding a glowing white hand out, with a look of deep concentration on his face. "Good job Natsu." She says, and he nods.
"I don't know how you stopped that blast, but it won't happen again, you have 15 minutes, until the Jupiter Cannon is ready to fire again! Now hand over Lucy Heartfillia!" A man they all know to be Jose Porla, yells.
"Tch, monologue, monologue, monologue." Natsu says annoyed, pulling his arms back, both hands radiating Crash Magic. "Take this, Crushing Wrath!" He yells, throwing his hands forward creating a large,white Magic Circle, releasing a giant, white magic beam from it, the beam envelops the Jupiter Cannon and even goes all the way through the Guild, but an interesting effect is that the entire Guild faintly glows white, causing different parts of the building, to blow apart from the Guild, and the Jupiter Cannon, is barely worth being called scrap.
"What!?" Jose screams.
"Let's go, we might not even need Ruby, Laxus, or Gramps. Happy take me over." Natsu says, and Happy nods, grabbing him and flying over to the destroyed Guild, then weird ghost like apparitions start flying out of the Guild, towards the Fairy Tail members on the cliff.
"What the heck, I thought Flame-Brain hasn't been learning that Magic for very long, that spell seems pretty advanced." Gray says, running towards the cliff, that the Guild is on.
"Who cares right now, Gray lets go." Ur says. "Ice-Make : Bridge!" She chants, slamming her hands on the cliffside, creating a bridge from the cliff to the destroyed Guild, and Her, Gray, Eflfman and Erza run across it to Phantom Lord.
"Ur, have you noticed all your ice has been a Dark Blue instead of the normal color they used to be?" Gray asks, and she nods.
"Yeah, but it's probably an effect of Deliora's power." She says.
"Serious Natsu is scary." Lucy says.
"You're saying it, that's something I never thought we'd see, he really reminds me of Master when he truly gets enraged." Wakaba says, shuddering dodging a ghost.
"Lucy, can you go back to the basement to keep an eye on Ruby?" Mirajane asks. Lucy nods reluctantly, since everyone else is now fighting the ghosts, Gray, Ur, Elfman and Erza get across the Ice Bridge, and jump into a destroyed room, they can tell was housing the power source for the Jupiter Cannon, from all of the chunks of Lacrima.
"Seriously, Flame-Brain, that had to have been an advanced spell." Gray says, but sighs. (I hate that you surpassed me this much, but I wish Lisanna's Life wasn't the reason you got this strong.) He thinks sadly, when Ur grabs ahold of his arm, pulling him back, keeping from being crisped by flames that are rainbow colored.
"I will not let the 4 of you pass any further." A man says, he has dual-toned black and white hair, tied in a japanese top-knot, black eyes, wearing an orange-reddish karate-gi with a red furred collar held closed by a black belt, loose, black pants tucked in black boots. Then he's enveloped in dark blue ice.
"You 3 head on forward, I'll handle this little punk." Ur says.
"But…" Gray says.
"Don't question your teacher Gray, Go!" Ur yells, and Erza grabs Gray, tugging him along with her and Elfman, and after a few minutes the ice melts, and the guy jumps at her, with an unsheathed katana. "Ice-Make : Rapier!" She yells, creating a rapier which she thrusts, catching him off-guard with her speed, and with a flick of the wrist disarms the guy. "So who are you?" She asks.
"You don't know who I am, I guess that's why an Ice Mage would be stupid enough to challenge me. My name is Totomaru, the Great Flame of the Element 4." The now introduced Totomaru says.
(Definitely an Ego, like I don't know how to deal with Fire Mages.) She thinks, mildly annoyed, rushing at him thrusting the rapier, almost skewering him several times, when she tosses the rapier in the air. "Ice-Make : Python, Ice-Make : Warhammer!" She yells, in a maker stance, creating a large python, that slithers and coils around Totomaru, squeezing him, then she creates a warhammer, that she slams into his side, shattering the python, and probably a few ribs, if the cracking she heard was any indication. She then catches the rapier, and waits for him to get up and see what he's going to do.
"H-How." He mutters, getting up and spitting up blood, holding his side. "Red Fire!" He chants, throwing a few balls of red fire at her, she stabs the rapier into the floor.
"Ice Make : Wall!" She yells, creating a dark blue wall in front of her, and grabbing the rapier.
"I'm the Master of Fire, do you think simple Ice can stop my red fire, it's the hottest I can create." Totomaru says confidently, but is shocked when the fireballs hit the walls, it's barely even melted.
"You shouldn't act so high and mighty, if you were fighting Natsu, I'm sure you'd be in for a rude awakening." Ur says, appearing in front of him, again showing off her speed, and thrusting multiple times, nicking him multiple times, she then kicks him. "So this is what passes for S-Class in Phantom Lord, you aren't even close to Mirajane or Erza.
"How would you even know that, aren't you new, and Mirajane doesn't even fight." He says.
"I am new, yes, but I can feel Mirajane's power, even suppressed as it is, and I've heard stories from the others, about her and Erza, and don't get me started about Ruby, she killed a Demon that had undoubtedly killed thousands if not millions, relatively easily. Speaking of the Demon, maybe I should stop holding back." She says, releasing Deliora's power, as her arms go back to being scaled and hands clawed, and even the rapier becomes an even darker blue. She then appears in front of him, thrusting the rapier even faster, this time she pierces with each thrust, hitting non-vital but painful spots, which forces him to the ground, and unable to move from the pain, she puts her other hand on him, encasing all but his head in ice. "Now, you be a good boy, and stay there, would you." She chuckles, restricting Deliora's power again, returning to normal, and running to find the others. With Erza, Elfman and Gray, they separate at a crossroad in the hall, and after a few minutes, each of them is stopped by a person.
"Aria of the Great Sky." Erza says, looking at a massive man, he's wearing a green coat, yellow shirt, loose pair of pants, a green top hat and a blindfold. Elfman is looking at a slim man, he has green hair, and black eyes, he's wearing a brown suit. While Gray is looking at a girl, she's 18, has blue hair and dark blue eyes, wearing a sapphire blue coat, a cream colored fur trimmed navy blue shawl with a pure white teru teru bozu attached to it, as well as a matching cossack hat.
Back with Fairy Tail's other members Cana and Mira are talking with each other, as cana is throwing different card at the ghosts, and looking back at Mira who's hiding behind her. "Are you sure telling Lucy to go to the basement was a good idea, since Phantom is after her?" Cana asks.
"Yes, the rest of us can handle anyone they send to try and capture her, aside from Jose himself, since with those 4 in their, the Element 4 will be busy dealing with them, even if I don't think Elfman can handle this, I'll defer to your confidence." Mira says.
"What about Black Steel, I don't think we can handle him, even with all of us, and deal with these shades." Cana says, and sees a pensive look appear on Mira's face. "What?" She asks.
"That's what I'm afraid of, not that Black Steel will come, Natsu is going for him…" Mira says, but is interrupted before she can finish.
"Then that's good, I don't think Black Steel can beat Natsu, especially if he's angry." Cana says.
"That's what I'm afraid of though." Mira says.
"What do you mean?" Macao asks, dodging a shade, and retaliating with a purple flame wall.
"None of us have ever seen Natsu as angry as he is right now, it looks like he's angry as we've seen, but he's suppressing a lot that he's feeling, I could sense this odd bloodlust from him, but it's his magic that I'm worried about." Mira says.
"What?" Cana asks, confused.
"There's a darkness to his magic, but I know this darkness well, there's a Demonic tinge to his Magic right now." Mira explains, shocking them, when they all feel 2 pulses of Magic from the basement, hear Lucy scream, then a massive burst of Magic.
"Looks like Ruby's awake." Macao says, and everyone's confidence is bolstered, by the thought, and after a few minutes, all of the shades are pulled towards the Guild Hall, everyone is shocked to see Ruby consume the shades, Ruby then walks through the crowd, and across the Ice-Bridge.
"Wait Ruby." Cana says.
"What do you want, failure?" Ruby asks, aggressively, scaring her a bit.
"Well, you're pretty chummy with Natsu, Mira's sensing Demonic power in his Magic, do you know what that is?" Cana asks, and Ruby's brow raises, she then continues to walk across the bridge, ignoring them.
"So the Demon's awake, is it." Ruby mutters, before smirking. "May the God's help you Black Steel, that's the only way you're surviving the END." She chuckles, getting in and seeing Totomaru, then she comes to the cross road and decides on a path, and after a few minutes, she steps into a hallway, with Elfman fighting the guy in a brown suit. (Sol of the Land, huh.) She thinks, watching them for a few minutes. She's angered by Sol using the clay form of Lisanna to mess with Elfman, and was almost proud of Elfman trying to push past the trauma of Lisanna's death. Ruby sighs and holds her hand out, at Elfman. "Demonic Illusion : Nightmare." She whispers.
"What's going on?" Elfman wonders, as the world goes black, then when he can see again, he's in a graveyard, and it's just him and Markarov.
"I'm sorry, my child." Makarov says, solemnly and walking away.
(What?) Elfman thinks, then he looks and sees 2 graves, he's sad seeing the grave for Lisanna, but then his heart drops seeing the other grave. "Big sis? No…, no, no, no, this can't… this can't be happening!" He Screams, falling to the ground, when he hears a voice it sounds a lot like Ruby, but with a dark, demonic edge to it.
"This is what's inevitably in store for you and Mirajane, unless you both push past your trauma, you have the power to stop this, you just need to let go and embrace the power you took." The voice says.
"But, that power could kill again!" Elfman yells.
"You Brainless Oaf, you have too much Willpower for that Beast to control you now, and what's the use of not using a power that can help protect those you love, what's the use of self control, when it ends up causing you to be too weak to protect anything!" The voice roars, and his vision goes back to Sol, and something in Elfman snaps, as his magic explodes terrifying Sol.
"Non, non, non, if you do that you'll just lose control." Sol smirks.
"I don't care, I'll give my life, my very soul, to protect all that's important to me!" Elfman roars, as his body glows, growing in size quite a bit, he arms lengthen and fingers turning to claws, growing dark red fur across his body, except for the chest and abdominal muscles, which stand out because of now pale green skin, his feet become hooves, a gold plate on his forehead that sprouts out 2 horns, there are similar horns growing out of his shoulders, and he's wearing a pair of blue pants. Elfman roars, rushing at Sol and with a single swing of his fist launches Sol though the Guild walls and out of the Guild, into the town.
(That roar probably scared the ever-living hell out of Mirajane.) Ruby thinks, chuckling which gets Elfman's attention, he looks at her with wide eyes, transforming back to normal.
"How long have you been there Ruby?" He asks.
"Just before Sol, started to make those Clay look-alikes of Lisanna." Ruby says, walking away. Back at the Guild, we see Mira fall to the ground in fear.
"What's wrong Mira?!" Lucy yells, running over.
"Th-That roar, that's the same roar, from back then!" Mira mutters, terrified.
"Are you saying Elfman used a Full-Body Take-Over!" Cana yells, shocked.
"Considering Ruby went in a few minutes ago, this has her written all over it." Macao sighs.
"What do you mean? Cana asks.
"Well, you of course know of Ruby's disdain of Mira, refusing to give up blaming Mira for Lisanna's death. But unlike Natsu who blames both Mira and Elfman, Ruby never once blamed Elfman, she's actually felt bad for him, with the Beast using his body to Kill Lisanna, she considers it the worst form of suffering and torture. I imagine Ruby pushed Elfman past his trauma somehow." He explains, shocking them, as more shades come out of Phantom Lord, and attacking the Guild members again but also attacking the Guild itself, destroying it. Back with Natsu and Happy, we see them flying, and they're over a corner of the Phantom Lord's Guild, when they hear the roar.
"What the hell was that, tch, doesn't matter, drop me Happy, Gajeel is in there, and go back to Mira, I don't want you getting caught up in any of this." Natsu orders, and the tips of his finger return to being red and clawed.
"But…" Happy says, hesitantly.
"Do it, now!" Natsu screams, and Happy nods, reluctantly, dropping Natsu, and Natsu punches through the ceiling getting the attention of Gajeel and a few others, the rubble from the ceiling takes out the small fry.
"Ah Salamander, I was about to leave to capture that Lucy girl again, but it's nice to see you again." Gajeel jokes, only to dodge a fist coated in white magic, hitting the wall, blowing out the entire corner.
"GAJEEL!" Natsu roars, rushing at him. "Fire Dragon's Claw, Crushing Fang, Grip Strike, Absolute Fist!" He yells, kicking Gajeel in the stomach, slamming down his fingers, that are engulfed in flames, then he grabs Gajeel by the face and slams him into the ground, releasing flames from his palm creating a pillar of flames around the two, when that dies down the small fry see his fist glowing white again, which he slams into Gajeel, caving in the floor.
"He, he's manhandling Gajeel!?" One yells, shocked, as Natsu jumps down the hole.
"Come here, Gajeel, you're going to pay for everything you've done!" Natsu roars.
"Like I'm going to let you beat me!" Gajeel yells, getting up as Natsu is stalking towards him. "What's with your hands, and your… left eye?" He asks, confused seeing the completely red, clawed hands, and Natsu's left eye is now purple.
"Beat you, no I'm going to rip you apart!" Natsu growls, menacingly as his magic erupts a mix of fire, white, and purple, but the purple part actually disturbs Gajeel, and the red on his hands, spread a little past the wrist.
(What is this, I've never fought someone with such disturbing Magic?) Gajeel thinks, when Natsu appears in front of him.
"Fire Dragon's Absolute Fist!" Natsu yells, swinging an inflamed fist as the fist within is also glowing white.
"Iron Dragon's Hard Fist!" Gajeel yells back, as his body turns to iron, and the 2 fists meet, but shocking Gajeel and those watching, the iron on his fist, arm and shoulder crack quite a lot, and Gajeel is launched back through an iron door, knocking it off the hinges.
"How did he break Gajeels Iron Dragon Scales so easily!?" Those watching yell, and Natsu is stalking towards Gajeel when he hears crunching, and sees Gajeel actually eating the door, it shocks him enough that the red on his hand recedes back down to half his hand and his left eye returns to normal.
"He, he's eating a door." Natsu says, shocked, only for Gajeel to appear in front of him, slugging him and throwing Natsu across the room, then punches at him again, but this time it extends out as a club, slamming into Natsu's Gut, making him spit up blood.
"The Sky isn't big enough for 2 Dragons, or should I say 3." Gajeel chuckles, but his arm is thrown to the side, and he reverts it back to his hand though still armored.
"So you've heard those rumors as well, if so you realize the Sky Maiden is only a kid, right!" Natsu says, getting up.
"Who cares, the brat shouldn't have learned Dragon Slayer Magic, if she didn't want to be hunted by her superior!" Gajeel cackles.
(That's it!) Natsu thinks, enraged beyond anything he's ever felt, as the red on his hands extends up to his elbows, and both of his eyes turn purple, then he takes out the Lacrima Ruby gave him. (The magic essence of a Fire Devil, huh.) He thinks, crushing the Lacrima, and the area erupts in pink flames, Gajeel looks and only sees 2 purple orbs showing through the pink.
"I don't know what this is, but it won't help you, trash." Gajeel says, then he hears slurping. "What, those are flames?!" He yells, surprised, when the Devil flames are gone, Natsu's Magic skyrockets, and what Gajeel sees terrifies him, Natsu's left eye is still purple, his right is now a dark gold, and both are slit like a reptile, and across his body are patches of scales. "No way, it, it can't be!" He says, shocked and terrified, when Natsu appears in front of him, Gajeel spits up a lot of blood, as Natsu's fist is lodged into Gajeel's stomach, shattering the iron scales.
"You would dare go after a kid who has nothing to do with this, you're going to regret opening your mouth, trash!" Natsu seethes, uppercutting Gajeel sending him back through the floor above. Ruby looks in Natsu's direction, when he crushed the Lacrima and chuckles, gaining Elfman's attention.
"What?" Elfman asks.
"It seems, after I deal with Jose, we're going to have to reign in Natsu, before he kills Black Steel, given I could care less about Black Steel, I'd rather not lose one of the few people I get along with in the Guild." Ruby says, shocking Elfman.
"This is Natsu, we're talking about, he wouldn't…" Elfman goes to say, but is interrupted.
"Elfman don't speak about Natsu, when you don't know how we Slayers are, all Slayers are trained to have a different mentality to killing than normal humans, the only reason Natsu hasn't killed anyone, INCLUDING you and Mirajane, is in respect to Makarov's rule of no killing and because Lisanna didn't approve of it either. But right now, we're not dealing with Natsu." She says, shocking and confusing Elfman.
"What do you mean we're not dealing with Natsu right now?" He asks.
"Your sister finally sensed something I've known about for a while, Natsu has a Demon inside of him, and that's no metaphor, Natsu has a literal Demon in him, and a powerful one at that." She says, shocking him, they continue on ahead, and after another few minutes they come to a room and see Gray, unconscious, Ur and Erza fighting a Jose, he has dark red hair tied in high pony-tail and a thin mustache, green eyes while the sclera is black, he's wearing a blue militaristic coat, with a Wizard Saint Medallion tied at the neck area. The two are actually giving him trouble, especially Ur, even then Ruby's marks appear as she takes a Maker Stance. "Demon Hunter : Chains." She says, throwing her hands out, as links of dark and bright pink chains rush from them, and surround him and are pulled taut, she pulls with a lot of effort slamming him into a wall. "Take this Jose, Enlightened Shadow Devil's Rage!" She yells, as her marks glow, and she releases a beam of dark and bright pink magic from her mouth.
"Ruby, you're awake." Both Ur and Erza say, and she walks towards the dust cloud.
"You two, stand back, I'll deal with this." Ruby says, as the dust cloud blows away, and Jose is standing there, scuffed up and angry.
"Well, well, if it isn't the Demon Fairy." Jose says.
"And if it isn't Jose, still angry your Guild's always been in the shadow of Fairy Tail, or is it more the fact that Master Mavis embarrassed your grandfather multiple times." She snarks back, angering him.
"You uppity little upstart brat! Dead Wave!" He rages, releasing a purple blast of Magic at her, the blast seems to hit her, making Jose smirk, but then they all hear slurping as Ruby consumes the spell. "What!?" He screams shocked and angered, he sweeps his hand covering the entire room with the same blast of Magic, but again Ruby consumes all of the blast. "H-How?!" He yells.
"I may not be the level of a Wizard Saint, Jose, but I'm the worst possible opponent you could face, as you know Slayers can consume any spell of their Magic, Light and Shadow Magic for me, but as a Devil Slayer I can consume any type of Dark Magic, and Dark Magic is all you know." She says, shocking him, and her body glows bright pink, and he manages to dodge a flurry of Enlightened Shadow Devil's Curse fists and Hex Crushes, and punches at her, only for it to not really phase her. "You shouldn't try a physical fight, everyone knows the only reason you're considered the same level as Master Makarov is because of your Magical ability, and many know your physical ability is sorely lacking." She says, knocking him back with a kick to the stomach.
"Th-That hurt, how, you're not even as strong as Laxus, let alone Makarov!" He yells, angry.
"It's simple really, attacking my Guild was a big mistake." Ruby says, requipping a dark pink Lacrima. "I'll show you something worth everything you've done." She says, crushing the Lacrima, and the entire room is bathed in dark pink…
"Shadows?" Ur says.
"How is this possible, that was no Spell Lacrima, this is raw Shadow Magic!" Jose yells, when they hear slurping, once Ruby's consumed all of the Shadow Magic, her Magic skyrockets, surpassing Ur and even Jose.
"Raw Shadow Devil Magic from my Aunt's own Magic reserves, a gift from her." Ruby says, as her red Magic Aura explodes around her, so much that she's obscured from view, after a minute the aura dissipates, revealing her, and shocking everyone, and terrifying Jose. Ruby now has 2 nubs of horns grown out of her forehead, 10 small wings, 5 on both sides of her back, the right wings are fluffy, white bird-like wings, while the left are leathery, black bat-like wings, her Sclera are black while her iris and pupil are pink, her hair is spiked up, the normally black part of her hair is white and the red tips are now blue, as blue lightning is crackling around her.
"What is this!?" He yells, as Ruby is looking at herself, poking the budding horns and feeling the wings.
"Oh this, this is Devil's Fury, the Devil Slayer equivalent of Dragonforce, which Natsu's in right now, probably tearing Black Steel Limb from Limb." Ruby says, casually, as she appears in front of Jose, kneeing him in the stomach, making him spit up blood. "Which, Fury, is exactly what I'm feeling right now." She says, headbutting him, breaking his nose. "Enlightened Shadow Devil's Curse Fist, Hex Crush, Ripping Whip, Maledictive Crash!" She yells, slamming a glowing pink fist into his back, forcing him down, but kicks a glowing pink foot into his stomach launching him up, then she creates a pink whip that she wraps around him, using it to slam him into the ground, where she slams a palm on him, releasing an explosion of pink, she jumps back and he wobbles up. "Demon Hunter : Greatsword, Floor, Spikes, Great Hammer!" She yells, creating a greatsword, that she slams, creating a large gash down his chest, then she slams her hands on the floor, which glows pink, then spikes erupt upwards, ripping into his legs and hands, then she creates a giant hammer, slamming him onto the ground and a few spike before they break, she then holds a hand up.
"Ruby, I think that's going too far!" Erza yells.
"Light and Shadows Together… Light of Azazel… Shadows of Empusa… Eclipse of Bakunawa!" Ruby chants, throwing a large pink orb, halfway to him, a bolt of yellow Lightning strikes it, sending it careening into the sky, where it explodes, bathing the entire town of Magnolia in pink.
"Alright, I gotta stop you there, Ruby, I'd prefer if you didn't get Excommunicated, even if it is for putting this trash in his place." They hear Laxus, and something they notice is, like Ruby has the yellow lightning bolt pendant necklace, he's wearing a red rose pendant necklace.
"Oh, what are you doing here, Laxus?" She asks, only for Laxus to hit her over the head.
"I came, because Mira told me you were unconscious after using your Thunder Leviathan : Kirin, what were you thinking, you only just perfected that spell a week ago, it still takes far too much of your magic to use!" He yells, and finally takes notice of her changed appearance. "Why the hell do you look like this, and your Magic has even surpassed mine." He says.
"It's Devil's Fury, the Devil Slayer equivalent of Dragonforce." She says, and he nods.
"Who's that?" Ur asks, walking over to Erza.
"That's Laxus, another of our S-Classes, and the 2nd strongest of our S-Classes, also Master Makarov's Grandson." Erza explains.
"Oh, this is odd, this is the first time I've seen Ruby, genuinely friendly with anyone in the Guild." Ur says.
"Yeah, while Ruby may get along with a few in the Guild, Laxus is the only one she considers a friend, there was another, but she died 2 years ago." Erza says, sadly, when she notices Ruby walking away. "Where are you going?" She asks Ruby.
"To stop Natsu from killing Black Steel, I have a feeling that he's berserk right now." Ruby says, when Aria stumbles in.
"You're not going anywhere." Aria says, only for something to slam into his back knocking him out again, they all see that it's Gajeel and shocking Erza, Ur, Elfman and Gray whose finally conscious again, he's covered in bruises, his arms and legs are bent in ways they definitely shouldn't be, he's covered in burns, and he's completely unconscious, when they all hear a growly, demonic snarl.
"GAJEEL!" Natsu snarls, and they all feel his Magic, and the darkness only Ruby has ever felt from him.
"N-Natsu!?" Erza says, shocked.
"Yo, Datsu." Ruby greets.
"What?" Gray asks.
"Datsu, it means Demon Natsu, Natsu has a Demon inside of him, but that Demon thinks of itself as Natsu as well, so I just call it Datsu, not very creative but I don't care. Hey Datsu, it's time you go back to sleep, Gajeel is defeated, Jose's defeated, don't make me harm that body." She says, and Datsu looks at her.
"I WILL NOT REST TILL THAT TRASH IS ASHES!" Datsu roars, as his magic erupts, shocking them it's currently equal to Laxus, and the flames he's emitting are crimson, but Ruby sighs.
"Enlightened Shadow Devil's Curse Fist, Hex Crush, Ripping Whip, Maledictive Crash, Rage!" Ruby yells, appearing in front of him, slamming her fist into his stomach, making him double over in pain, she then kicks him in the stomach, pushing him back as a rope of Magic, tangles tightly around him, and she pulls him toward her, headbutting him, then grabbing his face, releasing a blast of magic launching him back, and finally releases a pink beam from her mouth again, when the dust cloud that was kicked up from her Breath Spell clears, Datsu is covered in bruises, and snarling.
"I WILL NOT BE BEATEN, I WILL NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP, AND I WON'T LET THAT IDIOT BACK IN CONTROL AND LOCK ME AWAY!" Datsu snarls, Ruby steps forward to fight again, when she gasps, and her Magic plummets as she returns to normal, and falls to the ground drained.
"Ruby!" Elfman yells, when Datsu looks at him, and they see him, for some reason, become even more enraged.
(This doesn't bode well.) Ruby, Laxus, Erza and Gray think.
"YOU, IT'S YOUR FAULT, SHE'S GONE BECAUSE OF YOU!" Datsu screams, rushing at Elfman, when a yellow Magic Circle appears over him, releasing a beam of light down on him, when the Light Spell is finished, Natsu is unconscious and completely back to normal.
"It's about time you woke up, old man." Laxus says, as Makarov walks in.
"Well, I couldn't let Ur and all you kids face Jose alone, but it seems, I wasn't needed, not completely anyway." Makarov says, looking at Natsu then at Ruby. "Ruby, you have some explaining to do, about knowing about the Demon in Natsu and not saying anything." He says.
"Old man, I never said anything, because the other times Datsu woke up he never acted like that." Ruby says.
"What do you mean, he didn't act like that?" Gray asks.
"I mean he didn't act like that, the other times he woke up, Datsu acted pretty-much like Natsu, just much less naive, much more chill and smarter than Natsu usually acts. I think all the negative feelings Natsu was dealing with during this entire debacle, messed with Datsu, since the only times I saw him get remotely aggressive were when Mirajane and Elfman were brought up." She explains. "Now, I hate to say this, but can someone help me up, I can barely move my arms, much less the rest of my body." She says, annoyed with herself, and Erza nods, putting Ruby on her back. (Damn it, Armored Freak, this is utterly embarrassing!) "Take me over to Natsu?" She says.
"Why?" Erza asks.
"Just, just do it." Ruby says, and they all can see her exhaustion, in that sentence, and Erza walks over to Natsu, and in a gold glow, the spear of Lucifer appears in Ruby's hand, with the blunt end on Natsu's chest. "Wph hrl dlaej fmsc he ibllw." She says, and Natsu glows, and they all feel the darkness and malevolence disappear.
"What'd you do?" Ur asks.
"I put Datsu back to sleep, by the time he wakes back up, Natsu should be in a state where Datsu isn't like that." Ruby says, as the spear disappears, and they see her head hit Erza's shoulder.
"And she's asleep again." Erza says, smiling slightly.
"What are you smiling about?" Gray asks.
"It's just, Gray, you know how she acts most of the time, when she's asleep she looks like any other teenager, not like she's one of the strongest in our Guild." She says, and Gray, Elfman, Ur and Makarov nod.
"You're lucky Ruby's exhausted and asleep, Titania, or she'd choke you for saying that." Laxus says, walking away, Ur slings Natsu over her shoulder, and they all follow after him.
