I'm alive!
Hi everyone, just to update as you must have noticed by now.
That I am still posting and uploading stories.
The last year has not been easy at all, there were many things from my side that took away and almost destroyed any motivation or desire to write anything at all. One of the big reasons I was able to get back to all of the writing was because of 'JRC1700's' help. Thank you so much brother!
I also went through all my notes and stories, and I intend to update all of them. Yes, even the ones I haven't updated in a long time. I know you had to wait a long time for some of them and I intend to change that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the episode and the ones to come after.

Chapter 2: A Scouting Mission
Ron was sitting in his room, having been dismissed after his first official shift as a secret agent. How the hell did he manage that!? And not only that… he'd also done a good job! So much so that Ron had been commended for his splendid work and encouraged to take the next few days off before he'd be assigned his next task.
Also getting the personal phone number of the VIP… talk about crazy.
He sighed, staring at his phone before dialing a number and waiting as it rang.
After a few seconds someone finally picked up. "Hello?" asked the familiar voice.
"Hey Bonnie, how's it going?" Ron asked his best friend.
"Fine… already finished getting my stuff ready for the vacation. My sisters even chose something somewhat resembling a swimsuit…" She didn't sound all too thrilled about that; it was a pretty common complaint.
"I see…" Ron replied, ignoring the mental image of Bonnie's gorgeous sisters in bikinis. "I just wanted to ask, is the offer to join you guys still open?"
"Wha- the offer to… Oh! Yes! Obviously! Of course you can! Did you change your mind? No, never mind I'll just tell my parents that you're coming!" Bonnie's slightly neutral tone had become much happier and more animated as soon as she'd heard the news.
'What's she so happy about? It's only a trip with her family…' Ron mused, simply shaking his head. "Also…" he cut in, stopping his friend before she could get to her parents. "You can tell your parents that I'll be paying for my own ticket and stuff" the blonde boy declared with as little glee as he could. He was proud of that little fact, especially as this would be the first time ever.
"Oh, okay… Yeah, sure! As long as you're still joining me- us! I mean…" Bonnie replied. The details didn't really matter to her, just as long as he was coming.
The young Stoppable didn't admit to how fast she'd accepted that bothered him, but the fact that it wasn't her fault wasn't lost on him. It didn't really matter in the end; Bonnie was his best friend and he'd accept her no matter what. Besides, nothing was going to diminish his great mood!

"Another mission done…" Betty remarked, managing to maintain a professional expression. It was really quite rare for a team of new recruits to not only to keep their VIP safe, but also apprehend the one who was trying to hurt them. And that was even taking into account their experience and prior training.
It was one less thing to worry about as now she had a few new agents who could deal with this sort of mission much more easily. 'If only it was so easy to deal with Miss Possible…' Betty couldn't help but muse, shaking her head. The girl was quite good at what she did, definitely someone to follow up with when she'd grown up. If only she could learn to work with others.
Looking at the stack of paperwork she had got Betty thinking of Miss Possible once more. In a perfect world she could employ the young girl as one of her agents, or even an instructor to teach her skills to others. But alas, that girl was lightning in a bottle… Something that couldn't simply be replicated without a lot of work. And if Betty lingered on such a project too long, innocent people might get hurt.
Unfortunately, the only thing she could do at the moment was throw a horde of agents at their problems and hope some of them would stick the landing and learn something in the process. Was it reckless and irresponsible? Absolutely.
Did Betty have much choice? Not really… It was either use a few of her people that had limited experience in the field, or the local authorities who had zero experience. There was just too much to deal with! 'I really need some time off…' she mused, nearly breaking out into laughter at such an insane thought.
Betty looked over a few more documents before choosing a few that seemed fairly standard, grouping them in a nice, organized stack before calling one of her agents in.
"Yes, Director?" the agent prompted.
"I need you to assign some of the newer agents to these tasks… preferably from the last batch…" she explained, pointing at the small stack of paperwork. Her agent picked it up, scanning it for a moment before nodding. "Understood Director, is there anyone in particular you want me to assign?"
Betty didn't even take a second before shaking her head, "no need… Even with one successful mission under their belts, it's still too early to give them something complicated… Or to assign them to assist Miss Possible…" she finished, the agent laughing loudly.
"Yeah, we wouldn't want to break them too early…"
"I can always assign someone more experienced, give them another try…" Betty aimed a pointed look at the agent.
"Oh! I'm not… sure that's a good idea, Director. Last time I was out of commission for a week, and I still have the marks to prove it…" her agent answered fearfully. "And I don't think I have any more vacation or sick days left to use…"
"I could add some vacation days and even some-" Betty tried to offer, the agent shaking his head rapidly.
"No! No, it's perfectly okay Ma'am! Director, Sir!" His fearful response left her sighing.
"Yes, I thought as much…"

Ron was having the time of his life, the first time in a long time! And no, it wasn't because of the two gorgeous older girls he had the pleasure of seeing in pretty outfits. He was finally able to go out and have fun with Bonnie and her family without feeling like the odd man out.
It was such a weight off his shoulders, much more so than he ever expected. Not having to worry about anything, simply focusing on having fun with Bonnie. 'Man… I'm never going back to feeling like that again!' Ron promised himself. He was currently busy learning how to properly ski from Bonnie, who'd purposefully pulled him away from the rest of her family.
"Wow… you're pretty good Ron! Are you sure you haven't had lessons before?" the brunette asked, wearing an impressed smile.
The blonde teen huffed in annoyance, pulling himself out of the snow for the fourth time, he started shaking the powder off. "Yeah… I suppose crashing into the first pile that's slightly bigger than a hill is pretty impressive…" His deadpan tone and expression did nothing to stop her giggles, it seemed to him that she was also having a good time.
"Please, you need to stop being such a drama queen… Most people don't manage to even stay up on their first time, you just need to work on your speed and how to steer better!" The pretty brunette smiled, moved closer.
"Oh, really? That's all? My word, if that's so then I'm on my way to becoming an Olympic skier!" Ron replied, earning himself a slap on the back.
"I said stop being a drama queen. Geez… and here I was being honest about it this time…"
"This time?" He eyed her suspiciously before sighing. "Whatever, just show me what to do and please keep the extra comments to a minimum…"
"Really? And here I thought you liked my special blend of commentary, guess that'll teach me to be nice…" Bonnie teased.
"This is you being nice? Makes me wonder why Brick is still asking about you-" Ron started to reply when he noticed her expression. "Wait, did something happen?"
There was a deep frown on her face that showed there absolutely was something wrong. "No, and that's the point…"
"Wait, I thought you liked Brick…" The look Bonnie gave Ron made him gulp.
"Ron… I commented once about him in a game we saw, and ever since then he keeps annoying me and asking me out! I don't even know how many times I've told him no… You'd think he'd get the hint, but apparently he's assuming I'm playing hard to get! Well, or he's just an idiot!" She huffed and looked away before glancing back and seeing her blonde friend's expression. "What?"
Ron looked away, scratching his cheek. "Well… he kind of… asked me about you…"
"Asked you what?" Bonnie had a feeling she wasn't going to like it.
"Like… if you're, umm… dating anyone?" an uncomfortable Ron admitted.
Her eyes narrowed, "and what exactly did you tell him?"
"N-Nothing… just that you're not dating anyone…" Ron wasn't sure why, but his honest answer seemed to annoy Bonnie. Her sigh was also a pretty good indicator.
"Ron… you should have told him I was taken."
"Are you? That's news to me… when did that happen?" Ron was more than a little confused, he was sure he would have noticed if his childhood best friend was dating someone. She never had before…
Bonnie gave him a flat look. "I'm not and that's the point, Ron… I only told Brick that to make him stop asking, now you've gone ahead and ruined it." She crossed her arms and gave him a look.
"What? Hey, I wasn't the one who went ahead and lied about having a boyfriend… And if you really wanted to keep it a secret then you could have told me about it" he defended. Even if his reasoning was sound, it still bothered Ron to have forced his friend to deal with the fallout.
She kept staring at him before breaking her gaze. "It's fine… I can't really be too mad at you… I'll just have to deal with that moron…" her tone turned very cold.
"Can't I help somehow?" Ron suddenly asked.
She looked pleasantly surprised, smiling before waving his offer away. "No, it's fine… I can deal with a persistent guy much easier than you can; I'll just tell him straight to his face that I'm not interested…" she explained plainly.
Ron was certain his friend would manage just fine. After all, Bonnie was one of the smartest people in school. "Okay, if you're sure…"
"I am… so don't you worry your pretty little head. Now… are you ready to continue?" she asked with a teasing smile.
"As long as you keep the snarky comments to a minimum… and my pretty head?" the blonde teen asked.
"Enough about that, let's keep practicing! I want to show Connie that I can be a good teacher…" Bonnie admitted, before she noticed the odd look he was given her. "What? My sister said that I couldn't do it without you quitting or something…"
"And Lonnie?" he asked.
She shrugged. "Completely convinced that you could do this on your own… even without my help. She honestly has WAY too much faith in you…"
Ron couldn't help but smile at the reminder of the older sister that had believed in him, she'd always been nice to him even when he was little.
"Uhh… can you not perve on my sisters for one sec?" Bonnie asked in a slightly dramatic tone.
"Bonbon, I keep telling you that I don't…" he responded tiredly, the blonde wasn't sure how many times he'd had to defend himself from that particular accusation.
"Sure… I'll believe that-" Bonnie was prepared to mock him some more when an unfamiliar sound cut her off, an odd ringing that she hadn't heard before. The brunette watched as her childhood friend froze and pulled some sort of beeper out of his pocket. "Well, that's new… I didn't know you got a beeper, Ron."
The young Stoppable took a second and lifted his gaze before replying. "Oh… Y-Yeah, I got it from my new job. Something about having to be available if they needed something!" he explained quickly.
"What is your job? You never told me…" she pointed out.
"I'll tell you another time… I better get this!" Ron shouted, rushing away from the girl and as far away as he could.

I'm here…" he declared to the small device.
"Agent Stoppable, I trust that you are alone…" the voice from the other side prompted.
Ron nodded before answering, "Y-Yeah, I'm alone right now…"
"Good, now for your mission-" the unfamiliar voice began.
"W-Wait!" the blonde teen quickly cut in. "I'm not at home- in Middleton right now, so I don't think I can make it on time…" he explained, hoping that it wouldn't be problematic.
"We are aware you are not at Middleton at the moment, it is why you were called… I trust that it's not an issue?" the voice asked, ready to gauge his response.
Ron had a second to think about it before answering quickly, "no issue here! So, what's the mission?"
"The details will be sent to your device… your transportation will arrive in a few minutes… Just make sure to inform the people you're with that you won't be available for a few hours…" the voice explained plainly.
"Okay, I'll be sure to message them…" Ron swore, before recalling something. "What about the rest of my team? Will I meet them there?" he asked curiously.
"Your team?" The voice sounded confused for a moment before speaking up again. "If you mean the agents that accompanied you on your last mission, then no… You will be dealing with this mission alone…"
Ron could feel his stomach drop as the pressure hit him dead on, a mission completely on his own?! He recalled the last one… he'd gotten lucky with the woman who'd attacked him and he wasn't so confident his luck would hold.
"I probably shouldn't be saying this… but your mission isn't anything that will take very long, it's only surveillance…" the voice explained.
Ron could feel the pressure starting to dissipate, the knowledge that he wouldn't be thrown into a crazy mission like last time calming him down. "Wha… that's good to know-" he remarked without thinking, before cutting off upon recalling who he was talking to. "I-I mean that-"
"It's perfectly fine Agent Stoppable; everyone has the jitters on their first solo mission… Just remember that we always have your back…" the person on the other side soothed.
"Well, how can I object to that?" Ron could appreciate the encouragement as it was really helping him, reassurance was often something that only Bonnie and her family offered him. The brunette always insisted that if Ron believed in himself, nothing was impossible for him. It was time put that little theory to the test.
…
The blonde spy had been waiting for his aforementioned ride, he wasn't sure what to call it honestly. It was just someone driving a snowmobile, a white and barely visible one… Not to mention that the driver was also wearing a completely white snow suit and a helmet that pretty much made it impossible to identify them.
The snowmobile stopped next to Ron before the rider dismounted and opened the trunk, pulling out a large black bag and handing it to the blonde teen.
"Put it on… we have work to do…" the muffled voice ordered.
Ron couldn't recognize the person, and doubted that he would have even if they had no helmet. He did as instructed, now wearing the same type of suit. Amazingly, it felt perfectly tailored for him.
"Good, now get on… we have a little bit of a ride ahead of us" the agent explained, getting back on the snowmobile and making room for him. after Ron got on, the driver started the engine once more. "Hold on, we need to finish this quickly…"
The young Stoppable held on but still didn't expect the thrust as he nearly fell off, he had to fling himself forward and grab the driver to hold himself from in place. "Wha! S-Sorry…"
"It's fine… just make sure to not fall off…" the driver assured.

After a long ride the snowmobile stopped and his driver pointed to a mountain not far away from them. "Up there… We received a few strange reports, so your mission is to inspect the area… Get some images or evidence, in the event that there is something, and report back…"
Ron nodded as he was handed a small camera, it was so unimpressive that he couldn't help but comment on it. "Shouldn't this be more advanced? Or not look so obviously like a camera?"
The driver shook his head. "No need, this mission is only reconnaissance… with low to no danger. I'll be awaiting your return…"
The response was logical, but there was still something else that was bothering the blonde. "If it's such an easy mission, why send both of us?"
The driver didn't hesitate, answering instantly. "It's only natural that more than one agent is deployed to any given situation… to look after each other and make sure everything goes smoothly. That is, unless you are a more experienced agent that can handle anything."
That told Ron more then he'd expected, he nodded before starting to move away. "Got it! I'll make sure to get this done quickly- and hey, maybe even nab us a promotion!" he joked while walking away. Ron could hear a faint laugh come from behind him.
X-=-=X
The place he was tasked to gather evidence wasn't what he'd expected it to be. For starters, it looked to be an old shack that hadn't been used in ages. Snow seemed to be absent on the inside, the only things he saw were a few pieces of old furniture in various states of decay and ruin.
A small table in the middle was the only thing that wasn't damaged and seemed relatively clean, except for a set of utensils and a plate. It was really out of place… So much so that Ron couldn't help but move close and pull out his camera, if only to take a photo of something to bring back to show that there was nothing going on.
'Why did they even think there was something here?' the blonde thought, approaching the table and aiming his camera. As soon as he did the whole room started to shake and drop down all around him.
'Wait… what's going- is this an elevator?!' The thought occurred to him a little too late as the top of the newly-reveled elevator closed and he started to descend. 'I guess there was something here after all…'
