Ianto felt fully justified for being a bit upset. He tried to be fair to his colleagues, and to make allowances for occasional poor judgement, but this smacked of carelessness, and from an ex-PC who presumably knew how to drive!
Okay, so Torchwood Three's bulky, black, heavily modified Range Rover was somewhat different to a police car; it was built like a tank, and it drove like one, just at much higher speeds than a normal tank was capable of. It could take a bit of getting used to, and it required a marginally greater stopping distance than vehicles of comparable size, despite the alien tech-enhanced braking system. Or it did if anyone other than Jack was driving; he somehow seemed able to make it practically stop on a dime, but he had unfeasibly fast reflexes, thanks to his fifty-first century physiology.
"I'm sorry," Gwen was saying, eyes wide with sincerity, or possibly shock. "I didn't mean for it to happen; it was an accident!"
That did nothing to lessen Ianto's ire. "You killed Jack! You reversed right over him!"
"I know! My foot slipped!"
"And then you drove over him again!"
"I had to, he was underneath the car!"
