Chapter 5: It's See You Later, Not Goodbye
"You will transported to a small abandoned cabin in the woods somewhere in Cape Alava, Washington to live and train, which is an hour and fifteen minutes away from the vampires and shifters in Forks by car. You will also be transported on January 15th, 2002, less than four years before Bella arrives in Forks in 2005." He explained and I nodded my head in agreement.
That sounds great. I'll be able to practice my abilities in peace without any humans, vampires, or shifters around to disturb or distract me. I nodded again, this time agreeing with myself.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, you will be turned back into a nine-year-old."
Wait, what?
"Wait what?" I stared at him and shock.
"Don't worry you will still keep your memories of your previous life and this conversation we had and your mind will have the mentality of a 23-year-old just the body of a nine-year-old." He waved off like that was the issue at hand.
I shook my head, "that's not the problem, why nine years old?"
"Oh, did I forget to mention about your bonds?" He asked tilting his head towards me, seeming generally confused.
"Yes! What do mean by bonds, I will have bonds?!" I asked shocked, my heart feeling it's beating out of my chest, slamming against my ribs.
"Yes you will, I remember you wanting parents, did you not? You will have three bonds, two parental bonds, and one mate bond. When I looked back in your file, I remember reading that you prefer females, yes?" I nodded in agreement, still in shock.
He continued, "Then it will not be an issue as I already matched you with someone."
"Wait, who are going to be my parents and mate? What do you mean by match? With who? What are Parental bonds? Who says that they will just agree to be a random kid's parents in the woods?" I started rambling firing questions quickly.
I never thought this option would come with parents or a mate. Throughout my 23 years on the earth, I've never dated, never found anyone interesting, now all of a sudden I will have a mate, someone I've matched with.
"Woah woah slow down," he said casually like we were talking about the weather or getting food, not talking about my future.
"Let's start with your first question, you will know when you see them. For your second question, I've matched you with someone, I know who will be able to balance you out just like you would her. Your habit of speaking what you think is exactly what makes you compatible along with your other quirks. All I will tell you is that it is your mate is a female and a vampire. Your wolf will recognize her as your mate, as will you. You will be frozen at the same age as her to avoid drawing attention to the humans around you, who might wonder why an old woman is in a relationship with a vampire who never ages. Don't worry even with both ages combined she is still older than you by 100 years."
That makes a lot of sense I thought to myself. I am slightly relieved that she would be older than me.
He continues, "As for your third question, Parental bonds are like mate bonds, except for the romance part and more platonic relationships such as a mom or dad. It is an important and intense bond, it often causes an emotional connection and attachment that develops over time between the individuals, however, it is much stronger between supernaturals. You and your wolf will be able to tell who your parental bonds are, by also making eye contact, as will your bonds."
Interesting, I thought to myself, it would be a lot easier if families on Earth had that.
He nodded in agreement.
"I'm not going to ask who or what they are because I have a feeling you won't tell me."
Liam nodded in agreement.
"Can I ask you if my parents are supernaturals? It would be heartbreaking for me to stop aging and for them to keep aging and eventually dying, leaving me alone." I asked already getting teary-eyed at the thought of finally getting a family only for death to rip them away from me.
"Yes, don't cry, little one," Liam said as he walked over and hugged me. I stiffened at first but eventually relaxed into it. It had been a while since I had hugged someone who wasn't Ivy or Harry, and it felt nice.
"Yes, your parents will be supernaturals and they will love you and your personality. You will also gain more family support, and love then you will know what to do with it," he said letting go and taking a few steps back.
"Sorry for crying," I said sniffing and wiping my nose on my baggy sleeves. That was so embarrassing. I'm not usually so emotional like that, why did I have to cry, I'm not a crybaby, I haven't cried since I was nine, and I chastised myself in my head.
"No need to apologize, little one, letting your emotions out can be healthy and will make you feel better, it's not healthy to hold it in." He said looking sternly at me like he was scolding a child and not a 23-year-old. I nodded and hung my head a bit.
I heard a snap and looked up to see a tissue materializing in thin air. Liam handed me the magic tissue, "I will give you a moment to collect yourself and we will continue when you are ready." I thanked him, nodded, and wiped my eyes and nose.
I took a moment to collect myself, taking deep breaths to calm myself, and nodded indicating that I was ready for us to continue.
"Before I forget to mention the story might be a bit different from the original" Liam stated and before I could ask how, he quickly added, "No spoilers!" with a wink.
I let out a huff at his quick response time and nodded. I wonder what makes it different?
Liam took a deep breath as if he was saddened by something and tilted towards me, "Little one, I'm afraid it's almost time," he said smiling sadly at me.
I froze in shock, already?! I didn't think I would be leaving so soon.
He says softly, "Yes, I'm afraid so."
He continued, "Don't worry remember, you won't be alone for long, you will have your wolf after three months, and your parental bonds, and your mate sooner than you'll know it."
I took a deep breath reminding myself of what he said, that I won't be alone anymore and I don't know when I'll meet my bonds, but I will be able to meet and talk to my wolf after three months, which will be nice.
"How will I know when it will be a few months? Or what day it is?" I asked probably overthinking things.
He pondered that for a moment, "I will put many yearly calendars in your cabin, that way you will have a way to keep track. I will also be providing you with a magic journal so that you will be able to journal in to track your progress."
Magic journal?
"What makes it magic?" I asked.
He chuckled, probably at my curiosity, "Well, it is like your spell book, but instead of you being the only one that sees it, there will be invisible ink that only you and your bonds will be able to see with your permission, of course. It will come with a pen, but you could use any kind of pencil or pen."
I know I keep thinking this, but wow, I'm happy I get so much privacy and people can't just steal my book and read what's inside of it.
He nodded in agreement, "Well, you will need as much privacy as you can in this universe especially since there are vampires and shifters in this universe."
"Any more final questions, before it's time," he asks.
I guess this is really goodbye.
"Will I ever get to see or talk to you again?" I asked softly. I was already getting attached to Liam and our conversations. As I already count him as a dear friend and would be sad to go.
I could see him start to tear up at my question and most likely my thoughts.
"I will miss you as well, little one, I will also miss our wonderful conversations," he said with teary eyes and a slight tremble in his voice.
"If you ever want to see or have a talk to me all you have to do is say my name five times in a row and I will be there but try to use it only in emergencies," he walks up to me and ruffles my blonde hair.
I nod as he takes a step back and clears his throat, composing himself. "Is there any last request before you go to your new world?" he asks.
I looked down and thought about his question for a moment before talking, "I don't know, you've given me so much already. There is one small thing though, If it's possible, can I keep my blonde hair and brown eyes?"
"Yes, that should be easy to do," he said with a laugh and smiled at me. I look up again before launching myself at him, giving him my best hug.
"Thank you for everything, Liam," I said.
"You are very welcome, little one, I expect to hear from you. I will see you eventually, no pressure though." Liam said hugging me just as tight.
As I stepped back from the hug, I noticed everything fading away and I passed out, knowing when I woke up everything would change.
