Red Like Roses, Green Like NINJAS!

Chapter 3: Pit Stop

"Okay…what do you want to know?" Leonardo asked.

"First off…um, what the heck are you guys?" Ruby asked as the two teams faced each other down, "Are you from the Ever After?"

"Ever After?" Donatello asked, cocking his head. "You mean like, 'happily ever after'? What's that?"

"It's a long story," Blake said, "But I guess we can take that as a 'no.'"

"Um, can we go back at our ship?" Michelangelo asked, "I wanna sit down, and our ride has the seat cushions."

Nobody could think of any reason not to, so both teams were soon walking back to where the Manta had crashed.

"By the way, I'm Yang Xiao Long." Yang said.

Blake said, "Blake Belladonna."

"I am Weiss Schnee." Weiss said in her most formal tone.

"And I'm Ruby Rose," Ruby finished, "Together, we're Team RWBY!"

"I'm assuming you came up with that name." Raphael remarked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, no, not Team Ruby, Team RWBY." Ruby said, somewhat wearily.

"Uh, is there some subtle, cultural difference we're missing?" Don asked.

"Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, R-W-B-Y, RWBY," Weiss said in a deadpan tone, "And don't worry, other people get confused about it, too."

"And what are you're names?" Blake asked the Turtles.

"I'm Leonardo," Leo said, and gestured to each Turtle he named, "And these are my brothers, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael."

Ruby scrunched up her face in thought. "What kind of names are those?"

"Awesome ones," Mikey boasted, "Especially the ones that end in 'o'." He got a light punch in the arm from Raph.

"Yup, they're brothers." Yang remarked, laughing.

They bantered like this all the way back to the Manta, where the Turtles introduced Team RWBY to their friend, April O'Neil.

"Heyyy, you're not a Turtle!" Ruby cried, pointing.

"Neither are you." April O'Neil replied with a smile.

"Oh, sorry, I guess that was kinda rude." Ruby apologized.

"It's all right," April said, "I know I stand out. It's nice to meet you girls in person. The guys told me about how you helped them out in that castle."

"It's what huntresses do." Yang said, winking. "Finding people in trouble and saving their butts."

"Although, usually the people we save are a little more…normal." Blake added, looking over the Turtles.

"Which brings us back to our original question," Weiss said, "And please take no offense when I reiterate, what is your deal?"

And so Team RWBY were told the fascinating story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' creation. As they spoke, the huntresses gaped at what they were hearing. They had already learned truths that defied logic and reason, but the Turtles' origins were in a completely different genre of understanding.

"…and so, Master Splinter named us each after artists from the Renaissance." Leonardo finished.

"That was…nice of him," Ruby said politely, before leaning and whispering to her sister. "What's a Renaissance?" Yang just shrugged.

Weiss sighed, and decided to just get it over with. "All right. Just to recap," She said tiredly, "You guys are…turtles."

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!" Michelangelo corrected. He preened, clearly proud of his proclamation.

"Right. How could I forget?" Weiss asked through gritted teeth, "You couldn't just be turtles…and the 'mutant' part was caused by this goo-"

"Ooze. Call it ooze."

Weiss' eye twitched. "-ooze. That was created by aliens."

Mikey nodded. "Yeah, that part was a shock for us, too."

Off to the side, sitting a tree that had been knocked over by the crash, Blake marveled at Michelangelo and Donatello. She had met plenty of Faunus with turtle attributes. But those Faunus still looked mostly human. The Ninja Turtles…weren't human by any measurable degree. They were humanoid, but that was about it. In another corner of the room, Donatello was fiddling with a Scroll.

"But," The Faunus said, trying to keep focused. "Why are you raiding a bunch of gang hideouts?"

"We're looking for a friend," Don answered. He stuck the Scroll back in a pouch on his belt and joined the group. "He was captured by the Spiders when we first got here."

"Your friend? Another Turtle?" Ruby asked.

"Not quite," Raph said, "He is another mutant though."

"His name's Leatherhead," Mikey supplied helpfully, "He's an alligator."

"Unlike us, Leatherhead was raised by the Utroms," Leonardo explained, "They were his family. When they had to retreat to their home planet, he got left behind."

"Since then, he's been trying to find a way to reach them," Don went on, "We were trying to help him, but we ended up on your world by mistake."

"Our world?" Weiss asked incredulously, "On top of everything else, you people are from another world?"

"So wouldn't that make you guys the aliens?" Blake asked, becoming more intrigued by the second.

"Pretty much." April agreed, "We're not from Mistral. Or even this planet. Hard to believe, huh?"

"Actually, that's the most believable part of your story." Yang said.

"Ya happy?" Raphael asked, "Now it's your turn. How come you've been looking for us? I doubt it's cause you wanna ask us out to the prom."

"Eww, no!" Ruby half-gagged, half-laughed at the idea, and said, "We're trying to figure out there are so many Grimm when you're around."

"Whaddya mean, 'when we're around'?" Mikey asked, "I thought monster attacks were normal on this planet."

"Yes, but lately they've been extra-normal," Blake said, "Grimm activity has been on the rise, and the spikes always happened in the towns and regions you've been sighted in."

While Blake spoke, Weiss brought up the articles with the vague photos of the Turtles, and then the reports of Grimm attacks in the corresponding districts. She projected the image into the air for the rest of the Turtle team to see.

"So what?" Raph snorted, crossing his arms. "Don't see how that's our fault."

"…But it might be," Don said slowly, "Introducing new animals to an ecosystem can throw it out whack. Our coming here might have upset this planet's delicate balance."

"All the more reason why we need to save Leatherhead and get home," Leo said, and glanced at the Manta. "Uh, I don't suppose you girls know if there's a good auto body shop around."

"Uh…could you give us a moment?" Ruby said, and Team RWBY retreated to a short distance and huddled.

"So, should we help them?" Ruby asked her team, "I mean, they don't seem like bad guys…"

"We don't exactly have a good track record for figuring out if someone's trustworthy," Weiss pointed out, "At best we just break even."

"Their story sounds crazy," Blake said, "But is it 'too crazy to be made up'?"

"Well, we can't just leave them in the lurch." Yang said, "I mean, we already saved their lives."

As Team RWBY had their little debate, Raphael nudged Leonardo.

"You think it's a good idea to trust 'em?" The red bandana-wearing Turtle asked.

"They've helped us out twice now," Leo said, "Besides, like Master Splinter says, sometimes you've got to trust your gut."

Team RWBY came back. Ruby stepped forward and said, "Okay. We'll help you find your friend."

"Awesome!" Michelangelo cheered, "Gimme three!"

Mikey held out his hand. Rather awkwardly, Ruby gave him a low-five. Feeling his three-fingered hand against her five fingers was interesting.

"Now let's see about your ship," Weiss said.

Thankfully, the damage to the Manta was not so severe that it couldn't been patched together. Being the most familiar with machines, Weiss and Yang worked with Don and April on the repairs, while the rest of the new alliance stood a safe distance away to keep an eye out in case more Grimm showed up.

"…Is that how it works?" Don asked as he watched Yang tinker on one of the aircraft's jets.

"Pretty much," Yang said, "You catch on fast, don't you?"

"I pride myself on being the technically-minded Turtle," Don said, "I'm just not used to this crystal-propulsion system, though. It's nothing like what we've got back home."

"So you don't have dust-powered engines back on your world?" Yang asked.

"Nope. The only dust we've got is the kind you get from not moving enough," Don shook his head, "Regrettably, our energy industries rely more on fossil fuels."

"Fossil fuels?" Yang immediately found herself envision a motorcycle with a t-rex skull where the engine should be.

Inside the Manta, Weiss glanced outside, watching as her friend and the big Turtle talked. Besides her, April fiddled with the wiring of the control panel in the cockpit. She saw Weiss, and smirked.

"I know, right?," April asked, "Giant, talking turtles?"

"Hmm?" Weiss blinked, then looked away, blushing. "I-I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't stare…"

"I totally get it," April said, "When I first met the Turtles, I flat out fainted. It's a hard to get used to."

"The worst part is, I should already be used to it," Weiss sighed, and shook her head. "Let's focus on fixing your ship."

It wasn't long before the repairs were complete. The engines sputtered for a bit, but roared to life once Donatello gave the Manta a frustrated kick.

"Everyone, all aboard!" Don announced, "Next stop, Wind Path!"

As the teams got into the Manta, Blake asked, "How did you guys get a Manta anyway?"

"Stole it from the Spiders," Raph said, "The first place we checked out was some kind of chop-shop. Luckily for us, they only took out the tracking beacon these kinds of ships are built with and left everything else in tact."

"Aww, why didn't we think of that?" Ruby muttered. Mikey gave her an odd look and she clammed up.

As the Manta soared through the air, it gave an odd jolt from the jet engines.

"I hope this thing stays up," Leo commented, "It took a bad hit from that giant bird."

"It should be fine," Weiss said, "These ships are designed for battle, after all. They can take a lot of hits before failing."

"The only real problem was that some of the Nevermore's feathers jammed up the jets," Yang said, "Everything else was just a general patch-up."

"We're just running into some turbulence," April reported from the cockpit, "But it shouldn't be anything the ship can't handle."

With that worry settled, the group settled down. Yang was in the cockpit with April acting as the main pilot. Ruby hoped her sister wouldn't try one of the daring maneuvers she did when riding a bike.

To distract herself from that fear, the young huntress asked the Turtles, "Sooo…what's your world like? Anything like ours?"

"Sorta-kinda," Donatello said. He was once again fiddling with the scroll. "I've noticed that this country-"

"Mistral." Blake supplied helpfully.

"-Mistral is a lot like a country back home called Japan," Don continued, "Aesthetically speaking, at least."

"Minus the hordes of evil monsters lurking in the shadows," Mikey added, "Those things really bring down the real estate value."

"That's an understatement," Blake remarked with bitter sarcasm, "Grimm can wipe out whole villages if left unchecked."

"Geez, that sounds rough," Leo remarked sympathetically, "How do you deal with it?"

"That's what huntsmen and huntresses are for," Weiss said, "We use our training to hunt down Grimm and protect the people."

"Is that how you get your powers?" Raph asked, "Just by 'training'?"

"Pretty much," Ruby admitted, "First we have to unlock our auras, then we need to figure out what our semblances are."

"Man, you make it sound so simple," Mikey groaned, "Back home you only get superpowers if you've been exposed to certain chemicals and don't die from poisoning, or are magic."

"You mean people on your planet don't gain semblances?" Weiss asked, thunderstruck.

Leo sighed, "'Fraid not."

"Well, you guys seem pretty tough without them." Ruby commented.

"Thanks, but lately 'pretty tough' isn't going to cut it," Don sighed, "If you girls hadn't shown up yesterday, we might have never been able to beat that hot guy."

"Maybe we could help you with that," Blake suggested, "Every living creature has aura. Just because the people of your world never figured it out, doesn't mean it's impossible for you to master controlling yours."

"You think so? Awesome!" Mikey cheered, jumping to his feet "What do we do first? Visit an ancient temple? Have special runes carved onto our bodies?"

"Oh no, Mikey," Raph cut in, yanking on Michelangelo's bandana. "If Master Splinter said you couldn't get a tattoo, you sure as heck ain't gettin' no runes," He looked at the huntresses, "We don't need runes, do we?"

"Thankfully, no," Weiss said, "Harnessing your aura requires intense concentration and practice. But first, we need to awaken it…"

Neither group realized this, but trundling on the ground was an all-terrain vehicle with four-wheel drive. It had no windows, save the windshield and two in the front of the car. Inside, a group of figures draped in shadows sat impatiently as the driver occasionally glanced at a computer screen on the dashboard, which showed a blinking dot over a digitized map.

"Are we there yet?" Someone asked.

"Shut up, Chameleon."

It was hard to practice aura usage within the cramp confines of an aircraft, but the group made due. After a few hours, however, the Manta began to descend.

"Got a problem, guys," Yang announced, "Our tank is running on empty. Unless you picked up a spare tank of dust, I think we'll be walking the rest of the way."

Leonardo unfolded a map and placed it on the floor. The rest of the group gathered around it, kneeling down for a better look. Ruby reached out and tapped one section of the paper.

"According to this, there's another town nearby, to the east," The caped huntress said, "Think we can reach it before we run out?"

"How far is it exactly?" April asked.

"Not far," Ruby answered, "If we can stay in the air that long, maybe a five minute flight?"

"Plenty of time," Yang said, pulling at the yoke. "Just keep an eye out for a good place to land."

It was a larger town the one the groups were previously in. The area near the village was in was far more elevated than the last as well. It was a valley with several dips and rises, with the town built on a plateau. With the rest of the area forested, the only clear spot besides the city gates was a rocky cliff a significant walk away.

It was a rocky landing (Yang flew aircrafts the way she steered motorcycles), but the Manta was set down so the bay doors were opposite of the village.

"I don't like this," Leonardo remarked as they got off the ship to stretch their legs,"It's too out in the open."

"It's the only place we could land safely, Leo." Mikey said, "'Sides, we spend too much time lurking in shadows anyway."

"We're ninjas, Mikey."

Ignoring the Turtles' chatter, Weiss looked down at the village, shielding her eyes from the sun.

"That town looks like it we might be able to get some dust for the ship," She said, "It seems to be built on a major travel route, according to the map."

"So there's a good chance they might have enough dust to get back in the air." Ruby acknowledged.

"I just hope we can afford it," Weiss sighed, "It's not like we have unlimited funds, now."

Ruby nodded, feeling a slight throb of pain in her soul. While Weiss had been cut off from her father long ago, the Fall of Atlas had the effect of making virtually everyone from the once-floating city more than a little strapped for cash.

"Ahh, big deal," Raphael sniffed, "I bet we can trade with these yokels. I bet they'll give us anything in exchange for a missile or two."

"And a missile or two is all we have left," Donatello said, going back inside the Manta. "We used up the rest fighting Big Bird. But I think I can get us a good price for the two we have."

"You?" Blake asked, "I thought you guys had to remain hidden."

"Normally, that's true," Michelangelo said, "But April did the grocery shopping in the last town, so we're giving her a break. And Donnie's gonna be using the ancient ninja art of disguise!"

"Ta-da!" Don declared as he stepped out, now dressed. "How do I look, girls?"

Team RWBY looked apprehensively at the result.

"…like a giant turtle-man wearing a trench coat and oversized hat." Yang commented, the edges of her mouth twitching.

After a brief debate, It was decided that while Yang and Blake would go down into the village with Donatello and get supplies (Lugging a pair of missiles as if they were groceries. Meanwhile, Ruby and Weiss would remain with the rest of the group in forest next to the cliff. Weiss summoned another Queen Lancer and used it to fly Team BDY (Pronounced "birdy" by Ruby) down to the village. With that done, the rest of group resumed helping Team Ninja (As dubbed by Mikey) with their aura training. Now allowed more room to for physical practice, the New Yorkers were able to better adjust the power to their techniques.

"You guys are really starting to pick up on this." Weiss noted, impressed. She waved Myternaster, creating several small Glyphs in the air, which Michelangelo jumped around to avoid them.

"Well, it's not like we haven't been practicing this stuff since we were tiny Turtle tots." Raphael said, doing a roundhouse kick that Ruby ducked under.

"Ninja is the art of not just the body, but of the mind as well," Leonardo explained, doing katas. "For example, with the art of qigong we can slow our breathing to survive in an area with little or no oxygen."

"Breathing slowly…" Ruby commented as she jumped a safe distance from Raph. "I'm sure that would come in handy…somehow."

"More than you would think." Mikey said, recalling the time he and his brothers nearly suffocated on a spaceship.

"Speaking of breathing, do you mind if we take a break?" April asked, "There's something I want to try out at the ship."

Back at the Manta, April opened the cockpit's wiring again, and pulled out a scroll. Everyone recognized it as the scroll Don had been fiddling with.

"Where did you get that scroll?" Weiss asked suspiciously, "I doubt you just found it lying on the floor."

"It belonged to one of the Spiders," Leo explained, "We thought it might have some intel we could use to save Leatherhead."

"But the stupid thing is password-locked, and Big-Brain Donnie can't guess what the password is." Raph snarked.

"So, you're trying to hack it?" Ruby asked.

"Right," April explained, plugging wires into the scroll, "If this thing was supposed to be a military craft, maybe its computers are can get the data out of the scroll."

April turned on the ship's computer. After the requisite loading video played the terminal screen, the words, "Non-standard unit detected" appeared.

"Non-standard?" Mikey asked, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Let me see that." Weiss said, reaching for the scroll.

April disconnected it from the Manta and handed it to her. Weiss then forced the back of the scroll open. The group looked at the scroll's workings. While the Turtles and April were mostly ignorant of Remnant's telecommunications technology, Ruby and Weiss had a better understanding of a scroll's circuitry- and they knew that tiny microchip was not supposed to be there. Especially since it was labeled "Homing device- do not remove"

Despite Yang and Blake's reservations, Donatello's clothed form didn't attract much attention, beyond the typical "Strangers in town" looks any visitor would bring onto themselves. People probably assumed he was just another faunus, strengthened by Blake being right next to him. As they walked, Don told them about his ideas to keep the Manta going.

"…So, if they have sufficient parts to spare, we might be able to convert the Manta into a land vehicle." Don was saying.

"Maybe, but we'd still need dust to power it," Blake said, "I just hope the stores here have enough, or that we can afford it."

"If we can find a store," Yang muttered, lugging both missiles in bags under her arms. She noticed some guys sitting on the stoop of a house and called out to them. "Hey, fellas! Know where we can get any dust, or maybe stuff for vehicles."

The three men looked like they were in their late twenties. Yang was immediately reminded of the two Huntsmen who had been hired to protect the Argus Limited. They looked at the trio, then exchanged sly looks.

One of them said, "Oh, uh, just go down that alley. You'll find a store at the end."

He pointed down the alley in question. Biding them thanks, Team BDY went down the route. They soon found themselves facing a dead end.

"This does not bode well." Don remarked.

Team BDY heard footsteps from behind. Turning about, they saw the three guys from earlier coming down the alley, but now they held crude clubs.

"Man, I wish they were all that easy," The man in the front chuckled, "But it doesn't have to be hard for you three. Just lay down all of your valuables, and you can walk outta here no problem."

"But we don't mind havin' to search for ourselves." The guy on the right said, openly leering at Yang.

"Pass," Yang said, "Just get out of our way."

Team BDY began to walk back out. With the confidence of men who don't know what they're in for, the thug trio advanced. The right-most jerk reached out towards Yang- and then froze up as her knee sharply went between his legs. The poor fellow fell over clutching his groin.

"Why you-!" The apparent leader began to shout, swinging his bat at Yang.

Blake was fast. She was already behind him, and struck the leader over the head, knocking him out completely.

Meanwhile, the third thug was trying to hit Don. He would have succeeded, but Don, with his hands in his pockets, kept deftly dodging each amateurish swing. After a bit of this, Don reached out, grabbed the thug's arm and used his moment to flip him over and slam him into the dead-end. The guy moaned before falling unconscious.

"That was a bit over the top." Yang observed,

"This way, there are less bodies to step over." Don explained.

"That is efficient," Blake agreed.

"I don't know, but I try to err on the side of caution." Don said, pocketing the scroll.

They were able to get more reliable directions from more law-abiding villagers, and were on their way. They soon came to a house whose sign had a picture of a gear. It was a junk shop. Inside, they spoke with the proprietor, a heavy-set woman in a blacksmith's apron. She was more than happy to trade for the missiles, but unfortunately…

"Sorry, I'm all out of dust," the shop owner said, "Not until another shipment comes in next week. Maybe you can hitch a ride with the delivery truck."

"It had better be a big truck," Yang said, setting the bag down. "there are a lot of us."

"Well, might as well get something while we're here," Don said, and walked over a bicycle. "How much for this?"

"Whatcha got to spend?" The owner asked. Her eyes widened when Yang showed her one of the missiles.

As Yang and Don bartered and haggled, Blake heard her scroll beep. It was a message from Ruby. The text read, "TRACKING DEVICE DISCOVERED IN SPIDER SCROLL. WE MIGHT BE TRACKED. STAY ALERT." Blake's ears went straight up in alarm.

Once the trio had several bags in hand, and a bicycle slung over Don't shoulders, they left. As they walked, Blake filled them in on Ruby's message.

"Aw, I hate when one of my ideas backfire on me!" Don groaned.

"To be fair, not many scrolls have homing beacons put in," Yang said, "Still, Lil' Miss Malachite must be pretty paranoid if she put a chip in some rando's scroll."

"We might have some time," Blake said, "Just because they're tracking us doesn't mean we're in trouble yet."

"Let's get back to the ship and discuss our options," Yang said, "Hopefully we won't have to deal with any serious problems besides the Grimm."

The minute the words left Yang's mouth when they heard a lone gunshot in the distance.

"Uh oh." Yang muttered.

"At the risk of stating the obvious, but did that come from the camp?" Don asked anxiously.

A Beowolf's head exploded. Ruby didn't have much time to enjoy it, because she had to swing around and chop off the head of the other Beowolf coming up from behind. She then pivoted to deflect the claws of a third Beowolf.

The rest of the group was similarly occupied. The pack of Beowolves had shown up surprisingly quietly, but were quick to attack once they were close enough. The group had moved into the forest to keep the Grimm from putting more damage on the Manta.

Michelangelo battered one in the head with his nunchucks, hitting it so hard that the creature was knocked off of its feat. Before Mikey could follow up, two more Beowolves came at him from both sides, forcing the Ninja Turtle to duck and roll out of the way. As he recovered, he kicked his leg out to knock one into the other, but then had to narrowly shift his position to avoid the fourth Beowolf that came at him.

"Seriously!" Mikey cried, "Why are these things ganging up on me?!"

"It's ain't only you!" Raphael snarled as he stabbed his fourth Beowolf, "This wolf pack seems to have a taste for turtle meat!"

Weiss created a series of Glyphs that lifted several Beowolves, then fired dust bullets at them. While one came at her in retaliation, the majority of them were more focused at going after the Turtles.

What is about the Turtles that draw the Grimm to them? She thought, parrying the Beowolf's claws before stabbing it. They can't be magic like the Relics…are they?

Meanwhile, Leonard cleaved through the neck of one Beowolf, then used the momentum to stab a second. He jumped up and stomped on a third Beowolf, and then gave it a good kick. He then spun about and diced two Grimm at once.

To contrast, April was fighting very conservatively. She only made struck at a Beowolf when one was close enough, and typically only when its back was turned. For the most part, she remained on the defensive.

"Look on the bright side," Ruby called out as she shot off another Beowolf's head, "The horde is starting to thin, so we're almost done!"

It was true that there only about four Beowolves left. However, there came a loud crushing sound, followed by a gigantic ape-like Grimm smashing through the trees and onto the scene.

"You've got a King Kong Grimm!?" Leonardo cried in shock.

"A Beringel." Ruby replied steadily. She remembered fighting one during her first trip through Anima. But this one seemed a bit bigger…

The Beringel reached out, uprooted a tree, and swung it at the others as a makeshift club. The group scattered to avoid being pulverized. Ruby and Weiss shot it, but after the first few bullets, the Grimm used the tree-club as a makeshift shield. It then threw the tree at the girls, forcing them to retreat. Meanwhile, the remaining Beowolves lunged at the Turtles, who engaged them. This left the Ruby and Weiss to deal with the Beringel. So far, it was an even fight. The Turtle gang were skilled, but unused to using aura in real combat. And the huntresses were far more skilled than their first journey across Anima, but the Beringel was larger and more vicious, and much faster than the last one Ruby fought.

"I'm really wishing we hadn't sent Yang and Blake on a shopping trip." Weiss complained.

She tried to catch the Beringel with some Glyphs, but Grimm leapt into the treetops, before diving down at Ruby.

Ruby darted out of the way, narrowly avoiding the impact. She then Petal Burst back at the Beringel, trying to slice off its head. The Grimm moved away, but Ruby was able to slash at its shoulder.

Landing back besides Weiss, Ruby said, "There's nothing we can do about it, now. We just gotta keep fighting!"

Then Beringel was starting to charge again, but stopped when something hit it on the head. The thing beep three times, and then exploded. As the Beringel stumbled, every paused to look where the shot had come from.

"Three points, ya filthy animal!" Yang whooped. She was riding the bicycle, pedaling so hard small sparks flew from the gears. Riding piggyback was Don, who had several bags hanging from his staff. Sitting on the handlebars was Blake, who was reloading her Gambol Shroud. As they raced closer, Blake and Yang leapt off the bike, Don easily slid into the seat, letting the bags fall to the ground.

Not wanting to let this opening go to waste, Ruby and Weiss leapt into action. Weiss used her Glyphs to encase one of the Grimm's legs in ice. Ruby Petal Burst ahead and used Crescent Rose to slice the frozen leg off. As she backed off, the Beringel fell towards Yang, who was hurtling towards it. The Beringel pulled its fist back and prepared to punch her. Up in a tree, Blake through Gambol Shroud at Yang, and yanked her away by the ribbon. Yang swung around, and used the momentum to slam into the Beringel's back. She proceeded to deliver a series of rapid-fire punches into the Grimm until the poor thing dissolved into nothingness.

Meanwhile, Donatello rode towards the Turtle Gang's with his bo pointed out, like a cold-blooded knight in a joust. He rammed the end of his staff into one of the Beowolves neck, then used his force to polevault over and drive the beast into the ground. One quick twist, and the neck was broken.

Meanwhile Michelangelo found himself fighting two Beowolves at once. His nunchaku spun so fast it looked like there were several of them in the air. Then, both Beowolves howled- Raphael and April stabbed both of them in the backs with their blades. Mikey laughed and flashed the two of them thumbs' up.

Leonardo, meanwhile had been pressed against a tree by the last Beowolf. It seemed to have gotten bigger compared to, and the only thing keeping its claws from tearing Leo's head off were the Turtle's two swords. As the Grimm snapped its jaws, Leo breathed heavily, trying to steady himself. Closing his eyes, he tightened his grip on his swords. Twisting his body,Leo threw the Beowolf off of him and into the air. Then, before the creature could land back on the ground, Leo leapt up and slashed. As he landed, the now-headless Grimm dissolved.

Panting, Leonardo looked around. He and his brothers' bodies were cut up, but the wounds were healing quickly. April was clearly shaken up, but the adrenaline rush was making her smile. Or it was the relief that the battle was over. He could see the Team RWBY had finished off the Beringel.

Sheathing his swords, Leo said, "I think this is starting to get easier."

To be continued
