Tails here with chapter 6, I know I said I'd work on Black Flame Ruby, but I was having some heavy Writer's Block, hopefully it's gone. Now this chapter is some of the aftermath of Phantom's attack, but more a wind-down chapter. Now big question, how should I handle Tower of Heaven Arc, I've had no plan for Ruby to be involved in it, but with the differences to Natsu, the Tower would be very different. I just don't see a reason to type an Arc when Ruby's not in it, but I feel like it'd be different enough, that I have to.

Ruby wakes up in her room at Macao's home, she gets up and yawns, then notices she's still in the same outfit from the debacle with Phantom Lord, making her click her tongue, as she glows, requipping an undamaged set. (Of all people, I'd think the Armored Freak would've changed me into pajamas or an undamaged set of my clothes.) She thinks, going down to the first floor and seeing it's the afternoon, she goes into the leather pouch pulling out the crystal ball with Summer's soul in it. "Mom, how long was I out?" She asks.
"Oh, uhm, almost a week." Summer says, and Ruby just hums.
"I didn't expect Devil's Fury to knock me out, for that long." Ruby says, surprising Summer a bit.
"Wait, you were expecting it to knock you out?" Summer asks, surprised.
"Of course, Devil's Fury, Dragonforce… and God's Apex, are very draining and harsh on Slayers, during the first few uses." Ruby explains, pausing a little bit to remember the God Slayer equivalent.
"Oh, wait, what was that third one?!" Summer asks, shocked.
"Oh, God's Apex, as I've said before, to Makarov and Laxus, I don't know much about God Slayer Magic, but the Enhanced State like Dragonforce and Devil's Fury is one of the 2 things I do know of." Ruby says.
"Oh, what's the other thing?" Summer ask's, curious.
"The counterpart of a Devil Slayer's Rage and a Dragon Slayer's Roar, the God Slayer's Bellow." Ruby explains.
"Interesting, speaking of God Slayer Magic, do you think Gray will really use that book you gave him?" Summer asks.
"No clue, Gray is stubborn, more so than Natsu at times, if he does, Ur will probably have a hand in it." Ruby says, and Summer then sighs.
"You know, the rest of the guild has been worried about you, you know, since you've been out for so long." Summer says.
"And? They have no reason to be worried, they know I can handle myself, and it's not like most of them have shown me a lot of care before." Ruby says.
"Ruby, you've been unconscious for nearly a week, after fighting not only a Guild Master, but a Wizard Saint as well, S-Class or not, that is a feat all its own." Summer says, and Ruby scoffs, placing Summer back in the pouch she keeps her in. "Even Laxus said he was impressed." She says before being put in the pouch, and Ruby smiles, leaving the house, once she gets to the guild she notices how far they've already rebuilt the Guild.
"Ruby!" Many of the Guild members yell seeing her, catching her off guard
"Ruby, you're awake!" Natsu yells, running up, and Ruby leans in.
"Nobodies been treating you any differently have they?" She asks.
"No, no one's treated me differently." He says, knowing why she's asking.
"Hello Rose, it's about time you woke up." She hears, and looks over to see a man, he has messy, blue hair, dark green eyes, with an odd red tattoo under his right eye, he's wearing a long white frock coat with black accents, over a dark shirt with matching pants and shoes, there is also a medallion at the base of his neck, it is blue with a silver plus style cross on it.
"Hello Councilman Siegrain, to what do we owe the pleasure?" Ruby asks, and Siegrain chuckles.
"Please, pleasures all mine, I'm here on Business for the Council." Siegrain says.
"Is this about the battle between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord?" She asks.
"Nope, my business involves you." He says, smirking, surprising Ruby.
"Me?" She asks, honestly shocked.
"Yes, it involves your defeat of Jose." He says, shocking everyone, cause that alone, shows what's really going on.
"Are you saying Ruby is being considered for the title of Wizard Saint?!" Cana yells.
"That's exactly right, now that you're awake, we can head out immediately." He says.
"Is it alright if someone else comes with us?" Ruby asks.
"Guild Master Makarov is already at Era." Siegrain explains.
"I would think so, but he's not who I was thinking of." she says.
"Oh, who then?" He asks, and she looks over at Ur.
"Ur, would you like to go along, you might get to meet Ultear." She says, and Ur nods, walking up.
"So, those reports really weren't falsified, you really are alive, well I see no reason to not allow her to come." He says, smirking. "This is wonderful, Ultear is going to be so very ecstatic." He chuckles, and the three head out, two days later they make it to a large town in the center is a flattened out mountain with a large building on it. "Neither of you have been to Era before have you?" He asks.
"Nope." Ur says.
"I never cause any trouble like the rest of the guild does, so I've never had a reason to come here." Ruby says, and he nods.
"And that right there is one of the reasons the rest of the council likes you, over the rest of your guild, you never cause us any trouble." He says, chuckling. "Personally Ultear and I think you guys, keep things interesting, of course, I don't know how many members of the actual council will be there." He continues, and after a few hours Ruby and Ur, are in a type of courtroom, with Ur back by the door of the room, and Ruby front and center, in front of her is a double layer stands, on the top part is a rather tall and broad man with droopy, black beady eyes, and little hair in a top-knot, though a big bushy beard knotted on 2 sides, he's wearing a black kimono under an open white robe, sandals and a stereotypical wizards hat matching the kimono. On the second layer, there are 4 people, Makarov, to the right of him is an is an older man with clean-cut, dark purple hair, red eyes, a well-groomed, mustache, pointy ears, and a tattoo on his forehead that is reminiscent of a cross, he's wearing a button-up dress shirt, a lightly decorated vest, dark-colored slacks, and a black bow tie, as well as a black cape that sports light-colored crosses towards the midline. To the right of him is Siegrain, and to his right is a young woman, who bears a striking resemblance to Ur, she has pale skin, long dark purple hair and red eyes, that Ruby notes are red like a gem, she's wearing a white robe, and white boots, she also has red lips stick, and around her neck is a red choker.
(Crawford Seam, then Makarov, Draculos Hyberion the 2nd God of Ishgar, Siegrain and Ultear Milkovich.) Ruby thinks, she takes a second to look back at Ur, and sees her staring at Ultear in shock and joy, then looks at Ultear and notices while she looks stone faced, she can see her eyes twitching towards Ur in shock, but deep in her eyes, Ruby can see a near invisible seething rage. (Hm, interesting.) She thinks.
"Ruby Rose, during this debacle when the former Guild of Phantom Lord had assaulted your own Guild, it has been reported by our Rune Knights, who interviewed your Guild Mates, that you fought Jose Porla and defeated him, and when Draculos and myself interviewed Master Makarov, when he got here, he confirmed that as well! Now, since Draculos is here in place of Serena, I will pass this onto him." Crawford says.
"Of course, and thank you, Crawford. And I apologize, Ms. Rose, If my being here instead of Serena is offensive in any way, Serena does not care for these types of meetings." Draculos says, but Ruby shakes her head.
"I'm perfectly fine with you being the voice of the Wizard Saints, if I'm being honest, if God Serena had actually been here, I'd probably have left." Ruby says, surprising them.
"It sounds like there's a story behind that comment, Ms. Rose." Ultear says.
"Yes, when I left Makai, to come join Fairy Tail, I had actually had a short run in with God Serena, once Makarov told me who he really was, after he learned about it, I was very surprised he was the first God of Ishgar, the man is… honestly, I think he's a joke, he's arrogant, and as we're seeing right now doesn't take his title seriously, since as the strongest, he should be the semblance of a leader for the group. He's overly flamboyant, and seems to be an attention seeker." Ruby explains, and they all nod, each being aware of God Serena's personality.
"Yes, well back to the reason we're all here, to decide if you are ready for the responsibility of being a Wizard Saint. We can, after-all, possibly be sent on some rather dangerous jobs, considering our positions." He says, and Ruby sighs.
"Then let me save you any debating with Makarov, who will no doubt say, I'm not ready. I'm honored to be considered for a Wizard Saint position, especially considering my age. Being able to join the Wizard Saints is, admittedly, a dream of mine, but I am not ready, at this time. I only managed to beat Jose because of 2 factors, bad luck on his part, and because I had an item that could push me into Devil's Fury, which is the Devil Slayer equivalent of Dragonforce." Ruby explains, shocking them, especially Makarov, who would admit, that's exactly what he'd say.
"Would you explain what the bad luck on his part is?" Ultear asks.
(She's fishing for information.) Ruby thinks, seeing the look in her eyes. "Of course, councilor Ultear, when I say bad luck, I refer to me being the worst opponent Jose could've fought, after all, being a Devil Slayer I can consume any Dark Magic on top of my Devil Slayer elements of Light and Shadow Magic, and since the only Magic Jose knows is Dark Magic, he had no way of fighting me, and Jose's physical ability is utterly laughable." Ruby says, and they nod.
"Well, it looks like we got this little group together for nothing, that's a pity." Crawford sighs.
" Not exactly, I may not be ready at the moment, but I'm sure you all noticed my guest." She says, pointing towards Ur.
"We have…" He says, and she nods.
"Since, I'm not ready, It'd be remiss of me not to point her out to you, for the position, instead of myself." She says, shocking them, Ur especially, though Siegrain chuckles.
"Ruby, what do you think you're doing?!" Ur yells, but Ruby ignores her.
"During the battle, Ur fought Totomaru, one of the Element 4, and defeated him quite easily, if I'm right. And when I got to Jose, he was already engaged in combat with Scarlet and Ur, they were giving him quite the amount of trouble, well Ur was for sure, and if I'm right, you were holding back." Ruby says, looking back at Ur, who sighs.
"Yes, fighting alongside Erza, Jose was having quite a lot of trouble fighting both of us, so I didn't see the need to use my full strength." Ur say, indulging Ruby, in whatever she's doing.
"See, straight from her mouth, yes it was an S-Class, you all know how strong Scarlet is, and I've heard Makarov remark how Ur, even before Iced Shell, was the Level of a Wizard Saint. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted to put Jose in his place myself, I wouldn't have gotten involved at all. I believe Ur is comparable to Iron Rock Jura if not, yourself, councilor Siegrain." Ruby explains.
"Interesting, Makarov, your thoughts?" Draculos asks, looking at Makarov, who is thinking deeply, and after a few minutes, looks at Draculos.
"I believe Ruby's assessment is correct, Ur is strong, more so than I even thought she was, before Iced Shell. And I apologize, Ruby, you had me pegged exactly right, I don't believe you were ready for the responsibility, but seeing you actually willing to admit that yourself, is a surprise I wasn't ready for, you and Laxus usually have an air of considering yourself better. Now, about my thoughts on Ur joining the Wizard Saints, I have no doubts she is capable of handling the responsibilities." Makarov says, and they all nod.
"Well, that only leaves a test, but that will be determined later." Draculos says.
"Well then, this meeting is adjourned." Crawford says, later we find Ruby, Makarov and Ur are walking through a forest.
"Why did you suggest me over yourself, I understand your refusal, but why bring me up?" Ur asks, still a tad annoyed.
"One, outside of Makarov, who is a Guildmaster, the Ten Wizard Saints work closely with the Council, meaning by being a Wizard Saint you'll have a lot of time to talk to your daughter. Of course, I meant what I said. I truly believe that you're on the same level as Iron Rock Jura and councillor Siegrain, who are the tenth and ninth Wizard Saint, meaning I believe you're also stronger than Laxus." Ruby says, shocking the 3, Makarov and Summer especially.
(I never thought I'd hear Ruby say, someone other than Gildarts and myself/Makarov, was stronger than Laxus!) Makarov and Summer think, shocked.
"Laxus, you mean Makarov's grandson, I'd think it'd be obvious, I am in my late thirties, and even back before Deliora, I was considered a master of Ice-Make Magic." Ur says.
"Well, other than Gildarts, I've never seen Laxus lose, and you're nowhere near Gildarts." Ruby says.
"Why didn't you point out either of them then?" Ur asks, and Makarov chuckles.
"Gildarts, a Wizard Saint, that man is never in the same place for very long." Makarov chuckles.
"Not to mention, the Oafs' tendency of destroying everything he walks into." Ruby says, annoyed. "Thankfully Natsu is nowhere near scatterbrained, like Gildarts." She says.
"Okay that's him, but what about Laxus, why not point him out for Wizard Saint?" Ur asks.
"Outside the fact, he's really not ready, even Ruby's more ready than him, she's at-least willing to admit she's not ready right now." He says, and they both notice Ruby looking into the sky, as she's walking.
"Well, if Laxus was a Wizard Saint, then he'd be around far less then he already is." Ruby says, surprising Ur, who hears Makarov Chuckle, and Ur drops back to him.
"Does she…" Ur goes to ask, and Makarov nods.
"Yes, Ruby will absolutely never admit it, but she has a crush on Laxus, she's had a childish crush on him since she was 11. I know it may be, well, odd, but it'll never actually amount to anything. Laxus cares deeply for Ruby, but nothing more than seeing her as a little sister." He whispers, and she nods, two days later they are back at the Guild.
"You three are back, so come on and show us the medallion." Natsu says, but Ruby ignores him, and heads over to Mira.
"What S-Classes do we have?" Ruby asks, and Mira points her to the makeshift Job boards, and Ruby walks over to the S-Class board.
"You ignored Natsu." Mira says.
"She turned them down, and then dropped their interest at my feet." Ur says, walking up, shocking everyone.
"Wait what, Ruby turned down being a Wizard Saint!" Natsu yells, shocked alongside everyone else.
"Unfortunately, Ruby is not ready to be a Wizard Saint, and she knows that." Makarov says.
"What do you mean, she dropped their interest at your feet?" Gray asks.
"Well, she turned them down for now, but recommended me in her place, and after some discussion, they actually accepted, and now I have to wait for some kind of test." She sighs. "I'll admit as annoying as it is, I'm a bit excited, even if they're going to make me do some type of test, when they seemed ready to accept Ruby on the spot, since she defeated Jose." She says, and an hour later, there's another shock, everyone sees Ruby is holding the Lance of Lucifer and looking at a shocked Erza.
"What did you just ask me?" Erza asks, not believing what Ruby just asked, who growls a bit, at having to repeat herself.
"I said, what do I have to do, for you to teach me to properly wield a spear in combat, buy you a month's worth of Strawberry cake, go on a couple jobs with you, or, or go sh-shopping with you." Ruby asks, dreading an answer.
(She, she actually asked that!) Erza thinks, stunned, then she stands there for a few minutes, then looks Ruby in the eyes. "Some of the girls are having a sleepover at my room at Fairy Hills, I want you to come." Erza says, shocking everyone, and Ruby just stands there, eye twitching.
"You, you can't be serious." Ruby says. (I think I'd rather go shopping instead.) She thinks. "When you say girls, who do you mean?" She asks.
"Lucy, Levy, Mira, and Cana." Erza says, and the twitching eye speeds up, before she takes a deep breath, and the spear disappears in a gold glow, and turns away.
"Fine, what time?" Ruby asks, shocking her and everyone.
"7 PM." Erza says, and Ruby nods Leaving the Guild, at 6 : 50, Ruby walks up to a brick building the central section is elongated, with two wings on both sides, she's holding what looks like a bowl of brownies, after another 5 minutes she's standing in front of a door, she knocks and after a minute the door opens and we see Erza, she's wearing her normal outfit without her armor, which is a white blouse and a blue skirt. "Oh, I didn't expect you to be the first one between you and Lucy." She says, letting Ruby in and she sees that Erza's room is actually 5 rooms connected together, and lining the walls are armors and weapons, with rooms that have a bathroom and kitchen still in them.
"You said 7, it'll be 7 in a few minutes." Ruby says, then sees Cana, Levy and Mira, all in pajamas, she place the bowl of brownies on a table that a bunch of snacks are on, then goes to a corner, and in a gold glow a sleeping bag appears on the floor, as well as Ruby now wearing a black tank top with a rose emblem on it and black joggers, and proceeds to sit down by Levy. "Are you doing alright Levy?" She asks.
"I'm doing perfect, I heard you were pretty awesome, during the Phantom battle, and really angry about me." Levy says, and Ruby clicks her tongue.
"Of course I was, you're 1 of the 3 in the guild, who actually has my respect. You're not all that strong, but you're the smartest in the Guild, after Laxus and I, and unlike Laxus, I don't see strength as absolute power, it can be different things." Ruby says, shocking them, and Levy nods.
"Who are the other 2?" Cana asks, and Ruby glares at her for a second, before taking a deep breath.
"The other 2 are Natsu and Gray, but with Ur here in the Guild now, I can easily see myself respecting her." Ruby says and after a few minutes, they all hear a knock, Erza answers the door and lets Lucy in, Lucy is a bit shocked to see Ruby already here. Lucy and Erza walk over to the table they're sitting at and Lucy puts down a couple bowls of snacks, and sits down.
"Now that we're all here…" Erza says.
(Please, no gossip.) Ruby pleads.
"...Ruby there's something I've, actually now there's two things I'm wondering about, but ones practically been on my mind for a week. When and how did Natsu start learning Crash Magic, since you seemed to have known about it?" Erza asks, surprising her a bit, and the others as well, Ruby notices Cana get more serious, unknown to the other 4.
"A few months ago, I actually ran into Gildarts, he figured real quick, that I was doing an S-Class Quest. He asked me where Laxus was, and I told him that I was going solo now." Ruby says.
"Wait, that's how you tell Gildarts, GILDARTS, that you're now one of the Guild's S-Classes?!" Levy yells, and Ruby chuckles.
"Yep, since it's been 3 years since he left on the job, he asked me to catch him up on everything of significance. I caught him up on, obviously the S-Class trial last year, Natsu and I being one of the participants… and Lisanna." Ruby says, and Mirajane flinches. "After that, he asked me how Natsu was doing, and before you ask why he only asked about Natsu, 4 of you know how close Natsu and Gildarts are." She says, and Erza, Mira, Levy and Cana nod. "Well Gildarts is the only person Natsu confided in, about his love of Lisanna, and that she was his Mate, so Gildarts knows exactly what she meant to Natsu. So after letting that knowledge settle, he handed me a book, and asked me to give it to Natsu." She says.
"A book… for Natsu?" Lucy asks, skeptical.
"Yes, a book, more precisely a magic tome, a book that's been passed down in Gildarts's family for generations, it has all the spells and knowledge, one could ever want on Crash Magic, the thing was practically a family heirloom. It was the only way he could think to apologize to Natsu." Ruby says, shocking them.
"Apologize… for what?" Mira asks.
"For not being at the Guild at the time, cause face it, if Gildarts had been at the Guild that day, it would have been him who was sent on the emergency mission, not you, and Lisanna wouldn't have died." Ruby explains, and the four nod.
"So he blamed himself." Mira says. "Knowing Gildarts, and how close he is to Natsu, that seems like something he'd do." She says, and Ruby notices the barest hint of a scowl, on Cana's face.
"I do understand why he'd have you give Natsu the book, but I don't understand, since it was a family heirloom, why he'd feel alright giving it up. I meanit's obvious he considers Natsu like a son, but a family heirloom is something you only give to a blood child." Erza says, and Ruby scoffs
"Scarlet, think about who we're talking about here, Gildarts Clive, he's the biggest womanizer in Fiore, possibly all of Earthland the man likely wouldn't know if he had a kid, even if they were staring them in the face." Ruby says, and Cana notices Ruby linger on her, slightly longer.
(Why is she looking at me?) Cana thinks, then freaks internally. (No, there's no way she could know!) She thinks.
"I mean for all Gildarts and we could know, one of our own generation could be a child of Gildarts, and we wouldn't even know." Ruby says, looking to the side disinterested, but Cana's certain she knows, at that point. "But yeah, that's how Natsu learned Crash Magic." She says, lifting a hand, and they notice the bowl she brought float over to her, she then takes a brownie out and takes a bite, they see her shudder, and swear they see her eyes sparkle. They shrug and each grab a piece, and take a bite and they're shocked.
"These are amazing!" Lucy says, amazed.
"Yeah, I've never tasted something so good!" Levy and Mira say.
"It tastes like strawberries, I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's as good as strawberry cake!" Erza says, shocking everyone, and Cana's the only one to notice Ruby blush a little, and smile.
"Ruby, where'd you get these, they're amazing." Cana says, and the others look at Ruby.
"Th-They're Homemade." Ruby says, shocking Levy, Cana, Erza and Mira.
"So Macao made them for you." Lucy says, but Ruby scoffs.
"Macao can't bake for the life of him, I'm the one who made them." Ruby says, then they see her eyes widen in realization, and she blushes more.
(I think we're seeing some of the real Ruby, not the mask she always wears.) Mira and Erza think, and the girls chuckle.
"Hehe, so even the big bad Demon Fairy can get embarrassed." Cana chuckles, and Ruby's magic spikes threateningly, as she glares at Cana.
"Come on Ruby, there's nothing wrong with liking to bake." Mira says, and Ruby glares at her too, before taking a deep breath and laying down.
"Scarlet, I meant to ask Natsu earlier today, but do you know what made Natsu and Datsu go berserk when he was fighting Black Steel?" Ruby asks, changing the subject.
"Yeah, I asked him after he regained consciousness, he told me that Gajeel said after he was done with Natsu he was going to go after some other Dragon Slayer, called the Sky Maiden." Erza explains, shocking them.
"Wait, there's another Dragon Slayer in Fiore!?" Lucy, Levy, Mira and Cana ask, shocked, but they're surprised to hear Ruby chuckle.
"I'd pay to see him try, since he'd have to contend with an S-Class, I've heard compared to me." Ruby says, shocking them.
"What's their name?" Mira asks.
"Don't know, I've only heard her Alias, the Battle Goddess." Ruby says, surprising them, and she smirks. "Sounds like someone, I'd like to challenge." She says, shocking Mira and Erza, then the 5 just make small talk, while Ruby quickly falls asleep.
(Well, I did only tell her she had to come, and not that she had to participate. Given I can't believe she actually agreed, I shouldn't push my luck by waking her up, and asking her to participate.) Erza thinks, looking at the sleeping Ruby.
(I still can't believe this girl is stronger than Erza. For Pete's sake, she's 2 years younger than me!) Lucy thinks.
(So Ruby is as embarrassed, about liking to bake, as I used to be about cooking.) Mirajane thinks, chuckling.
(Can't believe Ruby likes something, some considered, so girly.) Levy thinks.
(She can't know… could she?) Cana thinks. The next morning Mirajane, Lucy and Ruby are leaving Fairy Hill's, they all break off and head home, and when Ruby gets home, she turns around.
"Are you going to come in and talk, or are you going to continue acting like a coward like always?" Ruby says, and after a few seconds, Cana steps out of a bush, looking serious, and the two walk into the house, and they step into Ruby's room, after saying morning to Romeo. Ruby sits on her bed, and is annoyed seeing Cana looking around the room, looking at the different pictures she has of her, Romeo and Macao, her and Laxus, her and Lisanna, her and Natsu, and a few pictures, of her family back in Makai. "Stop gawking, I know why you followed me, you want to know if I was talking about you last night, when I was talking about Gildarts having a child. I was, I know you're the daughter of Gildarts." She says shocking her.
"How?" Cana asks quietly.
"To my knowledge, I'm the only person in the world who can feel people's Magic and feel the similarities that those who are related have, you and Gildarts Magic, have this…" Ruby says, trying to describe how Cana and Gildarts magic feels to her, and frowns. "...feeling of unfathomable power." She finishes, shocking Cana, who tries to say something, when Ruby glares at her, and Cana is shocked seeing the look of total disdain in her eyes. "That's why I loathe you so much, Cana, because of who you're the daughter of, you were born with unprecedented potential, you have more potential than Laxus and I. Yet you continuously squander it, it's no wonder you've failed the S-Class Trials 4 years in a row. Instead of using your free time on challenging jobs, with the help of an S-Class or training, you sit around the Guild drinking and waiting for Gildarts to come back, only to be too much of a coward to tell him who you are. Now leave, I've answered your question." She seethes, Cana just looks at her shocked, and nods shocked, leaving.
