"Ivy talking looks like this."
Faye taking to Ivy in her mind looks like this.
"Everyone talking out loud looks like this."
Chapter 17: Bacon and Unexpected Visitors
As I looked around confused and a little bit disorientated, I noticed that I was in the middle of Rosalie and Emmett making me freeze. I looked down and thankfully I was still in my bear form and let out a sigh of relief.
As I looked at Rosalie and Emmett, I noticed that their eyes were closed and it looked like they were sleeping, which made no sense. Vampires can't sleep!
I decided to ask Ivy.
Pssst, Ivy. Are you up?
Ivy?
Ivy…..
IVY!
"Huh, mmm what?"
"What is it human? I was having a good dream about chasing rabbits!"
Well, excuse me! I just wanted to ask why our bonds look like they are sleeping when they are VAMPIRES!
"Hmmm, what sleeping? Let me see."
I turn my head looking at our bonds. Ivy let out a chuckle.
"Faye they are not sleeping. Well, kind of. They are in a coma-like state which is the closest thing vampires can get to sleep. Think of it as a deep mediation."
I let out a thoughtful hum as I thought about her words when suddenly I smelt something amazing! Ivy perked up as well.
"Faye! What's that amazing smell?!"
I took a deep breath and let out a wistful sigh. I recognize that smell anywhere!
Bacon
Bacon! Bacon, Ivy! I smell bacon. It's been so long since I've had bacon!
"What are you waiting for, Human? Let's go eat!"
I nod my head and slowly slide my body to the end of the bed, thankfully Rosalie and Emmett didn't wake up.
As my feet touched the ground I slowly made my way to the door. Thankfully it seemed like the door was cracked. I used my claw to pull the door open and began to slowly walk down the stairs and into the kitchen.
When I arrived I noticed Esme humming while cooking on the stove. As I took another step inside the kitchen Esme noticed me as she turned around with a friendly smile.
"Oh! Hi dear! I hope you are hungry! I made you breakfast!"
I nodded my head excitedly and hopped on a chair as Esme brought me a plate of food. It looked amazing! It had bacon, eggs, sausages, apple slices and even mini pancakes! This beats what we usually eat in the forest. I could sense Ivy drooling over all the different types of meat on the plate.
"What are we waiting for?! An invitation?! Let's eat!"
I nodded my head in agreement, ignoring her slight sarcasm, only because I was very excited to try Esme's food! According to the movie and many fanfics her food is supposed to be amazing! People have often compared her food to one of the top chefs in the world.
I tried to grab the wooden fork but it was harder than I thought. Then I remembered why. Bear claws. I let out a huff staring at my hands, well, claws. I looked at my plate trying to figure out how to do this.
There is no way I was going to turn human for a plate of food, right?
But as I took another breath in, I began to doubt myself. Fuck! That smelt so good!
As I was having my existential crisis over food. Esme walked in, probably wondering why I hadn't started eating yet or why I was staring at the plate of food in a blank stare.
"Is everything alright, dear?"
I turned my head and nodded my head and turned my head back at the plate then my claws.
Suddenly I had an idea.
Well, there's nothing wrong with finger food, right?
"I don't care if we have to shove that whole plate in our mouth. Please just eat it!"
I mentally chuckled at her impatient reply, as I poked the mini pancakes with one of my nails. As soon as the pancake touched my tongue, it felt like I went to paradise or heaven. I let out an appreciated sigh which came out as a bear growl.
I looked over at Esme and gave her an appreciated look hoping that she understood that her cooking was amazing!
Thankfully it seemed like she understood as she gave me a smile.
"I'm happy you like it, dear. I wasn't sure if it would be okay for bears to eat human food so I tried to keep it as simple as possible."
Simple? This is simple?! Wow! I wonder what a complex breakfast would be.
I nodded my head and began to devour my plate. By the time I was halfway done, I noticed panicked and frantic footsteps coming from upstairs. I looked up and in the doorway was a disheveled Rosalie and Emmett.
Their hair was tousled, sticking out in all directions, and their clothes were creased and crumpled, as if they had just rolled out of bed in a hurry.
I tilted my head looking at them in confusion. I wonder why they looked so panicked. They looked like they were searching for something or someone.
Oh.
Wait.
Oops?
I heard Ivy sigh at how oblivious I was to the people around me. I could sense her tail wagging as soon as our bonds stepped into the doorway.
As soon as they saw me sitting at the table, staring at them, they looked relieved. Rosalie used her super speed which made her appear right in front of me which made me flinch a bit in surprise. She gave me a side hug and buried her face in the side of my fur as Emmett speed-walked to my other side and put his hand on my head.
Ivy was practically buzzing with contentment, purring in my head at being surrounded and touched by our bonds.
We stayed like that for a while before Emmett spoke up, "You had us so worried, little bear." Rosalie jumped in, "Next time, please wake us up. We panicked when we woke up and couldn't find you, thinking that you had left us or something had happened to you."
I gave them an apologetic and regretful look before nodding my head agreeing with her to let her know beforehand. I wanted to let them know why I left so I gave a small lick to Rosalie's forehead and nuzzled Emmett's shoulder to get their attention. Once I had it I pointed to the food and gave another apologetic mix with embarrassment that I was tempted with food.
They seemed to understand what I was trying to say as they both let out a chuckle. Emmett spoke, "So our little bear was drawn out by food?" I gave him a nod. "I understand, if I was still human I would love to try Esme's cooking."
This time Rosalie spoke up, "Is it good?" I looked over and excitedly nodded my head at her question which seemed to make her laugh.
"I'm happy you like it, dear. It's been so long since I've cooked anything. I was worried that I'd lost my touch."
I looked over in surprise, I gave her a sheepish look. I forgot she was here. I shook my head at her comment, lost her touch? If this is losing her touch then she has nothing to worry about! Ivy nodded her head in agreement.
"You might want to finish your breakfast, dear before it gets cold." I nodded my head in agreement before using my opposite hand that Rosalie wasn't leaning on to finish eating.
As soon as I was on the last item on the plate which was bacon. I heard the door open which made me freeze. I wonder who it was?
Alice?
Jasper?
Carlisle?
Edward?
As soon as I finished that last thought Edward walked in looking at me with suspicion and behind him Bella walked in as well.
Oh.
Shit.
