It is the day of Gwen's birthday and Gwen wakes up to find herself alone in her bed.
"Huh, I wonder where Clarence is?" Gwen asked.
Gwen gets up and her servants help her get ready for the day. Just as Gwen entered the dining hall, she is greeted with a surprise.
"Surprise! Happy Birthday Gwen!" Everybody cheered.
Clarence brings Gwen a platter of breakfast and gives her a kiss.
"Aw guys you didn't have to." Gwen said with a smile.
Ms. Chalice jumped into Gwen's arms.
"We wanted to Gweny. You're our sister, our best friend and our favorite goddess." Ms. Chalice said making a cute face.
Gwen smiled as she carried Ms. Chalice and sat her down. Just then, Cuphead and Mugman jumped on her shoulders.
"Aw, do my little brothers wanna party?" Gwen asked in a cute-like way.
"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" Both cups exclaimed.
Gwen magically makes three party hats and noisemakers and gives one to each cup. They started making loud party noises. The servants put up balloons, streamers, a piñata and confetti as the lead servant placed presents on a large table.
After breakfast, Clarence walked up to Gwen.
"So, what do you wanna do for your birthday today before the party?" Clarence asked.
Gwen smiled, already having an idea.
"I know just the place to visit." Gwen said.
"Where? Where?" Both ups asked.
Gwen tapped her ink pen, and the group disappeared. They appear in a country called Brazil in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
"Ooh! What is this nice warm place?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"Guys, welcome to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil." Gwen greeted.
"Wow, so this is Rio." Clarence said.
"Yep, it's all real in Rio." Gwen said.
"All by itself." Cuphead added.
"Anyway, you guys wanna see the sights before we grab lunch?" There's so much to see in Brazil." Gwen asked excitedly.
"Yeah!" All three cups exclaimed.
"I'm ready." Clarence agreed.
Gwen summons Cerulean Bolt her magic carpet, they hop on, and they fly in the sky. They start with approaching the famous statue Christ the Redeemer.
"Who's that guy?" Mugman asked.
"That is Jesus Christ. The statue is called Christ the Redeemer." Gwen answered.
"Cool." Cuphead said.
"Ooh! What's that mountain over there?" Mugman asked, pointing at a mountain.
The group look at the mountain.
"That Mugsy is called Sugarloaf Mountain." Gwen answered.
They fly over the mountain, admiring its beauty. Later, they return to the city for lunch. They order feijoada, empadão (flaky chicken casserole, Pão de queijos (cheese flavored rolls), feijoa tropeiros, tambaqui con fritas and bolo de rolo. Then they have brigadeiro (chocolate truffles) for dessert.
"Awesome birthday trip." Ms. Chalice said, eating a Paõ de queijo.
"Yeah!" Both cups agreed, eating feijoada.
"Yep. It's a beautiful day; the skies are clear. Perfect day to be in Rio and with my favorite people." Clarence agreed.
Gwen and Clarence lift their glasses of caipirinhas, and the cups hold up their glasses of guarana.
"Happy 21st birthday Gwen!" Clarence and the cups toasted.
"Thanks fellas, now I can legally drink alcohol." Gwen said.
They clinked their glasses and sipped their drinks. As the cups and Clarence chatted, Gwen suddenly noticed a stray black cat wandering around the tables looking for food. The cat approached Gwen's table.
"Aw, you hungry kitty?" Gwen asked in a cute voice.
"Meow!" The cat meowed.
Gwen grabbed her ink pen, magically makes a fish appear and hands it to the cat. The cat sniffs the fish then suddenly takes it from her hand and started eating it.
"There you go. Much better." Gwen said, feeling proud of herself.
Without noticing, the magic inkwell started glowing and bestowing another power on Gwen. She talks to her the cups when she suddenly heard another voice close by.
"Did you say something Chalice?" Gwen asked.
"No, I was just listening." Ms. Chalice denied.
"What's that meowing?" Cuphead asked.
"I don't hear meowing, I hear someone talking." Gwen said, now feeling confused.
"Seriously? You don't hear that cat meowing?" Clarence asked.
"No, I just hear someone saying how this fish is delicious and there are still good humans in the world and…" Gwen said, then a realization struck her.
She looked at the cat and realized it was the cat talking.
"You just talked!" Gwen exclaimed.
The cat looked up at Gwen.
"Oh, that's nonsense. Humans can't hear animals talk." The cat said.
"Humans can't hear animals talk? How are you doing that?" Gwen asked.
The cat realized Gwen did indeed hear him talk.
"Wait, you can hear me?" The cat asked.
Gwen shockingly nodded her head.
The cat screeched and ran away. The group looked confused.
"What was that all about?" Cuphead asked.
Gwen looked at the magic inkwell glowing until it stopped.
"Wait, did the inkwell just grant me another ability?" Gwen asked.
"Looks like it." Mugman said.
"Maybe that's its birthday gift to you after you fed that cat." Clarence said.
"I think you're right love." Gwen said.
"Hey guys look! Soccer!" Ms. Chalice said pointing.
"Oh, I heard Brazil's playing against their rivals Argentina today." Gwen said.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Cuphead said excitedly.
After paying the bill, they approach the stadium, buy tickets and watch a soccer game with the national team playing against Argentina.
"Woo! Get'em boys!" Ms. Chalice called.
A Brazilian soccer player scored a goal.
"Whoo!" Both cups cheered.
Gwen and Clarence held each other as they watched the game. Just then a little bird landed on top of Gwen's head.
"Oh, there's a little bird on your head." Clarence said.
Gwen tried to shoo the bird away.
"Are you the magic girl?" The little bird asked.
"Wait, what? Magic girl?" Gwen asked, shocked the bird was talking to her.
"Aha! It is you! The human who can hear us!" The bird exclaimed.
"I'm trying to enjoy my birthday with my friends if you don't mind." Gwen said, trying to be polite.
"I need to tell the others!" The little bird said and flew away.
"Others?" Gwen asked.
"What'd that little bird say?" Clarence asked.
"He was confirming it was me for some reason. And said he's gonna tell the others." Gwen answered.
"Wow. Sounds like the animals here are interested in you." Clarence said.
"But I wanna enjoy my birthday with you guys. You guys mean everything to me." Gwen said.
Clarence held her hands.
"And you mean everything to us too." Clarence said.
Later, they head to a nearby beach and the cups jumped into the water playing games as Gwen and Clarence held each other. Both humans kissed then Gwen yawned, feeling sleepy.
"Oh, is it time for your nappy wappy?" Clarence taunted.
"Yes, and it's time for you swim until the sharks eat you." Gwen taunted back.
Clarence laughed as he joined the cups in the water as Gwen went to sleep in the sun.
After a while of sleeping, Gwen feels something soft tickling her feet, making her giggle.
"Honey, stop that." Gwen said in her sleep.
But the tickling didn't stop, making Gwen bend her legs on her towel away from the tickler. Just then, something small tried to open her eyelid.
"OW!" Gwen cried in pain, waking up.
She rubbed her eye and looked down to see a little blue with black spots poison dart frog looking at her and a red frog with black spots.
"You're a heavy sleeper for a human." The blue frog said in a feminine high-pitched voice.
"And ticklish too." The red frog added in a male high-pitched voice.
Gwen gasped at the little frogs, frantically getting up. Suddenly, she felt something land on top of her head.
"She looks the one that fellow sparrow mentioned." A female voice said.
Gwen looked up, noticing a colorful hummingbird looking down at her.
"Oh!" Gwen exclaimed.
Just then, Gwen noticed a hyacinth macaw, a scarlet macaw and an Amazon parrot on her towel. Gwen attempted to turn away, when she comes nose to nose with a toucan.
"Olá." The toucan greeted in an older male voice.
Gwen gasped at the group of birds and little frogs gathered around her.
"Who are you? What do you want? What's going on here? Why am I surrounded by birds and frogs?" Gwen asked too many questions, freaking out.
"Woah, easy there senhora. Too many questions. Is it your first time hearing us 'animals' talk?" The toucan asked.
"Uh… sim?" Gwen answered nervously in Portuguese.
"Hey, it's a shock to us too. We never talked to a human before." The hummingbird said.
"Normally, they can't hear us talk, but you're the first who can." The scarlet macaw added in a male voice.
"Wow. The magic inkwell really did bless me with another ability." Gwen said, amazed.
"Magic inkwell? Is that where the magic comes from?" The hyacinth macaw asked in a male voice, touching his beak against the inkwell.
"Yes?" Gwen answered.
"Then you are the one who can help us." The Amazon parrot said in a female voice.
"Okay, I'll just ask. What do you guys want from me?" Gwen asked, getting to the point.
"Word has grabbed our ears that you not only can hear us, but you also help others in need." The toucan said.
"How do you know that?" Gwen asked.
"Oh, some gato started a rumor around town. We didn't believe it at first until that sparrow said you were real and here we are." The toucan answered.
"Do you all have names?" Gwen asked.
"I am Aldo." The toucan introduced himself.
"Aldo." Gwen repeated.
"And these are my friends Azul and Vermelho." Aldo introduced the hyacinth and scarlet macaws.
"This is Jaida." Aldo introduced the Amazon parrot.
"The little lady on your head is Topaz." Aldo introduced the hummingbird.
Gwen looked up at Topaz.
"You like my hair?" Gwen asked.
"Sim. Your hair is very soft." Topaz answered as she snuggled in her hair like a nest.
"And these little ones are Sol and Lua." Aldo finished with the two poison dart frogs.
Sol was the red one and Lua was the blue one. Sol hopped on Gwen's nose.
"Don't worry, we won't poison you." Sol said.
Lua shoved Sol off and hopped on Gwen's nose.
"Unless of course you eat us, then you'd be poisoned and die." Lua said.
"Noted." Gwen said, feeling uneasy.
Aldo brushed Lua off Gwen's nose.
"Do you humans have names?" Azul asked.
"What's your name?" Vermelho asked.
"My name is Gwen." Gwen introduced herself.
"Anyway, we came seeking your help, Gwen." Aldo said.
"With what?" Gwen asked.
"In our beloved home in the Amazon, we lived peaceful and in beautiful harmony. Then one day, the trappers appeared and started trapping and capturing fellow birds and neighbors and disappeared." Aldo explained.
"Oh no." Gwen said.
"We cannot risk anyone else getting captured, so we were sent seeking help. Which is why we need you." Vermelho said, wrapping his wings around Gwen's leg.
"But what can I do?" Gwen asked.
"With your powers and magic, you can defeat the trappers, save our fellow birds and neighbors so we can once again live in peace and harmony." Aldo said.
"Please Gwen? Will you help us?" Jaida asked with pleading eyes.
Gwen was unsure until Clarence and the cups approach them. The birds and frogs felt scared at first.
"Don't be scared. That's my fiancé and my best friends." Gwen assured the animals.
"Love, are they talking to you?" Clarence asked.
"Uh, yes." Gwen answered awkwardly.
"What'd they say?" Cuphead asked.
"They're begging for my help. They want me to come with them to the Amazon rainforest and defeat these 'trappers' and save captured animals." Gwen summarized the conversation.
"Wait, are we talkin' about poachers again? We've encountered the meanest poacher before." Mugman asked, recalling a memory.
"I think you're right Mugsy." Gwen answered.
"Wow, we gotta go to the jungle? There's a ton of bugs in jungles!" Ms. Chalice complained.
"Don't worry, we'll eat who pesters you." Azul said.
"You will?" Gwen asked.
"Sim. We'll eat them if it's necessary." Vermelho added.
"What'd they say?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"They said they'll eat any bugs who 'bug' us." Gwen said and joked.
Cuphead and Mugman laugh.
"Just don't make us bite them." Jaida said.
"What'd that one say?" Ms. Chalice asked suspiciously.
"Nothing. She's just delighted to meet you." Gwen lied.
"Who is this human and these big-headed strangers?" Aldo asked.
"This is my fiancé, Clarence. And these strangers are called cups. And their names are Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice." Gwen introduced.
"Cups. Oh, xícaras." Aldo said, now understanding.
"Xícaras? Does that mean cups?" Gwen asked.
"Sim." Aldo answered.
Gwen stood up with Topaz still nestled on her head.
"So, what do you guys think? Should we follow them to the Amazon?" Gwen asked her friends.
They all looked at each other.
"What have we got to lose?" Cuphead asked.
"I'm in too." Mugman added.
"This'll be fun." Ms. Chalice said.
"I suppose we could put my birthday on hold and go help them." Gwen said.
"It'll be okay, we'll be back in time for the party." Clarence assured her.
"And don't forget Carnaval!" Vermelho said excitedly.
They look at the birds and frogs.
"Alright, we'll help you." Gwen agreed.
The animals cheered.
"Obrigado." Aldo thanked.
"Sim." Topaz agreed.
Gwen summons Cerulean Bolt and the group hop on. The frogs hop on Gwen's head with Topaz.
"Fly Northwest to the Amazon rainforest." Gwen ordered.
They fly northwest to the rainforest.
"Wonder what we'll find in the rainforest." Cuphead said.
"Probably more animals, bugs and fish." Mugman answered.
"Yeah, except you better watch out for piranhas." Clarence said.
Both cups' eyes popped.
"Piranhas?!" Both cups said fearfully.
"Relax ding-dongs. They won't get us as long as we don't go swimmin.'" Ms. Chalice said.
"Guys, we'll be okay. I can talk to animals now. Whatever we find, I'll talk to them and tell them not to hurt or eat us." Gwen assured them.
"Ya see fellas? Gweny here will make sure they won't hurt us." Ms. Chalice said, placing her arm around Gwen.
Just then, Vermelho flew on Cuphead's head.
"Hey! Get off!" Cuphead complained.
Azul flew on Mugman's head.
"Aw they like us." Mugman said.
Jaida flew on Ms. Chalice's head.
"Don't think about biting me." Ms. Chalice warned.
"Don't make me." Jaida warned back.
Clarence gently petted Aldo's feathers and made the toucan purr.
"I think Aldo likes you." Gwen said.
"Aldo? Is that his name?" Clarence asked.
"Yeah, and these little guys up here are Topaz, Sol and Lua." Gwen introduced the hummingbird and poison dart frogs.
"And those two three are Vermelho, Azul and Jaida." Gwen introduced the parrots.
"Here pretty bird." Mugman said, raising his hand at the macaw.
Azul was about to bite until Gwen stopped him.
"It's okay Azul. He wants to be your friend." Gwen said.
Azul hesitates but then stepped on Mugman's hand.
"Thanks." Mugman thanked.
"Let me try that." Cuphead said.
Cuphead raises his hand at Vermelho. He stepped on Cuphead's hand.
"Hey, he likes me too." Cuphead said.
Ms. Chalice wasn't sure about Jaida.
"I dunno. This one doesn't like me." Ms. Chalice said feeling unsure.
Gwen leaned to Jaida and lifted Ms. Chalice's hand.
"Jaida, it's okay. Ms. Chalice is my dear friend.
Jaida hesitated but then stepped on her hand.
"See? It's okay. She's very nice." Gwen said.
"Wow, she's a pretty girl." Ms. Chalice said.
Jaida squawked while Gwen heard her thank Ms. Chalice for the compliment.
"We're here!" Aldo called.
They looked and noticed they are arriving to the Amazon rainforest.
"Ah, home sweet home." Aldo said.
"So, where are we going?" Gwen asked.
"Head west." Aldo answered.
"Fly west." Gwen ordered.
Cerulean Bolt flies west until they noticed a loading site with caged animals and birds.
"That's them!" Azul yelled.
"SHH!" Gwen shushed.
"They're armed with guns." Clarence said, noticing the poachers had guns in their pockets.
"Let's get closer without being seen." Gwen said.
They fly down into the trees where the birds fly off and land on the branches. Sol and Lua hop off and land on the tree.
"So, what's the plan?" Cuphead asked.
Gwen thinks for a moment.
"I got it. You three are gonna distract them and let them chase you in the jungle. Clarence and I will free the animals." Gwen explained their plan.
"But won't they try to shoot us?" Mugman asked.
"No, they're gonna want you guys alive." Gwen answered.
"What do you want us to do? Dress in goofy dresses and do the samba?" Ms. Chalice asked sarcastically.
"Perfect." Gwen said smirking.
Later, the poachers were standing guard when suddenly, they hear loud samba music. They looked and noticed Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice dressed in Carnaval dresses and dance goofily while Ms. Chalice scatted and turned up the charm.
The poachers grab their weapons and approach the cups.
"Oh! Look at the time! See ya fellas later!" Ms. Chalice said with a wink.
The cups quickly run off and the poachers chased after them.
"Alright, let's go!" Gwen said.
Gwen and Clarence quickly enter the site, and Gwen magically unlocks the cages as Clarence opened the cages. Various animals including jaguars, anteaters, tapirs, parrots, capybaras, river otters, monkeys and harpy eagles run and fly away.
"Alright, that's everyone." Gwen said, feeling proud.
"Wait! There's two sloths trying to flee but they're too slow!" Clarence exclaimed pointing.
"Then, let's get them out of here ourselves. You carry one and I'll carry one." Gwen said.
The couple ran up to the slow-moving sloths and each lift them up in their arms.
"It's okay. We're here to save you." Gwen said soothingly.
"You… are… here… to… save… us?" The female sloth asked slowly.
"Yes, we are. And yes, I can hear you talk." Gwen said.
"Let's go before they come back!" Clarence said.
"Right." Gwen said.
"Help!" A young male voice called.
The couple looked and noticed a young Brazilian teenage boy tied up. They run up to him and untie him.
"Were you captured too?" Gwen asked.
"Sim. I tried to save these poor animals, but I was caught." The teenager answered.
"Well, don't worry. We'll get you out of here." Clarence assured him.
Cerulean Bolt flies down to the humans and sloths. But before they could hop on, they hear sounds of guns cocking. They realize too late the poachers have returned and captured Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice.
"Sorry girlfriend, but they caught us." Ms. Chalice apologized.
"I should've known those xícara freaks were a diversion." The lead poacher said as he grabbed Gwen's arm.
The other poachers take Clarence and cage up Cerulean Bolt.
The five friends are tied up and guns were pointed at them.
"Any ideas Gwen?" Cuphead asked quietly.
"They're gonna kill us!" Mugman exclaimed.
"Hang on guys. I'm thinking!" Gwen quietly shushed.
"Hurry!" The teenage boy exclaimed.
Before the poachers shoot their guns, they are suddenly ambushed by a giant flock of various parrots. Several parrots swiped their guns as monkeys approached the group and untie them.
"Wow, thank you." Gwen thanked.
"We heard you released our friends, and you needed help, so we're returning the favor." The spider monkey said.
The group get up and Gwen frees Cerulean Bolt from the cage. The poachers were each getting attacked by the parrots, jaguars and harpy eagles until they were each defeated.
"Oh meu Deus!" The teenager exclaimed, looking at the animals.
Cuphead and Mugman along with some monkeys grab some rope and tie the poachers up.
"Ha! Taste your own medicine!" Ms. Chalice taunted as she slapped each poacher in their faces.
Aldo lands on Gwen's shoulder.
"Aldo? You brought them here?" Gwen asked.
"Sim. You helped us. Now we help you." Aldo said.
"Obrigado." Gwen thanked in Portuguese.
"De nada." Aldo answered.
Topaz flies and lands on Clarence's head and nestled.
"Aw, this little girl like my hair." Clarence said.
"Aw, you made a friend Clarence." Gwen said.
Sol and Lua hop on Gwen's head.
"We did it! We are free!" Sol cheered.
"We saved our neighbors and the forest!" Lua cheered.
"Yeah, we sure did." Gwen agreed.
The teenager looked in awe at Gwen talking to the animals.
Vermelho, Azul and Jaida fly to the cups and land on their shoulders.
"Aw, you came back." Cuphead said.
"Thanks for bringing your friends." Mugman said.
"Yeah, you really saved our butts.' Ms. Chalice added.
The parrots snuggled against their heads.
"Aw!" Both humans said.
Later, the Brazilian authorities arrive and arrest the poachers. The teenager approached the group.
"I never introduced myself. I am Sérgio Ramos." Sérgio introduced himself.
"I'm Gwen Emmons. This is my fiancé Clarence Hopewell and my best friends Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice." Gwen introduced.
"That was impressive how you confronted those poachers. You all could've been killed." Sérgio complimented.
"Well, we did have help from the locals as you noticed." Gwen said, looking at the birds.
"So, they'll make sure they never get out of jail?" Clarence asked.
"Sim. The police have been hunting these poachers for a while now. But now thanks to you, the animals are safe." Sérgio said.
"That's great." Cuphead said.
Sérgio looked at the cups.
"Uau, xícaras. Incrível." Sérgio said in Portuguese, looking at the cups.
"Yeah, we have cups for heads." Mugman said.
"Why are you out here?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"I work with my father exploring the rainforest and studying the animals. I found the poachers, so I stowed away in their jeeps and got separated from my father." Sérgio answered.
"That's wonderful." Mugman said.
"Can you help me get home?" Sérgio asked.
"Where's your dad?" Clarence asked.
"We have a campsite west of here." Sérgio answered.
The group hop on Cerulean Bolt. Sérgio was astounded at the sight of the magic carpet.
"Uau. Tapete mágico." Sérgio said in Portuguese.
"Come on, it's okay." Gwen said reaching her hand.
Sérgio takes her hand, and she pulls him on. They fly over the rainforest until they a campsite where an older man sat on the ground.
"Is that your dad?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"Sim. That's him. That's our campsite." Sérgio confirmed.
They fly down to the campsite startling Sérgio's father.
"Oh meu Deus!" The older man exclaimed.
"Pai!" Sérgio called.
"Sérgio!" Mr. Ramos exclaimed.
Both father and son hug, happily reunited. Gwen and Clarence held each other, feeling happy for their good deed.
"Pai, these are the people who rescued me." Sérgio said to his father.
Mr. Ramos looked at the group.
"You saved my son?" Mr. Ramos asked.
"Yes sir." Gwen answered.
Mr. Ramos hugged Gwen.
"Obrigado." Mr. Ramos thanked.
"De nada." Gwen answered.
Later, the group traveled to Sérgio's hometown Fordlândia where it looked to be deserted.
"Where is mãe?" Sérgio asked.
"She's still at work at the crop fields. She'll be home in an hour." Mr. Ramos answered.
"Is this where you guys live?" Cuphead asked looking around.
"Sim. We live here since many have left. We stayed here because we have nowhere else to go." Sérgio answered as he helped his father unpack.
"Not bad though since you need a roof over your head." Ms. Chalice said.
"I agree." Clarence agreed.
While Clarence, Mr. Ramos and the cups socialized, Sérgio went up to Gwen.
"I saw your magic and you talk to those animals." Sérgio said.
"Yeah, I am magic. I use it for good deeds and helping others in need." Gwen explained.
"Why did you come here?" Sérgio asked.
"We were in Rio de Janeiro earlier having fun because it's my birthday today. Then a group of animals came to me asking for my help to rescue the trapped animals and you." Gwen answered.
"Oh! Feliz aniversário!" Sérgio said.
"Thanks. All and all, this birthday was great so far. Seeing Rio, watched Brazil play against Argentina, had lunch and had some beach time." Gwen said.
"Uau. You know, today is first day of Carnaval, our favorite celebration. You should go there, it's tonight." Sérgio suggested.
"You know, I might just take you up on that. You wanna come with us then I'll teleport you home?" Gwen offered.
"Let me ask pai." Sérgio said.
They approach the group, and Sérgio asked his father if he could go with the group to Rio for Carnaval explaining Gwen will bring him home.
"Hmm, alright. But don't stay out too late and be home." Mr. Ramos instructed.
"I will bring him home. I promise." Gwen promised.
They fly back to Rio de Janeiro in time for Carnaval. They get seats and watch the dancers in flashing costumes, parade floats and samba music.
"This is wonderful but something's missing." Gwen said.
"What do you mean love?" Clarence asked.
Later, Gwen brings her friends including the HIIS to join them with Carnaval. They all seat together and watch the parade.
"Wow, so this is Carnaval." Rose said.
"Yeah, it's so energetic." William agreed.
"I've always wanted to see Carnaval in person!" Cordelia said excitedly as she held Virgil and Maile.
"Yes love. It is very colorful and lively." Virgil agreed.
Everyone started dancing to the samba music. The couples danced with each other except for Maile who felt left out. Sérgio notices Maile and blushed at her beauty. He shyly approaches her.
"Olá." Sérgio greeted.
"Aloha." Maile greeted.
"Wanna dance?" Sérgio asked.
"'Ae." Maile answered and nodded.
Sérgio takes her hand and dances with her. Gwen notices Sérgio dancing with Maile.
"Looks like Maile found a new guy." Gwen said.
Clarence looked and noticed Maile dancing with Sérgio.
"I hope this works for her this time." Clarence said.
"I believe so." Gwen said.
They continued celebrating until Carnaval was over. Gwen returns her friends home. Gwen and Cordelia realized Maile was still talking to Sérgio.
"Will I see you again Maile? You can meet my mãe and pai." Sérgio asked.
"I want to see you again too Sérgio." Maile answered, feeling the same way.
"Looks like our youngest HIIS member has found a new man." Cordelia said.
"Yeah." Gwen agreed.
"Hey sugar, wrap it up! Time to go home! You have school in the morning!" Cordelia called.
"I'll be right there!" Maile called.
Both Sérgio and Maile exchange phone numbers and say goodbye. Maile returns to Cordelia and takes her home back to the Inkwell Isles.
Gwen approached Sérgio.
"Ready to go home?" Gwen asked.
"Sim." Sérgio answered.
Gwen teleports herself and Sérgio back to his house. Just then, the birds and frogs approach them.
"Oh, hi guys." Gwen greeted.
"Hey there Gwen. We wanna thank you for all your help." Aldo said.
"You're welcome, Aldo." Gwen said.
"You will always have friends in the Amazon." Jaida said.
"I will remember that." Gwen said.
"I wish I could understand what animals are saying like you." Sérgio said.
Gwen smiled, then raised her glowing ink pen.
"What are you doing?" Sérgio asked.
"Wish granted." Gwen said and cast magic on him.
Sérgio looked at himself but doesn't notice anything.
"Huh. I don't feel anything." Sérgio said.
"Was that magic?" Topaz asked.
"Ah! Did that hummingbird just talk?" Sérgio asked shockingly.
"Yes. Now, we can hear animals talk English like we do." Gwen explained.
"So, now you can hear us talk?" Vermelho asked flying up to him.
"Uh, sim?" Sérgio answered nervously.
"Wonderful! Now we have another human to talk to." Azul said.
"Well, Sérgio lives here so you can see him anytime. I have to go home now." Gwen said to the animals.
Sol and Lua hopped on Sérgio's nose.
"Wonderful!" Sol said.
"We have new friend!" Lua said.
"Olá sapos." Sérgio greeted.
"Meu garoto, we're going to get along just fine." Aldo said.
"Yeah. You can help protect us from evil humans." Jaida added.
Sérgio hugged Gwen.
"Thank you for everything Gwen. I will use your gift to help more animals like you did." Sérgio thanked and promised.
"I know you will do great things for the animals." Gwen said.
Gwen waved goodbye and teleports back to her palace as Sérgio returned to his parents and the animals return to the rainforest.
At the palace, Gwen and her family and friends celebrate her birthday and have birthday cake and played party games. Afterwards Gwen returns everybody home and turns in for the night.
